As someone who plays both sides, it absolutely sucks to be camped and tunneled and recently it's been 100 times worse. I've even body blocked to the point of going down completely to give someone I just unhooked a chance and the killer STILL ignores an easy hook and wastes time tunneling. I know the killer can get penalized for wasting as much time as they do this way but the down side is I'm seeing it be more and more effective. Killers are tunneling and camping so more of the team is on altruism duty to try and prevent it, everyone goes down and no gens get done.
On the killer side, I'm seeing why killers are camping and tunneling. Survivors are playing like they've got nothing to be afraid of and it's frustrating, not to mention all the lag that's been going on compounding everyone's frustrations. I don't know what the solution actually is because it seems far more convoluted than to put one thing down and say "this will fix it" but they definitely need to do something.
BHVR has always maintained that camping and tunneling are part of the game mechanics but it's getting to the point where I think they're going to have to make a decision whether to support it or to start punishing for it because what they're doing now does not work. Every time they try to put something anti-tunnel in, the killers seems to take it as a challenge to prove they'll do anyway.

I've just had the same issue. Was iri 1 a couple hours ago, log back in and now ash 4
-
Prior to the latest update, there were no percentages in-game itself. The wiki displayed what it had datamined/calculated but in game it would have just said "considerably" as an example. I would be happy to test it with you.
-
Firstly welcome to the game!
Now to your question. Yes, there are certain places it's more likely to spawn than others though I have seen it be completely random and no matter how many times I circle the map I can't find it. What I might suggest would be to use some of the brown addons which control the hatch appearing in the main building or killer shack, it will give you more of a chance until you get used to finding it. One thing I can recommend is if you're chasing the survivor, try and chase them back the way they came rather than trying to beat them to hatch. Chances are it isn't where they'd just come from and that gives you a better chance to get them down before they find it.

Here is my log. Please note that it is NOT ONLY medkits. Every item is coming into the game losing a charge.
DeadByDaylight.log -
I've noticed this isn't just medkits. It's a wider issue where any item seems to be loading into games with one charge missing, meaning you can't get a full heal out of a 16 charge kit. You can see it if you pay attention to the gauge when you load in, there's a sliver already missing.

I'm experiencing the same, started at the same time.

thats not the issue "2 man is good, 4 man is bad" the issue seems on my end when the cursed seeds are played, 2 games they were played, didnt load, 2 games they werent played, did load
btw all 4 games were queued as a 2 man, so that shoots your theory down immediately
It....wasn't a theory. I was sharing what was happening when I experienced the issue so the devs can track any trends. Yeesh.
-
The only time we've experienced the infinite loading is when we are trying to load in as a 4 man SWF. We split off and tested it as 2 groups of 2 survivors and there have been no issues loading in.
We are all PC Steam players and with crossplay on. This started yesterday.

Platform: PC
Description: It strats with 3 hatchet. But, after using all hatchet. Reloading won't fill untill 3 hatchet. Only 1 hatchet will be.
That's my 1st time it happen.
As landromat mentioned, it was a relatively recent nerf. Now the iri head description states "Iridescent Head does not stack with Add-ons increasing the Hatchet Carrying capacity."
-
I had the same thing happen but only once. I just backed out to the main menu then back in and it's not done it since.
-
Excellent, thanks for confirming. I wondered if it was part of the crash fix but I wasn't sure.
-
Meant to add this is on PC but I suspect penalties aren't system specific.
-
I am often caught in the same dilemma. For whatever reason, the RNG really loves to weigh more heavily on the corn map. Sometimes you can show it what for by throwing map offerings down for a bit, reset the RNG.
It is especially painful when RNG sends you there and then you have your next game someone putting the offering down.
Fear not, we are here in solidarity!
Also I would love there to be an offering where you could be like "I don't care where I go, but I don't want to go THERE!"
-
Yeah, I'm not sure it's fixed completely. I just played this game on PC and it gave me the emblem as though I escaped broken but I died. I was the last one to die but still died.
-
I have had the same issue, the hitboxes/distance seems off.
-
I am also having an issue where if you die during the match, you get nothing for unbroken, as opposed to getting points for how long you were alive.
-
I just discovered this bug as well. Clicking on the top bar to switch between players the game acts as though you're clicking to a different window (as if alt-tabbing out of the game). The sound comes back when you click anywhere else but the top bar.
-
I've noticed this too but honestly I just assumed it was working as intended.
-
I had a player do the same thing. Best bet is to go here https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us and submit a ticket. They are hacking.
-
I have thought it would be nice to have a few more emotes to do, even something like a "stay here" or "watch out" type of motion.
-
I like the sounds of this too. I hope the devs take this idea to heart and realize how fast some gens can be done. Been having gens completed in under 5 minutes way too often lately.
-
This is happening on PC too. If you have the camera too close to the wall, you can see a brief flash of scratch marks.
-
You should be able to play with people from NA, I play with a friend in the UK on a regular basis and I'm in NA. You should take note though that if the NA player is hosting, you will have a bit higher ping because you'll be playing on an NA server. The reverse is also true for the NA player if they join you.
Otherwise, you should have no problem joining them. Sometimes it could be if they have their profile set to private or they, or you, aren't showing online through steam then it could cause issues.
Feel free to add me on Steam if you'd like.

It honestly depends on your playstyle. I have all the perks unlocked and I can't say I use any of their perks all that often myself, but that's me personally. Steve's perks seem to focus a lot on partnership, helping others to help yourself. Like with babysitter, where the person you unhook has their scratch mark suppressed. And Second Wind, in which you have to heal someone else a full health state and then after you get unhooked, you'll have an automatic self heal similar to how the needle works with med kits.
I've not found how I can use Ash's perks successfully but I know there are good builds that use Mettle of Man, if you're the type to play more aggressively.
Tapp's perks are good for your own survival and are good against slugging killers.
Yui is similar to Ash in terms of having perks that seem better for more aggressive players or those that like to/can distract the killer.
I hope this helps you figure out a bit better who you might like to go with :)

The last two matches I played Object of Obsession was running on my Strode. I didn't take that Perk in either match. It seems to be on for me all the time, regardless.
When you say it's running all the time, I assume you're meaning you can see the killer aura all the time? I wondered if maybe the killer was running Rancor and it looks like object?

Are you stupid? It's not about the toxicity of swf. It's that it's impossible to win against a well coordinated swf group. That opinion is shared by many YouTubers I watch. Otz being the first I ever heard say it. I can deal with toxicity. I like learning the game and getting better at it. Doesn't change the fact that you can't win and it's not a fun match against these kinds of groups.
I'm sure I play against many SWFs and win. I'm sure you do too, but if you actually win, you don't give two shits if it's a SWF or not because you won. And here's a thought, don't take your opinions from YouTubers.

And your response is exactly what's wrong with this community. I shouldn't have to adopt a more toxic play style just to be competitive. I run mad grit and lightborn if I see 2 or more flashlights. If people want to be toxic when they play, then bully for them. However, I shouldn't be forced to play with them and also be completely unaware it's about to happen. It's really not a good game model to have that level of toxic play in the game mode where you're supposed to get points and progress through your characters. It makes it a heavily one sided trial. If you want to play with your friends then you should be in private lobbies in this kind of game. I'm guessing you're a toxic Chad that mains survivor, especially with how you responded.
What you're missing OP is that they have perks in the game to combat different playstyles. You're saying you shouldn't have to adopt a toxic playstyle but what you're asking is for survivors to stop playing so toxic because YOU don't like it.
What you also have to understand is that you don't need be in a SWF to be toxic. You just need to be aware of your surroundings and other players. It doesn't require communication in any form. The same with playing in such a way to counter toxicity. Don't go to the hook they expect you to go to. Be unpredictable. One thing I've seen as a killer in terms of toxic groups is, especially SWFs (and I've experienced it in a SWF as well) is that they will oftentimes go so out of their way to save their buddy that they don't get anything done.
You cannot place the blame on how people want to play their game because you don't like it or because it makes things hard for you. Maybe you need to find a killer you play better as. Maybe you just need to explore different perk combinations. But the solution is not to just prevent people from playing with their friends because it makes it harder on you. That's a cop out because, frankly, it sounds like you don't want to try and get better at the game, you just want the wins to be handed to you.
-
Somebody doesn't know how to play toxic enough to counter toxic groups. Lightborn and mad grit are your best friends.

I mean....its right there in settings dude. At the very bottom. Have been there for a long ass time.
Yes, thank you. I knew that setting was there but it didn't occur to me that it encompassed the updated cross play. I found out about it shortly after my comment but could not find this thread again to update.
-
I feel like if you did that, it would be at great cost because you get a lot of bloodpoints for them. Either redoing them would only give you like...1% of the original amount or none at all.
-
I'm getting my ass handed to me by console survivors. And I've played only against consoles since this cross play started.
I would happily take my 5 minutes killer queues back if I could opt out of cross play.
-
If they add voice chat to this game, I will be turning it off completely.
If they add it and opting out is not an option, it might be enough to make me stop playing.
-
What is the biggest learning curve with the new matchmaking system is : ranks can no longer be used to judge the system. I've been finding it very hard to get used to myself today. What I would really enjoy is if they provided some more detail on how survivors' skill set is being matched to the killer's because so far all I've seen is it being based on the killer skill level.
I also wonder how easy it's going to be to game the new system with SWFs.
-
Pretty sure if your internet is crashing that has nothing to do with the game. Get better internet, figure out why your game is crashing.
-
I would recommend right clicking on the game in your steam library, go to properties -- local files -- verify integrity of game files. If anything has become corrupted, it will find and repair the files.
If this doesn't work, there are also this website and step 5 shows you how to repair EAC itself.
Dead by Daylight (DBD) keeps crashing? Don't worry. You can fix it. Here is a list of fixes that have worked for many players. Check it out... -
It's nothing to do with this game in particular. It's a Windows effect that affects all games. The only way you may be able to counteract it is to reduce the resolution percentage in DBD to make up for the difference. So like if your monitor is set for 125%, set DBD for 75% and see if that works.
I've come to the conclusion that there aren't many games which run well yet at higher than 1080p. And if you're playing DBD, you aren't really looking at the small icons on your desktop at that time. I never found it a huge deal to take 5 seconds to swap resolutions so the game I'm playing works better but it's up to you.
It's definitely not a DBD bug.
-
This may be a silly question but have you checked to make sure the correct payment option is being used? Like if you recently got a new card, the expired version may still be listed. Have you tried different payment methods to make sure it's not a bank issue?
-
part of the issue here is your resolution. I got a new 4K monitor and attempted to run it at that, but when you run 4k windows recommends 150% so your icons remain the same size they were before.
If you have your monitor at 1920 x 1080 and 100% resolution it should work fine.

I believe I heard that they implemented it, and removed it. and if it wasn't, it sticks very close to the rank anyways.
Either way... I agree with the thread. It needs to be fixed/redone. Played a match with a friend that just got the game a little while ago, and we went up against a rank 15 killer. I'm rank 1. He was rank 19. It wasn't pretty. And I wasn't wanting easy matches, I simply wanted to play with a friend that just recently got the game.
As a killer, I just had a match where 2 people were the same rank as me, and the other two were much higher. That was a long and frustrating match. Why was I matched with them, when I clearly cannot compete? I would much rather wait a longer time to get a more fair match than quickly get into an unfair match.
I definitely agree it needs fixing/improvement. I linked the post because a lot of people I talk to don't seem to know it was a thing that was happening at all. And given that it's secret, it's hard to say whether it's been stopped or just being tested further. It does explain the rank discrepancies we see at times, though I do believe a big issue is making sure no one is in queue for too long. This is something which could theoretically be solved if cross platform works.
There was someone earlier that mentioned pairing a lower rank killer with a SWF group that is all red/purple ranks except for one low rank person and I think this would be great. It's not fair for the killers who are legit low rank and it's less fun for the higher rank survivors. Though it is more depressing if you still die to a low rank killer.
