fog vials are gonna have to be nerfed or deleted, these were a bad idea to have in the game.

I did a lot of thinking since making this post and reading the replies, and I’ll be honest my mind has changed. At the end of the day these are only cosmetics and I’m fine with them coming back again for players that missed out of them. It was selfish of me to want cosmetics to be locked away forever when they aren’t available anymore and I hope BHVR brings them back in the future.

They will probably do it.
As they did with the rift packs - but of course they only sell it in expensive packs. You can not just buy the piece that you miss.
I was very disappointed with these first rift packs not sold seperately.
I really don’t understand why they only sold the first 4 tomes in a bundle and not other older ones???

I agree.
It's only recolors anyway, and it's the same as if they gave the legacy cosmetics to everyone.
Exactly!

It was caused because there was a quick and easy way to ragequit, that bypassed the DC penalties.
It was also caused by streamers that would publicly ragequit whenever they didn’t feel like playing a game, which taught survivors that there aren’t any real penalties for ragequitting in small doses.
I’ve seen streamers say things like “Wraith is boring”, and then ragequit. Like, there are videos of streamers publicly admitting to ragequitting for trivial reasons, and they never got punished for it.
there’s a drag queen streamer that says Wraith is boring and they always go next when the match isn’t going their way. Mind you this person uses a smurf account to bully baby killers.
-
The purpose of the go next prevention is to stop survivors from getting out of the match early. No one is forcing you to boot up DBD.
-
I just think daily quests should give you more bloodpoints.

The whole point of Deep Rift is that it's a reward for players who go beyond the original 70 Rift Tiers. It is an accomplishment.
To make them available to everyone is to demean this accomplishment, which the original Rift outfits already do. However, the original Rift outfits can, & do, get further recolours available for all players. Deep Rift is the slimmest bit of exclusivity and it’s pretty much just Fortnite’s super styles. Cool to have, but not detrimental to miss out on.
At the end of the day it is FOMO & encouraging grinding, however not everything should be served to players on a silver platter. Yes, grind should be easier, and BHVR’s new Quest System & upcoming BP spend button is intended to make it easier, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t exist, nor should players not be rewarded for going above & beyond. If this were the case of the original Rift outfits or Shop outfits, I’d see your point.
this is a very valid point though

I feel I addressed that pretty well in the post. Did you disagree with any of the reasoning?
I’m just calling out people that are 100% against those tactics.

tunneling is the best way to win if you’re an M1 killer, that also goes for camping and slugging because if you never do them than you’re playing killer wrong.

That's something I always hated. Survivors can freely abandon the match the moment they're all slugged before the killer can even have a chance to start putting them on hooks yet killers can't do anything when the survivors are sitting at the gate tea bagging. Sure can just force them out, but why the hell should I let them rub it in my face?
the match is over if all survivors are slugged.

There is clearly a difference between a game, were I have an endgame build or were everyone is injured and desperately trying to open one of the gates and we are chasing each other - and games were the survivors were totally in control the whole game and everyone is healthy. One of these examples has an interesting and exciting finale, and the other is just over and the survivors could just walk out of the gate and go next - but for some odd reason at least one won't do so 19/20 times (yeah, it is THAT rare for all four survivors just taking their W and leaving).
We are just thinking that the killer should have the option to just abandon the game when the exit gates are powered, not that they are forced to do so. Same as a survivor can still wriggle out and get hatch if they are the last one to go down, but they also have the option to go next asap.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3931848#Comment_3931848
See, I am not arguing with the abandon feature as a whole, just with certain aspects of it that clearly need finetuning. I don't want to take it away or anything, but can you honestly, from the bottom of your heart say, that it is fully okay literally perfect? I hope you at least acknowledge the issues that persist with this feature and that we should have a discussion about how to iron out the wrinkles.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3931869#Comment_3931869
This is a tough one, I addressed so many different points and have made 4 bulletpoints myself, that a simple "this is the reason it was implemented" doesn't really cut it :D Sorry to be THAT guy. From your post I guess that you mean that you see absolutely no value in interactions between the killer and the survivor, and that is a valid point, but a lot of players actually loved these. And thats one of my main concerns, ie that the Abandon option pops up way too early and gives absolutely no incentive to wait even a couple of seconds, which I personally find very rude.
I think a 30s timer before the Abandon option goes life doesn't hurt anyone and allows for plenty of nonverbal expression, if one so desires, while still cutting BMing to a minimum. But at the very least the game should instantly end once all four survivors are either dead or bots and not force the killer to play out a dull match. Just end the game then and there and award them all the kills, just as survivors are awarded their draw for dying ^_-
you literally have the option to surrender if all survivors are bots.

@Akumakaji said:
I really despise it as a killer. I love interacting with survivors in some way of form, but nowadays I can't even nod at the last survivor, do a pirouette and then let them wriggle off as a "thanks for the fun chases, lets look for hatch" anymore, as they will just abandon the match the very second the prompt shows up on their screen. And that it counts as a draw is just icing on the cake, of course people would weaponize such a feature! rolls eyes
I get it, getting slugged for four minutes is not fun and totally unnecessary, but it really didn't happen THAT often. The abandon feature could kick in if the killer hasn't hooked or killed them by the 1min mark - 1min isn't that long, but it will still allow for pleanty of fun ineractions, wriggling on the floor and nodding and spinning and slashing the air.
On the other hand i get t-bagged and survivors waiting out the full EDC timer just for a chance to twerk in my face pretty much every game I lose. Would be nice to change that into a draw by the press of a button :P
This was one of the reasons why the abandon feature was implemented, if I’m the last survivor I’m not gonna waste my time with the killer because the killer wants fun interactions. I understand it can be cute and fun but most players including myself would rather just take the L and move on.

I agree I think there’s more DBD could do with AOT. The cosmetics don’t have to be perfect but anime is a big thing!

Newer players are newer players., period. Is there any other online game out there that has been on for over 10 years that a new player can get literally anything the game was providing since day 1? Dead By Daylight should be forced to do that? If this new player is not happy then they should think twice before playing it. If this is so importante they should make a research before buying the game.
I should add that it shouldn’t be only about newer players, but also for players that didn’t have time to grind the rift because life happens.

Time limited cosmetics that arent just outright purchaseable (such as the winter cosmetics and bloodmoon) are fine imo since you actually have to earn them. Sure you need to purchase the Rift, but youre spending 10$ to get several other cosmetics and you still have to earn the recolors.
I really hope they dont advertise cosmetics as exclusive and then double back later on, its what they did with Howling Grounds and Summer BBQ event cosmetics and that ######### sucked.
Think they also advertised the DBD day shirts as exclusive in last year’s haunted by daylight stream.
-
not sure how to feel about this, feel like it may lead to a lot of lobby dodging.
-
Oh I hope this is an error because 5000 BPS for a medkit is ridiculous.

@burt0r said:
I have no clue about this abandoning system but does it count the match as a win for survivor when killer abandone?
If yes, oh boy, that seems like the best way for extreme hiding squats. Or is not touching gens for a whole match taken into account somewhere?
If the killer abandons than it counts as a sacrifice for survivors.

It will stay at 5 million until the Bulk Bloodpoint spending feature has been implemented as shown on the QoL Roadmap, then we will re-evaluate at that point.
You're definitely not going to lose the Bloodpoints you've earnt.

I doubt it will be outfits because certain licensed characters might not be able to get them. Like Freddy and Quentin, their license holders won't let them have anything.
Yeah thats what I’m saying, I definitely don’t think Netflix will allow that for stranger things characters.
-
Just had a thought but more prestige cosmetic rewards might be hard to get for licensed characters

@Blueberry said:
Is that confirmed? Maybe I missed it
Just a banner or badge would be so disappointing. IMO people would like the bloody cosmetic for the killer but with a recolor of the blood like black , gold, or silver, something thing like that. Makes it unique to show off and easy for them to do since it’s just a recolor.
No I was just speculating about a badge and banner if thats what you meant.
-
the thing is a lot more players are playing killer especially Ghoul because he’s a new killer. Hopefully in a week or 2 the queues will go back to normal.
-
I agree it’s so obnoxious when survivors do it, I only stay in the match until I know everyone is safe. Best thing you can do is spam your power for bloodpoints or go around the map breaking walls and pallets.

@ChrissyG88 said:
Yes, it was very early on in my DBD life. I only really played survivor and I think this was only my 2nd or 3rd game playing as killer. I was trying out Huntress and couldn't get a single throw on target (I'm on controller and never play FPS games, so my aim is awful) so I just gave up throwing hatchets and ended up trying to chase normally and get normal hits. One survivor was too good at looping me to hit him so I then just went for other survivors. But that first survivor who I gave up on just kept following me everywhere, getting pallet saves, flashlight saves and protection hits. And I finally got him down when he went for a protection hit whilst injured, but he was under a pallet. I chased off the other survivor nearby so they wouldn't get the pallet save, but when I then finally picked up that infuriating survivor, he only had Power Struggle and pallet saved himself!
I am able to speak in such detail about this because it really was the most traumatic experience in my gaming life and I have never tried playing huntress or any other killer which requires you to aim, ever again!
as a controller player myself, I feel your pain. 😂

first day of the event and solo survivors are giving up left and right, it’s starting to become a survivor problem. Ghoul is a little OP but we can’t blame it all on the killer.

Awesome!!

Where did it go?
I really wanted the David cosmetic as I think it's the only one I am missing, and it's only available in that tome bundle. I do not want to buy an entire bundle for just one cosmetic.
It just left today I’m sorry!!!
-
your child should not be playing a rated M game.
-
well the problem with escape and kill rates stats is they’re not 100% accurate because a lot of them aren’t legit. You have so many survivors giving up on first hook that plays a factor in it.
-
I don’t know/remember all of this but I’ll try my best
First main : The doctor/ ClaudetteCurrent Main : Jake/Renato and Clown
Favorite Map : Autohaven
Favorite Perk : Spirit Fury and Flashbang
Favorite Item : will o’ wisp flashlight 👻
Favorite Chapter : Silent Hill
How many P100's? : 2 on Jake and Clown
Hours: couple thousand

survivor- deja ju because it helps to prevent 3 gen
Killer- corrupt intervention because it’s good for early game pressure.

out of curiosity, where in crotus can you not reach a hook with boil over? Keep in mind it only grants bonus progress based on your current progress. So if you've been carrying the survivor for 6 seconds it only grants 2 extra seconds to your wiggle. Was the problem that you just didn't know where the hooks were?
the first pickup I lost track when trying to manuever out of the building so that was mostly on my part, second pickup I almost made it to the hook but the survivor wiggled. Also wanna point out the survivor just let me down them at the gen that was upstairs so he could use wiggling out to their advantage.

@terumisan said:
killers will be punished for slugging. they changed knockout (the only slugging perk) got changed completely because people started using it because gen speed is still a problem and hooking buffs the survivors.
i have no faith in behavior
Me personally I try to have hope in BHVR but faith is hard for me.

nah put Tom Brady in the game instead.

Killers want to complain but survivors are getting their stealth nerfed just as hard. Crows 1 acting like current Crows 3 means its easier for killer to find players if they trapped them.
you’re talking about the upcoming hiding prevention, thats not gonna make any difference if you don’t hide.

I'm around 70% survivor player and I just don't see this epidemic of slugging everyone around here sees. I suspect a lot of the claims are from people that count every slug no matter how short or infrequent in a match as excessive.
I see this a lot on Twitch. It's something so small such as a killer notices someone else around so makes sure it's safe to pick up and the person on the ground is already complaining about slugging.
That being said, I totally acknowledge my personal experiences doesn't mean others aren't having issues with slugging.
I think some survivors just don’t like being on the ground even if it’s just for 10 seconds.

and I feel like a lot of the killers that say it isn’t an issue don’t experience the other end of the spectrum enough to truly say it isn’t. Slugging has become endemic right now. It used to be slugging for the 4k, which was annoying and unfair feeling enough. But in the last few months killers slugging at 5/4/3 gens has become absolutely rife.
I just don’t think killers are slugging for no reason, what we need is BHVR to understand why killers are doing it.

yes and this is definitely one of them- because it’s not going to stop slugging at all, but rather promote it. Not really sure why it’s even being labelled as an ‘anti slugging’ mechanic.
if you’re referring to the surrender button you are correct but I’m talking about the continued anti slugging mechanics that are planned in phase 2 of the health updates.
-
@Reinami said:
They won't i suspect.
All of the information they released, has been talking about how its "unfun to go against" and "hard to counter" and "annoying to deal with" etc. Without actually acknowledging the issue of WHY killers slug.
You’re right on the money here, slugging can be annoying but I feel like a lot of survivors that complain too much about it are the same ones that try to flashlight/pallet save or sabo hooks constantly.
-
@jajay119 said:
the upcoming ‘anti-slugging’ plans aren’t going to negatively impact killers and it’s not going to discourage them from slugging so I don’t see why you’re worried.
I’m worried because we’ve seen lots of questionable changes made by BHVR.
-
I never liked breakable walls, wish they would be removed from the game.
-
@Brimp said:
Yeah idk. After the survey in what January I think? They asked a bunch of stuff about how people feel about slugging. And from what I've heard it was mainly from the survivor perspective.
Thats what I took from it too, seemed like it was a question for survivors only.
-
I only try to go next if I’m running the killer in long chases and gens are not getting done, because why should I be forced to stay in a match if my teammates aren’t doing anything???
