If I was still on the Switch, then the XP would be more appealing. Because I've changed platforms, the BP is more appealing as I'm still unlocking perks. With new killers and survivors out every 12 weeks, plenty of new players and casual players are likely to want BP

Would love a charity outfit for Dwight for sure

I was using meme perks today so no one can sit there and complain about what perks I brought. Unless they think head on or dark sense are meta perks
im just really annoyed at the lithe hate from the killer mains recently. No one complained about this perk or called it meta but now its “omg they get free distance, omg it so easy to use” omg this perk is boring to face, omg this perks if op” like when does the complaining end? Cant wait for the nerf in the future!
And the complaints seem to revolve around these perks being 'unconditional free value', meanwhile every killer is running Lethal Pursuer...

If anyone starts running distortion, all the things killers can do at that point is literally just camp and tunnel, because which is only consistent way to find the survivors.
So call it excuse or not, it tells they are never tried to save their teammates and certainly not altruistic at all, not sure if they are selfish or not though.
Plenty of killers don't run aura perks and manage just fine. If you struggle to find survivors without an aura perk, would that be considered a crutch perk?

Sorry if I offend anyone, it's not my goal or something. I just wanted to know something. I also want you to know I have trouble expressing myself in English, since it's not my first language.
With all the pride things promoting inclusivity that's absolutely fine by me. But since every sexuality gets a flag, why is there no heterosexual flag? I mean, isn't the goal of inclusivity for all that everyone is included? Why exclude one sexuality?
As a heterosexual person, what exactly do I need to be included in? I've never been at risk of being thrown into jail because of my sexuality. My life has never been in threat because of my sexuality. I've never been told I can't love who i love, or had barriers put in place so I couldn't marry who I want to marry. I don't need 'heterosexual pride' or a flag for being granted all the above privileges. Pride Month is about standing in solidarity with those who aren't afforded the privileges I'm afforded.

What a lot of less experienced killers don’t realize is that the so called “gen rush” is often their own doing. The last few days or so I have won substantially more games than I typically do in solo. It was always due to killers mindlessly tunneling and paying zero attention to what is going on around them. I’d be at 80% on a gen and the killer would literally just run by me in order to tunnel. No effort to even force me off. Of course the gens are going to fly when there is zero pressure on anyone else. This may not apply to you specifically but there are A LOT of killers like this who have zero situational awareness or game sense. Players like this aren’t being gen rushed. They’re just bad at the game.
Yeah I had a game this morning where all 4 of us escaped - the Huntress was deadset on tunnelling this Nea but it was for nothing. The Nea was crazy good at loops. No one had toolboxes or gen perks. I even cleansed a couple totems. Otherwise, nobody had anything else to do except sit on gens.
On the flipside, I ran a Trapper for the first 2 gens in another game and he had a 4k at 1 gen left without tunnelling. He had everyone on their toes the whole game and played smart. He got me on second hook because of his habit of constantly kicking pallets as soon as they were downed, creating dead zones. I could see it all with WoO. He left one pallet down in one area after chasing someone else, and I automatically assumed he must have forgotten to kick it. But nope, he left it on purpose with a trap on the opposite side. Smart man knew survivors would run for the one pallet left when caught in that otherwise dead zone. It was well played.
-
I rarely see Clown, which I'm fine with since the bottle affect gives me headaches. Hag, Trickster, and Twins also. I see way too many Huntresses.

@AetherBytes said:
Honestly, the only time I don't find tunnelling scummy is if the survivor either deliberately gets in your way, or they're the only survivor you keep finding and it's either chase them or wander around even more and waste time
I had a game today where I thought a team mate was getting tunnelled, but they were so good in chase it was honestly detrimental for the killer to go for them. One game later, I got matched with that same survivor again and I watched them and realised they were purposely tracking the killer down and pretty much carrying the team with their chase skills. I unhooked them on their first hook and they let me heal them, then they ran off and seconds later had the little chase claws around their icon 🤣
-
I had a killer do this now on Midwich. Slugged me and then left to find the last survivor. I had a gut feeling about hatch so didn't recover, just crawled, and sure enough hatch literally opened right in front of me as soon as the last survivor died. That was nice.

Distortion honestly screws over your teammates more than anything. If I’m playing killer and I see somebody on BBQ, I’ll go chase them, but if I see nobody, I’m proxy camping hook. Distortion just booked a one way ticket to snowball city.
I have at least one team mate running Distortion in most of my games and it doesn't bother me as a survivor. At most, it keeps them alive longer, which is good for the team, and at worst they get no value because the killer has no aura perks. I think it's fine when players use perks to make up for their weaknesses/shortcomings.

@AmpersandUnderscore said:
Base gen speed is the longest it's ever been since 6.1.0 increased it to 90 seconds.
It's also not perks, because the only perks that even affect gens that are new or buffed since 6.1 are overzealous (which *still* isn't mathematically worth running) and Hyperfocus (which is a pretty rare perk to be running).
What you're seeing lasting impact of the gen kick meta, which had 2 critically detrimental effects on the game in general:
Killers spent nearly 10 months with some of the strongest gen control perks this game has ever seen and drove home exactly one message in every single game: Do gens or die.
Not only that, but literally everything else in the game became marginalized during that time. Game sense? Unnecessary. Chase and mind games? Nah. For an incredible number of people, the game boiled down to: bind every key to 'break generator' and slam your face on the keyboard for up to an hour and you'll probably still win by attrition alone.
So now, post regression nerfs you have survivors who are conditioned to do gens and don't even have boons as a side objective anymore, and killers who seemingly lack object permanence or take 3 minutes to end a chase.
Exactly. I went months not touching a totem or chest because if I left my gen for too long it'll have regressed to 0. Every game was a killer decked out with the standard gen kick build and survivors had no choice but to stick to their gens, and even that was a losing battle alot of the time. I've only just started chilling out a bit in current games. We've had months of conditioning us to prioritise gens at all costs.
-
My escape rate is actually at an all time low. You'd think the more you play, the better you get, but I feel like it's having the opposite effect on me. The more I play, the more skill I apparently lose lol
-
I was going to comment earlier and say that I actually enjoy going against him even if i can't remember the last time I escaped a Blight game, but i literally just played against a Blight and lived. Death hook and injured, but I lived.
-
I mean, they do kind of get punished. Even one of the devs said that successful tunnelling can increase your MMR above your comfort zone, to the point where you get much harder opponents and will struggle. When I see a player who both tunnels and complains that they're going against Seal Team 6 every game, I feel like they've kind of punished themselves.

Is it about pissing off killer mains or actually being fair? It feels like people forget SWF is technically broken. This remains as true in year 7-8 as it did in year 1. The game was not designed so that survivors were ever meant to have the level of coordination or communication SWF provides.
I don’t know why killer players are always treated like second class citizens in this community, their opinions should be just as valid as survivors, no? So why is it about pissing of killers and not just ensuring the game is actually somewhat balanced? Nobody wants to only play against sweaty SWF teams anymore than people only want to play against Blight/Nurse.
Considering the only bone solo got thrown, which was the icon update, didn't impact swfs at all, my comment had nothing to do with swfs. Swfs already have access to all the info (and more) that the icons give. Since solo makes up the bulk of kill rates, and since many killers here have said they lobby dodge perceived swfs in order to find solo players, I think my pov that solo will always have the short end of the stick is valid. And buffing them will piss people off.

An anti survivor agenda? Come on man. It's a damn game.
Lol guessing you haven't heard the conspiracy theory that survivors let go on hook after nerfs in order to increase kill rates so killers get nerfed? It's been around for awhile and still pops up. So there's apparently an anti killer agenda too.
-
You said this was *one* game that you've never experienced anything like in your entire time playing killer. So one rare gen rushing team suddenly means no anti-tunnelling or camping measures should be put in place? Survivors should be nerfed? I have outlier games too, everyone does.

I’ve played solo queue and yet to see any one quit at 4-5 gens. I think I’ve seen one person DC in like 15 games of solo queue over the last two days and that was with two gens left. I didn’t see anyone give up on hook in those games. I just don’t believe people are DCing and unhook failing as much as people here claim.
Same. I very rarely get DCs in my games. I've played quite a bit the past week and only had 1 team mate DC. When they do DC I find it's usually because they're being tunnelled.
Letting go on hook is more common but even that doesn't happen often. One person did it in one of my games yesterday because they went to second stage on first hook - I was in chase with the killer and not sure what the other two survivors were doing but it certainly wasn't gens or unhooking. So I kind of didn't blame the guy for wanting out.

@JustAnotherNewbie said:
A few days ago I had the worse day of solo survivor I've ever had. Maybe it was my playstyle being bad as well (probably), but from trolling teammates to killers playing in the most unlikeable ways I lost it.
To me it feels like we are held back by BHVR itself. Not strong enough individually and not co-ordinated enough as a team. That's the most frustrating part imo. Killers don't want us better co-ordinated, but at the same time when they adopt highly effective strategies (gen regression/kicking meta, anti-heal meta tam etc.) they might not always admit it, but the counter to those strategies are good co-ordination. I've even seen some people (I hope they're in the minority) complain about the UI change for survivors. The only thing that has helped with is knowing that perhaps you have to go for the save since the others are doing gens and time your adrenaline. It has not made people know which gens to start on, which perks their team has, which perks the killer has (they cannot communicate), co-ordinate hook saves, ask for protection, ask for heals, which gen has progressed enough but was interrupted and someone else should take over, what to do during face-camping Bubba etc.
The UI is a step in the right direction, but this change hardly does anything for solo survivor, as they still have no way to communicate their intentions to each other, which means solo survivor will be frustrating for a long time to come. Nurse and Blight still remain a problem at all levels and will remain and they are not usually know to play in any way "nice".
There's a reason solo will never be boosted to the level of swfs. Solo makes up the bulk of the kill rates. A dev said that being in a swf can increase your chances of survival by "up to" 15%. So solo staying weaker than swf is by design, because if you strengthen solo then kill rates will drop. Even killers know this, it's why so many admit to lobby dodging perceived swfs. They'd rather play against solo teams because the lack of coordination makes them easier to kill - and they don't want counters to their effective strategies. I play solo and I just can't see any way they can throw us many more bones without p*ssing off lots of killer mains.
-
I only report if I can definitively say they're using a wall hack (it's easy with Distortion - they'll make a beeline for you after hooking, to make you think they have BBQ, but obviously Distortion doesn't lose a token. Next time go to some dead end corner of the map near a completed gen and watch them again come straight to you, despite having no reason to be there. Check perks after game and they usually have that killer's basic perks or nothing).
If I can't say for sure, only suspect, then I don't bother reporting. I was sus on an Oni yesterday but couldn't say for sure as I didn't have Distortion.

Lol yeah if your just looking for basic consistency, 2-3k on average 1-2 months seems accurate for console, considering the steeper learning curve. I did think of one more thing though, a few addons to use/avoid.
- never use the plaid cloth addon, you'll never wanna stop so you wont get the muscle memory lol.
- use wooden horse in moderation. It good for new players, making mistakes less punishing. But its the same situation as plaid cloth.
- heavy panting is prob godly on console, extends lunge after 2 blinks so you will get hits more consistently.
- theres one addon that basically gives blinks sloppy, its a green. definitely her best lol, especially if you are gonna run nurses calling.
- ALWAYS BUY CAMPELLS LAST BREATH ITS SO OP OMGFIUKASFH
- her iridescents are mostly just for memes, but 3 blink nurse is easy mode and combos well with campbells+bbq. Get one hook->uberblink crossmap->use third for hit-> ez game.
- <3
Thank you! I've heard many times that Campbell's Last Breath is a must have add on. I'll give her a spin tomorrow.
-
I'm feeling this today. It reminded me of why I avoid playing on weekends. It's Saturday here in Oz and I played solo for a few hours this morning/afternoon, as I'm sick and my mum took the kids for the day, and I don't think I got more than 10k bp in any of my games. It was steamroll after steamroll. Even got a depip in a Sadako Condemned game, as she had Knock-Out and I spent the whole time running round finding and picking up team mates who were dropping like flies. Stopped playing at that point, tried again tonight thinking I'd get a few good hours in. Played 3 games, all meagre bp, and when I got yet another depip on my third game I just shut it down. My first depips in as long as i can remember and both on the same day. Unfulfilled and tedious doesn't begin to cover it.
-
You only have to read every thread on lobby dodging to see how common avoiding competitive games is. Many players purposely seek out weaker opponents. Sweaty players will just join casual for the chance to steamroll. This playerbase has always shown a tendency to take the path of least resistance. They'll take the route that leads to easier wins.

Pc nurse here, but I though I'd give my two cents. As a PC player with the extra range of movements thanks to MnK, I'd say it took me about 2 weeks to a months of consistently playing her to average about 6 hooks a game. To truly start killing with her it took me maybe a month or two of experience beyond that to do.
Console nurse is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult than pc. There is much less room for error in your movements. On pc, if I overblink I can flick back around real fast and blink back/swing. If someones trying to 360 me, I can pretty easily bap em right on the head no matter where they are. On console though, flicking is practically impossible within the short time span given. So if you want to land a hit, you need to predict them right, turn your camera mid blink (I do this on pc but I can still flick if I mess up somehow), not get 360-ed, make sure you are in range and then swing. If you aren't, repeat. Nurse is quite flick reliant for consistency, so any god console nurse has my utmost respect.
Some perks I'd recommend starting out are:
Nurses calling (free down lol)
deadlock (passive slowdown, doesnt need a hook or anything to work)
nowhere to hide (easy chase starter, can also land you a free hit if you have the aim)
im all ears (see nowhere to hide)
BBQ (obvious reasons)
NWO (endgame clutch ehe)
just thought I'd give what I can, even though im a PC player lol
Cheers for that, very helpful. So I'd wager I'd be looking at a few months at least to become somewhat adequate with her. I play casual so I'm not fussed with 4ks or being god tier, but I'd like to at least get a good game going. The playerbase might just have to tolerate me learning the ropes for awhile lol
-
Question for console nurses - how long would you say it took you to get the hang of her? Wondering if I should bother committing the hours to learning her
-
Huntress, Slinger, and Trickster are range killers. That's why they're slower, because their power isn't reliant on their speed. Hag's power isn't reliant on speed either, though she might suffer in endgame from the odd person who risks running this, but the survivor has left themselves at a disadvantage throughout the entire game with no guarantee of even getting to endgame.

I'm a Chinese Mexican Trans Woman I'm sorry but representation really isn't a huge issue. Like I will literally never experience representation and my life is no different than if I could relate to every character like why is it actually such a big deal that EVERY character needs to be LGBT?
OP never said every character needed to be LGBTQ. They literally mentioned *one* survivor, Yui.
-
It provides slowdown, as the person exchanges a toolbox for a short-timed reduction in gen repair. Effectively, one person is rendered pretty useless for a time. People felt that the original perk provided too much benefit for no downside, so they've given a downside. I don't see an issue with this at all.

I just think breakable walls should be removed for example dead dawg why are there breakable walls in the first place??? The killer should be focused on gens and hooking survivors. Plus survivors do not need these extra loops when there’s breakable walls
Breakable walls were introduced at the same time as the Dead Dawg map, which is why there are so many. Breaking the shack ones basically renders it useless, and I wouldn't break any in the main building because that will be beneficial to survivors.
-
Honestly, bring We'll Make It. My team mates will 9/10 times drop for me to heal them, and they'll always return the favour. I also like to bring a medkit for late game when there's less people available to heal me.
-
Can't say I've noticed an increase in facecamping at all. Played a number of games yesterday and had only one facecamper - a Hillbilly surprisingly!
-
Making the move isn't too bad. I have over 2 years progress on the Switch and umm'd and ahh'd over moving fully to the PS5. Ended up taking the plunge this year and doing it. The sucky thing was leaving all my charms and cosmetics behind (I have *all* the Stranger Things stuff on the Switch, while on the PS5 I just have basic Demo, Steve, and Nancy) and I'm holding onto hope I'll be able to transfer it all one day.
Now is probably the best time to make the switch as we have lots of bp coming in for the anniversary event. I'm currently P1ing everyone to unlock the rest of the perks I need.

Why is it always that if Killers behave like ######### that someone comes up with an explanation that it must have been the fault of the Survivors before?
Like, Killers are the pure souls of this game, it is not possible that one of them is acting like this on their own. Meanwhile, Survivors eat little children.
Yeah I don't buy it either. I've literally never BM'd once in this game, not even a single tbag, despite having had plenty of bad matches. I don't get this apparent 'I'm gonna take my frustration out on the next lot' stuff. As soon as the game is over I've moved on.

It's always fun to play something new. Popular DBD streamers do it often, off the top of my head I've watched them play Skyrim, Evil Dead, VHS, Deceive Inc, Outlast Trials, and now TCM. It's not like they're chained to DBD lol

Thanks gosh basement was at shack.
But ofcourse nothing changed. Huntress camped her 4 - gen for 20 minutes at least. I can't wait devs address this gen camping issue.
I had the same Huntress for 3 games in a row last night and she did the 3-gen from the start in all 3 games. 2 games we managed to break it but the third was on RPD and she got a good 3 gen and the game just dragged. I eventually just shut it down and went to bed. I wasn't in the mood to get matched a 4th time with her lol
-
It's purely about buying time and, as already mentioned, sometimes it backfires. If they did something like you suggest then I guarantee Blood Warden would become meta and survivors would just open and leave and those endgame snowballs (which happen alot - games where the killer gets a 2/3/4k because everyone tried to save one person on hook) would stop. It would promote looking out for yourself in what's supposed to be a team game.
-
Some people are just like that. I see plenty of players on social media who say they love going out of their way to bully or troll others. You gotta let it be like water off a duck's back. Shrug it off. That stuff doesn't phase me anymore.

Oh boy, I see you people don't read a whole thread before commenting since i had this argument here already.
Survivor all look the same. They are placeholder and neither their perks, the quality of their item nor the size of their premade group (aka solo or 2/3/4 people swf) is really distinguishable outside of steam profiles.killee can't pick specific countermeasures against them except for antiheal, franklins or Lightborn.
Killer on the other hand have their individual powers, play styles and countermeasures, from the mentioned calm spirit/doctor, flashlight/hag, no heal/legion/plague to just picking map offerings against for example stealth killer with open maps or against ranged/rush killer with cluttered maps.
There is no reasonable comparison at all.
And I haven't even talked about the individual popularity of killers and the grave disparity in queue time increase killer player would get based on the character they want to play, NO MATTER THEIR ACTUAL PLAYSTYLE.
I'm confused - do you think I'm arguing in favour of survivors being able to see killers in lobby? Because I haven't said that once. Play the cards you're dealt, whether killer or survivor.
-
I've been wondering the same for awhile. It'd be nice to get some more expansion in some of the realms. I thought for sure Withered Isle would have seen some talk of upcoming expansions, since you can see a motel on the outskirts of GoJ so there's a hint of more places to explore.

And i like the idea of help for hard of hearing killers as well as survs. Personally my hearing is fine and I rely on it very heavily when I play killer, if survs get visual aids killers certainly should too.
I think gen rush started *during* the regression meta - because it was literally do the gen asap or lose your progress and likely the game. I literally stopped doing totems or searching chests because doing so would likely cost my team the game. It's only noticeable now because the meta regression build was nerfed but survivors are still stuck in gen mode.

Lobby dodge => slightly longer queue time
DC upon killer conformation => completely ruined the match for everyone involved left behind.
Notice the difference?
Both are avoiding games they perceive to be challenging or boring. My point anyway was that if survivors had the option to killer dodge in lobby, they absolutely would. They don't have that option, so they do it in game. I'm also not saying it's right or that I agree with it. I'm saying why it happens.

There's no point getting upset about it. You can't control how others behave. There are players who dodge in lobby when they see apparent swfs with toolboxes or high prestige players. Survivors don't have the option to killer shop so it's not unusual for this to happen in games. I play solo and see people go afk or DC when they see who the killer is.
