Survivors complain more than killers ever will. You get stomped in solo because either you are bad or your teammates are bad. It's an MMR issue, not a killers OP issue (unless it's Nurse).

At least when the killers complain, they usually have better arguments.

I'm just coming in here to respond to this.

Personally, I find that killers complain way more than survivors do. And I also personally find that survivors complaints seem way more justified than killers do. From a lot of the stuff I've seen, it seems like killers want to really turn their brains off and let the game play itself for them. Meanwhile survivors actually want a more balanced and fair match. Killers just want to gut every little thing survivors have.

Note: I will not waste my time responding. I barely check this forum as it is.

  • Tbh killers will cry and complain about every tiny little thing survivors have going for them, until survivors literally have nothing viable anymore.

  • Honestly ... If a survivor dcs, then just turn off penalties for everyone else

AND!! If everyone else (remaining survivors + killer) decides to just dc afterward, they should be given priority in the queue.

  • people say too many times that killer is stressful

to me personally, survivor is stressful, where killer feels comparatively relaxing

  • I too feel anxiety when I want to play, but for survivor :0 Yes, survivor is stressful to me.

  • Honestly, so does tunneling. It's also the exact basic definition of "unsportsmanlike".

  • This further proves my point of: Dedicated Servers are killer-sided, and more-so if the killer has a bad connection. They're literally given an unfair advantage with a bad connection.

  • Honestly yes it does. And most will harass you for having a different opinion and consider you "baiting" even if you're being completely serious. Honestly this entire forum and it's policies should be completely and totally revamped so feedback is taken more seriously, from BOTH sides. I really feel like there's too much entitlement and ESPECIALLY a lot of hypocrisy on this forum.

I've been here before, about 2 years ago. It was very much in the same state. At that point I had requested my account (at the time) be completely removed because I wanted no part of conversation here. And even now, I'm considering that option yet again.

Feedback here feels so pointless. Actual BHVR "Player Feedback Surveys" feel like a more LEGITIMATE place for real feedback without being harassed for it.

All you have to do is look at the killrates. It's delusional to say the game is favoring survivors when killers win a majority of the time. And solos lose even more than that.

    It will never stop.

I never wanted to believe that these forums are a cesspool for crying killer mains b/c I thought people were better than that, but I think I was wrong.

Catered? There's been nothing but survivor nerfs for as long as I can remember.

And you are just going to ignore 5 years of Survivor-Nerfs? And still think the Devs are catering to Survivors?

Survivors got nerfed A LOT over the years (and rightfully). But if the Devs would cater to them, they would not nerf certain things. In fact, CoH is the only newly introduced Survivor-Perk which was worth running after the release of David. Which was also years ago.

(Sure, they buffed things like Boil Over, but this did not make the Perk strong, just unhealthy...)

And yeah, I think Nerfs to all those Killers were justified. Deathslinger had insane zoning and at certain distances no real counterplay, because it is physically impossible to dodge the Shots in such a short amount of time. Wraith basically had 3 Add On-Slots due to build-in Windstorm, so nerfing the purple All-Seeing was justified (and it did not even change that much...). I disagree on the Speed-Nerf after uncloaking tho, however, it is not like Wraith is unplayable since then.

Spirit had no counterplay. Like, 0. She now got counterplay and still is an S-Tier Killer. It is just not possible to win chases instantly by using her power, which scared a lot of Killer players away from her.

Freddy was so braindead easy that my cat would be able to 4K with him on a reliable basis. His rework only make him an unfun experience, because he was really boring for both sides after the Rework, but just braindead to play. After removing the braindead Parts, the boring parts stayed. He is not weak by any means, but his kit is just flawed.

And Clown... Well, Pinky Finger deserved the Nerf because it was super-easy to get direct Bottle Hits after Clown did not slow down after throwing anymore. However, it did not change much, because the Add On is still a problem and Clown clearly deserved some more Love, because his most recent Buff did not really lift him up. But hey, we get Blight-Buffs basically every Midchapter (by those Devs who cater to Survivors!).

But I know, the Forum Killer Mains will now jump at me. Because how dare I say that Killers dont have it that bad.

    @Aven_Fallen said:

Just love it that they just dropped another Dev-Notes full of Killer-Buffs and STILL people say that the Devs cater to Survivors.

    Yikes³

  • @Voodoo_Thirsty said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2874582#Comment_2874582

Because if there was a 0 percent chance of getting a 4k, even when the killer has made no mistakes and the survivors made a bunch, that's not balanced.

That's so farfetched that it's not worth even discussing.

No killer has 0 percent chance of getting 4K. That's just pure exaggeration.

Since killers shouldn't be getting 4ks for playing well, then you're saying they should get 3ks for playing well. That's moving the goal post of a "fair result" for killers. Why not move it to a 2k? Oh wait, people already ask for the game to be balanced around that. Why not a 1k? Why not a 0k? That's what "playing for fun" already gets killers.

A whole bunch of whatabouitsms with no actual substance.

Look, I get that you think killers deserve to get a 4K if they're good. But that goes both ways. If the survivor is better than you, then they have a higher chance of escaping. If all 4 players beat you at everything, then you're just worse than them, period. Same goes to survivors. If no one managed to escape, they didn't play as a team and the killer was better than them. It takes time to be a good survivor as it takes to be a good killer and vice versa.

Killers are second class players. They don't deserve anything. Just entertain the survivors and be happy with the result.

Another semantics to add on to the killers' pity party agenda.

It makes you pretty pathetic to claim a bunch of whataboutisms, claim that what killers find "fun" should dictate a game's state of balance and that killers are "second class players" without actually providing any evidence to back those claims.

You guys are NOT second class players. the devs DO listen to ya'll (hence why the most recent updates are ALL buffs to killers) and yet you STILL complain.

God, this is why we can't take killers seriously anymore. The people behind them are such whiners that they make all killers not even threatening.

Grow up and face reality will you?

    Agreed so much.

  • I think they gone just a little bit too far with Ghostface.

  • I really feel like these changes are just a little bit too much ... Almost to the point of literal handholding.

  • This is what I do: Run bond, put Gideon offering. Follow the teammate being chased, but on the other floor.

  • Personally, I think Twins is a huge mistake for this game.

  • Not really anything worth running aside from map offerings. BP offerings are #########, and I generally only want to benefit myself, not the other side.

"And if the killer does let them wiggle out to "find me", I will start recording the match the moment they get wiggled and report both."

    Report them for what exactly?

Working with the killer. It's in the game's rules and stated that it is reportable and bannable offense.

  • No.

First of all, using a tournament is the WORST EXAMPLE, because they're literally the best of the best survivors.

Of course, if all 4 survivors are EXTREMELY top tier, then it's survivor sided. BUT THAT'S NOT EVERY SINGLE GAME.

Second, people should play more survivor. And specifically, I'm talking about solo or duo.

I absolutely hate it when killers talk about survivor being easy (it's stressful to me) and act like they play survivor.

Like, do you really play survivor? If yes: At least 3 or 4+ hours per-day? With an extremely competent swf? Solo? Playstyle? Blendette?

The saying really goes both ways. "Do you play [opposite side]?!"

Personally, I don't really think this game is survivor sided. If anything, it's becoming more killer sided.

This is why I had quit well over a year ago. Boons brought me back though. Yes, I do main survivor, cry about it.

This game is only survivor sided if all 4 survivors are top-tier competitive level survivors.

  • Walk around, hop between lockers, be quiet and cautious. Definitely not going anywhere near the slug.

And if the killer does let them wiggle out to "find me", I will start recording the match the moment they get wiggled and report both.

Why even slug for the 4K? Do you really want higher MMR / more stressful games?

This is obviously a killer main. Honestly, I've been playing since the game first game out. A friend bought it for me. Ive seen every difference in this game. The game has gotten way worse now. I can still escape IF I don't get Facecamped or Slugged the entire match which is consistently happening. If you wanna compare your gameplay to mine, go play to iridescent rank survivor and come back to this post. Camping the hook or slugging is dumb. I wouldn't care so much if I got downed again after getting off the hook if the killer hooked the next person they downed instead of camping our downed bodies like we are going to lead them to any other survivor and downing everyone while they watch us bleed out. It DOES take the game hostage. (Trapping us in corners isnt the only way... shocker right?) It makes the game drag out rather than ending the game. Keys have no use to them btw and a purple toolbox with pink items should be able to do more than 30% of 1 gen. These items are completely useless now. And there are plenty of killers who have gotten buffs. Wraith being only 1 which is way too fast. Survivor stuff has gotten nerfed. Look at DS. That perk alone removes so much that the survivor needs to help with. At least let them do it once per hook or let them help with gens or hex totems (not dull). Its supposed to help counteract tunnels.

Most of these comments are very obviously killer mains. Trash talking is sad btw. Im not bad at Dead by Daylight. Trying to say stuff like that makes you a very sad player. Any person who plays killer typically then randomly jumps into 1 survivor match to try to "prove me wrong" is going to get an easy match. Oh and Solo Queue is still SWF guys. 🙄 and just because we have our friends doesn't mean they won't get slugged or camped too. Its player based not communication based on that part.

Quite honestly, end game ended any real use for keys. Cause no one brings them unless its for aura which id prefer to use a map for. If key had some use, hide one in a chest somewhere on the map instead of adding it to the bloodweb. Then its either hurry find the key, open the gate, or find the hatch before the killer does. And end game would be active if it was closed.

Just because your game experience is "flawless" which i highly doubt. Doesn't mean anyone else's is too. For example: Game still has hackers in it. Lag switches. Flying bubbas. Flying survivors. Its sad if someone has to cheat just to get a win. I think we can all agree on that part.

i have to agree, for the most part.

Oh here is where all the "killer mains" went to defend their terrible position and make blatantly false claims as if they are facts, the copium here is astounding, iv only ever seen such entitled whining from spoilt toddlers, I feel sorry for your parents

Even I personally see killers complain way more than I do survivors.

And when both sides complain, I feel as if survivors complaints are more justified.

  • Honestly the netcode for this game is extremely bad. Considering the game was originally built for P2P.

Also, it's kind of glaringly obvious the servers are killer sided. You can have the best Internet in the world (like I do, with a dedicated 1Gbps fiber optic line) and it doesn't matter what-so-ever. If the killer has bad Internet, they are very often given an extremely unfair advantage.

Also DC penalties are a bit too harsh, first DC should be a "slap on the wrist" in my very honest opinion. Since it's usually not your own fault.

  • You're gonna lose A LOT of players if you were to remove the option to play with friends.

Majority of survivors play the game almost exclusively with friends only, as solo is just simply not fun.

  • I just run Head On & DS for stuns. You can kind of force a stun with both perks.

I definitely agree though, especially since too many killers hard respect pallets.

It's either get a pallet respecting killer or get the bad luck to get a huntress during a pallet stun challenge.

And what about Myers? Take a moment to realize how it hard counters killers like ghost face and Myers who literally have to look directly at their victims and stalk them in order to get any usage from their power. Now add in the fact that this doesn't just hurt them, but all killers 4 meters before survivors even hear their terror radius, by giving survivors an excessive early warning that the killer is headed their way, while also giving them bonuses to their action speeds. I believe reducing the range to 20-24 meters from 36 is at best a simple compromise in all honesty, but obviously you don't, which says more about your bias towards it's currently broken nature, as well as your insistence keep it as is. Your only complaint is that GF has a bad reveal mechanic, and thus "This shouldn't get balanced until GF's Reveal mechanic is"... grow up. Admittedly GF's reveal mechanic SHOULD be better, and I've made previous posts about changing it from a 2d model to a 3d "Flashlight emanating from survivors heads" one to better balance/fix this, but the devs are pretty lazy, so that suggestion is likely to never be implemented, but even if it was, I doubt you would still think that my suggested balance change to Spine Chill would be justified, and that makes me a "sad panda" (southpark reference).

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2857559#Comment_2857559

You called me "Dumb" while obviously not even reading my post. So I asked that you stop being "Dumb" first before engaging in the conversation. It was a simple jab at you for being ignorant, with the intention of getting a more profound response, which sadly, hasn't happened yet, but we'll get there eventually, I believe in you!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2857542#Comment_2857542

Hearing a Terror Radius is one thing, knowing that the killer is looking in your direction while you hear it is another piece of information entirely, and I'm certain you know that, but are purposely feigning ignorance! That so called "work around" that's been suggested? I've already explained why that BS time and time again both in the original post and in follow up comments, so please read those since I'm so VERY tired of repeating myself. I do like the idea of it being defeated by Oblivious, since it's meant to defeat Undetectable, and having it defeat both is overkill tbh, but that alone is not enough in all honesty. Considering it's overall POWER regarding information and the advantages it provides to survivors, I feel that a simple, little, reduction in it's radius is a small ask on my part.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2857703#Comment_2857703

Out of all the games I've played for the past 2 weeks (ever since Onryo/Sadako was released) There has only been maybe 5 games wherein I didn't encounter Spine Chill. Which is very sad honestly since equipping it for the sole purpose of countering Onryo is stupid as hell, because she emanates a "Lullaby" radius while de-manifested (in stealth), meaning that she's LITTERALLY the noisiest "stealth" killer in the damn game! In all honesty, this design decision means that she can't even be considered a Stealth killer IMO, so it's not even necessary. Regardless, Spine Chill has seen a MASSIVE increase in usage amongst survivors, and whether or not Onryo is to blame for this, Survivors have noticed how OP it is against all killers, and are making it a permanent addition to their builds. It's basically kryptonite to Myers and Ghost Face, as well as a major pain for any killer, stealth or not. All I'm asking for is a simple balance change by reducing its radius of effect from the grotesquely large 36 meters to 20 at minimum or 24 at max. Does that really scream to you that it would make it useless?

As for BBQ and Chili... that's actually already a very balanced perk. The aura reveal doesn't affect anyone within 40 meters of the hook or in a locker, and other than that, it just provides the killer with bonus BP for getting 4 hooks, so what the hell do you want? You want it's aura reading range doubled or removed perhaps? or maybe you want it to require 8 hooks to give the killers their bonus BP? I seriously don't understand how you can hate on BBQ&C which is far better balanced, over the much less balanced and currently OP Spine Chill... I just don't get your reasoning.

Myers is more fair, primarily because YOU KNOW he's coming, instead of just exposed out of nowhere not having any clue he's actually coming to you. Especially with the amount of deadzones and weak tiles in current dbd.

  • I think Spine Chill is perfectly fine where it's at now. I will only compromise it's nerf when Ghostface' reveal mechanic is fixed and his insta-stalk addons removed.

  • Be glad you don't have my very bad luck. I see Twins at least 5 times per day. I hate it.

  • Better than getting twins, artist, nemicrutch, blight, huntress, nurse or wraith.

  • Against this idea. It already feels like there's always a hook within 5 meters from each other in pretty much every map. Wiggling is already pretty pointless as it is.

Sorry that you survivors really want an easy game. But you know they need a stamina mechanic.

That's basically the killer mindset too. I see too many killers who want the easiest game possible without much effort.

  • idk, boons brought me back to the game ... also Sadako is a breath of fresh air

  • I just want shirtless Dwight. I don't care if it costs literally 12000 auric cells, I WILL buy it.

BUT ONLY ON THE CONDITION THAT IT'S NOT A WHOLE SET!! I want shirtless Dwight with whatever other cosmetics I want.

Yeah, it's called play a better killer / build. Your mistake is typically at the killer selection screen.

Can you really expect to go into games with a weaker killer and off meta builds and beat full meta survivors?

There's plenty of ridiculously strong killer builds to choose from. One's that basically take a full meta SWF on comms to beat. Nurse? Hello? You pick that character and auto-win against solo Q. If you don't have dead hard against her you basically just die in 2 seconds if she is really good.

Same thing with any other top tier killer running meta builds. Auto wins against any survivors NOT running full meta. And they are basically auto wins against solo Q teams even if they do have the meta. Worst case they are typically still 2king. All it takes is one survivor getting tunneled and not having DS and the entire team dies.

Overall the game is pretty killer sided outside of SWFs. Solo Q is typically a slaughter. What other game are people going on 50+ winstreaks at their real MMR? It's unheard of in a game like League if you are not smurfing.

    @hiken said:

is understandable with so many killers with extremely powerfull attacks, ranged attacks, TPS to certain position, extremely fast approaches seems only fair to have something that at least gives u a chance to reach something... other perks arent good enough for the most part so this happens.

I have to COMPLETELY AGREE here. There's way too many things that are downright BS or even borderline unfair that killers have, that really makes something like DH completely fair and understandable to run. Considering the number of anti-chase, anti-loop killers, EXTREME high mobility / teleport powers, dedicated servers giving killers with bad internet an advantage, overall map changes & nerfs.

  • Considering the amount of anti-chase killers, overly done killer addons, certain killer powers, map changes, deadzones, certain killer perks (no I am NOT talking about noed, idc about that perk) - I think DH is largely fair. But I personally prefer Overcome.

  • I wouldn't care either way, nor would I be the least bit surprised. I have over a dozen other games I enjoy way more anyways.

  • I love me some jumpscare Myers.

  • Yeah DH is fine as-is, especially with the number of killer-sided things (servers, bs hits, deadzones, unsafe tiles) in the game. Survivors should have a chance to survivor, not just always die 100% in 10 seconds no matter what.

But it is just not possible to detect why you DC there is no technology that can detact if you internet got out or you power or if you just pulled the plug or used a shortcut to kill your internet it's not a thing in no game because to my knowledge that technology does not exist

On the contrary, it IS possible to detect. It's been done before in other games, and as someone who works in the software development field, I can confirm it's possible and with 99.9% accuracy.

Saying "that technology does not exist" is false and misleading information. It's just a matter of being implemented correctly.

  • Unfortunately it is. I've got hit literally 2+ whole seconds after totally vaulting a pallet. Seems fair?? Not.

  • Yeah this system needs to go. Literally just tried a match on a completely new account, no matches played yet - very first match was a god tier blight, and my teammates sucked.

MMR totally works, I see why new player retention would suck. If I'm just starting out the game for the first time, and I get sweatfest killers right off the start every single match, I'd quickly uninstall and refund.

  • I really don't get why people even still do this with MMR in place ... Like, you know you will just harder matches doing that?

  • Eh no, too many maps already are giant deadzones as a whole (the entirety of autohaven maps)

  • She .... has a power? And it's pretty good once you learn to utilize it correctly. Imho she's pretty balanced. By far the most balanced we've gotten in over a whole year and a half.

  • The grind is harmful in general. We have SO many characters now, and as someone who works/goes to school, it's even more difficult.

And with the game in it's current very unhealthy & boring state, who actually wants to play the game every waking moment ....?

  • I know way too many people would would rather genrush twins hard instead of playing out the match. Get out faster.

  • Playing since April 2018 - The game is in a really unhealthy state overall.

    • Both sides are incredibly boring to play.
    • MMR is making this game more and more stale every single day that passes.
    • Solo survivor is still embarrassingly weak.
    • Very very very stale meta.
    • Killers hard tunnel every single match now, even DS is useless now.
    • Killers hard camp every single match now, and even with BT they just hard tunnel.
    • Boring to go against strong anti-loop killers.
    • The whole "killer is hard" mantra.
    • I'm seeing a lot of toxicity end-game chats, almost every game.

Legion gets free injures with his power and more easily what's wrong with that? This just makes that first hit much harder which is the main point of his ambush attack. Unless the tile was very bad to begin with you were only making them drop a pallet a little bit quicker. At the end of the day he's still a m1 killer who has to eat pallets/pallet stuns with some mobility and stealth.

The difference between Legion is, his Feral Frenzy cannot down you. Wraith gets a borderline-unfair postcloak lunge which often rewards him for a very easy down with little to no effort at all.
