Then why is the mage hand presumably getting nerfed outside of the enduring "tech"?

is it? honestly i haven't played the game since the release so don't know much. it does seem to be in good place, hopefully they don't make it useless.

  • @radiantHero23 said:

The enduring stuff should absolutely go. Otherwise, no further nerfs are needed.

yup, playing for stun is the counterplay if you have no distance and spell still going off after a stun removes any potential counterplay, except praying to get that 7% haste magic item.

  • i've always found saying devs favor one side ridiculous but i'll start feeling that way if they ever decide to nerf knock out of all perks. that would be the evidence for me that they are trying to force killer's hand and make the game play as survivors ever wish, nothing to do with killer decisions.

first they buffed otr because they wanted ds out of meta and make otr an alternative, and now with buffed back ds we have both for some unknown reason.

they added gen block and anti camp mechanics

they nerfed all meaningful hook-based gen slowdown

    they buffed sabo like crazy

and now we are crying about knock out and slugging when it's a pure skill issue to get 4 man slugged, by a ghostface too. i'll say it like some survivor players love to say: what do you want the killers to do, stand still and let you go?

I simply dont understand why you are against Survivor-Killer-Interaction. Because this is what that is. Same with Flashlights. Just doing Gens and not interacting with the Killer or only as little as possible cannot really be the desired gameplay you want.

And if they throw Survivors a bone so that they try to do more sabotage (which is still weak, I wont change my mind on that) is a good thing.

the point of a sabo play is either to let the other survivor wiggle (which is a result of killer mistake) or make the killer drop them; and now you can achieve that 100% of the time if you know what you are doing, for free. the argument isn't if that "achievement" is strong or not, issue is now you always get to do it w/o going down yourself.

if sabo gets its job done 100% of the time no matter what the killer does, it's problematic. but if the plan is to introduce sabo playstyle to the playerbase with those overblown buffs and nerf them back later eventually, i'd be down for it, sure.

also i actually don't want player interaction if it's some bs like ftp buckle up, a guaranteed sabo or a pallet save from someone halfway across the map.

You heard it here folks - Killers prefer genrushing Survivors.

if you aren't here for a useful discussion you could've stated that way earlier so i wouldn't bother explaining my point to you with 3 replies.

+i'd rather survivors play normally than use (for example) 3rd party programs and mess with me

It's not good though it takes a survivor off a gen and unless you're in the corner there's always another hook you can go for while they sabo the closest one. People are melting down over nothing.

they do but i genuinely don't think this is one of them.

a second hook won't be possible if they aren't super close and the sabo person has break out. the sabo player doesn't even need to trade a down for it too.

  • @Yharwick said:

Weird how these changes have been out for almost 24 hours and we're still complaining about them being broken only in theory. Like gd first people complain about toolboxes making gen times too fast then when BHVR buffs them slightly to be used for sabos (and therefore not using them for gens) instead that's somehow the end of hooking anyone ever.

Can we pick a struggle please?

how many times do you need to experience it before you realize it's some nonsense? like, i didn't use to face ftp buckle up all that much either so in practice it wasn't the end of the world but does that change the fact it still was ridiculous?

it doesn't require incredible set ups and is consistent, that should be more than enough.

I pick a survivor up, walk for 3sec and see you sabo hook#1. Then I just go for hook#2. I still have 13sec left to walk to a hook. Even if you tank a hit, I still have 9sec left.

When a sabo requires a health state, its already worse than a flashlight save.

new sabo speed buffs change nothing in that scenario. here is how it can be done and be problematic:

1- hover until survivor is picked

2- see which hook killer is gonna go, you will always be there first with bgp

3- tank a hit under it, you don't ever need to pre sabo and risk them go to another hook

    4- sabo the hook

5- leave the area safely :) since killer won't be able to hit a 2nd time before you are done

    6- heal and repeat

    Lets compare

    Sabo save requires:

    1. Carried survivor has Boilover
    2. A survivor has Sabo and/or toolbox to sabo a targeted hook, not any.
    3. Another survivor has Sano and/or toolbox to sabo another targeted hook
    4. Third survivor has Breakout
    5. Take a hit
    6. Take a second hit
    7. Hook spawn offering

Survivors need to have at least 3 or 4 out of these 6 things to success.

    Flashlight save requires:

    1. A survivor has flashlight
    2. Background player

The effort and requirements for a Sabo save is far greater than Flashlight save. But somehow killers see Sabo save a problem.

i'll copy and paste: "sabo isn't weak anymore, it had to be smart and preemptively done or it's a trade. that is not the case anymore, you can tank a hit under any hook killer decides to go esp with bgp, sabo the hook and get out safely."

so you only need 1 survivor with a dedicated build and 2 or 3 hooks to not spawn 10 meters apart which is super rare, almost exclusive to dds. sabo set ups never needed boil over also what? that smells like a max 1k hour squad trying out a full on overkill sabo build.

If more people engage with the Killer instead of just sticking to Gens when not being chased, this is a good thing. I still think that just doing Gens instead of doing or creating any Side Objectives when playing Survivor is the better play, but Sabotage is one form of interaction between Killer and Survivor. And it is good that the Devs try to get more people to do that.

Sabotage is still weak, because it has to be weak. But I dont think that it is overall that negative if Survivors get to do a sabo-play here and there against a Killer. If a Killer plays against a Sabo-Team, they will most likely win anyway (even without having to slug everyone, as some people here claim).

i'd rather them be on gens than getting almost a guaranteed rescue, completely denying me MY objective. only 1 sabo player is enough they don't have to be a full team.

sabo isn't weak anymore, it had to be smart and preemptively done or it's a trade. that is not the case anymore, you can tank a hit under any hook killer decides to go esp with bgp, sabo the hook and get out safely. no hook req dh was super annoying because of sabos also, since it granted that safety 100% of the time.

I thought I see some gameplay where they are actually used against you, but no, only a complaint about the Patchnotes.

I have not seen sabo-toolboxes once yesterday. For something which seems to be busted (according to the Forums), quite odd.

a healthy sabotage player can sabo the hook after getting hit without trading the down. don't want to be offensive but if you think that's ok idk what to tell you.

  • they need to categorize gen slowdown perks and limit the number of them killers can run, buff most of them and gut toolboxes.

  • i've always been a both sides player so never experienced that sort of an enlightenment but playing both sides help a lot with sympathizing with others, appreciating their skill but especially learning mind games and how to run tiles against/as certain killers.

also sorry not sorry but the most biased nonsense feedback comes from "hardcore" one side players. screw long game hours, both sides players' opinions even with minimal gaming hours mean more to me.

  • vault slaps are weird yes, would bounce off when the survivor isn't even halfway on the other side.

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

OTR is definitely dummy strong. If someone bodyboocks with BT just tunnel them out lol. BT is meant to be used to get away from a tunneling killer, if they use it to protect a teammate then just punish them for it. I do it all the time lol! You will get a lot of hate for it though😂

issue isn't otr's strength against straight tunneling let me clarify by the way, it's the fact it can be used to threaten an unhook, hover for saves and of course to bodyblock.

not saying tunneling doesn't make the game easier in majority of matches, but i don't share the idea that tunneling is some sort of ace in a killer's sleeve they can resort to in difficult situations or to "punish" survivors. besides, body blocking with bt most of the time is not a balance issue in itself but a frustration. obviously i don't want that in a video game or to play the game in certain ways out of spite.

Yet the question we asked was "outa curiosity, if they body block you whats forcing you to pick them up?"

Gonna be honest here, we're unsure as to what the complaining is about so we're going to do this piece by piece.

"them hopping locker is what prevents me from slugging them." Then grab them and eat DS if they have it. They wont have it later then. Survivors can already do this currently. Did we miss something here cause neither the comment we first asked nor the responses we're getting is changing much?

"the entire point of the post is "only the so much time" bodyblocking with FREE, basekit bt buys while killer can't do much about it." Yes survivors can buy a little bit of time. Is this realy that much of a problem? Your not fine with it, thats fair, we're ok with it, thats fair. Survivors can also do this simply by equipping OTR as you've pointed "sources that prevent them from going down like basekit bt and otr".

From what we see of the original post, you just don't want DS to work with body blocking. Thats fair, but we ultimately don't care as we only asked the question above which we'll restate: "outa curiosity, if they body block you whats forcing you to pick them up?" If they down the body block, they can slug, if they go into a locker you can eat the DS now or leave them to try something else (mindgame the punk in the locker, go harass the others, yada yada), hell you can simply swat the bodyblock and still go to the unhooker.

i'm so sorry but can't go through every point. i'll have to assume this quick little response explains a good chunk of my concerns though: they still can bodyblock with their stuff currently but they aren't protected by a 5 seconds stun and can be punished more easily for going into deep wounds for no reason (like wasting their otr just to bodyblock, giving the endurance hit for free).

  • @Rulebreaker said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3687566#Comment_3687566

So what we heard was "Nothing is forcing you to pick up a survivor".

Pressure is pressure. Your free to eat it up while chasing the unhooker as it only buys so much time (with an adition of the unhooked will have to mend). If your insisting on chasing the unhooked after watching them eat a hit, you should probably be aware that DS has always been a thing (and is probably going to see a increase) and thats your conscious choice so if they hop in a locker then you got the choice to (most likely) eat DS now so they wont have it later or leave em be (it does still deactivate when the survivor does anything and in endgame). We used to just swat the bodyblockers who made it obvious and keep after the unhooker.

"To play the game your to try to make the best of a bad situation." - paraphrased of some smart player we forgot the name of

them hopping locker is what prevents me from slugging them. the entire point of the post is "only the so much time" bodyblocking with FREE, basekit bt buys while killer can't do much about it.

  • you didn't need precise timing with the dash and had guaranteed value.

  • @Rulebreaker said:

outa curiosity, if they body block you whats forcing you to pick them up?

sources that prevent them from going down like basekit bt and otr. you either eat it up and move on or commit to them instead since the other option is another healthy survivor and eat ds. you can slug them but slug pressure isn't as big as a second hook state (since you already had to commit to a chase) if there is no opportunity to snowball, putting killer in an almost lose lose situation. not to mention they can just hop locker after tanking the hit even denying the slug pressure unless you want to wait at the locker for 20s.

Again I am playing the kindest I can be with this event, like look at my gameplay video example, the only time I slugged was Bill and I judged slugging was acceptable as there was a Feng 2 meters from me.

I am not slugging(in the sense of slugging to win), I am leaving hooks to give people a chance. I'm making sure I don't camp, and I don't tunnel, but BP gains are still bad because my Billy ends chases too quickly.

steamroll games don't give much to anybody regardless of who wins and i'm glad it's this way so people aren't even further inclined to win like that with full gen rush builds or speed running with a snowball nurse build. at least killers still get the better end of the deal: they might get more than quadruple the amount a survivor gets whereas in a gen rush match killer might even get the same amount of bps as survivors.

  • this only affects comms and rare wicked value. seems like such an unnecessary nerf to the status effect, like what blindness source lasts more than 30 seconds and isn't halfway gone by the time you are on the hook?

gift of pain was already nerfed with the sloppy changes and it’s impossible to trigger its secondary effect with how survivors constantly bodyblock off hook to delete the penalty or stay injured for the whole game and preventing its secondary effect from ever happening so no point in nerfing it further to make it disable after a first death or even making it token based

and I disagree with NWO change idea

I run this perk on phead and it’s a nightmare to get full stacks when you’re using your base special hook ability

i'm talking about pain res, grim and no way out. pphead struggles to utilize hook perks that's a given unfortunately.

  • event visuals are AWFUL and event overall is super performance-demanding, my pc is going insane.

  • i see this as just a flex but in case you seek actual answers, make wrong decisions like leaving an area with a hook and a slugged survivor so they can recover. if you take the 4 slug when the opportunity rises, game obviously pre-emptively ends. you might want to not run the most hated perks like grim and pain res if you get people hook suicide a lot.

  • disabling is irrelevant when she puts all her drones in any and every area survivors can run when she arrives at her 3 gen. you can't run around disable drones every 45 seconds.

People say that 3% was so overwhelming but hello, Boon: Dark Theory is a thing and in some ways better than MfT was (no risk as it doesn’t require injury for the haste boost). Why don’t I see killers complaining about it?

because finding and blessing a totem and somehow keeping the entire chase around that isn't as reliable and easy as... getting hit. plus that's a 33% weaker haste.

  • i've been getting destroyed exceptionally and i can never tell if it's some subtle cheater like a wallhacker because cheating is so common nowadays, and it's killing me. other than that i don't share the experiences, hope it gets a bit better so you can find more fun at least during the event.

  • it has 3 requirements to activate: you shouldn't be exhausted, you need to be in the locker for at least 3 seconds and you need to not have afk crows. if you can't use it despite meeting the requirements, i'd record a clip and send it to bug section of the forum.

  • it's still strong and does see lots of use so i'll have to disagree.

Who submitted the report? The Survivor or the Killer?

Even if the Survivor wasn't "wrong", to brag about it gives off the vibes of two children fighting at school with one getting punished and the other being smug about getting off scot-free.

yes it was the survivor and yes they were bragging about it. bet they were teacher's pet in their school years, gives that exact vibe.

I don't think it should be bannable for either survivor or killer. Lockers are pretty much the only counter to Tombstone, so stalemates like this are inevitable at times. There's no rule against being petty. If they both wanted to waste a half hour of each other's time then I say let them. BHVR should have just disregarded the report.

    exactly.

  • @KateMain86 said:

The survivor should not be forced to exit the locker and be hit with the tombstone. The killer however had every means to end the match by grabbing the survivor from the locker and refused to do it. That is taking the game hostage. It doesn't matter if they were trying to get an achievement. The survivor is not obligated to give that to them.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3681581#Comment_3681581

The killer player is entirely in the wrong here. Lockers are the counter play to tombstone. The survivor is not obligated to give that to them no matter the reason. If nothing was done in these situations it would be common.

the survivor isn't obligated to leave the locker but leaving the locker would end the game and they made their choice.

  • @Hannacia said:

I think both of them should have gotten banned, or only the survivor. He was being petty and denying the possible achievement the Myers was maybe after. He's also bragging about being petty and horrible person in twitter. He could have come out of the locker, but literally refused and then pretended to be the victim.

Behaviour you screwed up with this one.

i mean that's an agreement between the two, survivor wants to be petty and myers wants to get his achievement and they both hold the ability to end it anytime they want. neither should've gotten banned but i just want a clarification since that's not holding anyone hostage yet a player got banned.

  • i'll just repeat what most people already pointed out: haddie's calendar, toy sword, map of the realm, uncloak speed for wraith, chili, charge speed for pig if you're ever planning to use her ambush, mischief list, range for pphead, at least one of the turret add ons for xeno, soma photo and i guess skull merchant's add on that reduces survivors' immunity to scans but who cares.

  • idk i just want a practice mode where gens won't progress.

and ability to add a bot killer that will just afk so i can practice fast vaults and stuff as survivor.

They seem to get refunded, like how a "survivors spawn in pairs" offering gets refunded if one of your teammates brings a "all survivors spawn together" offering. At least, when I saw someone bring one into a streamer's game it played the "refunding offering" animation. Still stinks that you don't get the bonus, but you didn't lose the offering.

oh the offering flying off the screen is "refunded" animation?? lmao always thought that was a bug.

saw the match live, survivors players played extremely safe and he didn't tunnel when it's given to him in a silver platter. he paid for it.

-A European 4-stack's survivor winstreak (3+ escape) ended at 171 wins

Specific names are not mentioned just to be extra careful about the rules, but anyone active in the community who's familiar with content creators will know who is responsible for each of those streaks.

There's maybe a few things worth discussing about this, such as how big some of those numbers are, how interesting it is they all ended within a few days of each other after running for months on end, etc. Would love to see the community's input on those three streaks ending.

they all breaking after cheating went rampant feels suspicious.

not much else to say, winstreaks aren't fun for the other side and not that impressive really so it's a silly idea. wish people stopped doing them.
