Explain to me how it is not unfair. Because it has been proven empirically it is NOT an anti-tunneling perk.
Why must it be an anti tunnel perk to be fair?

I Hate it because I get hit by it even when I'm not tunneling
I understand that, truly.

I don't need to know what it was before. It doesn't MATTER. The perk should be judged by what it does NOW, in actual and present gameplay.
The current Decisive Strike is horrifically bogus and abusive.
The way it is now is fair. Because a survivor can use a perk to their advantage doesn't make it abusive. It matters if the workings of the perk can be consider fair.

Most survivors wont just rush a hook save if they know they're gonna get hit before saving, if they do then theyre just dumb. When they go for the save then the killer gets punished for it, because now he lost a hook and cant even compensate by picking up the just downed survivor, only option is to leave him slugged meaning he gets back up, and theres also 2 other survivors working on gens and possibly the 3rd one as well. Meaning no pressure gained on the killers end.
If some one with DS active is working on a gen and you leave them slugged guess what? You have to leave him knowing hes gonna get back up to just work on that gen again, and now the other 3 survivors are working on gens as well.
All these scenarios can be done up to 4 times, and again the killer can't do anything other than watch.
The fact that people still think DS was "nerfed" is beyond me. It has literally no counterplay now and it received an extra second of stun. How is that a nerf???
In the case of two slugs. Isn't that better than two working on gens? Even if they pick eachother up its still 30 seconds. Without DS that survivor wouldn't make that play. Don't mistake that without a perk survivors would behave the same. Or are you always around the hook?

Current Decisive Strike fits all the reasons the Devs gave for nerfing Old Ruin.
1.) Overly punishes bad/new players.
2.) It's mere existence provides passive pressure on the Killer.
3.) It doesn't actually stop tunneling like its supposed to.
- DS doesn't target new players. If you constantly touch a hot stove thats on you.
- A lot of perks on both sides give passive pressure. Ruin wasn't one of them. Ruin gave active pressure. Passive pressure is when you behave in a way to avoid a potential. ie, You don't know if they have DS so you slug. You don't know if they have BBQ so you hide behind a gen or in a locker.
- Stop tunneling is a community derived reason. The reason it was changed was because it was profoundly unfair perk.
Ruin was changed because bhvr was worried about new survivors dropping the game. What they didn't do, was fixed the reason why killers felt the need to always run it.

This perk is nowhere near fair, and even people with less than 1000 hours have mountains of testimony to that fact.
A perk designed to prevent tunneling that you can still use after the Killer bails on you to go hit and hook two other people and then come back to you and STILL get stabbed in the damn eye for 5 seconds is not even close to any semblance of fair.
Why are we holding up players with less than 1000 hrs?
Get some perspective on what DS was before you call this version unfair.

Quick question, should Old Ruin have been nerfed?
I never liked the idea that ruin was needed from a balancing perspective. Personally I didn't use it but didn't fault others for doing so. I do not find the current ruin to be all that powerful and a waste of a perk slot.
-
Yeah, and Nurse's issue was multi blinks and range addons. But we know bhvr likes to overkill anything killer related.

Hoping in a locker wastes time for the survivor as most of the time when a killer is in that situation they were actually tunneling. And the anti tunnel aspect of DS is fine, using it as a defensive tool as it was meant to I dont think any one has an issue. Its when people use the perk aggressively to go for hook saves, do gens in the killers face etc. when its active. It leaves the killer with literally no choice and it completely strips them of any pressure they gathered.
DS combined with Unbreakable has little to no counterplay
They are not invincible when going for that hook save. You can down them at the feet of the hooked survivor. At that point, how can you say two survivors incapacitated is detrimental to you? Is camping not an option in this case? So what if they pop back up? Smack them back down again. By then DS timer will be expired.
Doing gens in the killers face. You know you can still hit them? Aim away and lunge back. You can avoid a grab this way.
-
Then they wouldn't be linked.
-
OoO isn't messed up in the dream world. That's how the dream world works.
Your issue was not with OoO. It was a rank 17 going against reds.
-
If they block maps with bugs then what map can we play on?
🤔
-
Toxic? Always, but not a factor.
Low skilled? Yes
Also Freddy isn't weak anymore.
-
If they weren't running DS you'll be complaining about SWF.
-
Some embrace it faster than others.
-
So you want group chat to talk ######### to other players.

What do you mean, Pop have the same Power before the Nerf. It diden't do anything. A Nerf to Ds that would kill the game right now.
Reducing the timer
-
MMR is not on.
Rainbow ranks have always been a thing. (The very reason why we've been bitching about matchmaking forever)
The current system, ranks 20-15 can be matched with any lobby in order to give players faster matches. Ranks above 15 are matched with ranks closely to that rank and gradually spread out.
SWFs the highest rank survivor is used for MM.
You are a victim of the Devs wanting you to have faster match making over fairer matches.
-
Bring back POP. The two faced nature of bhvr's balancing team really showed with that nerf.

It wasnt nerfed, it was buffed. At least before you could dribble the survivor or use Enduring. Hell the stun timer was increased to 5 seconds simply because of Enduring. Now if you pair this up with Unbreakable, after an unhook that survivor is invincible for a minute and this can be said for all 4 survivors, making it EXTEMELY difficult to get pressure and start snowballing.
It was not buffed and anyone who thinks old DS was ok is being disingenuous.
Dribbling was the worst counter. A massive time sink and could be foild by a single body block.
If you think dribbling was fine then I don't want to hear about survivors jumping into lockers from you.
-
@DragonMasterDarren said:
the main reason people want DS nerfed is because of the combo with Unbreakable, putting the 2 together gives you a full minute of immunity from everything including Slugging
I believe the main reason is they don't want the survivor getting away. As long as DS can release the survivor from the killers back, killers are going to hate it.

It doesnt help anyone. The only reason you think its good is because you probably haven't taken it off yet.
I've played it both with and without. Nurse just feels too slow and sluggish without it.
-
Why won't they do more hotfixes instead of waiting months for chapter and midchapter patches?
That's right, they wanted version sync between all platforms. 🤮
-
It's been nerfed.
Proclaimed dead by the community (even though some reconized the potential)
and finally back in the lime light.
The moving of goal post with this perk is astounding. The perk is fair. That's all we wanted to begin with with the original nerf. It no longer denies a hook and no longer punishes a killer for downing a survivor. If you can't keep track of 60s, thats on you.
Hell, I've heard killer mains say it should be basekit. I'm not going that far but it just shows how much the perk has changed since release in 2016.

Again, not necessarily. Actually, in my experience, the best ones use shadowborn. Rayoxium does(she holds the world record for fastest 4k with nurse and huntress) Umbra does.(if you don't call her one of the best...get help.) And ussylis does(imo he's the best survivor in dbd, but a really good killer as well, and he mains nurse.)
Records in this game are worthless trash. Because they have nothing to do with the skill of the player but the incompetence of the opposing side.
Rayoxium is a good Nurse though, not the best but very good.

I wouldn't say that Shelter Woods is always empty, I think that certain variations of the map can be slightly unfair. The main problem comes when out of the 5 jungle gyms that spawn on the map, they are all either T&Ls or a Pallet gym. I think the map is perfectly fine when 2-3 Long Wall or L wall Jungle Gyms spawn, however I do understand where the frustration comes. With a good team who will use pallets efficiently, the map is fine as it is. Solo queue is a different story, as 1 chase can lead to Meg throwing 4 out of the 8-12 pallets on the map, and then the map is a pretty significant deadzone. This problem with deadzones is a reocurring issue, one which they did a really poor job with on the Autohaven rework
Pallet city was a ghost town the last time I played it.
-
Console players have bad internet?
It's not the connection speed. It's the fps that separates PC from console.
-
You mean Balanced Woods?
It's a coin flip. Either the map is full of pallets or barren. There doesn't seem to be a middle.
-
Stay safe and dodge bullets!
-
It used to be rare. Ultra rare you could say. Now it seems almost rare to uncommon. The move to servers sure weeded out the bad ones, right bhvr?
-
4 man 5 gen!
-
Rosy Retrospection.
Old Freddy was only good against bad survivors. A M1 killer who had to wait for his hits. A free escape off the hook to the exit gate. A guaranteed hit after 7s. Laughs in Wraith. Seriously, Wraith was considered a better killer.
-
I would say Shadowborn but....

Hell no. As a nurse main, I can't use that add on, because that stupid pillar of light blocks my view of the survivor and shatters my concentration. If you don't play nurse at high levels, you wouldn't understand this, but that would be a straight up nerf.
Agree
-
With everyone wearing masks it can be quite difficult.
-
I'll notify the Geneva Convention.
-
Kill rate would go up. The only reason killers lose survivors is because the chase music is so damn loud.
-
Yes survivors do and I've personally done so.
-
Assuming Killer perks.
There's actually 234 tiers.

oh wow... you can program in latency discriminators then? I mean most window hits ARE latency issues, not map or engine issues. grabbing survivors also are latency issues in how the engine treats this. I'd guess the grabs can be programmed because of the freeze but window hits are pure latency issues. you can be hit easily within 1 meter of a window. perhaps you can program to take care of the upstairs window and drop immediately hits.
Shhh.... You'll spoil it. 😉

Doesn’t change the behavior regardless of why he was found first.
It's just odd that they are always found first in every situation. If another survivor got caught in any of these instances they be the ones camped/tunnel. What are the odds that they are always the one found first? Maybe there's improvement needed to avoid being the first down.

oh okay, for me it is ~90-100k per match ~350 games so it is more than 60h but still not that much. Anyway thanks for those numbers.
Like to know how you pull off those numbers. Do you only play during 2x bp events?
-
Find some survivors who want a gen real bad and kick then leave.
Just repeat like you're a bad killer.
-
- Survivors did what they should.
- You can blame the teammates too.
- Yeah it sucks.
Just one thing I want to point out. 3/3 games you were "tunneled/camped" out of the match. You have three other teammates. Why were you the 1st one found each time?
-
~roughly that many games.
I'm using about 40k per game. (20k + BBQ)
No dailies or bonus bp with store codes.
-
I was expecting to see a DC tbh
