  • Too long and too elitist for me to care to read. You don’t need to be a pro player to give your input on how the game should be balanced.

  • Imagine hitting BL 1 for more than a few seconds

So you've never benefited from bloodlust? All your chases are 30 seconds or less? I'm pretty sure it takes 15 seconds to gain bloodlust 1 so if you don't need bloodlust then I guess you must have short chases.

Just because the game gives you bloodlust at 15 seconds doesn’t mean you need bloodlust. It’s an outdated mechanic that was designed to counter infinites.

  • If the door is 99’d and you smack the survivor they can open it and leave if you don’t have STBFL

Cow tree, regardless of who you're playing ass, except maybe Nurse, Doctor and Slingy, is a pain in the arse whichever way you slice it. Whenever I see that tree, I mentally go: "Oh GOD. You better not be doing this ######### during the match..."

The only killers it’ll bother are true M1 killers and maybe an inexperienced huntress because they can’t zone properly and hit hatchets. Bloodlust is only a necessity for inexperienced killers. I rarely ever hit tier 1 bloodlust. A loop being good doesn’t mean BL is a necessity. It was introduced to counter infinites. We don’t have those anymore... Other than the one they introduced with a breakable wall to fix it.

  • Increasing gen times is not the solution. Gen times are fine. The issue is how killers start with zero pressure on the opposite side of the map.

Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Huntress, Myers, Bubba, Freddy, Clown...

You underestimate the strength of that stupid freakin' tree.

Clown, Freddy, and Trapper all have very obvious ways to deal with cow tree. Wraith is a character you shouldn’t even be committing to chases with. Everyone else can simply not follow them to cow tree. I’m sure a huntress main knows their way around cow tree.

  • I would be fine with this, but it would only counter stealth killers tunneling. High mobility killers can leave out of the proximity, which would have to be somewhat small, and then come right back. It wouldn’t change much and I don’t think it’s something the devs should put energy into.

i saw someone in the steam forum saying " i will now facecamp with bubba with a mori" i laughed pretty hard LOL

its just a experiment and people get mad about it ...

just let devs see how it is and if its too bad we get it back easy..

I think the game would be perfectly fine without bloodlust. It was added back when their maps were utter trash and they needed it to counter insanely safe pallets and infinites.

  • Surge def needs a buff to see real use when competing with ruin/undying and Pop. I think there’s a couple possible routes. They could give the gens it affects the same regression speed as ruin to justify the cooldown.

  • Keep crossplay on unless you want to go against only the most sweaty people. That goes for killer and survivor.

  • I haven’t seen anyone make a thread complaining about them removing it tho

  • @GoshJosh said:

Another archetypal BHVR move. 'We have a PTB, but let's just throw this into live with a couple days' notice!'

Certain killers cannot do anything at particular loops, such as the cow tree loop on Coldwind maps. As someone else said yesterday, proof BHVR does not play their own game.

What killer are you playing where you lose a game solely because of cow tree. Also, no one is gonna play the PTB to test out the epic lack of bloodlust lol

  • Bloodlust isn't a must have in the game anymore. Just my opinion doe

  • It's RNG and one of the reasons I've stopped running it. When it works it really ######### WORKS, but in my experience it's Undying getting bopped and then Ruin right after it. I've been playing Nurse and Deathslinger recently. One doesn't need the set up and the other can't capitalize on the meta Tinkerer, Undying, Ruin, Discordance build.

My only advice is to switch up your build to focus on countering the new meta. Off the top of my head I'd say Small Game, Detectives Hunch, Head on, Inner Strength? Maybe switch one of the four out for Soul Guard. Only issue is it's not going to have much use against killers not running the meta or not using any hex perks.

  • They aren't going to make a perk more meta than DS

  • The better question is why are you grouping up against a Bubba when you know he can down all the survivors in one attack

  • I just play 3 normal games personally

Then DS should deactivate if you touch a generator/hex totem, or progress the game in any way. You should not be able to progress your objective and also be invulnerable.

Yeah, I agree. I was addressing the obsession problem.

  • DS should just work like nemesis. No obsession until a DS is used.

  • I find playing survivor pretty boring tho. I can’t teleport through walls and smack anyone >:|

I'm more pragmatic. To me there is only what is within the rules and what is not. Do I use a Mori? Not usually, unless I'm hunting Smurfing Squads or doing a Rift. I consider them counterproductive to my BP and Emblem advancement. However, I don't question what builds and offerings the Survivors bring. You will not find one post from me ANYWHERE in 1700 or so I've done that complains about Survivor OR Killer choices which are legal. That is none of my business. Do you see my point?

I'm not going to grief Survivors or Killers for making legal choices. If people want to make threads to the DEV or about the DEV, that is their business. That is who arbitrates the rules. But blaming other Players for using what they paid BP for and is within the rules, is weak at best, rude at worst. It is also hypocritical. I don't think you and I disagree on much deep down. I've read enough of your posts to know you are a pretty good egg. You and I are just opposed here because I don't believe in giving Players grief or shame over doing what is within the rules.

Yeah, I don’t put all that much stock in the rules the Devs have laid out. Especially when it comes to obviously broken mechanics. Moris, certain addons, and items will all get a scoff out of me. I don’t even think a dc is 100% bad all the time. I assume it’s very enraging to watch the killer offering not flip over and then to get one shot by an iri head infantry belt huntress or to be new to the game and get ran for 5 gens as wraith with predator by a rank 4-1 because the matchmaking doesn’t work. I personally think it’s entirely reasonable to give people grief over what they they decide to use within the limits of the game. Especially when things are so obviously broken. It’s a bit like using cheat engine to twink a character in dark souls. It’s technically legal and you can’t get banned for it, but it’s a pretty garbage thing to do.

That's right. One behavior (disconnecting) is an offense that gets a ban. The others are endorsed as valid by the DEV. I don't have to excuse the Killer behavior, because it isn't an offense. It is just the game. If those things were against the rules, you and I would be on the same page. But they aren't, and thus we aren't.

You know there’s things that communities as a whole frown upon, right? Like in every multiplayer game. Not everything is “devs said this it’s true”. Especially not in this game because they say way off base things and make way off base changes. I’m sorry but BHVR being for or against certain play styles means a bunch of nothing to most people. I’m going to call killers who use moris to win lame and bad at the game. I’m going to call survivors who DC lame and bad at the game.

I'm using it entirely correctly. I pointed out that the PROBLEM of the 3v1 was created by the person who disconnected, and not the Killer. And yet, it was the Killer who got a thread created about him/her. I pointed out the silliness of that. You also, seem to want to focus on what YOU find objectionable about Killer behavior, even though they are entirely valid and legitimate. The things are apples and oranges. That's it. As long as you keep trying to come up with excuses for why people disconnect, you are moving further and further away from the problem.

The chain started when a person disconnected early. That was the problem, and yet the thread wasn't made about that. It became another Hobby Horse to complain about Killers. That is what I've been pointing out since the start, and you still want to make it about other things. Do we agree or not that the issue, the event that this thread is based on, started with a QUITTER?

No, you did whataboutism by making the post about DCs instead of what it’s actually about. Try Harding killers. This one specifically used an ebony mori and tunneled off hook after someone happened to dc. The DC isn’t the subject of the post. I also didn’t excuse disconnecting. If you can quote where I said it was ok to DC I’d love to see it.

I pointed out the hypocrisy of supporting a killer tunneling off first hook with a mori while vilifying DCing. I called the both bad. You seem to only think one is bad because BHVR told you it’s bad.

The thread isn’t specifically about the quitter. The thread is about a killer who still tried their hardest after a DC. The OP wasn’t even trying to vilify killers for trying hard. They were asking why they do even when survivors clearly aren’t trying to win.

You are the one going to the forums to cry about non existent infinites and walls. I don’t care.

And I’m not judging whether there’s more interesting perks or not. That really depends on the killer and the map. For example, in the Asylum, bamboozle guarantees you don’t constantly run around in circles like a headless chicken. Also, I wouldn’t carry Bamboozle as a Spirit, but I would as a Wraith or a Clown. It really depends on many things.

I literally didn’t cry. I just told you they reintroduced one. I think breakable walls are a gimmick that should have stayed on Dead Dog Saloon and only Dead Dog Saloon though. They’re either pointless to break or completely necessary.

I use bamboozle on Myers and that’s about it. Buttery smooth floating through windows.

  • @CustomerService said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1757964#Comment_1757964

Are you twelve? I have difficulties understanding you.

Anyway, as I said, infinites don’t exist.

If it bothers you they use a window more than once, bring Bamboozle. End of story.

RIP your reading comprehension skills. Against slower than average killers it’s an infinite until you break the wall as you can loop out of the infinite and then come back to it without the entity blocking it and without them getting any use out of bloodlust. Also, using bamboozle instead of one of the many other better perks to avoid breaking one wall is pretty silly.

Actually, no. I don't have to rethink anything. These things are not one and the same, or even related. One is legal, and the other is not. I'm on record, many times with my suggestion for how I think the Mori should be reworked. I would be surprised if we didn't agree on how. That, however, is moot. What you are doing is called "whataboutism" to try and justify an illegal behavior. I think you need to check yourself because you are only wrecking your own position.

The only thing in this thread that matters is someone disconnected early and left the game in a mess, i.e. a 3v1. What the Killer did afterwards is irrelevant entirely. The game was ruined by the person who left the others in the lurch. There is no justification for the behavior, period.

No, I’m not doing whataboutism. You misused that just like you misused false equivalence. This post was about a killer try harding with an ebony mori after someone DCed. If anything I’m more on topic than you were this entire thread. The actual only thing that matters in the thread is why killers try hard because that’s why the thread was made. Both actions are done selfishly and end up ruining others experiences. Your only reasoning being that daddy BHVR punishes one and not the other is pretty weak when they’re very out of touch with their own game and it’s players.

  • @CustomerService said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1757937#Comment_1757937

Infinites don’t exist anymore. The window gets blocked after 3 vaults, add bamboozle and bloodlust while you are at it and they might only get to vault it once.

Let’s be a bit knowledgeable about the game and the terms we use. It might be an annoying and time wasting spot, but if you say an infinite that doesn’t exist.

Bro why you running bamboozle. Also, you can literally leave the window loop somewhere else twice and run back to it so it doesn’t block the window and not all killers can build up bloodlust effectively. Let’s be at least a bit knowledgeable about the game and the terms we use please. Either why you just break the door and it ruins the loop lmao

  • Obviously the most fun and unique build is Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, Discordance. Jk Nurses, Discordance, Corrupt, and Thrilling on Ghostface is pretty fun. No gen protection outside of Corrupt so you have to sweat a bit against good teams. It’s fun to always know what survivors are doing to get those nice 99s and sneak attacks though.

  • They added a breakable wall on one of the new reworked maps that you have to break every time because it brought back an infinite lol

  • @Moundshroud said:

I play Solo que and I get out (and the team wins) against an Ebony Mori all the time. Sometimes you don't but it isn't an automatic win for the Killer.

Ok so let’s cover this real quick. They were bad at the game. Ebony moris on any competent killer is an automatic win button. The problem is a lot of killers who are actually good at the game don’t bring moris because they got good at the game for a reason. I’d just rethink your stance on moris if you’re going to have such a hard one against DCing when the two bring about the same exact problem.

Having to fight the Mori or someone who Tunnels doesn't ruin a game. There is still a game on tap. Having someone disconnect ruins/destroys games instantly. Equating them isn't appropriate on any level. It doesn't matter if your standards are the same as the DEV or not. A match can still be played and won against a Killer using a Mori (or tunnels). We see it every day. A game that goes from a 4v1 to a 3v1 in the first minute is near impossible for the Survivors. Please explain how YOU equate the two?

Tunneling someone off hook with an ebony mori ruins their game... Then the next person you do it to... Then the next... Then you kill the last on first hook. I’m sure they had a super fun time and didn’t feel at all oppressed by the op mechanic BHVR has failed to change. There’s no game with an ebony mori on a decent killer. You will get downed and hooked once. If you can down and hook someone before the first two gens pop with an ebony mori you’ve won the game. If you bring an ebony mori and somehow lose that’s pretty impressive and I applaud you. A survivor DCing and a killer bringing a Ivory Mori and immediately killing one of the survivors is the same thing btw. You don’t even need an ebony mori. You’re turning the game into a 1v3 right at the start of the game. It’s just the killer doing it instead of the survivor. The same scenario crafted in different ways by different sides. Please explain how the two aren’t comparable at all? I’d really like to hear the logic behind this.

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1757823#Comment_1757823

Actually, no. Disconnecting is an offense that results in a timed Ban. It is not considered acceptable by the DEV (or other Players) because it ruins a match. Tunneling and the Mori are part of the game, and have been stated valid by the Dev many times. They are not equitable. It is just this kind of false equivalence that irritates me.

When did I say my metric was what the devs consider ok and punishable? DCing to get out of a game you don’t want to be in is as much of a lame move as bringing an ebony mori and tunneling off hook because you’re bad at the game. Both ruin the experience for people. The Devs used to say Clown was powerful and people just weren’t good enough with him. The devs think OoO is perfectly ok because the people that use it die often. Don’t throw around “false equivalence” without knowing what it means because it isn’t a false equivalence. They’re perfectly comparable and your only response is that the devs punish one and not the other.

I get angry about it because its is garbage that builds up on the Forum, is bad for the community, and creates and "us versus them" illusion. I'm angry because the VERY first post sets out a scenario where a person DCs in the game and ruins the match. That person isn't given any condemnation or barely a second thought. Somehow, the thread isn't about people who rudely disconnect; it is about "Tryhard Killers," just another attack on Killers who are just doing their JOB.

And you (who seem to think I'm being confrontational) seem to be bending over backwards trying to find a way to justify this thread without ever addressing the point I keep bringing up. Who is the villain in the scenario, the Quitter or the Killer?

lol the ebony mori tunnel off hook hag is just as lame as the first person DCing. It’s just game why you haf to be mad

  • 9/10 times I don’t want to spend 15 minutes in a game farming with people because 1 or 2 people decided they didn’t want to play after waiting 5 minutes to even get into the match. I’ll just end the game as fast as possible so we all can move onto an actual one. I give hatch and that’s about it. It’s not being try hard or merciless. It’s about wanting to actually play the game.

Obviously tunneling into mori is lame and that hag was prolly trash.

  • I’m more curious about why you even have MYC on plague lol

  • I'll never leave red rank so no point in thinking back on the good old days

  • Wins and losses are determined by the individuals. A survivor could die and consider it a win because they pipped, got a bunch of bp, or helped with getting the other survivors out. Some killers define a win as a 3-4k or a merciless. Otzdarva and ScottJund consider one person escaping as a loss.

Other than an entity displeased the winner or loser isn’t outright told to us.

Decisive Strike activates each time you are unhooked.

While Decisive Strike is active and you are picked up by the killer, you immediately stun the killer for 5 seconds, gain a 7% Haste status effect for 20 seconds, and become the Obsession.

Decisive Strike is disabled if any of the following happen:

-You begin working on a generator or an exit gate

    -You begin cleansing a totem

-You heal or are healed by another survivor for one health state

    -You unhook another survivor

Increases your chances of being the Killer's Obsession.

The Killer can only be obsessed with one survivor at a time.

Post this on another DS thread. This is undeniably the best direction for DS

I'm pretty sure I meant Iron Grasp and defaulted to Iron Will because who tf uses Iron Grasp lmao

  • This would cause a lot of people to drop the game completely or just take long enough pauses to be able to use whatever they want whenever. They shouldn’t have to force diversity. They should make good enough perks to shake up the meta. There’s a problem when killers only have 5 perk choices for slowdown 2 of them outclass the others so badly.

  • I think the issue is that there's such a large gap between a even a 2-3 person swf and team of solos. All they need to do is buff solos with info SWFs would have, like basekit Kindred, and then buff killers accordingly.
