  • So are we also making NoED only proc when the gates open?

  • I find camping incredibly boring. You're free to play as you like, though. Just don't be surprised if survivors decide to play for the hatch with 3 gens left instead of doing gens.

  • "How dare they have equal representation in a video game! If I can't personally identify as a character, how am I supposed to play as them!? I mean I expect LGBT people to play as characters they can't identify with. BUT THAT'S TOTALLY DIFFERENT!"

  • I was up against 4 red rank survivors. I was using tampered timer and Rule Set 2. Two survivors exited before they got a second generator done. The last two had crowns though, so I decided I'd let them go. So I took them to a generator, got them to work on it. They seemed pretty thankful. Survivors usually are when you show them mercy. At least in my experience.

I also let pretty much anyone with No Mither go when the no mither challenge was active.

  • While this would be funny, if we get a Square-Enix character I really hope it's Aya Brea and Mitochondrian Eve.

  • It seems you get a bonus now even if you didn't offer the cake, though? Seems they still don't stack, though.

Also, seems like it says 4.0.2 on the update screen, but on the title page it says 4.0.1.

  • I got 4.0.1 but not 4.0.2. .1 did not fix the cakes.

  • I don't camp unless I only get one hook all game, and nobody wants to give me another hook. You want to save your friend? Let me hook you, while your friend saves them.

I won't tunnel unless you teabag me. I take that as survivoreese for "Please Tunnel me."

I'll farm if someone wants to, or if they're having a bad game. Or if someone has No Mither. Or if they got a crown (unless I'm going for a challenge. Sorry Yui!)

  • I finished yesterday.

Still have some archive challenges i haven't completed, but some of them I just won't do. Some just too hard for me. Like... 15 hatchets in one game? Sorry, I don't play Huntress much. I don't think I've hit 15 hatchets in my entire play time, let alone in one game.

  • I wonder how many people who are fine with Mori's because they're 'rare' were fine with the old version of BNP's that instantly finish a generator.

  • Why do killers get upset when survivors use keys? They're just doing their objective! Same with Gen Rush.

  • I P2'd Cheryl. She has 25 of those cakes.

  • Yeah, I'd like more female killers.

    @IceCreamPrincess said:

Well, of the 18/19 whatever many killers we got, we got "7" female ones. Nurse, huntress, hag, plague, pig, spirit and then "legion". I dont think they should add more female killers just for the sake of them being female, a good fun killer is good regardless of their gender

Plus, not to detract from the "issue", there is alot more female survivors than male ones

Didn't realize a perfectly even split was 'a lot more'

  • Nerf Object of Obsession to be exposed. Kind of like No Mither mixed with Object. You can SEE THE KILLER but the killer will down you in a single blow. Not that it'd help much in this case, though it's hard to say given this killer was PH and it might've been his first time trying the killer.

  • Iron Grasp? Use Agitation instead.

  • The toxicity doesn't originate from Dead by Daylight. It originates from outside the game. People will always make excuses for their bad behavior. But the truth is, the players who are toxic in DBD are most likely toxic in other multiplayer games too.

  • How to fix camping:

#1. Slow down gens whenever a killer is in chase.

#2. Speed up gens when a survivor is on the hook by an equal amount.

Killers get rewarded for being in chase. If they don't get into a chase, they're only hurting themselves.

  • As killer, I'll let people go as long as I've had an otherwise good game. Not sure if others do it. Now if I have a bad game, I will make sure you don't get that crown.

  • "In the Entity's realm there are only two flavors of ice cream. Horse Flesh. And Pain." - Creative Team Member

Not very creative. I feel like it'd be funnier if they included a normal flavor. Maybe we need some more creative people on the creative team 😋

  • I think it's pretty fair. Most people play maybe one survivor. A lot of people play multiple killers. I just wish the crown cosmetic (It looks like a halo?) were cooler. I wouldn't mind if they did change it so survivors just have to collect it, but I think the idea is to mostly encourage normal play instead of having people go into a match, grab a crown, then suicide on first hook.

  • Only gives the person using it the multiplier. Haven't tried it, but had a game with 3 offered by others as a survivor, and got 0 extra bloodpoints.

I did that challenge first try XD, might just be me being a huntress main though.

*sad oink noises that there'll never be a Pig Rift Challenge*

  • I prefer the "Kick 50 generators/break pallets" to the "Hit 15 hatchets in ONE MATCH" tbh.

50 gens, you can get over the course of normal play. It's unlikely you won't make some progress in each match.

  • I'd say don't tunnel if you see the survivor who unhooked. Personally, I'm always in another chase by the time survivors unhook. I don't really go back to the hook unless I don't find another survivor in the meantime.

  • I can agree with this. You unhook someone, in the killer's terror radius or not, DS deactivates.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/164117/genrushing-does-it-exist

When survivors split up and work seperate gens ignoring almost everything else, thats gen rushing and there isnt much a killer can do about it. Its the same as tunnel vision, ive seen people do gens with activated rbts on their heads, i saw a team let someone go into struggle state to finish the 3 gens they were doing. If youre killer and not playing a perfect game, you lose. Or at least youre going to have to get very dirty. So yeah, gen rush is a thing. People skipping totems, chests, unhooks and everything in between to get gens done.

That said a lot of solo que games they rush the first 3 then fall apart and get stuck at 2 so you cant solo gen rush. Its a team effort. Solo ques can gen rush but its a lot harder

I've seen someone do a gen with an activated RBT on their head. They then tried to go through the exit gate. I got a thorough chuckle out of it.

  • Probably best they don't have it for that reason. Though sometimes I'd like to send a "GG" to players, let them know there's no hard feelings. Though I'd really like to know what this Dwight was thinking when I showed him the hatch, went to die so the game could end, and he didn't stay at the hatch.

  • You only really need to get everyone to 40. I played a lot of games, and now everyone is level 40. Pig and Meg both have every perk. Granted, on Switch we have two less characters to level. Though I do think the grind should be lessened significantly. Reduce BP cost by 1000 for each thing.

  • All the second chance perks are fine, even though I usually don't use them.

  • If all the gens in an area are finished, I'll cleanse. If Plague wants to travel to an area without gens to get a temporary power, then more power to her.

  • @emptyCups said:

First hook mori is the way to go, get the person out asap to reduce gen pressure

Keys are the real way to go. Let them get the person out quick so you can escape with your friends.

  • I'm only Toxic to people who are toxic first. I assume people play the way they want to be treated.

  • Second chance perks are necessary for the health of the game. That includes NoED. There are things that can and should be done to make killer's early game more bearable--and devs have said they are working on it. Finding your first survivor is the real issue of the game. That can be done very quickly, or take way too long. Corrupt Intervention helps -- as long as the survivors don't just wait it out.

    @KingFrost "Even Triple A games aren't bug-free"

how long does the bug stays there tho? i mean a finished game of course, not a game like anthem, i mean a real game, like overwatch or COD MW and God of War, when there's bugs, how long to they stay there? and how many do they add after fixing bugs?

New bugs happen all the time with patches in Triple A games. RDR2 definitely comes to mind. Their latest patch created a whole new set of issues.

  • The Devs are doing a good job. DBD is more balanced than it's ever been as far as I can tell. Given that they add new killers all the time, and each killer has different abilities, balancing the game is far more complex than you'd expect. And given how often they update the game -- much of it, free updates I might add, with characters who can often be bought with in-game currency--you expect bugs to occur. Even Triple A games aren't bug-free. They also take a lot of user feedback into consideration, too. A lot of people think they know what game balance is, but they don't take both sides into consideration when they do.

  • I'd say Lilith. I mean Lucifer would obviously be bigger and probably a better choice, but if they want to avoid the religious overtones of Lucifer. Lilith would also be a female killer, which we desperately need.

    Supernatural Chapter

    Killer: Lilith

    Survivors: Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester

  • DS is an anti-momentum perk. You had a lot of momentum. Not like it cost you the game. You're just complaining because the survivors happened to have a chance at making a comeback. 100% fair.

  • This is why you don't chase survivors by following them, you chase them toward where either you want them to go or where you think they're headed.

  • Yes, I dreamed that I was the killer and my friend was a survivor. But instead of being in the game, we played Dead By Daylight real life and I hooked her, and she died in real life and I was sad that I killed her.

  • Trapper, Myers, Hag. Pretty sure between Trapper and Hag the other killers won't be able to get to me, and Myers will finish the rest of them off no problem once he hits tier 3. Especially since only Ghostface can crouch. Well I guess Pig can too, but the regular traps should handle them.

  • I see him quite a bit still. I think it's just luck of the draw, sometimes. There are people who haven't bought the DLC who want to still play killer or get their bloodpoints. Maybe even to get perks on PH so they aren't stuck with perks that suck.

  • I find both sides equally enjoyable. Both can be a pain at times, but I like both a lot. That's probably why I just match up with whichever wait time is shorter.

  • Are we getting rid of NoED too while we're at it, because it punishes survivors for doing their job?

You aren't being punished for 'doing your job'. Survivors use the perk to help them with theirs.

  • I don't have many perks on him yet.

Right now I'm using: Nurse's, Surge, BBQ+Chili, and Save the Best for Last. Nurse's works really well.

  • @Zeidoktor said:

I wonder why Deathslinger usage is so low. Nurse I get, and I think the other Killers besides Pyramid Head, who I assume is low because he's a day old at the moment, are regarded as weak in general over other Killers, but Deathslinger I don't quite get.

Yeah, I've played maybe 13 games since Pyramid Head was released. As for Deathslinger, I think it'd be higher if I played much after DS was released. But I quit playing for a bit when he was released. It's also why Zarina's numbers are a bit low while Cheryl's are higher.

  • It's probably worth noting that I only recently became a Red Rank survivor, so some of these stats may be skewed by that. AVG Killer Rank was 9, AVG Survivor Rank was 7. (I played a lot more killer than survivor, which I didn't keep stats on because that's more my skill as killer than the average killer experience)

If this is the top in switch then you should be able to increase your escape stats pretty easily. Run small game and break totems (based on your other stats it doesnt seem that effective, still though might as well).

Bring a medkit and a healing perk like well make it or autodidact.

Use lockers when people go down more often.

I wish these were the meta on xbox.

I actually break totems pretty regularly. Though I prefer Detective's Hunch. I might still miss one sometimes, but I'm much more likely to get them all. I only died to NoED 4 times in 200 games. Comparably, I've been Mori'd (not counting Rancor or Final Judgement) 6 times. It's pretty dependent on my teammates. A lot of survivors I see don't wait for the killer to leave to go for the unhook, which puts us in a really bad position. I just want to scream at my teammates sometimes. "Please don't unhook me while LEATHERFACE is chasing you, Mmkay? I don't have DS!"

Wanted to ask a question sorta unrelated and hope it doesn't sound mean. Do you use a Pro controller on Switch? Because I seriously can't imagine playing DBD with a Joycon. I don't know too many people that play on Switch and I was really curious what it was like.

I play with the Joycons connected to the Grip. It's not too bad. It's not too different from a PS4/XBOX One Controller.

    @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

Im looking closer at these numbers and killers on switch suck. I might go get me a switch, survivots over there arent prepared for this

Killers are a pretty mixed bag on Switch. You'd probably have an easier time on Switch. Most survivors and killers have limited experience. The game's only been out for like 8 months now. You face the same people quite a bit though. I've literally had a match against a killer, then switched to killer, and the killer who killed me in the last game was a survivor going against me.

    @OtakuBurrito said:

    How many hackers?

As far as I'm aware: 3. 3 people hacked to play cross-play. One disconnected mid-way through the match (after which Legion farmed with us. Nice killer, and every time I've faced them they weren't remotely toxic) and the other two bullied a poor Clown who only got one hook all game. They were clearly SWF, cause any time I got downed, they coordinated a crazy flashlight save.

  • I think Pyramid Head is pretty strong, but I imagine people want to earn those bloodpoints because he's probably fairly perk dependent. And those perks aren't things like "Pop Goes The Weasel". Also PH doesn't get a stack for BBQ with his cages.

Personally, I find Nurses really good on him. Not sure what else I'll use, but I've got to unlock more perks first. Also, the new tome came out today, and I imagine people want those bloodpoints. He's got a decent tracking ability build in to him. It's not Doctor-Tier, but used right it can find survivors unaware.

  • DS should absolutely work in a locker. It's the ONLY defense against a Tunnel-Mori.

  • Pretty sure it does. I got points for hooking all survivors, but I never hooked one, just used the cage on them. Only got Silver because I only hooked them once, and only hooked like one person 3 times. But I digress.
