    • There is no way this post is real...good trap🤣
    • After 5 years of playing and 5 years trying to introduce new players, i gave up. all my attempts were a failure. it's too complicated to start playing when you have zero knowledge of the hundreds of dynamics to learn. So either you love dbd from the start, or you will run away from it as fast as possible. Maybe my mistake is to make my friends start being survivors... today i would recommend starting as a killer

The problem is that the Emblem-System needs you to play well, but also the other side has to play well. If the Survivors are too bad, you might not even pip as Killer because you kill them too quickly.

And as Survivor if the Killer is too bad, you wont pip either. Maybe even worse, since it also requires your teammates to play good but not too good, because otherwise they are basically "stealing" your Pips.

IMO a 4K and an Escape should have always been awarded with a Pip.

    • well, PIP in 2025 doesn't really matter (my opinion). Same thing happens in survivor, if killer doesn't get hooks, getting "altruism" emblem is practically impossible, but i would never come here on the forum to complain about that🤣
    • I try to understand, you are complaining because the survivors do not heal and make you win the game easily with 3 generators remaining ... it is one of the strangest complaints I have heard in the years that I frequent this forum🤣
    • Bots are BAD, (I'm talking about the real ones and not the supposed ones). It's not true that they work on generators, especially if killer has a large terror radius. They are programmed to stay hidden, when barely feel the terror radius. In some games I've seen bots do absolutely nothing. On the contrary, when the generators are completed (by real players), they are VERY FAST to open the door and run away🤣
    • yes, the event is very killer sided, but it's just an event, it won't last long. and if you really don't appreciate it, you can play the "normal game". I only did the challenges and went back to the normal queue
    • I don't want to criticize your post, but to say that if the survivors appear together on the map it is a "nerf" to killer, is really wrong. But then you are talking about "fast healing" .We'll Make It has been in the game for a very long time allowing a healing in 8 seconds (truly phenomenal) and never anyone complained ... now suddenly it has become a huge problem? Come on, if you win/lose a match it's not because of the speed of healing. And it was also just confirmed by forum moderators that the kill rate hasn't dropped at all, so….what exactly are we talking about?
    • But will you really receive these perk so often? Surely you are in an asian server, because the only ones I see here in Europe are "we'll make it" and "resurgence" and rarely the healing boon…stop
    • I'm noticing the opposite phenomenon. Killers are becoming better and better at performing (I'm talking about players). If you're not 100% focused as a survivor, if there's even one weak element among the 4 survivors, the game is really difficult to manage. Finding a game without Pop, Bamboozle, Pain Res, Dead Man Switch... is practically impossible. Even just a map, as with killers, can automatically make a game difficult. If you have a game on Haddonfield, Rancid Abattoir or D&D map, if all 4 survivors are not 100% focused, you have a high probability of defeat.I purposely leave out when the killer tunnels hard, that makes every game "hard" for survivors. To conclude, survivors are increasingly efficient and performing, because 90% of the games can be won only if you play really well. For example, last night I had a very difficult match with a Plague that tunneled me through 5 generators. I was equipped with DS and DH, so I managed the situation quite well, but if in my place there had been a "less experienced" player or with "fun perks", the match would have been a nightmare for my teammates. My teammates on the other hand were VERY GOOD at finishing generators as quickly as possible and helping me at the end of the match. If I had teammates who cleanse totems or did the "white glyph" challenge ... I would have definitely died 100%
    • In theory, in any democratic country, you can express an opinion without fearing for your life. It is clear that this is pure madness/fascism. And it is clear that this person, says what 99% of DBD players think. (I'm kidding, don't attack me)🤣

Why is Bill's the only one that can only be bought with iridescent shards? I really want it but a bit confused why there isnt an auric option. Im newer to game and doubt I can get that much before event end.

    • By "contract" with the license holders (Bill is a character from Left 4 Dead) his cosmetics cannot be purchased with "real money" but only with the "imaginary" currency of the game
    • If you go up manually you will have more cakes. I did the test and using the old bloodweb function I got 17 cakes (still less than the other events)
    • It's always been like this, I never understood why. maybe they want to take advantage of the fact survivors are "distracted" by the event. I finished the new missions and tonight I'm going on "normal" mode🤣
    • I don't agree 100%. It's true that many killer powers are "similar" to each other, but killer gameplay is still fresh and varied (I'll give you an extreme example, Nurse works extremely differently from Vecna and vice versa). The dramatic situation is in the survivors: no new items, the "strong" perks that are always used the same ones (except for VERY RARE exceptions like Finesse), no new objectives, no new "escape route" (maybe working for a secondary objective). If I were a Devs I would do something to make the survival experience more stimulating and fresh
  • It's also true that M1 killers are rare, Trapper and Pig I see very rarely. All my games are Blight, Wesker, Oni, Billy, Kaneki, Huntress, some Nurse, some Spirit... the only M1 I see played consistently is Myers (with Tombstone) and Legion (I guess because it's fun to play). I mean, the norm in this game is to play against strong killers, not weak killers. So I think the game is generally balanced around the most used killers, rather than the "niche" ones.

    • I think they'll leave everything as it is now, but 10 seconds of BT that are there now will be replaced by 10 seconds of "invulnerability" (without loss of collision), so perks like Off The Record and DH will be able to function normally. If a surv is cut off from the game due to tunnels, a random generator will be completed automatically. So tunneling will still be possible (the strategy will always be practicable) but it involves risks/waste of time. Now tunneling does not have a single downside, only benefits
    • Reading the various comments I noticed one thing, many take the competitive of DBD as a reference as "standard" and would like to apply it in "everyday" games. In this way it is like comparing the games played in the school basketball court with an NBA final... it is simply not the same thing. Yes it is the same game, but the skills (and mentality) of the players are completely different
    • yes, sometimes the doors/teleporters are literally stuck to the generators, and reacting in time is really hard. So, either you have sprint bust, or you take a hit anyway. This NEVER happens with Freddy, Sadako or Xenomorph. let's say that the Devs want to ensure good sales, there's nothing wrong with that, they are a company that wants to entertain players (or at least a part of them)🤣
    • I would put a safe with locks in the center of the map, take these locks and put them on the armored door. The killer can obviously open the door anyway, but it takes a couple of seconds longer. Currently armored doors are absolutely useless from a surv point of view (in fact nobody uses them), they waste time and are too risky

One major thing is cosmetics. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the Survivor cosmetics are getting increasingly animated and whimsical. I have no idea what's going on with the two most recent tomes, but I genuinely can't use most of it because the hair looks like a cosplay wig and the outfits themselves are very street fashion.

Aside from that, I will never forget what they've done to some of my favorite perks that weren't causing any problems for the game—WGLF, Calm Spirit, Pharmacy, Wake Up, Blast Mine, etc.

    • I agree, skins are becoming more and more bizarre and absurd, in fact (with exceptions) I see older skins being used more often than newer ones.
    • Old "spine chill", I think the most massacred perk in DBD history🤣
  • Vecna, Dracula, Unknown, for me they are the funniest of "DBD new era"

    • As many said "normal" but after all, nothing will surpass in design ugliness Haddonfied, The Game, Garden of Joi, Rancid Abattoir and D&D map. (I'm talking about design not aesthetics, the D&D map for me is one of the most beautiful in the game aesthetically)
    • I'm fine with the current system, but at this point map offers cost too many BP for the little value they have. Considering that "Sacrificial Ward" costs so few BP, the current system really doesn't make sense (in my opinion). I feel sorry for stealth killer , this current system must apply to everyone or no one. After all the current system was loudly requested above all by the main killers

As a "competitive player who hates losing", is it really a surprise that the game is giving you opponents who are also competitive and hate losing? Probably one of those rare times SBMM seems to be working

    Edit: spelling

    • Exactly, in this case the MMR works very well (from what he wrote)... a very good killer faces very good survivors

Well, it still will be a issue when they fix it. I think we need to discuss the impact of these changes in the game, even if they are not working right now.

    • yes, I was just saying to play carefree about "Shroud of Separation", now it doesn't work
    • "Shroud of Separation" is bugged, it just doesn't work, it was reported in the "bug section"
    • I try to waste the killer's time as much as possible just to make sure everyone is safe. If there's no reason to "waste time" i just go out. I'm the classic super altruistic survivor, so for me it's unthinkable open the door and not care about who's still inside the map/on the hook. i think many killers don't understand 100% why survivors wait at the doors... it's not toxicity many times, but a way to waste time
    • yes, "Shroud of Separation" has been reported in the "bug" section, Devs are aware of it
    • I confirm, my statistics are not at all "realistic"... they are very approximate

People react to the Warning Message like its a personal slight against them, they dont want to be told they played incredibly poorly. So poor in fact that a system designed to track people who kill themselves on purpose are suspicious of them.

You do know how other games tell you, that you are bad? They give you a Game Over.
I gotta say I have no time for a guy who sits and looks at a warning message for 10 seconds, then looks at chat and then looks back at the message. Its Theater, He wanted to make a point cause he felt insulted by the warning.

And BHVR is happy to take a look at their system, ofc they are.

    • No, sorry, the problem here is not "game over", the guy was being ironic saying "gg, the worst match of my life"... the problem is the ban/penalty, it's definitely different. On fortnite (example) you can die within seconds of landing, it's game over, not ban/penalty🤣
    • I've been playing DBD for a long time now, and I'm seeing the same frustration in the survivors that killers had years ago. Something has to change, I don't know what, I'm not a Devs, but we're in an unhappy situation for the game. Certainly (I think no one can contradict me) DBD is not a welcoming/easy game for new players

Honestly, I think the system has potential, but clearly needs a bit more fine-tuning.

This particular match was an unfortunate example… Dawko is new to the game, and it’s totally understandable that a new player wouldn’t fully grasp chase dynamics or map pressure yet. Still, the idea behind the system isn’t to punish bad games… it’s to discourage deliberate throw behavior or early ragequits that ruin matches for everyone else.

Ideally, future updates will distinguish better between inexperience and intentional sabotage. Because while the execution isn’t perfect yet, the intention to improve team accountability is, in my opinion, a step in the right direction.

    • yesterday i got grabbed by the skull merchant who was undetectable. my teammates saved me from the hook and i wanted to stop a gen regression before healing and i get grabbed..i'm not blaming the killer, it was my mistake! The future system must also understand that "undetectable" affects some game mechanics... mistakes happen to everyone!
    • yes, this video is just awful. even the player (i dont know who he is) seemed shocked by penalty🤣 DBD is currently the only game in the world that punishes players for having a bad game. Can you imagine something like that on Fortnite or COD?🤣
    • It's always like this, especially when new killers are released and during events... it's just to welcome new players or those who have taken a break from the game.🤣 I've also noticed an increase in proxy camping, clearly proxy camping has always been there and always will be... but now it's in pretty much every game.
  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

On one hand, the new system is annoying. On other other hand, I like crows, and it's nice to have crow friends.

    LOL 🤣

    • My only complaint is that he's an unoriginal killer. It's like Huntress and Sadako had a baby... and that baby is Springtrap🤣. i mean, after playing 10 games in a row, you'd want something different, but it's normal that he's super popular now🤷‍♂️
    • I only used the armored door once out of curiosity... I saw how it was, and then I never used it again. Too risky and also a waste of time, better to spend that time to repair a generator. As someone already wrote, maps are small, there is no real reason to use the armored doors. This mechanic is a tool for killer, not for survivors (my opinion)
    • imagine if a killer was banned because he was inexperienced and couldn't get hooks... here in the forum there would literally be a revolution. but okay, let's wait for the next patch and see what happens. the game is already not very welcoming to "newcomers", so it's literally a nightmare🤣
    • this change, while seemingly "hurting" survivors ("Eyrie of Crows" is famous for this), actually hurts all stealth killers HUGELY. If you are truly "main killers", how did you not think when you asked for this change?
    • I confirm. the new killer sometimes bugs and becomes literally invisible. I also had crows appear completely randomly for no reason (I wasn't still, I was moving stealthily to save a surv with killer who was camping, then I went back to the gen ... and voilà the crows fly at my head 🤣)
  • dark sense, now it's in my "everyday" builds and I think I'll use it really often... just a great perk. reminds me of the old "spine chill" but 100 times better🤣

  • @iseriaqueen said:

So I finished all the survivor quests in the current Chaos Shuffle event, but it says I am 11/12 for the Geralt banner.

I am currently unable to play killer as the narrow field of view makes me throw up. I have tried 3 times and threw up every time. Did I perhaps miss a quest somewhere?

    • do the mission "break X pallets", put a random killer, put "the Game" map as an offer, farm with surv and in 2 games you have done the challenge
    • My experience: Users of this perk often use it in combination with "Self-Care" and as item a torch or a toolbox. The healing speed (except when using Self-Care alone) is acceptable in all cases, so I don't think this change will be that drastic. Yes, you will now be faster with the medkit if you have this perk, but will this really change the outcome of a match? I don't think so.
    • It would be a dream to play the old DBD. Of course just leave "optional mode", so those who don't like it can play the "normal" game. When Fortnite first released Fortnite OG, it was really a huge success, DBD should do the same. I bet it would be even more successful than 2VS8
    • I absolutely fell in love with Taurie because of her vocal lines... i know she's supposed to represent anxiety/anguish/fear, a true cult supporter, but it's too funny to me. Her line "no hooks for me today!!!!" has become my meme🤣
  • @QuantumEcho said:

In solo queue, I've been mostly running perks like WOO, Kindred, Deju Vu, Lithe or Bond but I've been wondering about what other kind of survivor builds for solo queue would be good for an inexperienced player that mainly plays without friends in solo queue matches, I'm somewhat decent in looping but not exactly the best and i mainly do gens, heal or go for unhooks, what are some builds that you would recommend me?

    • From what you wrote in your description, you are practically perfect.🤣 the perks you use are "good", so my advice is to continue in this way. Maybe I would advise you to add an anti-tunnel perk in your builds, like DS or Off The Record... in reality these are perks that not only benefit you, but the entire team😉

    • I don't comment on your discussion, but last month I played with one of the BHVR staff. I understood it at the end of the game because he had a banner that I discovered can only belong to the Devs. He wasn't a cheater because the game went "normally" and the Dev (survivor) died🤣

My biggest gripe is how the new Rift makes the FOMO worse with Daily Rituals being pretty necessary to get to the end of the rift.

    • I don't want to "defend" BHVR, but this is simply not true. Just complete missions (all very easy to do, in 99% of cases you just have to play) and do the daily missions (not every day), and you will complete the rift well in advance. obviously you have to play a minimum, but don't spend the whole day on dbd
