There is bunch of times where I get a random DC, but generally it's not with DC penalty and basically all survivors loses BP too
-
Honestly no, he wasn't that strong from the start, for some reason he got nerfed too
Probably wouldn't really worth your time or effort
-
He lost his only strength (which was, in fact, pretty weak too) and got basically nothing in compensation, certainly a nerf, already bad killer somehow got worse

Probably the tone more than anything.
The title can come off the wrong way, the "we are in July" part could come off condescending, as if you were saying "it has been enough time, why cant you hurry up" or something of the sort. Even if that was not your intent, things can be perceived in a way beyond what you were intending, it just happens.
Also I would be careful when you @ a moderator, a lot of them are really busy (mostly dealing with reports and checking threads) and I find it is best to not bother them or their work.
I don't understand, community fighting each other with all that stupid us vs them and increasing toxicity 24/7 is completely fine, yet somehow if it's even slightly condescending against BHVR themselves, it'll immediately be closed?

Please explain to me what other possible interpretation there is here?
They said: "survivors do and absolutely will camp in the hatch for 10 minutes." Personally, I thought they were talking about the same thing I talked about in my earlier post: the last survivor alive sitting on the open hatch for 10+ minutes teabagging waiting for the killer to come over and see them escape.
That was my interpretation, anyway.
And before someone says "just go hit them", at that point it takes basically same effort as slugging for 4k, there is no reason to choose it instead of simple 4k which rewards you

Killers should have more skill than needing to rely on toxic strategies. If you can't get a 1 - 4K without slugging, tunneling, or camping, then you just suck.
And same can be said to anyone losing to those strategy
Being slugged is clearly a lack of skills, not being able to counter camping is obviously a skill issue, and tunneling is only a problem if you down so fast, it's all survivors "just suck"
Survivors should have more skill than needing to rely on "fair matches", aka killers not playing seriously, I mean asking for other sides to intentionally play poorly in PvP game is really ridiculous

Someone running trapper without perks can beat a full SWF team, right?
So the game is killer sided
That's incorrect, and the conclusion is kinda ridiculous

You can't control SBMM and to be honest I think it takes a backseat to geographic location first. When the matchmaking is off and imbalanced most the time it is in the killers favor. Especially when it is the solo queue lobby. As a killer you can tell very quickly if you are playing solo queue or SWF. If you know people are in it to win it then play to win but if your playing to get blood points then have some fun and play out the game. I truly believe I can have a fun game and still not win. Wish the killer mentality understood that too
By the time you tell if you are fighting against SWF or not, it's generally too late to do anything meaningful
It's not like killer is a power role and ALWAYS has a time to do anything at will, "wish the survivors mentality understood that too" with your words

I mean, they don't have to keep every power for every year. Exposed on Bloodlust was replaced with Remote Hook. A similar thing could easily happen here.
So killer gets a stronger power, pretty sure you or anyone would complain again
It's pointless tbh
-
I know, the fact majority of survivors not even bringing OTR really tells there is not much of tunneling from the beginning
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3753095#Comment_3753095
It really can't, since they're not really applicable to basically every loop in the game.
But survivors also have plenty of powers (block for windows, pallet for pallets, and quiet for basically everywhere), ultimately they can do something at everywhere, which is not the case for killers because all they have is pallet break and mostly useless endurance
not to mention the fact not every strong loop is pallet dependent, so if it has to be "basically every loop" that is not true for pallet breaks too
Keeping benefit for one side and ditching other is just simply ridiculous, no power or all power, pick one
I'll happily play the event with just BP bonuses
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3753087#Comment_3753087
I mean, it is a little gamebreaking when you give killers the ability to remotely destroy pallets when they don't usually have it. It instantly takes a pallet out of play for the Survivor, since they can't vault it. Also Killers that have the ability to chew through pallets quickly generally still have to perform their breaking animation, albeit faster. Remote breaks are just tap a button and go.
I know it's not a permanent gameplay addition, I didn't need to be reminded of that, that's why I said can we ditch it next year. Event abilities should be things that spice up the regular gameplay a bit, but shouldn't be too powerful as to make things boring.
Same can be said to literally every survivor power, even if situational, if we gonna go "that" route, only way is to simply remove all the bonuses from the event
-
I'm gonna suspect those people weren't really playing the game from beginning, two minutes and no gens done is something really weird
-

I'm sure its a mixture of these issues. Hook rushing, too. It's not all killer related in the slightest, but the slugging has been abysmal. I literally thanked a killer in EGC today because he downed me and ran off to find others, but came back and hooked me. That shouldn't be as rare as it is.
Hook rushing makes more sense because hooking now takes lot less time, it just doesn't makes sense to get slugged that much in a gamemode where there is innate unbreakable for everyone (even though it's not common)
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3753069#Comment_3753069
The Survivor powers are generally more situational. They CAN be very good, but the remote pallet break is good in basically every single scenario, in a boring way.
The Survivor powers haven't been giving me nearly as much trouble when I've been playing Killer, but the same can't be said for the other way around. I'm pretty sure Survivor event queue has been at 150% BP incentive for basically the entire event.
Situational or not, since it can be very good and uncounterable it deserves to be removed together
Whether you got a problem or not is irrelevant, objectively speaking they give plenty of advantage
And no, survivor event queue has been fluctuating every day, probably due to skill level of survivors in my region/mmr or something
-
In my opinion, killers downing survivors should be rewarded, they did pretty good job
And especially when they down many survivors at once, they should be rewarded a lot because they have done something that is nearly impossible to do, you know how great that is
-
Then probably lot of survivor power would be removed, since they are also pretty strong
Maybe we should just make it a 500% BP events with skins, I doubt anyone loves the event power at this point

This has not been the case during the event in my experience. It's not every game, but I'd put it at 25-33% are 4 person slugs at 4 or 5 gens. It's objectively pretty bad right now. I'm reserving my overall judgement though until a week or two after the event. I'm hoping everything calms back down with regular matchmaking.
That's probably just survivors not even doing the gen, I suppose
Objectively speaking, there is no way everyone is slugged within 1 gens done, the slowdown is absolute minimum for slugging and invitation helps only so much for it
Not to mention the risk of everyone getting back with event power, the fact you'll match with slugging killers that much is ridiculous, are you sure survivors are not swarming into killers to do tomes or something
-
It's ridiculous this anger is not against survivor who destroyed the match, but rather the killer who is just playing as intended

I recently had a game with a Bot.
The Bot was significantly better than all the human players in terms of mechanical skill.
I mean, 180-Turn into instant blind, perfect shack loops, ability to deny shack mindgames, timing the Event-Window-Block perfectly to get to the next tile.
Like solid stuff that a lot of survivors I face dont manage.
They are also acceptable at juking ranged killers.
In the end, it was a 2v1 against the bot and one human.
And I was unsure what to do.
Focus on the human, potentially letting the bot escape through hatch? (aka being beaten by a bot)
Or focus on the bot, potentially being subjected to "you focused the bot because it was the easier target ey?"
Got the 4K in the end. But at no point have I considered whether I was "teaming" with the bot.
The AI doesnt really need Improvement. You need to reflect on whether you can take advantage of the bot.
You know what.
Your Statement is like saying:
"Survivors are exploiting bots! They are letting Bots die on hook, rather than risk unhooking!""acceptable at juking ranged killers", heh
I remember the time they were unacceptably good at it

Game after game of the entire team dying with 4 or 5 gens left. Killers finding and downing survivors within the first 20 seconds of the game starting. Barely even being able to do gens because we practically start off on the back-foot and are just unhooking and healing all game.
This sound like a massive skill issue. I checked streams of survivor mains and losing at 4-5 gens is uncommon.
Yeah, even if you simply ignore first hooked person it should ends at 3 gen remaining minimum
-
Statistics spoofing or something, maybe
They are clearly breaking the rules and would be banned with video record I guess
-
Most of the killers have plenty of minus to their power still, though
Statistically speaking, pretty much none of instant down is unfair, passive slowdown from power is
And also you are never meant to "avoid inevitable", everything survivor does ultimately "only delays the inevitable" unless they finish all gens
-
It's not exactly "killer sided" par se, just that killers can do little more without perks, it's more of a "super basekit" for both survivors and killers that helps in mostly anything

Yeah, good point. When there's only 2 survivors left, the survivors should just give up and let the killer kill them. Also, since winning with a survivor down early is basically impossible, when there's 3 survivors left the survivors should just give up and let the killer kill them. Also, since it's trivially easy to tunnel someone out of the game early most of the time, getting to 3 survivors left is basically guaranteed so when there's 4 survivors left the survivors should just give up and let the killer kill them. Anything else is just survivor entitlement asking for free wins, really
…I trust you recognize this is a joke, and understand what the joke is.
Question, if I don't play stealth when there are only 2 survivors left - Just play the game normally, work on a gen, and if the killer finds me so be it - am I allowed to call killers who slug for the 4k when they don't know where the last survivor is "thirsty as heck", or am I still a toxic survivor main asking for free escapes?
You may be different, doesn't matter when majority is not
Please try to actually read the post, your reply doesn't make any sense, at all

It's down to the individual ultimately. I'll go for 4k after downing the third if I know they are nearby and where they are roughly. I know thay's not the type of 4k you're talking about and I do think it's a waste of time hunting for a fourth when there's no sight of them.
As an example, I took on a Dredge recently. Nothing really wrong with them. Of anything the other Kate was the problem as she tried to make noises tp give away my position. When Dredge arrived, she tried to point me out but Dredge was having none of it. I fled to the otherside of the map and Kate went down. I expected Dredge to pick her up but it never happened, and after what she had tried to do there was no way I was getting her back up, even when she crawled towards me. Anyway, she bled out and I found the hatch. That was a lot of time wasted when - if Dredge had just hooked her - it wasn't too far from the Hatch spawn!
Basically, the main problem with hunting for that 4K is a great deal of time is wasted when we could all be in other games. In the end, Dredge didn't get that 4k, but could have had it any other game. I don't blame killers for doing it, nor should we be doing that. However, it doesn't make sense to me to spend way too much time doing pretty much bugger-all, playing hide-n-seek. I just hook and see what happens. I get 4Ks happily enough that I know one trial seeking for the missing fourth doesn't matter.
Imo, some killer just like playing hide'n'seek with no time pressure, that's the thing

The event itself is pretty much favoring killers. They get more value from speedboosts, can see survivors interacting with totems (+ time waste for surivors), survivors waste time for event chests, killers get instadowns on heal/exposed, which hurts survivors more often than it helps, and you get an insane free pallet break. This event is almost entirely in favor of killers. And I do not understand how this could have even happened.
And the game is too. >60% kill rate is proof enough to be in favor of killers. There is no denying this ingloriuos fact. Having a two-sided game not being equally able to win, is the epitome of unbalanced gameplay.
If you believe EVERYONE healing, even from the slug is a benefit for killers due to single instadown, that's just plain wrong

You're ignoring the survivors role in it again
What role?
If a 3K always feels like a loss then that's irrespective of survivors. They literally have no power or influence here.
At this point the pattern is clear enough and I'm just talking to a survivor wall.
Considering what you've been arguing, I think you need a bit of survivor talking-to.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3752532#Comment_3752532
But, if a player feels that only a "4K" is a win for them, then that's legitimate.
They can have all the feelings they want, but they can't expect the game to bend over backwards to accommodate them. And they certainly shouldn't blame survivors for their disappointment in the game when they come into it with unreasonable expectations.
In the term of game system, going for 4k instead of 3k and getting it is reasonable expectation, literally slug and you can even get survivors up, so you can almost guarantee it, what truly is "unreasonable expectation" here is getting a hatch escape simply because it solely depends on killer
And look at what survivors saying everywhere, they are the one ABSOLUTELY expecting to get the game bend over backwards, so many survivors are asking for "guaranteed hatch" only to make them feel better, asking to change the game fundamental, even though it's an unreasonable expectation to get a hatch, some of them believe it MUST be guaranteed to happen and yelling it everywhere, to change the game system
-
Realistically speaking, it only happens when there is a catastrophic skill gap between killers and survivors, hardly anything is needed as a countermeasure system or in term of game balance, you just needs better matchmaking
-
The worst part is it is kinda believable since cheater has been doing so many ridiculous things in Dbd
-
It's crazy BHVR mess with scratch mark everyday, how can they believe base mechanics not being consistent as a good thing
-
Just take toolbox with charge and repair speed, with 4 man, it's ridiculously fast as is
Now add in perks and it's truly gen rushing or even said to be an "instant gen build"
-
It's quite weird some people believe slugging prolong the game, but the fact is, survivors do and absolutely will camp in the hatch for 10 minutes
Most of the time, going for 4k ends up faster
-
@Oh_deer said:
i've won 150+ matches as killer during the event and only lost twice. it's kind of hilarious how strong killer is. like they actually thought the survivor power would be equivalent to killer's ability to destroy pallets? it's like they gave survivors a peashooter and then hooked killers up with a rocket launcher. and some people will actually act like there's some kind of equivalency lol
Power itself is pretty good, but it's only impactful for higher level of survivors
-
Playing soloq and calling the game "killer sided" is honestly strange tbh, you are playing with random who aren't even trying to win and somehow surprised when you lose
It's honestly surprising game even has like 60% kill rates, how can majority of randos managed to do that
-
This is literally a perk with easiest counter and surprisingly only one survivor needs to work on it

But bleedouts and hatches are draw states, aren't they? Neither is a "win" in MMR standards, unless I'm working on old info. Tbf I haven't kept up with the officiality of win conditions in a while because it feels super arbitrary and archaic.
It doesn't matter if it's actually an win, the meaning of "win most" here is that, people will and absolutely try to do the things that feels "most victorious" in every scenarios
Bleedout is 100% lose, but people feel little more "victorious" when they managed to hide from killers all the time, thus they try to do that, same for hatches, same for 4k, it's all same

@Laluzi said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3751240#Comment_3751240
Staying at gate has strategic value too. As a survivor, I won't leave until I know that all survivors are accounted for, or that my leaving would enable the last player to find hatch (and that I couldn't help them otherwise - ex, I'm injured, they're being chased across the map.) If I leave, I can't unhook my teammates or take a hit. Even if I make the killer come hit me out, that can potentially buy time for another survivor to heal or reach the other gate.
But that's generally not what people are talking about when they complain about survivors waiting at the gate. Same as survivor bleedout. In cases where the killer can't hook someone, survivors can crawl towards a hook - I've found most killers in that situation will oblige you, because they don't want to be stuck watching the timer any more than you do. The ones who leave you on the ground anyway are just doing it to be jackasses.
It has strategical value when there is not all of them, it isn't when there is four of them, surely
I suppose this is about literally guaranteed situation though, which is four bleedout for killer and four in gate for survivor, in this comparison killer will lose their "guarantee" with hooking
-

First of all, this is whataboutism.
Second, those are not really compareable. The EGC timer is only half as long as the Bleedout timer. Furthermore, at this point, the Killer also had a full game to play. Slugging 4 people at 5 Gens is not "playing the game" for Survivors. And the Killer also can decide at any point to force the Survivors out. They dont have to wait the 2 minutes. There is no way for Survivors to speed up the Bleedout.
It's exactly same because both is just wasting times, Hell, killer slug is more justifiable because sometime hooking can net in losing, it has strategical value
Staying on gate doesn't
-

I mostly didn't like the finisher mori system because it killed slug races, mori photobombs, and gifting hatch. Also sometimes I get in a fight with the last survivor in a friendly match, because they want to sacrifice themselves for me and I want them to escape, and it'd remove my ability to yeet a survivor out the gates.
If the mori was optional, it'd be okay... but then that undoes the point of ending the match. The unlimited Unbreakable was a hard no, though. Horrible idea. There are far simpler and less disruptive ways to deal with endgame BMing.
You ultimately have to choose one, though
If I had to choose between slightly less "fun" and complete removal of pure waste of time, I'd choose latter with no question

The problem wasn't the Unbreakable; despite Survivors having this base kit, it was still a net buff to slugging by"blessing" it with an instant win condition.
The finisher mori should not work with more than 1 survivor alive
That's blatant lie, though
There is no objective difference between all slug today and all slug with finisher mori, it's just that you had to wait for 4 minutes or not, and which is same for survivors
Stop calling it like a "buff" when literally nothing is changed there, slugging everyone is, in fact, ALREADY AN INSTANT WIN CONDITION, that is EXACTLY the reason why survivor has to stay on the ground for four minutes, because there is no way to get back
Peoples are really mixing their own feeling and actual gameplay difference, yeah yeah it FEELS much stronger, but there is no objective difference with or without instant mori

Kinda, slugging in general has needed a rework since 2018 when DS Unbreakable became Meta to combat slugging and tunneling. It's been problematic for a significant time.
If slugging would count as a tie, that means it doesnt intentionally lower your MMR, but if its your only means to killing, yeah, it does lower your MMR. And then slugging will become a bigger issue to a larger % of the people, at which point BHVR will be forced to rework it anyway.
The simplest solution is just give survivors any way of picking themselves up if they reached 95% recovery. Be it crawling to gens, be it having to crawl to a dropped pallet, be it having to crawl to another downed survivor and help each other up. Just ANY way. Because then slugging stops having as much pressure as a hook, giving killers more reasons to hook. Right now, the only reason to not slug is that it takes longer to kill and has some risk, but if you have a killer (like Nurse or Blight) who can traverse the map quickly, keep survivors injured and just never hook while slugging, there isnt really any risk. If they pick up a survivor, you just go there and slug them again, then chase the person who picked them up.
There needs to be a basekit solution to slugging (aswell as a better basekit mechanic against tunnelling) for survivors to be in a position that they do not NEED to rely on comms to face a Nurse.Pretty sure BHVR would understand that good killers having lower MMR as a problem, and would just make it so bleeding out counts as kills for MMR
And I hope devs to not do anything stupid like basekit unbreakable, because game just doesn't work with it

Imagine a map having some flavor for once and actually look more horror esque. Also shading could solve your issue.
Except I doubt bhvr would even try to solve issue at first release
-
Oh wait, this is exactly the time we should ask for finisher mori, without of course that dumb stupidest decision that is basekit unbreakable
It's not like survivors love to yell for how "unfair" to finish a game in with already losing games, right
-
It's pretty fun with speedboost addon, whether it's strong or not is questionable
-
Egg chicken whatsoever is pointless, being slugged for 4 minutes is nothing, just do counter, if you don't like using counter, accept it
There is like hundreds things survivors can do to prevent this, it's all their own fault if it happens
-
Considering that most survivors go for hatches and sometime even intentionally go for bleedout just to waste killer's time, yes, people absolutely want to win most

If you read the wiki you will get to know that bleeding people out also counts as a win...
And I'm talking about the situation when it doesn't
Well wait, it wasn't exactly a suggestion, rather a question
-
So by slugging survivors I can intentionally lower my MMR while also killing everyone in the worst imaginable way possible
Do you actually think it is good, I honestly don't think so
-
Honestly I feel like it's just some killer having good design team and some killer not
I heard killers will stick to same team in term of balancing, so those who made not a good killer tend to do not a good rework, and those who made a good killer tend to do good rework, and I feel it only explains why some killer get a rework repeatedly yet still sucks all the time
