- all the people who say "she is very easy to counter, tier D or F!!!"... I would like to see them against a really good Hag. definitely her power depends on the map, she is not an easy killer to use (she is a "strategic" killer, like Trapper or Singularity) , but used well it's really scary. I follow a streamer "hag main", and I can tell you it's truly devastating
-
95% unsafe /unloopable pallet … I remind you that bloodlust is a mechanic in this game. hawkins laboratory is full of pallets too, but it is certainly not on the survivor's side
-
- For those who have a "proxycamping" playing style, this event is like a miracle🤣
-
- a killer who manages to cross the map in a few seconds, who manages to curve, who instantly breaks pallets, who is not afraid of mistakes, indeed for him they mean "enhancing" the chainsaw, who has an instadown.... yes I would say he is better than blight🤣

It's such a a weird thing to me when people say this to me after I 4k and they get salty. I literally just did 1v4 and won why would I bother to do a 1v1 lol.
It always came across as coming from inexperienced survivors who think chase is the only thing that matters and have no concept of macro play.
- you're right, but the problem with this game is that you can be 100 times better than killer, but if your teammates aren't good, you'll still die (apart from hatch, but that's just luck). that's why 1Vs1 exists
-
you're always so sweet, you're a BHVR mod? you do a amazing job <3
-
- usually these problems happen on Switch and NEVER give you anything to apologize for. They will definitely give something to Xbox because (I guess) Xbox users are more important than Nintendo users
-
- I had a suspicion that there are only novice killers on this forum, but when this map came out I had it confirmed. If you COMPLETELY IGNORE the dungeon and stay the entire game on the upper floor... it's impossible to lose. try this strategy and then you will say "you're right" 😉it's strange that no content creator has made a video revealing this "secret"🤣
-
- I follow different content creators, there is a lot of difference between surviving content and killer content. Survivor content is about fun (70% of the time the content creator dies). Killer content is all about wins, maybe with unusual perk/ combo/ addon, but still just wins. the mentality they spread is that survivor must have fun and try creative plays (of course, sometimes really annoying the poor killer), but it doesn't matter if he wins or dies… killer doesn't play to have fun, but to win.
-
- I think the problem wasn't POP, but POP combined with 2 - 3 other regression perks (which was very common). if the killers had limited themselves to using one, maximum 2 regression perks per match... I don't think we would have reached this point. for killers DBD is a game where time is precious... but it's the same for survivors; if you add 30 seconds (for example) of regression to a generator every time it's a problem. It has nothing to do with the "boring of repairing the generators", but because the resources on the map (pallets) run out, so each chase will be shorter, and in the end the game will be lost "automatically"
(obviously from the perspective of a killer who plays decently... if you are a mediocre killer no perks will help you)
NOTE: I agree with you. POP was the most nerfed perk

And how exactly do you buff solo queue to help with, say, Pentimento without also inherently nerfing Pentimento (by making it "easier" for survivors to coordinate against it or whatever)?
"i go to save hook"
"I do killer mechanics" (in this case the cube)
"I cleanse totem"
but not the action while you do it ( game Hud is already there)... but your intention to do it
Simple lines of text that make it clear who does what. in a game like this they are fundamental.
Maybe I wasn't clear, this post is about buff soloq, killers have nothing to do with this post (maybe my english isn't clear enough) -
@whispersenthusiast said:
The only part of that build that solo queue teammates tend to struggle against is Pentimento. Survivors will cleanse totems and then just completely refuse to go back for Pentimento when it activates.
Even then, that's a survivor skill issue, and I don't think that anything needs to change. We should move away from hand holding, not enabling it further.
sorry, were did i write that i would like a nerf? 🤣 if you are organized this strategy can be countered.(I also specified that we all survived). If anything, I'm asking for a "buff" to soloq

- "Do gens" —toxic
- "Sabo build" —toxic
- "OTR + Ds" — toxic
- SWF competitive — toxic
- SWF Meme — toxic
- Farming SWF — toxic
- Lithe + Windows — toxic
- Stealth play — toxic
- Renato's perk + flashsave — toxic
what exactly should a survivor do to not be judged as wrong or toxic? Maybe selfcare behind the rock?🤣

- for a person playing both roles, overall killer perks are better than those for survivors. when someone complains about the monotony of survivor perks, I understand that they are a person who only plays killer. to understand 100% what I mean, it was enough to play both roles in "chaos shuffle". After the release of Alan (a licensed character) and his perks... I had lost all hope (except "champion of light" which isn't great anyway ) but I was amazed by Sable, now her perks are all interesting (obviously after the "invocation" buff).
-
- Can I ask everyone a question? Didn't "Chaos Shuffle" teach you anything? Do you really feel so "addicted" to a couple of perks? (I'm talking to all DBD players, killers and survivors) If you feel """forced""" to use only certain perks to win, perhaps these perks should be nerfed instantly. I remember the old "DH"... when it was severely nerfed it almost seemed like the apocalypse (or the greatest thing in the world if you played Killer), but little by little the game moved forward and we all adapted. I try to play as best as I can, in my philosophy perks are a little "help" but they cannot replace my skills. When a game goes badly (Survivor or killer) I don't blame DBD, Devs, perks, map, the luck/bad luck… I try to understand my mistakes… or simply the players I faced were better than me (unknown concept in this forum).
-
- Vecna is (for me) one of the most fun and strategic killers in the whole game. if you want a super oppressive killer, or you want to make a "wins in a row", or you like killers "use your power and don't care about everything else!" ....don't buy it.
-
- they look too "brand new", not only because of their color (too white), also the edges are too precise and smooth, for me they should appear slightly damaged. The best of the 3 for me is Oni, but not because it has more details, but because it seems the most "worn". If I had to give a rating, I would give it 9/10... with the changes I suggested my rating would be 10/10
-
I remind you that we are in 2024 and not in 2019. with some exceptions ( killer like Trapper or map like "The Game"), maps are smaller, the number of pallets is decidedly fewer and less safe, killers are more oppressive and there are perks like Pop and PainRES practically everywhere…You must evaluate the gameplay as a whole, and not consider just one aspect of the game (generator repair time). "official" statistics are very clear... the game is quite balanced, slightly favoring the killer. The second change after a hypothetical increase time to repair generators, would be to nerf Nurse, Blight and Billy.... and I don't think anyone would be happy with this
-
- yeah, this perk is OP like Renato's Blood Rush🤔 It's clear that anyone who says this has never played Survivor or doesn't know about the existence of Keys + Blood amber. This perk isn't useless and situational like Blood Rush, but it certainly isn't Op
-
- if we have Trickster and the "merchant lady"... I don't understand why Vecna wouldn't be fine🤣
-
- I have the Jeff icon because he was my "first love" on DBD. He was (and still is) an underused character and I like being different from the majority. This passion of mine for peculiar characters continued with Zarina, Alan and Cheryl (even though Cheryl is still a popular character in the community). I have no particular preferences about killers because (for me) everything depends on their power and not on their aesthetics… so no one could be my "alter ego"

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/415555/someone-explain-to-me-scavenger
It's meant to promote a different kind of playstyle. Basically, you do Generators quickly for a bit, then it forces you off the Generator, you go and heal teammates or take chase, then go do Generators again with the toolbox from before.
It's not a bad perk, but it is a bit gimmicky.
- the problem is that everything is linked to the RNG of skill checks, you don't decide when to reload the toolbox..... if you have nothing to do (as happened in my game) you are punished and that's it. Not the best game design ever🤣
-
@Beaburd said:
I actually had this perk in a few of my builds for roughly a month:
CoH + Shadow Step + Exponential + Scavenger
CoH + Shadow Step + Illumination + Scavenger
Fogwise + Hyperfocus + Stakeout + Scavenger
Calm Spirit + Lightweight + Other + Scavenger
Etc…The general concept was to use the Toolbox asap, trigger Scavenger, then do something else like Boon, rescue, etc. The Hyperfocus build also let me circumvent the negatives associated with Scavenger by forcing my progress to primarily come from skill checks as opposed to base repair speed. Basically, in most cases, it was to use Scavenger as a stand-alone generator perk that let me do generators faster while also enabling the rest of my build during the 30 second debuff phase.
That said, even after extensive testing, I had to drop it.
Scavenger's debuff often proc'd at critical times when I needed the base repair speed, especially if I had Stakeout and could not avoid a great skill check. There were also plenty of games where I would not get enough skill checks to proc the perk at meaningful times, like before an unhook, to body block someone else, or before I get seen and forced into a chase. And even if there was an opportune time to use the perk, it was pretty frequent I would not get enough skill checks to actually activate the perk at all. Of course, even if I had the ideal scenario to use the perk paired with an adequate number of skill checks, there was also no guarantee I would hit them. The perk was just so conditional that, if I was lucky, I would get it to proc once or MAYBE (very rarely) twice per match.
It became so frustrating to make work consistently that I dropped it for another perk you mentioned, Built to Last, which is just so far superior to Scavenger in every way that it is kind of disappointing. With Built to Last I get guaranteed 2 more uses of my item (which almost never happened with Scavenger), I could use it on demand, the time to use the perk was only 12 seconds as opposed to the 15 second gen time penalty you'd get if you tried repairing with Scavenger's debuff, and, as a stealth player, I hide in lockers anyway so it was perfect.
Even if you consider the guaranteed toolbox from searching a chest, if you actually use this aspect of the perk, you're wasting the time saved from the perk itself. It just… none of it makes sense to me either.
—
TLDR:
I really tried to like and utilize this perk, but… yeah, it's pretty bad.
Just use Built to Last for a better and more consistent experience.- as I already said, I don't like "gen perks", so it's not a problem for me... I didn't use this perk and I never will, especially having realized how bad it is. I'm just shocked at the amount of useless/bad/situational/trap perks in this game. with a few exceptions, playing "chaos shuffle" is like playing constantly perkless (therefore very fun)🤣
-
- Rancid Abattoir can transform into the most "killer side" map in the whole game whenever RNG wants… This map is really brutal at times
-
- I remind you that we are in 2024 and not in 2019. with some exceptions, maps are smaller, the number of pallets is decidedly fewer and less safe, killers (in general) are more oppressive and there are perks like Pop and PainRES practically everywhere… if not having focus on gens, you will die.
-
- I'd rather have bad balancing from an "expert developer", than bad balancing from a sweaty gamer who plays DBD all day. These people can test new things, but I prefer them to stay out of important decisions. 99% of people just want to have fun with DBD (as "chaos shuffle" proved)...is that that hard to understand?
-
- It's the same when a killer wins a game with 4 - 3 generators left to repair. no one talks about "kill rush" and on the contrary it is something quite """normal""" in this game. But when the survivors hurry in their objective, in this case the complaints start. After years I think we are all addicted to this double standard😶
-
- I've learned that I'm a "decent" player even without perks. I thought without my "comfort perks" I would have difficult games, but (fortunately) that wasn't the case. In fact, when I have "useful" perks in "chaos shuffle" I feel almost unbeatable🤣
- Specifically on perks, I learned that "Overcome" and "Remember me" are very underrated perks. These two perks have some """flaws""" and would both need some adjustments, but when they work well they are very strong
-
- from my point of view there is more gameplay skill in "chaos shuffle" compared to the standard game. So on the contrary it should be the chaos shuffle the ranked mode and the "normal game" unranked one. What skill is it when killer stacks 4 slowdown perks or 4 aura vision perks, when half the game is played by perks? (the same goes for survivors who stack 4 "second chance" perks). (my opinion)
-
- Question of point of view...when "chaos shuffle" ends I will take a break from the game. Going back to "normal" mode just depresses me🤣
-
- Do not be afraid. Take risks and don't play stealth (unless absolutely necessary)
- always be productive, making gens, healing teammates, making saves from the hook. Don't play stealth and always be altruistic
- Check the game Hud often, it gives very useful information especially in SoloQ. You don't just need to be a good "looper", you also need to have a good understanding of the whole game (many call this "game sense")
- Don't always use the same perks, try to have a good rotation of all the perks you find "useful". Don't be "addicted" to a perk or a strategy... when the devs nerf them you will go into crisis.
- Practice "looping" every day. Unfortunately the online guides are not very useful because most killers have a anti-loop power. Only direct gaming experience can help you
- Have fun and don't care if you die a lot, hoping to escape every game is stupid and unrealistic. if you love making "wins in a row".... play killer🤣
-
- for me this is the best "modifier" ever made, it should stay forever. In this mode you can really see "the true skill" of players.
my vote? 10/10… gg Devs
-
- deadslinger - badham pre-school - survivor Alan Wake. My build "invocation", "windows", "dead hard", "resilience".
I was in chase the whole match (he hooked me twice)... but I don't consider myself very good in that match, the killer was simply a beginner and made a lot of mistakes. also my teammates helped me when the gates were open by protecting me (so I escaped). obviously it was an exciting match and I remember it well
-
- with the current killer meta-perk, just being a killer with decent skill is enough to win 80% of games.
- Noed and Ruin should be stronger and more oppressive. the "hundying" mechanic should base-kit in all hex totems
- The atmosphere of the "old DBD maps" was truly horror... the current maps are absolutely not scary
- Twins have always been a strong killer, even before the latest buff
-
- how is it possible that every game you play is against an aggressive SWF? I also play killer, but all these dramatic things are not so common. maybe I'm lucky🤨
-
- You may be a famous content creator, but you may have the wrong opinions. This to me is cheating. It's the same thing as monitor filters that increase the killer's red spot. Obviously the game remains unchanged, but you have a good advantage
-
- it was the year 2020. my first game I played Dwight (without perks) in Léry's Memorial Institute against Trapper. I didn't even get a good skill check, so I spent the whole game in the locker... obviously I died🤣
-
- I never thought I'd say this one day... but yes, survivors (in 2024) use "meta perk" less than killers (my experience). a Killer match without Pain Res and POP is really unusual. Obviously, among the survivors there will always be at least one adrenaline or WoO... but in general there is more variety than a couple of years ago
-
- I try to look at the survivor icons to see who is doing what
I do this, and in addition I check the injuried/healthy survivors and the number of hooks of each player. Then I check the attitude of the killer... if always proxycamping, the right thing is to go healthy/without hooks to make the save.
If the killer doesn't camp hooks, paradoxically the safest thing to do is to go for unhook. In general I try to understand the killer's attitude and play according to his "rules". Obviously there are times you are forced to take risks, such as going for an unhook even if you are injured or in death hook. in short, with experience you develop a certain "game sense"
-
- the funniest thing about this post are the people who say "don't worry honey, use Invocation as many times as you want"
I'm sure they are killer main🤣🤣🤣
(i'm joking of course)
-
Hyperfocus, the most overrated perk ever. I'm sure anyone thinks it's "very powerful" has never played a survivor game in their life. Is this an atrocious perk? No, but there are much more powerful perks for rushing gens (my opinion)
-
- The Unhook interaction may no longer be cancelled partway to avoid being able to keep someone on the hook maliciously.
this change remain atrocious😑
-
- the problem with the "invocation" is that it puts the whole team in a difficult game, not just the player who use it
why?
- invocation eliminates a player from the game for 120 seconds.
- invocation makes a player very vulnerable throughout the game.
- invocation has a "weak" effect due to all the effort it requires.
Now, if the killer is a novice it's great, but if the killer is a normal/expert player, this perk is an absolute disaster...You are right to report and complain about these players, but try to understand the reason for this behavior. this perk should never have passed the company's "control quality", especially with all SoloQ problems.
-
- Using a "strong" perk shouldn't make any difference. I can use (for example) "adrenaline" or "pop" (we all agree that they are strong perks), but still not be skilled at the game.Likewise… I can use "red herring" or "hoarder" (we all agree that these perks suck) but be a very skilled player
-
"survivors have each other to rely on" … I suggest less streaming of survival main and more "real" game in soloq🤣
-
New Dead hard … not is nerf, but its strange inconsistency (but it remains my favorite perk)
When I play survivor, play almost every game 3VS1 (for several reason you can imagine).
Weaving spiders players (but only when I play survivor… when I play killer I love this perk)
-
- he is an old school killer, his mistakes are punished harshly. Modern killers face almost no consequences for their mistakes (with exceptions, of course). for me he is not the strongest, but not the weakest either, playing with him requires a lot of skill and "mind". in the "killer throwing something" category I find the trickster to be the weakest
-
1 - Nurse
2 - Blight
3 - Billy (new Billy of course)
4 - Oni
5 - Spirit
6 - Chucky
7 - Plague
8 - Singularity (Yes, you read this correctly)
9 - Twins (yes, pre-rework)
10 - Wesker
Honorable mention: The Artist, Pinhead (with right addons) and Lady Merchant (the strongest M1 killer in game)
-
Hyperfocus : the most overrated perk in DBD history
Sole survivor and Clairvoyance : the most underrated perks in DBD history (obviously, only for some gamestyle)
Pharmacy: the most forgotten perk in DBD history (why does it still exist?)
Weaving spiders: this is a good killer perk, does a better job Pop or Pain resonance , but I'd say a solid "A tier"🤣
-
"the final girl" - 3 surv men - 1 surv woman
- it's a "normal" game, but men (who play with the perks they want and the objects they want) die on the first hook. the girl instead plays without perks, but has the normal hook stages. The aim of the game is to make the girl escape, if the girl escapes the whole team has won... if the girl dies the game is over and the killer wins
