Can someone clarify exactly what is meant by the new prestige system? When I P1 a character, all of the perks for that character are unlocked on every other character? I've played since the game was launched - every single perk is already unlocked on all my characters. So in short - this does nothing for me?

And what is the new prestige reward - do we know yet? I doubt it is a lousy charm.

    See you in the fog

I doubt it is a lousy charm.

    P7, P8 and P9 unlocks the teachable perks as a charm enjoy😂

If they just replaced those ugly charms that change colors throughout the rift with blood points I don't think a single person would complain.

  • Whatever you want to think about the Stranger Things chapter it was a time limited one. I still think that was the deal that was made from Netflix. That's just my opinion.

They asked how players would feel because there is going to be another Stranger Things chapter😀

  • It's not toxic behavior or a strategy it's just gameplay.

Just like all four survivors slamming out gens in 5 minutes it's not toxic behavior it's just gameplay.

Until the DEVs add more to do in the match so it's not over with in 5 minutes for either side.

    That's it

DBD is a competitive game not a party game.😂

It's not meant to be fun if you're trying to have fun in a video game you have to play something else.

please don't call me "DBD white knight" it's just cringe.

of course you get quick matches there are like 7 players playing you're probably playing against the same players over and over.

But to think that PSN Dbd players went to play evil dead is wrong and doesn't make any sense.

Cool it's heading in a good direction but who cares the game is already dead

Yeah, sure whatever you say white knight.

oh you're talking about the famous DbD killer #73 lmao who cares about this game it literally has 500-600 viewers on Twitch rn

it's a dead game and there is a lack of content to bring players in.

people hyped this game too much it was never going to be a competitor.

Ok it's nothing like DBD I don't know why everyone one keeps saying that 😂 there both two completely different games.

Yeah sure it's a dead game😂 I get in matches in seconds.

Sorry I didn't mean to upset you DBD white knight, but the game is heading in a good direction.

And I said Evil Dead because most of my matches are filled with PlayStation players.

  • You're devotion 2 level 77 just about devotion 3.

Same, i have moved on VHS and ED and well, i have tried to come back to DbD but it is impossible after playing those games. I will maybe try the next update but even with the current event, that is great with the masks etc... i cannot play DbD, being camped over and over and over again, no way.

I been playing since 2018 I joined DBD a little after F13 came to an end.

It was a lot of fun back then, but from 2020 to now its just camp, tunnel, slam out gen's as fast as you can.

Survivors don't want to interact with killer and killers don't want to interact with survivors. I invested too much time into this game to just walk away so I'll come back from time to time.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre I'm looking forward to as well

  • I took a month break to play Evil Dead came back within the last week to play a little bit of the event.

Going back to Evil Dead soon I'll play that until the update goes live.

Check out the update to see if any killers are going to change the way they play ( there's no need to camp and tunnel after the update goes live) and if camping and tunneling is still the go to play style

    Going back to Evil Dead.

You're really going hard on the idea that I'm losing my mind and panicking over this; we've had plenty of OP things in the past like old DS and old Object, and still have plenty of OP things like BNP and Alchemist's Ring. I don't think this one thing is killing the game; the only thing I'm saying is that a new perk design is far too powerful and needs toned down. A PTB will not change my standpoint on this because I know it's literally current BT but stronger, which I fundamentally disagree with because BT is already an S tier perk and nearly every other meta perk is being adjusted down.

Saying something is OP and should be fixed is not raging, panicking or otherwise freaking out; it's just sharing an opinion. Opinions are incredibly valuable to developers. If the community on the whole does not like an idea and wants it changed, it's important they share that. If they didn't, I guarantee you we wouldn't have had an RPD rework for another couple years and Object would never have been touched.

Yes I understand, but the main point of this update is to push killers away from that type of play style camping and tunneling.

But the more a keep reading, hearing and seeing I'm coming to realize nobody wants to change the way they play.

Camping and tunneling is still going to be the go to gameplay.

Here's an explanation from arguably the best killer main in the entire community about how this change affects killers who don't camp and tunnel. I don't need a PTB to see that taking what is already a top 3 perk in the current meta and creating a functional duplicate with a duration nearly 7 times greater than the original is too strong.

Sorry I don't mind watching YouTube videos for entertainment, but I think for myself not what some youtuber/twitch streamer says.

It hasn't been released yet a lot that was said in the notes could still be changed when it goes live. If you're not taking part in the PTB then you'll just have to wait and see what happens. Calm down

    image.png

Relax don't forget to breathe very important

  • There's not much you can do besides move on to the next game, and hope your team mates do gens and the killer doesn't rely on camping and tunneling.

  • If you already have the blood cosmetics you don't lose them.

To my understanding every killer and survivor you have P3 will become P6.

So the only point P7,P8 and P9 is if you want the perks as a charm.

That math is actually with the speed boost nerf and cooldown buff. Currently you'd gain even more distance than that.

Dude just wait for the PTB all this bickering everyone is doing is tiresome.

If you're able to take part in the PTB test it out and give feedback. The whole point of the buff and nerfs in this update is to push killers away from camping.

If you are this worried about it you're spending to much time by the hooked survivor.

  • That how double blood point events always worked😂

  • It only doubles what you make in the match it doesn't count BBQ, BPS or cakes

  • Tunneling & camping are not Strategies it's just gameplay and a crappy one at that.

When it's used every match from the start, middle or end its just gameplay there is nothing special about it.

  • Honestly blame the player base for what camping is now not the DEVs.

Killer mains brainwashing killer players into using it all the time especially at 5 gens. Worshipping the dog ######### style of gameplay.

Again blame the community for what camping is and what it has become

That's cool that they're making chase style gameplay more accessible and rewarding, but camping is still strong, possibly stronger, and much easier.

A game shouldn't require the killer to choose to play in a way that's fun for the other side. That should be the default gameplay loop! If they camp, they should lose and lose really badly! I'd go so far to say that if you hard facecamp the survivors should get an easy 4-man out because the strategy is so ineffective.

At the current moment, facecamping with most killers can get you a 2k with little effort and a 4k with survivors who throw to try and save their teammates. They made it take longer to do generators which gives chase killers more time to enjoy chases, but also makes camping more effective. They should do something that nerfs camping killers but doesn't effect chase killers.

Removing hook grabs and increasing the hook timer are both things that don't really effect chase killers. As a chase killer, I don't really care if they get the save in 5 seconds. In fact, that makes things easier for me as it gives them less time to do generators and gets me into a chase immediately. If they don't save for 70 seconds because they concentrate on generators, they've got a useless teammate who is stuck on the hook and I can camp at the 60 second mark to force the second stage or get an easy exchange.

Hook grabs are fun, but really only useful as a crutch for killers. The main problem is that a hook grab results in now camping two survivors.

Is there an argument for why camping is a good thing that a killer should do? I've mostly just heard, "It's required for the killer to win," and "I have no choice," which um... are less than convincing.

I dislike camping I never camped even when I could of I don't do it. Camping is not rewarding to me, but I'm sure to the ones that do it makes them feel like a skilled killer or whatever high they get from it. Camping to me it's crap it's a bum move that player is not skilled it's a cheap win.

Don't camp, take the loss practice learn from your mistakes play better.

The Devs know what they have done and I'm sure they have something ready if every match the killer is doing nothing but camping. This update is not live yet it goes to the PTB next week sometimes you have to see how things play out.

Again, I point you back to facecamping Bubba being a thing coming up on five years in September. DbD just turned six. Do I need to say any more?

You can’t possibly think facecamping gets disincentivized only by strengthening it?

Yes their will still be the one or two butt-heads that will camp because that's how they make themselves feel important. There nothing you can do about that, but one day camping is going to be discontinued and they will be the ones crying and I will be laughing.

But for the rest that claim they had to camp because gens get slammed out so fast or they were forced to camp. Now they have a chance to change the way they play and it's given to them.

But you have to give players a chance to change.

And I'm sure if no ones willing the change the DEVs have something already planned to deal with it.

With the buffs killers got there is no need to camp anymore so it's their choice if they continue to play like that there might be a big surprise coming their way.

  • @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3020131#Comment_3020131

What new incentive does a killer who could facecamp before have to leave a hook now? There’s less pressure on them to leave, and their popular gen defense perks are all but nerfed. What am I missing?

Oh sure, a massive camping nerf. Like how Bubba can’t sit in front of a hooked survivor to deny an unhook five years later?

Like I said the changes they made ( I'm sure you read them) are to push killers away from that type of gameplay.

Their give killer players a chance to change the way they play. If they don't want to change the way they play and refuse to interact with the survivors and continue to camp at 5 gens. Then the Devs will do something.

Yes it could be 3,6,9 months before camping is nerf in the ground or survivors are buff to deal with it. Who knows the DEVs could already have something ready sooner then later.

But you have to give killer players a chance to change.

  • The changes they made are to push killers away from camping and tunneling.

If killers are not willing to drop the camp/ tunnel gameplay and play the 12 hook program then buffs to survivors to help more with camping will be done.

And I'm sure there will be a massive nerf to camping if killers are not willing to change the way they play.

Why does Otz’s input matter so much to people that that’s the universal opinion no matter what he might say? Can we all form our own opinions?

It's easier to be a follower then a leader.

  • The changes were to push killers away from camping and tunneling. They want killers and survivors to interact more.

I'm pretty sure if killers still want to camp at 5 gens with these changes going live camping will get hit with a hard nerf.

If not become useless, but only time will tell

  • @cluxdx said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3016571#Comment_3016571

You're welcome to do the math if you want. Assuming my math is correct a survivor will gain roughly 5 meters on the killer during the on-hit speed boost and the remaining hit cooldown. It takes around 8.5 seconds to make up that distance, in which time the survivors can go an additional 34 meters before a hit. Score a BT bodyblock, and in the very worst case one of your other healthy teammates takes a hit, and there's your escape.

But again the speed boost the survivor gets after getting hit got a nerf, and they reduced the cooldown for successful basic attack.

Like I said you need to wait till this is release to see what it's like. All you are doing is jumping to conclusions.

  • @cluxdx said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3016544#Comment_3016544

It's the normal on-hit speed boost they're trying to proc by taking the hit with Endurance, same as if you go from healthy to injured. People already force proc BT all the time as it is, and buffing its duration makes that even easier to do.

I think you just need to wait and see what happens. You are over reacting

From what I have read with these changes taking a hit with BT is going to be a wrong move.

  • @cluxdx said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3016425#Comment_3016425

They will still gain the regular hit speed boost; that on-hit speed boost is just being nerfed 10%. It's still enough distance to make a pallet nine times out of ten, so what we're looking at is people bodyblocking the killer in order to force proc the Endurance effect, which makes the killer lose distance on two different people when they weren't even trying to tunnel.

Borrowed Time will now extend the duration of the Endurance effect of unhooked Survivors by 6/8/10 seconds and increase the movement speed bonus duration by 10 seconds for any Survivor you unhook. These effects will be cancelled if the unhooked Survivor performs a Conspicuous Action.

I don't know it still sounds like if the BT user wants to body block it not going to work out well from them.

I don't see any where in the BT change they get a speed boost for taking a hit. The speed bonus is to help them get the hell out of the area.

  • Next, we’ve reduced the cooldown for successful basic attacks by 10% (now 2.7 seconds, previously 3 seconds) and reduced the duration of the Survivor’s speed boost upon being hit by 10% (now 1.8 seconds, was 2 seconds). Moving forward, Survivors will gain slightly less distance upon being hit, making it more difficult for them to run long distances to a safe area.

Unless I don't understand this, but if the BT user body blocks wouldn't they lose their speed boost to get away.

So in other words if they body block they would be making a dumb play now.

But the point of these changes is to push killers away from camping and tunneling.

  • Well the changes are to push killers away from camping.

So my guess is if killers still want to camp with these changes going live the DEVs will have no choose, but to finally do a massive nerf to camping.

Honestly let them camp I want to hear them cry when it happens.

    cartman-south-park.gif

  • Or you could always not camp and tunnel and use the time to stop the gens from getting done.

Gens are slowed down just a little bit. Plus you kick them faster and take a little bit more off the progression.

They made the changes to push killers a way from having to feel like they have to camp and tunnel.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

Yeap. That's what I said. We're at the beginning stages of all of this. My guess is they're HOPING the changes will help people get downs easier and not feel the need to camp. And will probably address it more if camping is still dominate

Exactly it take time got to let it play out and see what happens.

I agree too if camping becomes to strong they do what needs to be done.

  • @CakeDuty said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3014964#Comment_3014964

I'm sure some killers won't feel the need to, I'm mostly talking about the killers whose gameplay is to get into a game and camp survivors aka Basement Bubba/Trapper/Hag. Also the best you get out of a free BT against a basic camping Killer is just a hook trade. Then you're just the one that's gonna end up camped instead.

Also a 5 second BT is not gonna stop a killer from singling you out, like the devs intended. They can wait 5 seconds and afterwards you're vulnerable to tunneling again. Despite receiving a double nerf, DS is still required to be run, if you wanna stand a chance against being tunneled.

I'm so frustrated cause I had hope for this update, the killer changes sound amazing, shorter cooldowns and longer gens by default, but survivors just get a budget BT, that's barely gonna make a difference against a killer than can count to 5 and that's it

Yeah I get it some will still camp no matter what, but they were a bunch on here saying if killers weren't getting gen rushed they wouldn't have to camp. Even some of them said they don't like to camp their forced to. So only time will tell just have to wait and see

I don't camp or tunnel I do like the changes.

I feel like I can now have a relaxed game without being forced to sweat just to get a 1k or 2k.

I doubt you can see every single situation from the hook, sometimes ppl are not doing gens cuz they are busy with other #########. For example if the Killer is keep juggleing around with each survivor to keep everyone busy and away from the hook. I have seen too many situations where ppl suicide cuz they think the others where not doing anything meanwhile the team was ACTUALLY busy. Also only cuz you hit struggle doesnt make you lose your game, do you also dc instantly as Killer if 3 gens pop before your first hook? Learn to get a hold of yourself dude

Also only cuz camping is lame to you doesnt mean it is griefing or trolling, it is still still a strategy even if you dont acknowledge that, you are not that special to define that I am sorry.

Yes you are right I'm blind I can't see my teams. They are those green yellowish looking blobs moving around? Right?

No I don't DC I'll try to get what points I can get until the last gen is done then open the gates. I don't camp I play fair 12 hook program.

Don't put words in my month I didn't say grieving or trolling I said it's lame I'm entitled to my own opinion.

I took a break from this game, but really I should of also took a break from these forums too.

how can you compare those 2? The one thing is literally griefing your whole team and the other is a strategy to win your game? Dafuq

    Because camping is lame

If my teammates are doing gens I'll stay on hook to keep the bonehead killer company while my team gets an easy escape.

If they are not doing ######### at 5 gens while the killer dances around me like their some special skilled player I will suicide on hook.

You can't force players to stay in a losing match.

1 … 9 10 11 12 13 … 71
