I mean... it's probably a bad mechanic if it's not explained anywhere in-game, causes frustration, and the only way a player would know about it is by being on PC for endgame chat or talking about the game online.
Literally everything frustrates survivors and almost nothing is explained (kind of the point of the game is the unknown)... kind of a bad metric to judge a mechanic on.

No one is casual in the casual modes in any other game
You'll have more people learning in casual, but people who want to to stomp will still stomp. Since there's barely anyone in the world who likes losing, you'll still have the majority of people in casuals trying to stomp their opposition.
It's unavoidable.
-
DBD is not pay 2 win at all whatsoever in the slightest and in case you've been completely unaware of the games hacking problem, should never go Free to Play.
In fact, i'd rather they increase the base price and unlock some of the older Non-licensed chapters with the game (Feng, Ace)
-
I could very easily show you why it exists, people can and will be horrendous when they have no ability to blame themselves for their own mistakes in a video game.
-
Bruh were they always gonna come back the following holiday? Its a holiday skin for the holidays, people made it out to be like once the skin is out its unobtainable forever.
Give me a break.

Most people: Hooray! We are getting Solo Queue Icons!
Me, on top of that: Look at the Breakable Wall and window spawn over there... IT'S FABULOUS!

so whereas before, the vault had the loop advantage. Now, the breakable door destroys loops around the building as you would very easily be able to cut them off and force them to change directions?

They definitely are NOT buffing soloQ...might wanna see what they're plans are before you speak. Won't change the game at all.
if you believe that that Action Icons are neither a buff to solo Queue nor an absolute gamechanger, no amount of buffs would help you.
I'm sorry to say...
-
I'm going to assume Blindness removes the ability to see your teammates Action Icons?

1000% incorrect.
Survivor - escape
Killer - stop survivors from escaping
The survivor isnt trying to escape.
The killer is preventing the escape.
1000% survivors fault.
1000% incorrect
the survivor has a chance to escape via grab, the survivor has no chance of escape in a chase setting against a killer that instantly mori's them.
The survivor is surviving
the killer is not killing.
-
Survivor - Survive
Killer - Kill
The survivor is surviving
The killer is not killing
1000% the killers fault.
-
Oh no, both the killer and the survivor have to work for their wins or they'll lose.
Its almost like there's numerous perks that counter this on the survivor side, I wonder if the people on the survivor side will adapt or just complain every day and be ignorant.
-
clearly the rule of insanity does not apply to BHVR
may as well keep trying to get one good killer in the lockdown archetype, if 6 failed, surely the 7th will succeed!
-
I'm not out here taking We'll Make It and Reassurance for some cuck to go ahead and decide that my life is worth naught from the moment they hit Search for Match.
-
Their ego will not allow them to die with grace, so theyd rather have you die with them so nobody wins on the survivor side.
They may believe that they are more worthy, even if they're just selfish rats scrounging around looking for food.
If im in the situation I just sit on a gen until the killer finds and downs me, I dont have it in me to put up a fight with how easy slugging for the 4k truly is if theres more than one gen left to complete
-
What if being damaged and hooked consecutively (the killer targeted and hurt no one else but you), DS is refreshed allowing for 2 uses of DS if and ONLY IF the killer targeted no one else.
This would solve pure hardcore tunneling
-
there shouldnt be change for the sake of change
I'd rather them stop thinking making noob/meme tier perks are okay and just make everything at least somewhat comparably viable.
-
except camping and tunneling is in the worst state its ever been in, besides the increase to gen time, the incentive to camp and tunnel has reduced dramatically.
-
And this, Ladies and Gentlemen, is your teammate.

If one person distracts the guard, and a second person goes for the unhook, then whether the knight is there or not has no bearing on it being "the knight". Then it is just a regular camping killer. There is nothing special about the knight's kit once that guard is chasing Jake away. Use normal anti-camping tactics at that point.
Except the guard is an actual threat regardless of whether that one survivor remains by the hook or not, that survivor is removed from play and cannot continue to protect their survivor.
The Knight requires at least 3 people to safely pull a save if he is there in every situation that he is camping. All he has to do is force you to fake and then you die if you're alone. If there is someone else that person is no longer in the picture and then The Knight now can do the same faking with the other survivor now doing nothing because they have to be chased.
A killer that forces 75% of the team to be occupied when camping is HORRENDOUS killer design, they should have learned better
Hell, Pyramid Head has better Anti-Camp mechanics on hooks and he literally cannot damage you with the Trail.
-
I used to not run Eruption, but since I dont play top tier killers, its the only way I can fully compete against groups of coordinated survivors using everything to their advantage.
...Although I dont have a problem with that perk as survivor as I just go for the save to nullify the effect it has on the match.
I will say that for years I never used Dead Hard, BL, SB, Boil Over, and other abusable perks as the victories felt very hollow when their balance was in their original state.
-
The killer got 3 kills with only 3 perks, they deserve every second of the No Way Out that they got since you massively outperked them at every moment up until this point.
Dont be upset that you died, learn that not everything in life is supposed to be in your favor.
-
their theme is lame, their gameplay is lame, their effect on the match is lame. I'd rather die in 10 seconds to Nurse than to be in a 20 minute match due to their half-ass slowdown

Yep, I record with Nvidia's built in recording software and import "video frames to layers" into Photoshop.
nice, thanks for letting me know!
-
Those old perks in their older states were almost exlusively used to abuse situations
Instead, actual anti-camp perks like Guardian should be buffed.,

Zoning together with a zombie is part of his gameplay, if you allow that to happen, thats on you. the zombie is slow as hell.
Also, the zombie is attracted to sound, if someone is failing skill checks, or the killer has gen perks that explode the gen, the zombie is going to travel there. the last gen is SUPPOSED to be the hardest to complete, not everything has to be a walk in the park.
There is no reasonable scenario in which all spray cans would be used up. None. How bad do the survivors and the killer have to be that no one has ended the match in that massive amount of time?
-
You mean like how Huntress' take Iron Maiden because it is disproportionately stronger on her and Trickster than other killers and that the fear of BBQ creates free Exposures?
I think well be fine, even that's not an issue
You can enter into a locker to remove Artists birds and no ones trying to "Abuse" Iron Maiden.
You can Avoid Doctor shocks with Lockers as well

Same reason why Madness skillchecks aren't affected by Lullaby
I expect that the perks will contain stuff like
-doesn't affect your power
-non-stackable
-no fun allowed
Myers has to fit in the No Fun Allowed category because he is just basic vaulting. The slight buffs to his mobility and lunging from Tier III just helps him not be at the rock bottom of the tier list.

What the game needs isn't exactly unbreakable basekit. It is a flat 30 second unmodifiable timer that says, 'you've been down for 30 seconds, now you aren't,' and picks up the survivor regardless of their healing progress.
That gives some play for finding the last or chasing away the swf, but also puts a time limit on those killers that exploit the four minute bleed out timer every single game.
well then they exploit the 30 second timer and attack them the moment they get up
-
A killer designed for Dead By Daylight, designed to be horror. I love what he could be.
fails to be scary due to phallic design and mediocre strength.
Sure he makes things dark and makes you guess, the locker TP is sudden and the sfx are nice! The issue is, knowing hes not strong is what makes him underwhelming.
What always makes Myers scary is you DONT EVER know how strong he is, until he gets there. Is he aura reading myers? is he infinite myers? Is he mori myers? You dont know, and you dont want to find out. You can be less than top tier and still be menacing, Dredge does not do that.
-
- calls people unskilled
- uses Bloodlust to the point where they believe the game is unenjoyable if they don't have it activated.
Okay.
-
My response wouldve been more along the lines of, "I take advantage of it"
More often than not, the ones who bm at pallets will get caught and be downed at one, you just have to know whether their team is pounding out gens. Its all the more special when they dc after you down them because you executed your attack right before the stun would affect you.
-
Give him whatever as long as he cant just have his minions perform a 3 meter route directly in front of the hook. BHVR shouldve known that people would do this, even Pyramid Head had greater hook restrictions.

imagine if both teams combined on the core game, it would be in a really good state right now
At least bring them in so that we can see our teammates perks in the pre-game lobby.
-
I remember when I used Whispers, before Scourge hooks, before Gen kicking perks were good, before Undying...ah...how horrendous.
-
People have been saying random survivor perks are OP for years...and then no one ever uses them.
-
If there are no killers, the game dies. If there are no survivors, the game dies.
They'd be foolish to cater to one side, even if there is a 4:1 ratio.
-
its just less foggy...thats literally it. Maybe increase the blood on the floor and the sunbeams coming from wherever and its the same but higher fidelity.

I will say it's quite funny that we get prompted for the Labour of Love award when chapters releasing in November/December/January are notoriously the worst.
Like, 2020 we had A Binding of Kin. And after that, we were asked for Labour of Love. I think that's enough said.
2021 we had Portrait of a Flop, featuring one of the most universally hated killers (Artist), a very mediocre survivor with bad design and possibly the worst lore to date, and a map that nobody actually likes playing on, they just bring the offering because it's that damn strong.
And now, 2022, we have Forged in Flop. Featuring a killer who doesn't have a functional power half the time (and when it does work it doesn't matter because the only fun way to play him is to purposefully handicap yourself), a Survivor who has managed to divide the community based on BHVR's new marketing strategy of "Make him hot, and make him hotter" while completely ignoring their Survivor they released for the sixth anniversary of the game, and a map that's bugged to spawn every pallet under the sun while being a nightmare to track, well, anything on.
They really do have terrible timing.
Also Legion, the worst patch ever.

Can You please show what uses it has? In which scenario i should use this perk?
I cant drain power from first gen with hope to use it at the end in 3 gen scenario, since its too wide window for killer to hit me with any means, including trapper traps.
I cant use it at 4 gen, because time is prescious at the end.
I can use it at gen im already doing in hope that when i spot killer i will immidately finish the gen... tho its better to just do gen usually, since im losing up to 10% progress.
I can see it viable in 3 gens scenario if killer is just weak, and there is no need to worry about tokens... but in this scenario... killer is weak, i already outplayed them...
So? In which scenario this perk can be usefull?
Literally Day 1 I used this perk
Nemesis had Tinkerer
I used Potential Energy on an easy/safe gen far away from the action
I complete the gen and work on an unsafe gen with the nearby pallet broken.
Tinkerer procs, I only see Nemesis approach with around 16 meters to spare with no TR.
I pop Potential Energy, the gen completes, and I have a minor gap to reach a strong loop with.
You could also do this with Merciless Storm to prevent you or any incompetent allies from failing the Skill Checks.
You can also do this with Surveillance. You can instantly dump progress on a gen as you hop on it, and by the time the killer can react and reach you, you've completed the gen.
-
Poor use of killer powers should benefit survivors. Its called a skill floor. Skill up or cry. like every game should be.
-
If a survivor would do gens while a killer was afk, I see no issue with a killer downing and hooking an afk survivor. If i was that survivor, its my fault, I shouldn't have grabbed my third cup of cranberry-mango juice while the game was loading.
To your point, sometimes we play bad, sometimes we play extremely well in situations that already were a detriment to our opposition. Matches arent that long, we all move on and try to enjoy the next game. If not, play Civ! It's a really good game.
-
Smash Hit/Lithe players can use it to their advantage. I'm being optimistic about this, this is otherwise extremely pointless.
The question is whether or not this fills in the complete empty space that usually spawns in there instead (assortment of lawn chairs and rubble with no pallet)
-
I'll just face the wall like Ive always done.
-
Self-Care can not be nerfed enough, i want to see 0 people using it. Take Inner Healing, for the love of Entity!
-
Why did you see three gens close to each other and decide, 'nah, leaving them for last couldn't be so bad' then come here and complain as to why its so bad.
If a killer chooses gen defense perks over aura perks or chase perks and wins a 3 gen because you let a 3 gen happen, that is ultimately your fault and you need to come to grips, accept that, and move on.
-
the names are oriented on how good they are to say phonetically.
-
If one person kills themself on hook everyone is dead, one person inflicts a 4k for the killer. These stats are bunk. Everyone is killing themselves.
