I gave another chance after the blog post to try the new changes, quit the same day, is sad to know that i have all the killers and can't play them and survivor is too boring for me to play more than 2 games a day, but yeah same experience as before, sweaty killers and useless randoms
-
I don't dc against him but i know people that do it and when i ask why the answer is "is disgusting and boring to face"
-
Mmr broken? Nothing new
-
Another post "us vs them" smh
Ruin was too powerful for not experienced players because they couldn't hit great skillchecks easily.
Why is so hard to understand?
-
Sbmm bad? Nothing new

That sounds more like a balance issue, not a matchmaking issue? Of course you're going to see the meta perks more often, that's... what makes them the meta perks.
Also, you may know that grades aren't used for matchmaking, but new players don't. It just cuts down on unnecessary confusion.
The game will never be balanced, and is why SBMM shouldn't be in this game.
Too many killers perks maps to balance, camping and also tunneling.
Stop defending sbmm when is doing nothing but destroying the game.
-
He's fine but i feel the same way against nurse
-
They tweaked some number to make it more "fair" to mid MMR casual players, but let's be honest, there's nothing fair in what they did and understood because is still based on kills/escapes and the experience will be hell no matter what
-
I don't enjoy DBD with SBMM so i decided to move to other games, and the few times that i play is basement bubba because there's no other option for how high my MMR is and as survivor i just hope for hatch when the game didn't even start cuz will be a blight/nurse with the strongest sh1t and my teammates will throw the game
-
Would be amazing if she get reworked but knowing bhvr it will take years
-
They worked hard for it and now can't get rid of it, today's blogpost was very delusional, they don't want to understand what's the real problem (kills escapes based).
There's no hope anymore, let them lose players and let the game die

By setting it just before the grade reset, we gave people as much time as possible to separate. The people who play the most would end up further away from the people who play the least. This is important because under the grade system, grades reset all the way back to 20 whereas ranks would only reset one colour tier. Setting it two weeks into a reset would give people a lot less time to spread out and more than likely end up with the vast majority of players within the silver-gold range.
We could debate whether or not that's the worse time all day, but ultimately that's impossible to say. Under the old rank system rules, that would probably be true, given that players weren't reset that far back and will have a much easier time climbing a few ranks. However, since everyone's starting at 20, that's a much different story. The average person does not reach iridescent ranks each month.
In any case, even with different timing, this still would not be a conclusive test. You cannot switch it on for 1-2 days and get definitive results. A system like that takes longer for people to settle where they're supposed to be.
Then why don't we test it for one month? Old grade based MMR was the best
-
11-12 was the best, sadly they don't care
-
Nothing will change basically as long as it stays in the game
-
The game is slowly dying and till they fix the many issue it won't stop
-
SBMM
Stale meta
Camping tunneling
Hackers
-
Maybe for Xmas considering how lazy they are
-
Last two test were the best ye
-
If you think her basekit is fine then the only solution is to remove her add-ons from the game, add-onsless might make her a bit more balanced but even then she will keep the crown of the strongest killer
-
You just don't like hockey, like the majority of the community
-
The people that defend it are few and they clearly enjoy having a challenge every single game, good for them, but majority of the community wants to have chill games, and this is why people quit and throw sh1t at mmr.
-
Neutral, you don't gain/lose MMR
-
But seriously i hope they remove it soon
-
Play basement bubba, no matter what your mmr is, you won't have to deal with their second chances at all
-
They better remove it or those numbers will go down nostop

I stopped reading when you said you never go against solo players, and just gonna assume everything you stated afterwards is also just lies after lies.
Up to you what to think and believe, I'll keep doing what i do because for me is the only way to have fun as killer nowdays

Staying still is not playing the game.
And yes I do blame you. Because the only people who get penalized by campers are solo players, not SWF, and you do make that decision yourself.
In my games none is playing "solo"
Is 99% of the times swfs and honestly I'm fine with one kill playing this way than playing the game getting frustrated by 4 ds dh ub and boons. I'll get a kill anyway later on because gens are done and I've no other option than facecamp.
Even tho for you I'm not playing the game, I'm good at doing it, survivors do not care about my fun anyway

Why launch the game if you're not even playing it? Genuine question
I'm playing at the beginning to catch up the survivor, then is up to them to throw the game or genrush and leave.
I'm just burned out from this stale meta of second chances that i feel the need to do it.
You shouldn't blame me but the devs instead for having the same meta for years and the same boring playstyle you can possibly have
-
I've started playing bubba and facecamp recently, no more stress, just a lot of salt at endgame but who cares, you got downed one time and you are dead, not dealing with second chances and comms anymore
-
She was created in 2016 and nowdays doesn't make any sense, rework her power to make her more in line with other killers and don't allow her to break game mechanics
-

Same for me, 4 dead hards every game, coldwind farm offerings, insane loopers and when you finally mindgame them, boom, press E to escape.
You have my respect for still playing killer

Or...we could...not?
The SBMM system is a million times better than ranks. I started under ranks, and it was miserable as a newbie.
If the SBMM system is making things sweaty at high MMR, then it's working. Because if high MMR isn't sweaty, someone new is getting stomped.
People have always been salty in postgame.
Yes, high MMR in most games tends to have an ossified meta. That's the nature of high MMR play. People optimize.
Now, I'm not saying the system is perfect. But from where I'm standing, it's certainly better. And we're going to see some MMR tweaks soon, which hopefully improves it futher.
The system isn't designed to give you easy games, it's designed to pair you up against someone with roughly the same level of skill. Which means that you'll need to fight for the win.
New players get matched against experience killers and viceversa sbmm or not so this excuse doesn't make any sense, some people like you wants a challenge every game and i get it but majority of the playerbase doesn't want it and as result is leaving the game
-

I play chill on my m1 killers, so I actually get relatively consistent chill survivors.
On my Leatherface, I do not care how sweaty they are. He is designed to handle it quite well and Rancor is absolutely broken. I digress, face camping is pretty relaxing regardless, so those high mmr games rarely feel too intense outside of getting the initial down as those survivors are EXTREMELY good at looping and force you to do the most uncomfortable chainsaw tricks to catch them.
Ngl I'm considering the fact to play bubba with basement build and camp the basement, and once they are hooked they are dead, no more second chances to deal with
-
Those builds and map offerings (probably in every single game).. i wanna vomit, that's the reason why I don't play killer anymore
-
They fixed her cuz was broken, hope the next on the list is nurse now
-
I've read in an article that the creation of artist dlc took 217 days of work and 100 devs working on it.
And nowdays almost none plays her
They should stop from releasing content for a bit and try to balance a bit the game.
-
Last days of MMR test i have played for hours, today i did one killer game, figured out basic Sbmm was back and closed the game. Got a swf team of 6000h, and the lowest had 2000h, I'm back to my break i guess.

I just want to start by saying that none of these are bad ideas. On paper, they all make sense. Actually incorporating them into a matchmaking system is where things start to get tricky.
For starters, let's look at just perks. Someone has to subjectively pick which perks are meta, we cannot base it solely on how often they're used. A perk like BBQ & Chili is incredibly popular, but I think we can all agree that it's not because slapping it on will carry you to victory. Applying a penalty to it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. So already, you need to selectively apply penalties to perks and also determine how much of a penalty each one should carry. This is already highly subjective and I strongly doubt that you could ever find a value for each one that everyone considers fair. There are bound to be loads of disagreements over penalties (e.g. This perk has too much of a penalty. It's not even that good. Now I get super tough matches just for using it.)
This also does not factor in the fact that not all perks are equal. Some perks are stronger when combined with other perks/add-ons. Take Dead Man's Switch, for example. On its own, it's okay. Put in on a Killer like The Artist that can easily force people off of generators and it becomes much stronger. How do you apply a single value to it that doesn't discourage using it on other Killers while also fairly penalizing it on ones that can make full use of it?
All that aside, these penalties/bonuses are redundant when it comes to how a matchmaking system actually works. By design, using strong things inherently increases your chances of winning. When you win, your rating goes up and you'll end up against tougher opponents. Put simply, the matchmaker does not care how you got there. It doesn't care if you're a perkless legend, it doesn't care if you run meta every match with ultra rare add-ons. What it cares about is your chances of winning, and its' only goal it to pair you with people where your strategy (whatever that may be) works about half of the time. When it stops working more than half the time, you plateau and stop climbing. This doesn't mean that you're a great player because you have the best stuff, it just means that the matchmaker has successfully put you in a place where you're no longer pummeling new players.
Adding another layer of prediction on top of that would only make this worse, and would only be of benefit in a scenario where you can see your rating (and it actually mattered). Say you're a 1,500 player, but you're running really good stuff so the game treats you as a 1,700 player. If you lose your match, you only get shoved further down into matches with less experienced players who are not prepared to deal with the meta you're running. In a scenario where you can see your rating and it means something, sure, this matters. This stops someone from artificially boosting their rating by running all the best stuff. This is not, however, the case. Your rating means nothing beyond placing you in matches where you've got an equal chance of winning and losing, and it already does that without predictive penalties & bonuses.
Is sad to see that you guys are so stubborn in keeping this Sbmm when the community doesn't want it at all, last two test of MMR were based on grades imo and they felt so good.

Do you play survivor or killer, and how many hours do you have - if you don't mind me asking.
Both, i had decent team mates and as killer i didn't have to sweat or tunnel camp to get one kill, was more casual and i enjoyed it a lot
-
Last two were the bests

We have not made any changes to the original MMR. The tests ended and the data has to be analysed to see if any further tests are required, changes made etc. The current MMR is exactly the same as it was before the tests started and when it was switched off during the tests, nothing has changed.
I have one question, the matchmaking we have now was tracking our kills/escapes during these tests or they didn't count towards it?
-
Sadly the only way to play together is custom games, Sbmm was supposed to match against opponents of the same level but sadly is not working and won't happen.
Not surprised that the game is losing players nostop, get rid of it bhvr, you are still in time.
-
Every killer that's not nurse/blight, i just want some variety and i can't remember the last time i faced a different killer from these two.
Not that i play much a day but still, here's my experience, open DBD, insane queue time, get into a game after 5m, i hear a blink, roll eyes, my team suicide at hook and back to queue to get another one of those.
So i end up playing something else
I'd be happy even to face a bubba, look how desperate i am
-
Look at the state of DBD, we CANT keep it just because some people, I'd say around 10% of the community likes it.
Is killing the enjoyment of the game and needs improvements asap.
You might enjoy it because u don't like to play in a "dirty way" but doesn't mean everyone else likes to play like you do
-
That's nothing but funny to me. Keep going bhvr, humiliate yourself even more, you can do it
-
Also lately people (me included) came back to try the new MMR tests, they werent worth my time and i had an awful experience in all of them and closed the game right after a single killer game, but still, it says a lot of the game current state
-
Cause their ego is too strong to admit it doesn't fit a casual game like DBD

You say that a nurse running good add-ons meta perks and is solid with her wants easy 4k's yet you suicide against her.
Have you considered that maybe the games balance pushes killers towards that?
You say that she isn't DBD and has no counterplay! Have you tried changing your play style like your suppose to in a pvp game?
Not trying to bust your chops, but your comment is literally justifying giving up because "You" lack skill
Wanted to quote u too but forgot.

Please do share with me how you consistently win against a good Nurse running all the strongest perks in the game! The one killer that ignores everything that survivors have to defend themselves! I'd like to hear about that one playstyle that completely counters her and her power, cause my 'lack of skill' sure can't figure it out. :)
Theres no way to counter her if she's good, he's just defending her, maybe the only killer he plays and is scared of a potential nerf.
Nurse is a mistake released in 2016 when the game wasn't serious yet, in the current meta she makes literally no sense and needs to be reworked.
I don't blame players that DC against them, i blame the devs to have left her in this broken state for years, she was used to be more broken yeah, but with the good add-ons (recharge and omegablink) is impossible to stand a chance, and let's be honest, she's only played with those add-ons.
