  • This is why I wish we had console-only crossplay for PlayStation, Xbox and Switch! However, the current implementation is all or nothing, so you're forced to deal with the occasional cheaters and hackers on PC!

  • I'm sure there's someone staging a video as we speak!

  • I agree that they should be more forthcoming and honest about items. If they intend for something to be made available at a later date, they should make that clear. "Charm is exclusive through X date." Don't expect too much from them because they want to have their cake and eat it too. They want people to believe something is exclusive but also want the flexibility to bring the item back! Look at the trailers for the battle pass, limited time and exclusive are heavily used so it's implied that these items would only be available through the battle pass. Why go through all the trouble of calling it exclusive? Why not say timed exclusive? So it's clear that these items are only exclusive for a specific window. Now we have the deep rift drama. The wording implies that these items are exclusive and won't be made available again, at least that's the impression everyone is under, but they haven't explicitly stated that. I wouldn't be surprised if those items are made available more broadly at a later date.

  • I'm really curious to see the PTB because I know people are going to test the limits and try every scenario and combination out. Hopefully that resolves the issues prior to live. It's an unexpected solution to camping. I thought the best case scenario would be the hook teleporting to a new location, but this makes more sense since that would hurt survivors about to hit second stage or die if they get teleported too far from any rescuers. I wonder if this will change any perks.

Killers have entire builds about getting another chance right at the end game with NOED, NWO, Bloodwarden and the like. There's even videos of killers using Bloodwarden to go from a 0 to a 4k. Are they extreme cases? Yes. Do they still have a chance to win after the gates are open? Also yes.

Survivor end game builds don't prevent them from losing an already lost game, but they give them a bigger chance to at least escape. Survivors only get the satisfaction of escaping a lost game, while killers get the chance to transform defeats into victories. Which is fine by me, but if I'm the last one remaining, I don't want my only gameplay option to be walking towards the killer and stare at them like "You got games on your phone? 🧍" and hoping to God they don't just nod at me for the entirety of the EGC.

Plus, camping the gates will always trump survivor end game builds because the maps are tiny and the walls are at an arm's distance from the center, with close to no LoS breakers in some maps. No amount of Wake up! and Sole Survivor will prevent a camping killer from getting the last kill.

Hatch is almost a nonexistent feature that either spawns at your feet and you get it or it spawns somewhere else and the killer inevitably closes it (or worse, they camp it).

I don't need a win, I just want a chance. A chance at escaping. A chance at being discovered. Standing still to make me lose is not what I want.

When it comes to playing killer, I do play killer. I've been playing killer since 6.1.0 because I was getting fed up of playing matches that were over before 2 gens popped, and now it's my "The matches today are absolute garbage, I want to get some easy BP" role. Nowadays I play survivor/killer around 60/40. Which is the reason why I don't understand people feeling entitled to a 4k so badly. I sweat for the 2k, I try for the 3k and whatever happens to the 4k is up to chance. I don't give up (nor do I usually gift hatches) but I don't really care much either because I've already won regardless.

I agree, a chance would be nice, sometimes and oftentimes it's guaranteed one way or another.

Someone else suggested that perhaps the exit gates placement should be based on The Killer. Who knows if the game could implement that logic into the procedural placement of the gates!

  • @Triplehoo said:

Yes. Sometimes gate placement favors killer, sometimes it favors survivor. It's called "RNG". Deal with it. If we're going to handle this thing subjectively, every time I play killer, I think the gate placement always favors the last survivor.

And FYI, "Wake Up" is a perk you can use.

That won't matter with The Killer watching both gates and immediately going towards you the millisecond you touch the door. And as I already stated, I'm aware of the RNG aspect but is that the right approach? Should luck determine the outcome? Should there be more depth to the exit gate mechanic after the hatch is closed? Should it become more balanced for both sides? That's the point!

And as we've established, you define "Impossible" pretty differently based on whether it's Killers or Survivors we're talking about, so your point is pretty moot. It's always technically possible to escape through the exit gates if the Killer makes a silly mistake, just like how it's always technically possible to 4K so long as all 4 Survivors are still in the trial.

If it's really that important that you always have a chance to escape, why don't you just equip Left Behind and a key?

That hasn't been established, however, what has been established is that you're conflating. You're introducing all these unrelated points and side discussions about various aspects of the game and you can't seem to focus.

You're not debating in good fate. You keep going back to wanting to discuss a guaranteed escape despite the fact that I've made clear I never mentioned escaping. YOU have, several times now!

In a game that's already given you two separate chances to win, a third is still not enough for you? Killers wish they could get another chance after camping their endgame hook fails (And there's no guarantee they'll get even that, of course).

I play plenty of Survivor myself, and I really don't give a crap about dying. It goes with the territory when you queue as solo. More importantly for me, there isn't nearly as much pressure on me to succeed, and contributing to the team adequately is pretty simple; gens don't run away from you. It's a much less stressful role for me.

If the possibility of being helpless really bothers you that much, why don't you just play Killer? Because I thought it was pretty obvious that Survivors are supposed to be ultimately defenseless against the Killer.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432501#Comment_3432501

Survivor is explicitly a co-op role. It's right there on the game's home page. And whether you play solo or SWF, you're all still, by definition, on the same team. And being on a team comes with the good and bad points; in Team Fortress 2, you can be the best Soldier on the planet, but if your teammates are potatoes, then the opposing team can just overwhelm you with sheer numbers. But you can also be a potato Soldier who gets carried because your teammates actually know what they're doing.

I mean, unless you spend the entire match hiding in some bushes near the outskirts of the map until the hatch spawns, touching the gens intermittently to prevent the AFK crows from appearing, you're ultimately still at your teammates' mercy. At any time, the Killer might find you and down you and your teammates might leave you to die on hook.

If you want your individual skill to be the main deciding factor in whether you win or lose, you picked the wrong role. And if you don't like losing to random chance, you picked the wrong game. You and your team have had 2 chances to escape by the time the hatch is closed, and you blew it. If the third is not to your liking, then too bad. At some point, you have to let the opposing team win a game when they've won a game.

No, it isn't, it can be but people can decide to not be a team player. A soloist can have success and escape without ever being helped or helping anyone. Even so, the last survivor is a solo effort that should be more challenging but never impossible.

You're too focused on the idea of escaping, I never said anything about escaping or winning! What happened prior to that is immaterial. It doesn't matter how well or bad anyone played because the game doesn't factor that in. The point remains, the exit gate placement can be impossible for both the last survivor and The Killer. The hatch is luck based, sometimes it spawns under you and you can close it or jump in! Does the exit gate also need to be about luck?

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432494#Comment_3432494

Yeah, it's a 4v1. It's a team game, and that means it is possible to make no mistakes and still lose. Conversely, it is also possible to make multiple stupid mistakes and win anyway. Kinda like when the last Survivor gets hatch despite spending most of the match running around being useless. Don't like it? There's the "Play as Killer" button.

Again, if the exit gates are open and you're playing against an M1 Killer with no instadowns, it's the Survivors' game to lose. Literally all you have to do in order to escape is run straight towards the exit gates. If the Survivors can't do that, that says more about them than about the game.

The devs have said it can be a team game or a solo experience. It's up to you how to play. I agree with you, especially on that person getting the hatch without doing anything all game. It would be interesting if you had to earn the hatch, but I don't know what that would play like. Your situation sounds hopeless but The Killer allowed it to get to a hopeless state. The last survivor doesn't have much control over what the other players do. They also can't influence the spawning of hatch and exit gates and how you played up until that point is immaterial. And as killer, you can play exceptional and dominate and find the hatch and close it but the gates are so far apart that it's impossible for you to do anything. That also isn't good! Like I said, I don't think it should be impossible for either side. And sometimes it is.

  • @Monlyth said:

Everything you just said can be applied to the scenario you complain about. If you don't like losing to bad exit gate placement, then don't let the Killer get 3 kills.

Besides, you think you're the only one who can lose to bad exit gate placement? The difference between getting an endgame hook on the other side of the map from the exit gates and getting one right next to an opened exit gate is huge.

I have no control over the other three survivors, assuming everyone was playing as a team anyway. Even then, I've seen matches fall apart with all four survivors alive. Which goes back to my point, that these different scenarios aren't impossible. On the other hand you are in total control as The Killer. You're a team of one. I already addressed that point, the exit gates shouldn't be impossible for anyone. Both the survivors and The Killer. Maybe they should be responsive? The placement changes based on The Killer.

The guy who calls it "possible" to get a 4K as an M1 Killer when the exit gates are open and all 4 Survivors are healthy- without any form of Exposed, I might add- is saying I'm grasping at straws. When I need a big hit of copium, I'll know who to call.

Yes, it is possible. I can't help it if you perhaps lack skill, play smarter, prevent them from getting to the end game. That's the point, it might be hard but it's not impossible. Just because you feel it's hopeless, doesn't mean it's impossible. At least you have control over your anecdote. No one has control over the exit gate placement. I don't get to play well and prevent the gates from spawning on the same wall or in a position that can be watched from one location. Huge difference.

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432475#Comment_3432475

Boy, that "possible" is really putting in some work there.

So long as we're counting on the opposing team to play like complete idiots and make game-throwing blunders, I guess we can agree that it's not impossible to escape with two exit gates right next to one another, either.

You're grasping at straws but that's fine. When things are possible, anything can happen! They have to at least be possible 😅

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432469#Comment_3432469

Uh, no. It is often physically impossible for the Killer to win unless the Survivors mess up horribly. In the time it takes an M1 Killer to hit a Survivor twice (Assuming no protection hits, which is being very generous), a Survivor can easily run all the way to the exit gates from a pretty long distance. I know because I have a great deal of personal experience in this department.

Without a power that lets them push far past the normal limitations of an M1 Killer, the Killer is almost always just completely screwed if the exit gates are open and all 4 Survivors are healthy. Most Killers can only subtract a set number of health states within a set period of time.

Even if those situations feel hopeless, and sometimes they seem insurmountable, they aren't impossible. Killers can still get a 4K but I agree that it's less likely, but at least it's possible.

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432456#Comment_3432456

The game should never feel hopeless? Okay then, here's a situation where the Killer feels hopeless: The exit gates are open and all the Survivors are alive. No one is injured (Perhaps thanks to Adrenaline), and even if it was physically possible for the Killer to down someone before they reach the exit gates, Protection hits will put a stop to that.

So should every Killer just get a free NOED every time all 4 Survivors are up and running to the exit gates? The picture's pretty grim for the Killer at that point; the only thing that'll save them is an instadown power (Which they'd need to bring beforehand), or the Survivors messing up horribly.

At some point, you have to let the opposing team win a game when they've won the game.

That's a matter of skill. If the survivors were able to do all five generators and open both gates, then it's going to be difficult for The Killer to overcome that, but it's not impossible. It can definitely feel hopeless and some people will give up on either side, but that feeling doesn't mean it's impossible. It's still possible to get a 4k, you don't even need the right perks or an instadown.

On the other hand, I have no control over the exit gate placement. It has nothing to do with my skill, or what I have or haven't accomplished in the match. I could solo all five generators and the game doesn't make a distinction. The gates are in place and in some cases, ime most of the time, are so close that The Killer can watch both at the same time, thus making it impossible. The fact that something is impossible leads to a feeling of despair and hopelessness. However, feeling hopeless about a situation doesn't mean it's impossible.

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432448#Comment_3432448

If the gates are "impossibly" close together, then you got unlucky with the spawns. That's how luck works.

If you're going to talk about entitlement, why do you feel entitled to a "fair" chance to escape every match, even after the hatch is closed? It's already close to a 50/50 as to whether the Killer or Survivor will find the hatch first, so why do you feel entitled to an EGC where you always have a chance to escape?

I didn't say anything about fair. I said it's impossible, and hopeless. The game shouldn't ever feel hopeless, sure it can feel more difficult or challenging depending on the state of things, but not impossible. Luck shouldn't be involved here, the Gates shouldn't be in a position where it's impossible for either party to achieve success. I never said anything about being entitled or expected to escape. This is why it's important to read, so that you can understand what people are saying. I know there are a lot of people that think they are entitled to escape because they powered the doors or those that think they're entitled to a 4k because they killed three people, I'm not in those camps. And I recognize that some elements are RNG, but that doesn't mean everything has to be. Disagree or agree, that's fine. The whole point is to promote discussion. I don't know what people think until they post and the devs don't know what anyone thinks until we do.

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432424#Comment_3432424

Yeah, your chances of success are slim, very slim, often requiring the Killer to make serious mistakes, or for the RNG to turn out very favorably for the Survivor. As it should be; the Killer has stopped the Survivors from completing the gens AND found the hatch first. I think they've earned the right to an easy kill every now and then, unless you'd prefer they all slug for the 4K instead?

In single-player games, you're supposed to always have a chance at victory, to never be put in a no-win situation. But Dead by Daylight is a 4v1 where Survivors are supposed to stand together or die alone, and by the time the hatch has closed, they have very clearly failed to do the former. In a team game, you're supposed to win or lose as a team. If you were hoping for a single-player game where only your personal survival skills are important, then...

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XBQMFC2QCBHT/truth-is-the-game-was-rigged-from-the-start.gif

As I already said, impossible means no chance. This isn't even about luck, skill or how slim a possibility. Sometimes the exit gates are impossibly close to open. And as I already addressed twice, you're building your position on the fact that the survivors didn't complete the five generators or that they even had a chance at finding the hatch. I disagree that anyone has a right or is entitled to anything in the game. You seem to think the killer is entitled to an easy kill.

And this is nothing to do with single player games, so there's no need for conflation. My point is really clear, you don't have to agree with it but it's clear. There is no ambiguity in this topic. And the devs have indicated it's not a team game, it can be but it can also be a solo experience. That is for the survivors to decide.

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432410#Comment_3432410

That's not an impossible scenario. All you gotta do is camp one of the gates and wait for the Killer to close the hatch, or get the Killer to chase you, lose them, and then run back to the gates.

The devs have already answered this. You just didn't like the answer: You've already had two chances to escape, and missed both. If you're expecting anything better than slim chances of success, that's just egregious.

That's not even remotely true. Every match is different, you speak about them as if they are a monolith. I already acknowledged that 2 years ago the devs said they weren't worried about exit gates but that it was something they might consider in the future. I think two years is a long time, perhaps they agree that nothing needs to be changed. That's the point of these topics on the official forums.

Even in your scenario, let's say you managed to get a clean getaway. You creep your way back to one of the gates, what does the killer do? Go back to the vantage point to watch both gates. Like I said, The Killer becomes the gatekeeper, they don't have a need to search or chase you. They just have to make sure you don't go to the gate and look for that bright red light that can be seen for miles. This assumes you accomplish all of this with sufficient time to even complete the opening sequence. This is an impossible situation for the survivor.

And some say that that's fair, perhaps. But that's just an example. Since you seem to think that camping the exit gate is the key to escaping. News flash, it isn't!

  • @NerfDHalready said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432385#Comment_3432385

fair. then, along with many other people, my personal opinion is that it is way too much to ask. i don't want to see even more (or become one of the) slug for the 4k gamers.

And that is your opinion, I posted a few suggestions. Maybe they don't work, maybe they do! I remember so many feedback topics in the past where people made suggestions about nerfing DS, buffing BT, nerfing DH and people thought it was stupid and would never happen and should never happen and yet here we are. So I'm not going to be discouraged because my peers disagree or don't think something is necessary. That determination is ultimately for the developers to decide and there's precedent for them making decisions that not everyone agrees with.

Team as in swf solo as in soloQ....the game is 4 Survivors vs 1 Killer. If Survivors....all soloQ as well.... Work as a team then they can win but when even 1 person starts to "play solo" that weakens the survivors chances of escaping. By adding even a few things in your suggestions would considerably raise the chances of a Survivor getting a free escape especially if the RNG puts each door football fields apart on opposite sides of the match.

The current setup is to allow ALL Killers have a chance to defend the doors that includes Killers with no Travel based power.

Also you have said it yourself you IGNORE the hatch because you want a door escape....so your giving up on a pitty chance to escape quickly vs the game of chance with the doors.

Yes, but that is for the players to decide. At least, according to the devs, sometimes you can have success by being selfish. The current setup leaves a lot up to RNG, sometimes the gates are so far away that it does guarantee an escape. Sometimes they are so close that it guarantees you won't escape. Why is it such a problem for there to be a logic behind the placement? The gate should never be on top of each other and likewise they shouldn't be impossibly far for any killer. It should also never be hopeless for The Killer, and contrary to what you state, sometimes it is.

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432379#Comment_3432379

Indeed. And no matter how close together the gates may be, there's still plenty of opportunity for the Killer to slip up, or for the random numbers to break in your direction. Maybe the hatch spawned far away from the exit gates and you happened to be standing right next to one when it was closed.

If you're looking for a way to escape that'll work every time, that's not going to happen. DbD is a team game full of RNG; it is possible, especially as a Survivor, to make no mistakes and still lose.

There's no way to make a mistake when all you have to do is stand in one spot and watch both gates. Impossibility precludes chance, when something is impossible it simply cannot be done. Sometimes it feels hopeless, and perhaps that is by design, the devs should offer us insight into the process.

  • @NerfDHalready said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432376#Comment_3432376

devs have thought gates are fine as is. if we are to put logic aside now

They last said that two years ago. Nothing is set in stone, hence feedback and conversation.

  • @Monlyth said:

The devs have made it pretty clear that the odds are supposed to be stacked against the last Survivor after the Hatch is closed. By that point, the Survivors have already had two separate chances to escape (Gens, hatch), and failed both.

Impossible and odds stacked against are two different things.

  • @Yippiekiyah said:

So you didnt power the gens or find the hatch but you still want a guaranteed escape? Dedicate a perk slot to sole survivor if its that much of an issue.

because you can't "solo-deserve?" a win in a team game, shouldn't at least. if survivors win, they can get a door with multiple people alive and get someone escape.

Who says it's a team game? The devs have said you can play it as a team or solo.

  • @GrimReaperJr1232 said:

How do tunneling and Sloppy relate exactly? If you can't heal, OtR has you covered.

Well you can't heal mid chase, something that some players are capable of doing. That made tunneling a little palatable at times. You could heal during the chase and then make a getaway. OTR can be hit or miss.

  • @NerfDHalready said:

there is no way you are this insistent on your undeserved win. you couldn't do your objective, you couldn't find hatch and you still get your chance to get doors, lol. it's a team game and you lost as a team, deal with it.

the gates are almost never a problem if there are multiple people doing them so i am assuming you aren't complaining about that.

More of that killer logic! Why do you assume I anticipate an undeserved win? How do you know I'm in a position that is unworthy of escape? It can be a team game but it can also be a solo game, per the devs.

How do you know I wasn't able to do my objective? How do you know I couldn't find the hatch? How do you know that the hatch didn't spawn right under the killer? Or that the killer isn't camping it? Like I said previously, I have often found the hatch but chose not to go in it for many reasons. I know some people who specifically avoid the hatch because they want to progress their MMR. Being the last one doesn't necessarily mean anything, but you assume it means that you were terrible and didn't earn the escape and therefore should die and that's the problem!

  • More of this killer logic. How did I lose exactly? I'm still alive. The killer doesn't win because three people are dead, likewise, the survivors don't win because the exit gates are powered or even opened. Things can be challenging and difficult but should rarely be impossible or hopeless. That's what a lot of the exit gate placement becomes. If the killer can watch both gates at the same time, then there's no hope of being able to open it. The other point is that you make a lot of assumptions about why I'm in this state of the match, which is typical of that killer logic. The reason is immaterial, every player should feel they have a chance to succeed until it's over. And the game isn't over until it's over!

I think the principal point of the hatch is to provide hope, without hope there's less incentive or motivation for people to complete the match. I don't view it as a pity, I can't remember the devs ever indicating that it was to pity the survivor.

If anything, the EGC provides a free kill. During the collapse, the killer doesn't even have to play killer, they just have to play gatekeeper. The entity will provide them with full credit for a kill they had nothing to do with.

  • @fussy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3432247#Comment_3432247

Big facts. Please devs give me guaranteed escape, when my team lost a match and i didn't get luck with a hatch. What a nonsense, lol.

The problem is that your premise is based on a false assumption. No one's looking for a free escape, I never go for the hatch. I find the hatch and I leave it because I like going for the door. Besides the doors the only way to progress your MMR for those that care about it. I just like the challenge of trying to get the door over looking for the hatch. The other thing is that it's the same scenario if you've completed all five generators yourself. I've been in matches with Soul Survivor and The Killer's camping the hatch, which favors The Killer's interaction with closing it over you jumping in. And I've done two generators as last one but the exit gates were so close that it was impossible to escape. I didn't say it was difficult or challenging, I said impossible. The Killer could stand in one spot and see both gates, nothing I could do at that point.

  • When they get rid of Favor The Killer, then the conversation about fairness and balance can really begin.

  • Nothing should be guaranteed and you're not entitled to anything in the game. Even if you wiped all three survivors before they completed one gen, that doesn't mean you're entitled to a 4K. That's the problem with the logic, people think they are entitled to things they haven't yet done. The game owes you nothing. Besides, people often forget that there has to be hope, even if the hope is slim. Otherwise there's no reason for people to keep playing if their fate is sealed. EGC is about providing hope and a reason for the last one or two survivors to remain in the match. It's not supposed to be something that favors The Killer and guarantees a 4K. Sometimes the gates spawn impossibly far, but a lot of times they spawn impossibly close, there needs to be lower and upper limits so that it's fair and hopeful for both sides.

  • Wait, did they announce they're finally getting rid of Favor The Killer? Moving hit authority (not to be confused with limited validation) to the server, would be a welcomed change! Right now every killer benefits from a perpetual network advantage in every trial over every survivor.

  • @Nirgendwohin said:

the ping component should be removed. i got grabbed far too often even though the other survivor has already unhooked and runs away.

That's the problem with Favor The Killer in general! The game needs to move to server authority. I know the devs like to justify it because most FPS shooters use Favor The Shooter for their network philosophy but in a shooter, everyone is eventually the shooter. In DbD, only one person is The Killer who has a perpetual network advantage over all four survivors.

About xDefiant - that game was designed with cross-progression in mind from the start. DBD was not. It's not so simple to add it when the game has been out for 7 years.

It's probably Sony, they have a history of holding out on cross progression unless they get concessions. They want something, probably that DLCs and currency purchased on other platforms aren't accessible on PlayStation consoles. Nintendo usually has the same condition.

The other issue is that the devs are likely dealing with spaghetti code and it might be difficult to implement exceptions to any cross progression system.

  • I would bet that The Rift participation numbers were in the toilet, engagement levels are low and so they are desperate to inflate the numbers this season. Perhaps if they made the items actually forever exclusives, more people would feel compelled to purchase and participate in The Rift every season.

  • Yeah, I agree. They need to remove the P1 requirement. I must have misread because I thought we could click one button and it would burn all the points from one to 50. So you have to do each level? That saves some time but it's still not quite what I thought it was going to be.

  • Numbers must be low for Rift participation. Not surprised since the rewards aren't exclusive, little incentive to grind it out

This is not holding the game hostage. Whilst the killer could have closed the hatch - you could also have finished completing gens, it's more of a standoff here, as both of you could have done things to progess the game, but you both chose not to. We would not action such a report.

I had one where the hatch was on a hill and The Killer could watch all three generators. So effectively I couldn't do anything. Fortunately I was running Wake-up and Spine Chill so was able to open the door after he decided to finally close the hatch.

Why doesn't the hatch automatically close after a period of time? That would eliminate these scenarios. Either the survivor escapes, The Killer closes hatch, or The Entity closes the hatch after 3 minutes? The devs seem to pretend to be so concerned about not wasting time and moving on to the next match, but they still leave things like this in place that serve no purpose.

Yeah, it has to be some type of auto-spend or quick buy feature. Anything else would just be cruel; but then what else could it be? 6.7 is already looking good.

    Is 6.7 tomorrow?

It was one of the most overpowered perk in the game, injured survivors had no sound whatsoever

Not for me. I sometimes can't use my headset, so began using Bloodhound which provides amazing tracking. People are often shocked that you find them hiding in a bush - totally silent with old IW - and don't expect it.

  • @Mandy said:

I think there's a misconception here, we're adjusting the audio sounds so that survivors will have roughly equal sounds however, that might be an increase to some or a decrease to others, we did not say we were making survivors quieter.

Iron Will is not supposed to make survivors completely silent.

Add an interval to the whining. There's no need for injuries to result in perpetual crying using the same three-second clip. Crying and whining should occur at set intervals.

"He was really toxic from the start of the match so killed myself"

Then he didn't tunnel or camp you, because you were on first hook. Then you tried to give up, and the killer wouldn't let you. I do this too if a survivor tries to give up. Its BS, it denies me bloodpoints, it denies their team a chance at winning, and i honestly think it should be bannable.

Better question you should ask yourself. What did you do to get tunneled and camped? Do you run dead hard? Because the best counter to deadhard is to tunnel someone off the hook, hit them, so they get deep wounds, and now instead of dealing with 3 health states, you only have to deal with 1.

Try running perks that discourage the killer from tunneling you, not encouraging it. Run off the record, have your friend run borrowed time, run decisive strike.

I just had to laugh at your advice at the end! DS? Totally useless even when paired with Parental Guidance. Most killers wait out BT, making the 10 seconds negligible. It basically just delays the inevitable, does little in the way of assisting with tunneling with camping. No, don't get me wrong, these perks and others can help in certain very specific circumstances where the planets are perfectly aligned, but don't act like this is the definitive answer to tunneling!

Something is up when it gets to 1000.

I've seen it with The Killer. You get the latency icon with the knife, and you can feel The Killer's lag, yet nothing is done. Every hit prevails. My fave is using Lithe, Dance With Me, and Quick & Quiet versus The Mastermind. You successfully use Lithe, have your three CDs, and then he uses Bound, and you're snapped back into the other side of the vault while Exhausted.

  • The devs are in bed with laggers. Hit Validation is a paper tiger. I don't expect much will be done.

youre leaving out something crucial-what perks was HE using?

He was running Pain Resonance, Call of Brine, Corrupt Intervention and Eruption. He was also using Summoning Stone and Adrenaline Vial. The two friends had tokens left, they were the ones who actually noticed the suspicious behavior. I was surprised that he still found me even with Smash Hit and Parental Guidance, but I just assumed that was a lucky guess or perhaps he had seen me. However, the other two there was absolutely no way he would know where they were, especially the person near the totem really far away. He specifically and deliberately went to that exact pile of junk to find him. This wasn't one or two or even three lucky guesses, it appeared that he knew where everyone was in perpetuity. It was a culmination of factors that resulted in me thinking that perhaps he was cheating or there was some kind of exploit involved. It's not a charge I throw out lightly, and I was mainly interested if such a cheat or exploit exist. Again, I'm not encouraging people to proliferate it, we were just really curious since it was highly suspicious behavior.

  • Prior to July I would sometimes see two gen regression perks, ever since then, it's usually three to four almost every game. The changes that were supposed to promote and encourage variety and less focus on regression perks, actually made things worse! I'm also seeing more killers protect a three generator area from the start. Previously. In my experience it was the survivors that created that issue, but now killers are inducing it from the start. There's only so much you could do, even if you stay in the area and try to focus the generators you don't always have success with how long they take to complete and how many perks they run to regress them like Call of Brine! Most of them don't even leave that area, not even to down you. The game basically becomes a finish one of the three gens in the same 30 m radius before everyone is dead! Generator placements need to be way more spaced, there should not be a place where two or more generators are that close. That's the problem, the procedural RNG aspect.

  • This is why I wish they would introduce console only crossplay. Join the ranks of other big titles like Overwatch, Fortnite and Destiny! I ran into a hacking wraith. It was pretty fun, he was just appear and teleport to the rooftop of different buildings so the view was nice. If you drop back down and try to work on a generator, he would just teleport to you and put you right back up there. Everyone ended up disconnecting and we stopped playing at that point because it was taking too long and he was holding us hostage. I used to think reporting actually accomplished something, but seeing how the staff never respond to any of my reports, even those with videos and other evidence. I don't even waste my time anymore!

  • People want to talk about physics and being realistic, what about the killer carrying somebody who struggling with all their might and dropping at great heights and nothing happening? The killer just lands and glides forward lol

  • I'm always at 50 to 100% for survivors almost all day every day. I have seen 25% for killers a few times. So my server and MMR needs survivors!

  • @RainehDaze said:

Ah yes, all gens should be super far apart instead of addressing perk balance. This is a well thought out and not at all hasty plan that completely misses how maps with spread-out gens like that because of size already penalise low-movement Killers a ton.

And now you want to arbitrarily space them out further.

    Haha, no.

I always hear this and it changes nothing. Everyone wants more and still resorts to those tactics. Some high-mobility killers will still patrol and protect a three gen. Same with tunneling, slugging, and camping. These are the go-to tactics of many. The devs made gens slower, and still, we see gen regression perks in every trial. I'm not convinced more buffs will promote new playstyles.
