Those are the same, yes.
You get 3-5 Rift Fragments via Tome Challenges, but only for the Tome linked to the current Rift (currently Tome 3). For 10 Rift Fragments, you get a Tier in the Rift.
Also 800 XPs award one Rift Fragment.

As the person above explained, they are both used to advance the rift. However leveling the rift goes a lot faster if you do all the tome challenges as it can take a long time to level up the rift just by gameplay alone.
Anyways what I would recommend is to focus on the tome 3 challenges for now until you complete them all or the rift ends. Then you can do the remaining challenges in the previous tomes after that.
So, tell me if I have understand correctly: you can advance in the rift in two ways: either by taking on the challenges of the current tome, or by gaining experience, right?
If yes, can you tell me how the experience is calculated on? What do I get 800 XP for?

The challenges of the previous time are not supposed to reward you with fragments for the current rift. Only doing challenges from tome 3 will help you to progress in the rift.
If you are getting fragments from either tome 1 or 2 for the current rift then it's probably a bug. The old tomes are only supposed to give bloodpoints and lore.
EDIT: You also get fragments just by playing the game so make sure you're not confusing these fragments with the ones in the tome.
but aren't those fragments the same as those in the tome? are not both used to advance the rift?

would be great, but bring them around the map I don't see them well on dbd, so it will be something simpler, you will enter his world in a much easier way, as was for example the world of krueger where you entered it with the interaction of his hand, I doubt they do the same thing because they realized that it doesn't work that way there, but I doubt they seriously put portals around the map

It makes sense for both Netflix and Behaviour to release it now. Netflix just released the 3rd season of the show.
This chapter will coincide with the in game party system, dedicated servers, and the archives. Behaviour wants people to know this is a BIG update. Licensed content attracts attention. One as popular and cultural revelant as Stranger Things is even better.
As for your second point I’ll need a reference. The devs have said they have declined offers from other companies but they’ve never hinted at the companies or franchises.
Considering the Netflix tweet and MCote reply they weren’t talking about the Demogorgon.
I know, and I know it would be better to release a licensed chapter because of the launch with dedicated servers, also because we don't have a licensed chapter from the beginning of 2018 (the saw chapter), but I've been following dead by daylight long enough to say that all that is considered obvious, actually it is not, all the times when a certain thing was obvious in that particular way, then the exact opposite of what was expected came out (for example, you were expecting that ghostface he went out alone without a survivor and a map? I was the only one who said it, no one believed me) that's why I'm convinced that this time too, they will "amaze" everyone and make an original chapter, and not under license
(I hope of course I'm wrong, I love stranger things)

I read some guys who take it for granted that the next chapter is on Stranger Things.
I wouldn't be so sure.
For me they won't release it now for two reasons:
1) People expect it, so it's too obvious to release it now, better at a time when nobody expects it
2) It does not bind well to the dbd lore, and in one of the recent streams, I don't remember who, had said that some company had contacted them proposing their killer but that they are talking to see how to tie it to the dbd lore because their killer in fact does not fit well with the game, and in my opinion it was a clear reference to Netflix and Stranger Things
I wouldn't be surprised if the next chapter will be original, it would be cool to have a killer looking like a ghost 👻

hmm I disagree, an addon should be an add-on, not something that replaces.. "addon" means "add" not "replace"..
I keep saying that for me fake pallets should simply be implemented in power, and if the addon is even common, being common to you, so it wasn't better to add it directly to power? what is the difference of putting it as a common addon or adding it to its Power kit? I would be curious to know why this strange choice

The add-on is not ultra rare. I'm not sure where that misconception came from. There is a common add-on that switches to pallets.
I just mention pallets first because they're my personal favorite. Snares have their uses too, as I mentioned in the same post.

very nice concept, it would be really cool, but as a survivor will byers is impossible because it is a minor, so I would say that the survivor will be Hopper, as there is also in fortnite, and the map I think will be the mall (also was added on fortnite)

Let's be honest his whole power was to slow the game down which hurts slowing it down overall for all killers.

His terror radius becomes a lullaby. Lullaby provides less information than TR.
For every person asleep, he gets a 15% cooldown reduction on his generator teleport ability. That's up to 60% cooldown reduction if all 4 survivors are asleep. Having a killer being able to teleport to a generator every 20 seconds or so is a lot of map pressure potential you're just giving him for free.
Survivors in the dream realm will be susceptible to dream snares or dream pallets if he has the add-on for it. These cannot effect you while you are awake.
There is an add-on that effects survivor action speed when they are asleep. Not 50% like now of course, but a slow down in action speed nonetheless.
Seems like plenty of debuffs to me, with zero advantages to staying asleep. Just saying. I'm probably forgetting a thing or two, as well.

netflix is pushing the ip of stranger things, especially because the third season is coming soon, if they have decided to enter the world of video games by releasing a game of stranger things, if they decide to make collaborations with fortnite and roblox with stranger things, and if decide to entrust to "Next Games" the development of a mobile game always on stranger things, I don't see why with behaviour they have to make a collaboration on another IP, also because it wouldn't even make sense, stranger things comes out soon, it wouldn't make sense a collaboration with another TV series. They have also partnered with Nike for stranger things.

a mobile game on stranger things is already in production, so it's not a new game in collaboration with behaviour, they will also collaborate with fortnite and roblox, so I don't see why they shouldn't do it even with behaviour, I just hope they aren't skin
