I think if stbfl was nerfed it would require more overhauls for the low mobility killers like we are seeing with trickster here. Do survivors really want to nerf stbfl? That could have some detrimental effects to the game especially since we are already seeing anti camp feature destroying all variety from the game.

I think BHVR allows them because of their lack of accessibility options (and maybe it's too difficult/ expensive to implement, idk anything about these kind of things). I tried a filter for a couple days to compensate for my peculiar vision issues and it was night & day.
(Then I chickened out and uninstalled it because I was scared I'd get banned if BHVR changed their mind about it lol)
There's surely many people who use them for an advantage but there's also a bunch who use it for accessibility or just to make their game look nice. Cheaters will find an other way to gain an advantage, monitors with built-in filters and options are common nowadays anyway so it's not like BHVR could get rid of them all if they wanted to.
They actually could eradicate them all easily, especially since all you have to do is set the file structure to be followed the same way regardless or it results in a ban and loss of all progress. You have to trap the cheaters; you can even make a signed waiver (which we all agree to a user agreement anyways so why not just add in complete anti cheat in the process to protect players) before anyone plays the live service to begin with and add a phone number. They will never ever do it again and it will help out the vanilla/console players tremendously. You see common sense will save everyone and the game will make tremendous amounts of more money rather than have players quit because they go against a cheater discouraging play.

For me this is actually the truth. The Autoheaven maps are very difficult for me to see anything that is remotely "dark". I tried all in-game options and none worked.
I only use slight alterations like more contrast and 3% more brightness and only for this realm. If I don't and you play a killer/survivor in dark clothes I am physically unable to see you because of the weird green/black color palette of the map. Doesn't matter if you are Myers, GF, Pig, Slinger, Wesker, Hag or a Claudette. The only way I can see killers on this realm in certain areas is by their red light. The rest just blends in.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/396938/can-we-enforce-vanilla-gameplay
If you give me more options to accommodate for my ######### vision on Autoheaven (and Springwood in some cases) then yes (see above). But you can't just call all people cheaters just because they use their GPU drivers.
Sure there are extremes, especially in comp dbd, where I have seen some filters which just make everything greyed out except red, so they can scratches/red stain better. Or the ultra saturated bright ones.
Also modern monitors come with similar filters and you can't just deny people to use certain monitors.
I personally think that if this is an accessibility issue just stick to single player games, the game is designed a specific way to protect its players and provide skilled play through having to actually pay attention to what is going on in the trial plain and simple. If you are gaining an advantage over the other in any way since anything little in DBD can boost you tremendously, you are hurting the experience.

It's just the way they are balancing things now, some of perks can just win you trials like the old days. While most are restricted.

I suppose this means you wouldn’t use a strong killer perk before it is confirmed to soon become weaker?
For killer it's different, you need to prepare for any changes when it comes to maining the role so it's best not to run it at all. But survivor man, those devs got you covered man.
-
I don't mind mft as long as the survivor isn't cheating, if they are cheating omg it will be the worst experience of all time.
-
It's like ftp into buckle up, BUT they all do have counters. Lightborn for background player, and stbfl or forced hesitation for the buckle up strat. They may not be fun to face, but at least we have counters for those.

@Mondhirsch said:
Can we please get a mechanic that prevents to get the same Killer twice in a row?
There is already a decreased chance to get the same map twice in a row, so why don't we just do that for Killers too?
I'm so tired of facing Blight 4 of 5 matches. This would lead to more variation.
The problem is what we are stuck with now, Anti camp feature has removed a lot of variety overall. At least you'll get variety next chapter, you'll see a lot more Chucky and Trickster, fun is subjective. But at least you might not see as many blights.
-
Well I think for trickster its not fun to face survivors while he's bad, at all. This buff will keep him away from the hooks and incentivize a lot fairer play for him. I think the devs are making a good decision here tbh, hes been the worst killer ever since release. He needs this.
-
I think at this moment in time balance wise it's fine, especially granting potential stacks of save the best for last. If save the best for last receives any nerfs then I would say start nerfing the endurance stuff. It does suck to deal with this perk in a trial without stbfl, but hey you didn't run the perk, or hell if you can';t buy the perk run forced hesitation, you can get the hit before they ftp then.
-
Anything that's non-vanilla is cheating. It hurts others experience if games aren't played the way they are supposed to be played.
-
It definitely will make it to live servers, it will be the end of m1 killer. Unless you can break all the pallets, good luck with that.

Just went up against a team that was running this and it was a nightmare. I don't understand why all survivors don't just use this combination because I guarantee that it will carry you right to the exit gates where you can show off your dance moves to the killer and give them a free lightshow (ultimate bundle)! I have seriously never been so gen rushed in my entire gaming experience. One knock and two gens are down even with Corrupt Intervention still active (it was like halfway done). I didn't even manage to hook them because a survivor sabotaged the hook with a toolbox. I managed to knock them down again and decided to just tunnel them out of the game because I didn't want to lose my rank and a generator right next to the hook already had 40%+ worth of progress. I had to down a bodyblocking survivor and injure many others but, in the end, I managed to sacrifice the survivor and the gates were powered straight away. All FIVE generators in like under FIVE minutes even after the whole team went out of their way to take a hit for that survivor. I couldn't put any pressure on generators since the shrine of secrets is terrible and I didn't have any perk for it and they were all spread out so there wasn't even any point risking. I wasn't even face camping and instead tried to minimize the damage already done in the area near hook but they just sprint bursted away to another generator. Why am I feeling helpless as a decent killer? There was absolutely nothing I could have done to counter that. If I went for a different survivor, another one would replace them on the gen.
This is exactly why there shouldn't be anti-tunneling perks/base-kits until this sort of gen rushing gets nerfed because that was just crazy. Once gen rushing gets nerfed I really won't mind not tunneling and I'm sure other killers wouldn't either.
Survivors with this build are gambling their life to cut corners, just take out the garbage and tunnel the guy with the build out. Simple as that.

With gen regression removed, swfs can literally just crank gens with no punishment. It's honestly out of control. I just played a match with 4 bnps, in which the match lasted about 5 minutes.i couldn't get any pressure either.
It's sad, they remove a 5 second stun perk and a perk that extended chase for free and gave the ineptitudes base kits perks, free unneeded info, and many other great changes to their role as well. They still to this day can never utilize any of these buffs.
-
I know a lot of players play low level dbd, but trust me ds is in a great spot. You cannot just run one perk anymore to influence your escape you'll need to run a combination of perks to get full use. Off the Record, DS, Dead Hard, and then adrenaline.

But you will basically almost never encounter really good survivors even when you play a weak killer... Unless you scrim against some good players chances are good you will get the average guys all the time.. At least in normal matchmaking
When all you do is go for straight up kills no matter the cost, you'll be quite surprised how far up they can get up in mmr.

Nah man, most solo survivors I encounter both when playing survivor and killer just stack up on gens and that's less efficient... And I did not even a SWF with coms when I said a good survivor team... Just imagine a stack of people all somewhat equally skilled not necessarily in a group... They will loop you for ages and also split up on gens... And why would you need reassurance anyway? XD If you don't camp it is kind of wasted anyway...
Im referring to the weak killers in a high level setting.

Against a really good survivor team yes... Against the average guys you get via matchmaking not.
The solos actually do gens faster from my experience. And with reassurance anything is possible on any survivor team.
-
Lets just face it, killers are screwed, at least the weak ones
-
Eruption and Reassurance should both be removed/nerfed. They completely ruin the games balance and don't require any sort of skill whatsoever. I understand that you want a pay to win type of perk like old ds and stuff. But it isn't working, make good cosmetics and we can buy those instead.

Lazy? Maybe think about how I don't have TIME to play to earn those things? Most people out there have jobs, school, family etc.
Also, for the record

For my country, that is more than half what a better than average salary worker is paid a month. And a better than average salary is barely enough to live with current prices.
I understand, you just want to be handed things in an pvp game while others will have to work for it(which is actually fun you shod try it). You could always play single player games, those will actually work with your schedule. DBD has one of the most fairest models i have seen in a long time and actually rewards you for sticking with it. You could be richy rich in DBD and lose consistently because you dont play the game enough. Looks like youll have to play the game some more.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3252843#Comment_3252843
P2W means YOU MUST put money in the game to reach a certain point or power level
Unless I can't read, that's pretty much what YOU said.
And pay to skip grind is another breed of p2w. For dbd, it's not as bad of one, but look at a game like clash royale as I said in an older comment. You could 100% win without op characters and you could 100% unlock all the characters by playing. But because of the grind being so tedious and based on luck, people who just spent thousands got everything right off the bat and dominated f2p players.
Since by your logic, p2 skip grind isn't p2w, a game like CR isn't p2w either.
It's not that dbd has as strong of a p2w mechanic as other games, but it is there mostly in the form of perks. Many, but MANY VERY usefull or outright op perks are locked behind a paywall. The shrine is also not even close to a "fix". The 4 perks rotation worked when there were 33 perks as when it was released. With the current hundreds of perks it's extremely stupid. It's been over 2 years since SH and we've had no Soul Guard in shrine (a good perk). Over an year and no lethal pursuer and I'm not sure about eruption (very good perks). Before the nerf, BBQ had appeared like 3 times (meta perk)
Those were just some mere examples. They absolutely should rework the shrine. Currently it's a disastrous counter to p2w and buying anything from it is a scam.
Just play the game and stop complaining. You players are getting ridiculous, not the devs or anyone elses fault that you're too lazy to earn.
-
Hes like old clown, throws the bottle(would also slow down clown) then survivors could just run to the next tile while the other survivors could do gens easily. He has potential but has no true threat available.

P2W isn't exclusively locking wins behind a paywall. It is also granting advantages in gameplay to people who paid. If they were to make trapper the only killer unpaid, by your definition, it wouldn't be p2w, because you can still 4k as trapper.
Also, when characters granting you a power that makes you more likely to win are locked behind either a tedious grind or a paywall, that is also p2w. You can't possibly say that in the hypothetical scenario of Nurse being paid, a new player who pays for her will not have bigger chances to win than another new player who doesn't pay for her and instead grinds for hours.
Personally i think you have a skill issue or have become entitled. Some killers take way more time to process there abilities and others you can just pick up and play. You could even say the same thing about survivor perks. If you see these things as pay to win in DBD you are completely blind since the game has always been based on procederal generation in the first place.
-
This is not a pay to win game due to the shrine of secrets alone. You get rewarded in dbd the more you play and the more you want to learn on how to actually play the game on both sides.
-
All you do is say gg wp. Game interaction in the trial is fair game. But after that its best to have good sportsmanship and move on. This is the story of an asymmetrical experience.
-
Sad to say this, but with pentimento in the game they cannot make this basekit.
-
Honestly anyway to not play against fast gens I would give these survivors props.
-
Run reassurance and hyperfocus. Then the 3 survivors leave. Your mmr as a team will go up, 1 kill is a loss for killer common sense. Then move on to the next match.
The other idea is not to get caught in the first place, same perks for the team but predrop the pallets( to also avoid spirit fury, nemesis, pwyf etc.) Hell use map offerings for God sakes stop whining use strategy against the killers strategy. Lol
The last bit of info let known about solo queue since the morons only excuse is this is situation, if youre playing in this form and are still complaining about losing. You will have to form a team since survivor is a team role. Otherwise get used to losing or use solo queue as a practice ground to learn instinct and good teamwork without comms.
-
Survivor mains are mentioning 61 percent before hyperfocus and reassurance came out. Along with all of the dcs and whiny survivors that abused those numbers.
-
At the end of the day survivors camp and tunnel gens as much as a killer can do the same thing to a survivor. This is dbd and it is what it is.
-
Sadly this has been going on for a while, probably will never get fixed either.

There is no such thing as tunneling gens.
Generators and Survivors are not equivalent in any way, shape or form. Survivors simply doing their objective is not genrushing, or to use your words "tunneling generators".
Killers don't deserve to be spoon-fed kills for playing badly, just as survivors don't deserve to be spoon-fed escapes for playing badly. If you play badly, expect to lose.
I'll say it as many times as it needs to be said, play however you want but don't expect the opposition to praise you for employing boring strategies to ensure your victory.
Everyone who plays this game is, to a degree, responsible for ensuring that the game is fun for everyone involved.
To be fair while a survivor is doing a gen they are technically camping and tunneling their own objective (the gen). And when that happens no matter how fast the progression is on that said objective you are technically also taking fun away from the killer. That is why the best stance to have on the game for your sanity, well being, etc. is to always know that you have to make your own fun in dbd. If you cannot figure that out you have to move on to another game.
-
We have to go off mathematics to have something that makes sense. SBMM is a way more fair system for both sides, and as well compliments most of the roster as a whole rather than a few select killers. The emblem system i will give its credit was great for potato survivors giving the killer a set rules while survivors could pretty much do whatever they wanted. At this point in dbds history at high level play was an absolute joke leading to the killer to have rely on HUGE mistakes, an example was a missed ds skill check. Which my god was super easy to hit. All in all in an asymmetrical game where both sides have advantages, the 2k 2 escapes system makes the most sense.

I think they're a massive problem for streamers and a very small problem for everyone else.
Definitely worthy of attention, but solo queue buffs should be top priority.
This doesnt only effect streamers, it also effects long term players as well. This should be extreme first priority on top of the list.
-
They have very weak territorial killers in dbd, if they were to remove proxying, camping, or facecamping you would need to buff those killers significantly. They probably already tested these ideas but they found them to be probably worse for the fun factor of the game.
Maybe later on they will change these things, but i honestly dont see it happening at all. Just dont get downed or hell hide theres nothing wrong with that at all.
-
He wont because he can kill survivors straight up with use of specific addons.
-
Why dont you stop camping those gens? Then we can talk... Lol
-
For a non mobility m1 killer dbd will always be a survivor sided game. It's sad to figure this out over many hours but it is what it is.
I have been saying for years that no killer that requires 2 hits to down while also having no mobility should never ever have to deal with a third health state. But the developers wont do it, they always give survivors way too much safety throughout all trials. I honestly feel like the amount of pallets are enough.
The only thing i will say is run save the best for last, but even that what happens when it acheives high usage rate since that perk is an absolute neccesity.... Dead by Daylight is a great game still and will always be one of my favorites personally, but it truly is making killers have to go in a corner with barely any builds to properly utilize consistentcy.
While survivors have soo many good builds and synergies that could help any situation significantly... Hopefully the developers change something because this could all get out of hand and be worse than last time.
-

Mad? Not at all. I just care about survivors, dont want you guys to face nurse every match.

@Phasmamain said:
They are called killers because they hunt and kill survivors. Thought that was obvious
Oh i completely get it, survivors camping and tunnelling gens is leading towards their escape, this is completely fine because it makes sense.
But for killer or at least the nonmobile ones they need to set the proxy and to speed up the hook states as fast as possible to compete with the survivors objective. But thats not going to happen soon with reassurance and the further nerfs they make to hook interactions.
I mean sure we could see more of the stronger killers as well but those will all get nerfed leading to what i just said in the first place. Killer is bad name now. It needs to be Catch and Release.
-
I would say take the ds as much as possible, it sends decent stats to the devs so that the perk can be nerfed. I mean it's been nerfed like 5-7 times lol, its been babying survivors since its inception let them have it until its gone lol. Not my fault survivors can't correlate their efficient play to what efficient killer play is.
-
Certain killers have certain playstyles, meaning that some of them play a lot better with the "tunneling" playstyles. I personally just think you play at the lower level which somewhat I envy you, but at high level against a team you are looking at one kill before the gens are all done along with a possible second kill at the end game. Sounds to me like you cannot correlate survivors doing their objective efficiently to a killer doing theirs efficiently. Which what I would say to that is, take a break or move on to a different game. Please stop whining at every turn a trial didn't go in your favor.
Dead by Daylight has no rules.
-
Its the only way to play these days, survivors still complain about it even though they can counter a killers retaliation after 3 gens popping at the start. If they removed ds this game would actually be balanced because of the long hook timers. But of course survivors cry to the daddy devs, killers become milk servers and survivors became the milk drinker. Devs provided the milk. Lol
-
They are just going to make bt base kit at this point. I know these devs, their will be no nerfs to dead hard or ds. This game will just favor survivor. Even if they did nerf dead hard theyll just add a million pallets back again. This game is going to always favor survivor no matter what. 4 kids pusing that one old man out of the wheel chair, its always going to exist in this game. Gg wp all.
-
If they would just remove ds from the game, i think flashlights, sabo, etc is just good teamwork and interaction. Might be frustrating to face of course but its better than to have the majority having perks that just magically help without teamwork.
-
Its the only strategy at high level while survivors have 15 other strategies against the killer. Maybe tell the devs to help killers out instead of keeping them so boxed in?
-
If it exists in the game its apart of the game plain and simple.
-
How about we remove ds? It robs me out of most of my kills.
-
Hey at least he doesnt have reload his power like 30 times in a trial and at least you get constant interaction. As well as being "buffed" and becoming obsolete months after (they hate clown). Legion seems to be in a good place, gets boon nerfs in their favor along with regression to healing. Just wow.
