Since the rework I feel like this is one of the more balanced maps. But main can still be survivor sided especially upperstairs but also the long outer walls which may be annoying. Worst are obviously wiggle out swfs so something that addresses this would be nice.
this map would definitely also improve greatly with better fog (offerings can create weird results here) and more atmospheric lighting and depth of field as it feels very open.
-
This is library side open? 🤷♂️ well.. pretty much same as the East side anyways so same comment applies here mostly.
though i do miss the upper stairs in the library. They were a nightmare for balance but aesthetics and casually I miss it.
-
Always forget which is which.. this is the one with the helicopter area being open right?
well I don’t feel a big difference for both variants anyways so..
kinda annoying for both sides, very 3-gen-favoured and not much mind game potential, most loops are straight forward. Splitting and rework helped definitely though not enough.
aesthetically very cool though, it’s very close to the origin while you can clearly see the Entity’s influence and its adjustments for DbD gameplay worked better than I would have expected
-
THE killer sided map. But can still have issues for certain killers (two levels and few stairs/connections). Gates are too close so last survivor is pretty much dead if hatch is closed. Pallets are mostly unsafe except for a few which especially in solos can be non-existent due to random teammates throwing them as fast as they can. Long hallways can be quite boring.
i like the toilet area with the optional way up/down and the breakable walls being able to create a dead end!
also, while i don’t have any knowledge about Silent Hill (never played nor watched a playthrough long enough) the details are GREAT from a horror point of view alone. Girl crying in the stall, corpse falling out of the locker, overall atmosphere and assets. The clocktower having the special chest is also a neat detail.

Great... we gonna get a repeat of the Blackface Bubba incident?
Maybe. Maybe not.
Bubba blackface was literally blackface due to a texture bug and it was a licensed cosmetic making it harder to deal with for BHVR
-
Leatherfaces mask(s) were a different thing though. First of all, it’s licensed cosmetics so removing was the best choice as both BHVR and license holder needed to agree on the changes and possible future changes and this may take too much time. The Unknown though is completely originally created by BHVR and they can make adjustments as they please without needing a third party.
also, the leatherface mask for Claudette for not only him wearing Claudette’s face but the texture beneath the mask had some bug resulting in it being black (or significantly darker than for the other masks) and was directly Blackface - which likely wasn’t intentionally designed that way by BHVR or approved like that from the licenseholder
these are not comparable and expecting the same treatment is not reasonable.

Exactly. Report every instance you see, take screenshots and send it to BHVR. Be an ally. That's the best thing you can do for us.
Just as info: For end game chat, screenshots are not needed, nor an additional support ticket. In-game report is enough as reports areforwarded with he chat log

On topic/general discussion: it’s very weird for people to suggest hiding their identity before suggesting to punish/ban the harassers?? Like… it may not be intended that way but this does feel like victim blaming and please consider this may hurt people that have been likely in the closet for a long time and are now happy to express themselves. They shouldn’t expect harassment because of this.

they were added to more maps now? Can’t say I noticed that, I just know that they were already present at certain ones like RPD.
while I don’t like them too much I guess they don’t really take away too much and help inexperienced players and those with visual impairments. And they really aren’t neon colored either but fit in with the color schemes.
-
is it a bug though? Then this needs to be reported in the bug report section.
but this is not happening every time the perk is used. Just had a match against a survivor that started the invocation and no one got disconnected.
-
very bad balance-wise, I agree with most here.
but from a casual point of view, I still missed it when it was gone and like it when it’s not sweaty opponents. Can’t say I am too fond of this to be the map for Stranger Things though, would have loved some other parts of Hawkins/Upside Down Hawkins eg Wood area with Byers House and Christmas lights, or that pool (was it at Steve’s house?) or the Mall(!!)
-
Main is very survivor sided and main as well as rest of map have too many breakable walls (which are kinda boring/not interactive). Otherwise the map is finde balance-wise. I like the breakable wall in shack and that shack plays a bit differently because of this. gates can be annoyingly far from eachother
aesthetics are fine, would like to see new maps for this realm! Music in main is cool, vultures are great, the sky is beautiful (though not really creepy)
-
Balance is pretty much all covered already (pallet town, too few windows, very killer dependent where some are great on this map but others.. better afk for the match or meme..)
Saw details (that u am aware of - only watched the first 3 movies I think) are great!

apparently, I have to
Huge yikes. Like actually just… yikes.
Can only give that back.
-
You don’t need to educate me about something I’ve experienced.
apparently, I have to. Also your experience is not the only valid one.
The things at the top of the priority list should be what is going to benefit the majority of the player base.
Well, no? Only catering to the majority of a group is not the right approach. Also I never said it needs to be at the very top of the priority list at all - and I don’t think that was the topic at hand?
with that argumentation, FoV slider should never have come or any other accessibility option. And I am really happy that BHVR is not a company only trying to please the majority.
Also, never has anyone said these other accessibility settings should be lower prioritized.. but by your own argumentation they shouldn’t be addressed at all so you kinda contradicted yourself there..

accessibility settings that would literally affect no one
The whole "why are you against it when it won't affect you" argument doesn't really hold up. Yeah, the implementation of phobia modes wouldn't directly affect anyone else. But it would have indirect impacts on the rest of the playerbase because it diverts developer time, money, and resources away from other things.
It already takes the developers an enormous amount of time to do anything in this game. Like even basic features like search bars and FoV took ~7 years for us to get. And they were wanted by a large portion of the playerbase for a very long time.
Implementing phobia modes is much more work than people make it out to be. They'd need to give Plague neutral SFX, censor her sick animations, censor the survivors' sick animations, censor her mori, censor any offending add-ons. And then rinse and repeat for Clown, Doctor, and other common phobias etc.
It's a LOT of work for something that is ultimately pretty niche.
horror media is definitely not all about this
Also I disagree with this take. IMO the entire point of horror is to externalise the things we find scary and work through them in a way that is safe and entertaining.
a phobia is not just something someone finds scary. I don’t suffer from any kind of phobia and still enjoy horror media just fine. I don’t need to exclude someone who suffers from an irrational fear of a certain thing when this certain thing is not defining of the video game to begin with.
and taking away dev time is also a bad argument since this can be use against literally anything.
see for example people complaining about cosmetics when there are bugs. Sure, there are bugs but different devs work on different things and even if you put all resources into quality assurance, you won’t get rid of all bugs and you will lose on other things such as income or reputation.
also, it is NOT a lot of work as far as we know. You just need to adjust skins/audio client sided which to some extent is already possible. It certainly depends on which phobias they want to tackle (Plague would be harder as Clown) and what they want to adjust - eg you can argue that addons/Moris are mostly avoidable already so that people can ‚ignore‘ them without having to dodge the whole match. And they don’t need to do everything all at once.
-
Let’s hope we finally get rainbow birbs friends as charms!!!
but I think it’s likely that we do get some additional charms. Wouldn’t expect more at this point.
-
I think it’s easier than Ghostface reveal and you don’t have to have the killer centered accurately like that (sometimes Ghostface reveal seems very wonky imo)
you get a sound cue when the staring down is happening and the meter on your icon on the left is going down, giving you an idea of how much you already have and how much is still needed.
according to the wiki, staring down to remove weakened takes 10 sec

He also said Chucky wasn't a good fit for dbd, then we got him less than a year later? Mr Cote lies to his player base often, so not a good source. I know it was probably for hype and such, but I'd rather have honesty from such an individual.
I wouldn’t count future license talks like that as lies to be fair.
he can not just confirm which license they are currently working on or trying to acquire as there are NDAs and may break trust relations with the license holders and actively go against their own marketing as well. Saying something like ‚I Can not talk about this specific license right now‘ is also pretty much some sort of confirmation.. he shouldn’t deconfirm something completely when it’s already being worked on, sure. But unjust don’t think it’s fair to blame him/BHVR in this case.
On Topic: can very well be a hint, they have made all sorts of hints before (eg the ‚stars’ comment for the new years message followed by RE chapter for anniversary or the Pyramidhead shaped 4). I wouldn’t takeout as confirmation at all especially considering the convoluted license holder stuff but nice catch!

Did you restart the steam client after updating Dead by Daylight?
After restarting the steam client, I login to Dead by Daylight, played the game and completed the achievements. I was able to unlock the achievements with no problem.
i got Sables adept before so that wasn’t the issue.
@Orkai said:
Hey, did the Sable bleed out? For the Adept Challenges bleeding out doesn't count.
Thats it. I didn’t know, and the other one was hiding somewhere in a far corner (and got afk crows). I only ever slug for the 4K for Adepts or challenges and never ran into this case I guess.
-
Too early for balance takes, sure. But it does feel pretty big and therefore survivor sided. Also good for hiding.
but visually this map is great! So much cool details with the cinema and the flippers scattered around! Great color scheme and cool atmosphere and lighting with the car lights and street lanterns! Definitely one of the maps that wouldn’t necessarily need much improvement in this regard and depth of field and fog -while needing improvement in general- don’t feel too blatantly off here!
-
I think it’s okay balance wise. It has clutter, sure, and I am not playing killers as affected by it so can’t really say much about that but it doesn’t seem to affect the killers that I face significantly compared to other maps(?) and as survivor I get stuck on plenty of clutter that shouldn’t get me stuck so..
I think the main basement could use another way up possibly? But it’s not in that bad of a spot really
-
Still despite the rework survivor sided because of size and strong/annoying main especially because of the windows (the pallets on the outsides are mostly fine).
but, the visual rework is great! It actually feels like a forest in a rainy environment, the outside walls have great creepy sounds and walls/details in general are very cool!
-
Haven’t read the other comments, but generalizing a group of people is pretty much never a good starting point for a discussion..
there is all sorts of survivor players that all look for different things. Sure there are the entitled ones only wanting easy matches where they can bm the killer, but those are the minority and if you actually see them so often it might be because of your MMR/region level or it might be due to your playstyle.
same applies to killer players, and don’t forget many players do play both sides
-
I love the aesthetics and atmosphere of this map (minus lightning, fog, which needs improvement/going back to the origins of DbD). Having the carcass there is also a cool detail - wish there were more details like that though.
from a gameplay point of view.. well it’s horrific for some killers and great for others, which is due to many los blockings but narrow hallways/doors etc. I think these kind of maps are needed for a horror game however and contribute to the horror tropes - but maybe some more open/‚destroyed‘ areas without long walls?
gate spawns can be weird, but can favor either side so still better than Midwich I guess..
-
They were not even tied to owning the game MyM. At this point there is no confirmation that they will come back and they might stay exclusive.

It's a workshop for cars, many mechanics work out of garages just like the one in this map.
Oh.
yeah. Makes sense and I guess I actually knew the term workshop but well… thanks for the reminder 🫣
-
They probably used a tool like Umodel to extract the 3D models from the game files files and then imported those into some 3D program like Blender.
its pretty easy and there are a ton of short and easy to follow YouTube tutorials on this! Use a current one though as versions etc may be quickly outdated.
-
Yeah it will decrease after some time of not disconnecting. You can still play the game and it will decrease as well, though only if you don’t dc/get dc‘d!
so make sure that the issue is resolved otherwise you will accumulate the penalties again..
-
Due to lack of a main I kinda forget about this map often times. It’s not as bad as old Shelter Woods I guess but I still think something could be added/adjusted to include a main and make it more interesting.
-
First of all: why is it called Wretched Shop when it clearly is a Garage? 🤔
I think it’s a very basic and alright map all in all. Though it feels like it may have some too big deadzones for survivors and gen spawns can be weird resulting in complete empty areas
also, as a general for all Autohaven maps (and I will only mention it once here), the green tint feels too artificial and the ground and sky textures feel a bit too plain. And as always, depth of field should be reduced, fog should be enhanced to actually look like fog, lightning should be more sinister/atmospheric.
-
Rework was definitely making it better but it’s still more on the survivors side due to size and main being very strong. Just from visual design and DbD recognizability I like this map and the main very much.
-
With he rework, I think it’s in a very good spot right now. Would it be possible to have the main gen spawn upstairs or outside where it now is - just vor variability?
-
THE 3 gen map, so mostly not good and with a dumb random survivor team very killer sided, otherwise very survivor sided.
Main isn’t very special, both m aesthetically and gameplay-wise.
-
Uhm.
hello? What are these cute things and how did I never hear of them until now??
(they are Silky Anteaters and the smallest species of anteaters)
-
There is no return as it has never been available for consoles - only for Steam and Epic and there it is still on as far as i know.
console cross progress might never come. BHVR stated it is out of their hands at this point, but they are aware it’s a community want and they are trying.
@mikewelk said:
No official announcements, but there was a survey a couple months back regarding it and if we'd be fine if we lost something in order for cross progression to happen. Hard to guess at this point when we could see it.
Well, not losing as it would still be present on the current platform, it would just not be available when playing front the other platform. And it would only impact platform purchases and not actual progress or in-game purchases I think.
-
First variant is in a good spot imo, very much DbD, recognizable, mostly balanced loops, maybe the breakable walls in main can be a bit off..
Second variant seems too small (even if it’s not really too small) and harder to memorize as it lacks ‚landmarks‘? If that makes sense.. but maybe I have just not seen it often enough yet..
-
First variant was problematic with three-gen setups though I guess it may be resolved now. Can’t really memorize second variant yet.
I think it’s a little bit too big for non-mobile killers and center can be very strong for survivors depending on the spawns..
-
As was already said, only gripe may be main upstairs, overall a good and balanced map though. Totem spawns can be very weird here.
-
This one feels very survivor sided - the breakable wall needs to be broken and even then the window is often strong enough for survivors.
the map also feels kinda weird with the two side areas which are great gens for survs to spare until end (so not something my random teammates would do…)
-
Bit too big especially now that it has a (survivor strong) main building. Before that it was lacking something so good decision to add SMs building even though it feels kinda out of place a bit.
i haven’t even realized there are two variants of this map yet 🫠

I think Claudette qualifies as a killer too. Since they usually are the cause their team dies. You would think you're playing vs 2 killers instead of one.
In my experience, Meg and Mikaela are far worse than Claudette.
worst are two swf Mikaelas. If i am paying attention in lobby and not tabbed out i am dodging these.

I shouldn’t have to bring UM to find survivors this isn’t hide and seek dbd anymore. I have 5k hours.
Hide and seek is still part of this game and definitely is present in devs mind when creating new content.
also there is more options available than just UM
you have t earned the 4K (yet) and it is still just a game. Dont take it too seriously
“I have x hours“ is also never a good argument.
-
Main rework was definitely needed and feels good now.
i do remember seeing some beta footage where survivors could go under these things (what are they called in English??) at certain points! Would be cool to see this in a more general (not map specific) way explored. Eg instead of breakable walls make it breakable half walls that can only be passed through crouching survivors if not broken by killer? Just as a thought.
generally I think this map is also okay and balance wise, the farm maps all improved very much with the latest reworks.
-
ugh. I always think about the abattoir map when I read cowshed. Isn’t this just a red barn?
at times the current main can feel a bit too open/killer sided? But with certain pallet spawns it may be the opposite. So guess what I see for a setup when player killers vs when playing survivor. 🙄
I do feel like the previous version was easier to memorize the general layout though. This one is kinda.. well. Main and then everything around?
-
This is the one with the silo/bulk tank (I googled the translation, what would you call it?), right?
I guess it’s alright balance wise, main can be a bit boring with the long side if survivors know what they are doing against low mobility killers but there are worse maps.
-
I like the current version of Thompson house very much! Nice size, loops, deadzones not too big but still there, main looks visually ‚appealing‘, not too much corn but it’s there and is more than just noticeable
-
More on the boring side as there is no main, field area is too empty and too much corn isn’t fun.. for both sides at least imo. Loops and size may make it survivor sided but still very killer dependent.
i like the daylight setting, though would be cool to also have nighttime variants of coldwind (again) - also (and I know I am repeating myself) depth of field and lack of fog is making it too ‚open‘ and save
-
Claudette Morel! Love her!
Also Ellen Ripley, even though the game version and especially the perks don’t get close to the actual one from the movies.
from killer side there are many great designs and there is not one fav for me.. I think.. I do like the earlier designs more for the originals though (so Huntress, Nurse, Hag)
-
On topic:
I think a big reason why this offering was changed compared to other icons and even map specific things like the gallows is that these are completely avoidable by a player while a map offering will be thrown into your face. Not sure if that was part of the reason for the devs but I think that would be reasonable. Also I have never even seen anyone asking for or even demanding this to be changed. Definitely haven’t seen any ‚activism‘ regarding this
