  • Gen regression stacking on high tier killers is the biggest problem right now.

  • @ChuckingWong said:

I dont see how its anyone's fault but BHVR.

Had a match where there was someone with 5800 hours, 200 hours, 74 hours, and a private. None of them were grouped up either.

The fact that they see no issues with this is crazy to me. This feels like something that sitting in the queue for one minute longer would likely solve. Instant matches aren't fun when they are slaughter fests.

  • Killers camping in the endgame is generally not a problem. Instadown killers being able to camp with zero counterplay is a legitimate problem. The best approach being to run out of the gate while your teammate dies and having zero way to save them is not good game design. The double standards are ridiculous in this community. Someone was mentioning the old DS debate and it's so true.

Killer getting a guaranteed kill because it's literally impossible to unhook=totally fair.

DS creating unwinnable situations in the endgame=OMG PLEASE NERF BEHAVIOR.

Tell me why one is fair and the other isn't. I'd love to see the mental gymnastics involved in this.

  • I've definitely seen a huge uptick in tunneling. That DS buff had better be insane.

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

    Because there are 35 killers.

I just saw a couple Chuckys yesterday and haven't seen a Wesker in like a week. Just how it goes sometimes.

I think it's really this simple. Also a fact that not every killer is going to be Wesker where they are played far above the average.

  • @Starrseed said:

maybe its time to give perks something like a point system. every perk has points asigned and now you cant make to strong combos cause your points are not enough.

that could also be used as a means of balance since the point distribution could be changed rather then the perks.

as an exampel you have four categories 1point to 4 point. you can use one perk of every category to get to ten points or you can use two 4 point perks and one 2 point or two 1 point perks.

This is absolutely what they should do. They'd probably consider it too much work and it will never happen however. I can imagine how much argument there would be over how they classify the strengths of different perks. It would definitely make the game healthier if implemented well. It wouldn't feel like you are losing to perks more than the player which is currently the case.

  • @Yharwick said:

I mean they just nerfed STBFL and Sloppy and buffed Grim Embrace, if that's not a signal they want killers relying on gen regression and slowdown idk what is.

Not saying I agree with that mind you but seeing the balance changes lately it seems unlikely either of those perks are going anywhere.

The current meta is silly and bordering on eruption levels of absurdity. If the killer wants to stack four slowdowns in the current meta then there really isn't anything you can do unless your team has comp level efficiency. There's just so much gen blocking that you can't ever get anything done. I know because I use four slowdowns when I play killer. The only game i've lost in my last 20 matches was against a cheater who I found out just got banned. It's pretty much impossible to lose if you play in the sweatiest way imaginable. I think it will get nerfed but it will probably take them another six months to do it. At the very least something needs to be done about DMS. I think this specific perk is the root of most problems with the slowdown meta. There are just too many no win scenarios that you can't really counter because of this perk.

  • RPD is big enough that you could realistically make several new maps out of it. It'd be cool but I don't expect it to ever happen.

  • I already have everything unlocked + thousands of cakes. When I argue for more bloodpoints I am doing so for newer survivors who don't have everything unlocked. Bloodpoints on survivor are already significantly lower compared to killers and I don't understand why Behavior hasn't done anything to make it more balanced. It's worse for a newer player who doesn't have the resources that I do. It makes the grind seem overwhelming when you load into a match as a new survivor and only get 10-15k while the killer has 30k.

  • I am not really losing much but I have noticed more cheaters lately. I had a very obvious one last night in one of my Xeno games. One of those people you chase on an indoor map and never seem to catch. They were definitely faster than normal, could turn scratch marks off, and seemed to be teleporting when they went around corners. In the end game they literally disappeared. Level 0 Steam account too.

  • Huntress buff needs to be reverted.

  • I don't really see this that frequently. Maybe 1/10 times when someone gives up. It's usually games that are lost causes in my experience.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

Overcome should work on an Endurance hit. It'll make it more useful against tunneling.

This is the only change it needs IMO.

  • Nearly every huntress i've gone against runs the hatchet addons and just camps more than ever. They don't ever need to reload so now she is even better at camping. This was always the most obnoxious playstyle for huntress.

  • Played one match so far. Killer tunneled out a random Leon at four gens. Entire team immediately gave up. Typical solo queue game.

Edit : Up to five matches now. 4/5 matches involved hard tunneling at five gens. A bit higher than usual. All killers running 3-4 slowdowns.

  • It's funny that a team with Hens and three comp players can only get to 171 wins in a row and even have their streak ended by a TRICKSTER. Yet people STILL try to say this game is survivor sided. Meanwhile there are people who genuinely don't think a blight getting almost 2000 wins in a row is a problem.

  • Once in probably 500+ games. The problem is your teammates have no idea what the meter is on so it never works. If people could see it on the HUD then maybe they would stop hovering around the hook like morons.

  • @Senaxu said:

It's quite entertaining to read how the feedback here is that the new killer is too weak, even from more experienced players.

Well, in Dead by Daylight it often takes even longer than in other games for the average player to really understand the potential of a character.

The new killer will rank in the A+ range after people have learned to play.

A 115% ms range (aoe) killer that has both slowdown and map control built in. Top Tier. People have to learn it first.

Edit: The visual design of the killer is fantastic. The sounds and animations and chase music are also great. I'm impressed.

It's funny because he already has the fourth highest kill rate in the game according to nightlight. People will say "well survivors don't know how to counter him yet". To which I say killers haven't had time to master him yet either. I personally don't think he's weak at all. There's a huge difference between a skilled Unknown and a guy who can't aim to save his life. I've run into quite a bit of both and I can definitely say he isn't weak when the person playing him is actually good.

  • I'm all for this but I do see one major problem. Sweats will dodge any lobby where their teammates aren't running a full meta build. So you will either get the sweatiest survivor team ever or a team of meme survivors and total noobs. There will be no in between. It would make the game better for survivors who care about winning I guess. I know for a fact I would win more matches if I didn't have teammates running self care and distortion. I think it's fine because survivors deserve agency over who they play with. I don't fault anyone who doesn't want to play with people who run meme perks. I'll be 100% honest and say that I would absolutely dodge meme survivors.

  • I just gave up on trying to win. All I do is meme around with a flashlight now. Game is way too hard in solo queue to take it seriously. Might as well find other ways to entertain yourself.

  • I enjoy playing against him which is rare for a modern DBD killer. He isn't pathetically weak and the counterplay exists. PLEASE don't give him a bunch of unnecessary buffs that make him unbearable to go against.

  • It will 100% get buffed. Just wait for the patch. Right now it's completely useless for anything other than meme purposes. Playing a 3v1 while someone sits in the basement will never be good unless the perk has an enormous reward attached to it. The current effect is not enough to justify using it.

  • It's crazy that they are considering nerfing a perk that requires you to play the entire match with one less perk than you would have otherwise. It also prevents you from using your exhaustion perks in the end game. The trade off is already there. Adrenaline is not overpowered and already has downside. Just more nerfing perks for no reason other than they're popular.

  • The pig buff is definitely noticeable. I was getting a lot of hits that I never could have gotten in the past. She isn't very strong but you definitely succeeded in making her anti loop better. Clown buff is nice as well. Overall I think both of these changes were great. The huntress changes are completely unnecessary and I still have no idea why you guys buffed her. Her kill rate is low because she has a high skill requirement to play well. Not to mention the high number of huntress players who meme instead of playing seriously. The types who go for orbital strike hatchets and what not. She doesn't need any buffs.

When you are in high MMR normally the real game begins at 2 gens. Most likely 3 gens pop before your first hook. Especially on a good survivor map.

Everyone knows the MMR in this game doesn't do anything. Please stop acting like there is a super secret high MMR where you play against nothing but god tier survivors. If this were the case then some of the more ridiculous killer win streaks would not exist. We even know from statistics that four man SWFs at high MMR die more than they escape.

  • Please keep talking about this. I don't know if I can handle running into another S or A tier killer stacking four slowdowns. It's ALWAYS the strongest killers who do this too. Spirits, Nurses, Blights, etc. Like how many advantages do you need to beat a solo queue team? If this game isn't ever going to implement strict matchmaking then they need to do something about these absurd builds that you stand no chance against.

  • No. I would escape more if I did. I will almost always die to save my random teammates. Just running out the gate is boring and I don't know what people find fun about it. I have everything unlocked and plenty of every item so it's not like I need the bloodpoints from escaping.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Blight's genuine immunity from any meaningful nerf lasting a decent amount of time is genuinely mind-boggling.

Someone high up on the dev team 100% plays Blight.

  • I really don't know why they even made this system. Facecamping was dead the moment they removed hook grabs. Why did they put all this work into a full system that doesn't actually do anything? I've seen it trigger once in 500+ games and that was because a friendly killer intentionally triggered it. Seems like a waste of resources. It would have made more sense to make a system that makes it possible to unhook against camping instadown killers like bubba, billy, etc. This remains a problem and there is still no counterplay that doesn't result in someone dying.

  • git gud only applies to survivor players. We have to hand hold people who can't play a high skill ceiling killer well.

  • You should never get looped for 3-4 gens unless you are playing as a bottom five M1 killer like Freddy against actual strong survivors.

  • Are you on NA east by any chance? There is a wraith on NA East who literally does nothing but send people to RPD and slug with knock out. It will keep happening until Behavior does something about this.

  • Fill in the deadzones.

  • Grim Embrace is a major problem. The time it takes away if you get full value is the equivalent of the time it takes to do three generators. This isn't even counting if you add DMS to the build.

    U got:

    basekit bt

u got anti 3gen cuz most of the suvs are not able to notice in which order u have to do gens

    u got OTR

u got DS (which is still strong if u move near a window and go there down on purpose

u got strong maps with pallets over paletts

u got the game/palett city since 3 years without any rework

u got buckle up/for the people

    u got deja vu

    u got adre

u got the screen that u can see what ur mates are doing

    shall i continue?😂

not forget: hook graps are deletet cuz suvs said: its unfair that killer grap me while on my screen it wasnt a grap whereas killers has the same problem on the other side (jits that should have been a grap)

so they took the grabs and its only a disadvantage for the killer

so please dont try to say: suvs got a bad time

I love how people mention a killer sided map like it's a benefit to survivors. Maybe if the killer is a bottom 5 M1 killer.

  • Can someone give me a valid reason why solo survivors shouldn't have kindred basekit? It doesn't give any sort of advantage that SWFs don't already have because of comms. Arguing against this is just arguing to keep solo at a disadvantage for no real reason. Kindred would prevent a lot of situations where no one goes for a save. It would also help teams approach camping situations better.

I would also really like the anti camp to show on the HUD. I've had a few instances where I could have unhooked myself but my teammates just hovered around the hook instead of moving away. The system is useless if people don't know the progress. Once again this is something that a SWF can already do.

According to this forum, all survivors are bad. When BHVR massively buffed killer several times and revealed that the killrate was 60%, it was still because the whole survivor playerbase was bad, not because of the buffs. When Otz achieved a 30+ winstreak with every killer and random perks, it was because he must have secretly thrown games off-stream to lower his MMR and play against bad survivors. I've even argued with somebody on this forum who claimed Dan (former Team Eternal's captain) - is a bad survivor, after someone else shared a clip where he got mindgamed.

OP thinks survivors are superhumans with perfect reflexes, perfect awareness, perfect information, they know where the killer is at all times, what every teammate does, where every pallet and vault is located, they have practiced every loop in the game several times before, otherwise they are bad.

I'm pretty sure OP would consider anybody who doesn't run this tile for 5 gens to be a bad player, even though he wouldn't be able to run it perfectly as survivor either.

I think most people on this forum are pretty reasonable. It's just the same 4-5 users who constantly post the same "survivor bad" content. I can't tell if they're serious or if it's some form of elaborate trolling.

  • Even Hens333 (a legacy billy main with experience in the comp scene) thinks Billy is overtuned. If 10k hour players who main a killer think something is overtuned then that's usually the case. I will say without shame that I am done with the new Hillbilly. If I never played against him again it would be too soon. I've definitely noticed a big uptick in my teammates immediately giving up against him.

  • The problem is the amount of slowdown that is used now. Every game is just four slowdown perks AND tunneling on top of it. Maybe sometimes you get three slowdowns and an info perk. The amount of time you lose to grim embrace alone is INSANE if you actually add it up. I think it's the equivalent of the time it takes to do around three gens if you assume three survivors are on different gens. Now add Pain Res, DMS, and Corrupt on top of this. Does no one else think this is ridiculous? How is any normal team supposed to beat a high tier killer that runs all of this? It's not like these perks deactivate once someone has been tunneled out. You can still get value out of them in a 3v1.

  • This is my experience except replace Wesker with Billy. I hate Billy more than Skull Merchant right now.

  • @sinkra said:

A dev recently said they are very happy with the 60% kill rate and have no plans to change it.

They also said they weren't planning to do anything else to Blight shortly before announcing more changes to him. Plans can and do change.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I just wish people didn't give up so easily just because its Killer they don't like or the Killer gets them first/fast, etc. That's my biggest problem with SoloQ atm.

Do you really blame my teammates who gave up in my last match? 4,948 hour Blight running Pain Res, UW, Corrupt, and Deadlock. Like what are we supposed to do against that?

  • The two people I played with both quit shortly after they buffed killers. So I am stuck playing solo queue. I mostly play killer like 70/30 these days. I can only stomach solo queue for so long. Survivor is just awful right now. A huge chunk of your escapes are lucky hatch escapes or because the killer was feeling nice. If the killer tunnels and brings four slowdowns then you just lose. Too many games are lost before the game even starts and it doesn't feel good at all. I'm not exaggerating when I say that every killer I get matched with runs a full meta build. It doesn't matter how many games I lose. The matchmaking is literally non existent.

  • They already solved the biggest issue with camping when they removed hook grabs. Then they wasted development resources on making that utterly useless anti-facecamp system which never needed to exist. These days camping is successful mostly because of a lack of information. Something as simple as basekit kindred for solo players would solve this. It would tell healthy survivors "Oh I should go trade now".

  • The turrets are just tedious to use. My biggest issue with Xeno is how incredibly weak turrets are if you bring the right addons. I've played close to 100 games as Xeno at this point so I know from first hand experience how strong star map+emergency helmet are.

  • @Zaydin said:

Given letting yourself die on the first hook is throwing the game to the Killer simply due to having a tantrum because you got downed.

Had a Dwight do exactly that when we had three generators done.

I have someone give up on first down earlier with the final 3 gens at around 80% each. Of course that snowballed into a loss. Some of the things people give up over are crazy.

  • They're bad at the game. The only reason you would dodge a P100 in 2024 is a lack of confidence which stems from being bad. People who do this want what they perceive as an easy match against less experienced players. They see a P100 and think "wow this guy might actually beat me and damage my fragile ego". I agree with the general sentiment that P100s are not significantly better anyway. I have multiple P100 survivors and I am only decent at the game. I'm hardly a DBD god. I think it's also worth noting that a lot of people have P100s in this game and just choose not to play on them. When my lobby receives a lot of dodges I will often see my teammates switch to a lower prestige character so we can actually get a killer who stays. I do this at times as well.

How would you do the endgame chat on console with a controller?

It's not even confirmed to be a buff and BHVR does not have the best track record with reworks right now...

I'm hoping they make it multi use where it only deactivates after someone else has been hooked. The reactions on this forum would be hilarious.

  • The system is useless but it's mostly a solo queue issue in my experience. The issue with the anti facecamp is your team has no way to know how far along it is. This leads to survivors hovering around the hook and the system not working as a result. People would make smarter plays if the anti facecamp showed up on the HUD. I do think the grace period is unnecessary though. It gives the killer way too much breathing room. The system is lenient enough without it.
