I love BBQ and I will not give it up. There is no goal to reach. It will remain a perk that I use unless something better comes along.
Spoiler Alert: Nothing better will come along.

3/10 bait post.

At any cost.

I killed a team of Dwelfs with me burning Bloody Streamers... and them trying to be friendly with me. This feels more bittersweet than Thanos's at what cost line. I killed friendly Dwelfs.... in cold blood.
I'm sorry Santa Clown, your workshop has a few less workers. My Killer adepts are once again done though!
At ANY cost.

0/10 bait post. Overabundance of salt, no substance.

1/10 bait post. Salt is adequate but devoid of anything else.

Not quite Jane, but more than Meg.

Gotta go with Clown. It’s the first chase theme that is actually disturbing in a way
Clown's chase music is a bop. I love it.
Also, Blight's chase music is pretty rad.

Man, this...this is a quality bait post.
Solid 7/10.

I usually just take those "it doesn't take skill/the game is too easy" comments as the condescending elitist tripe they sound like and move on. Not worth giving any air.
-
I hate seeing "Entity Displeased" when I've played well.
Don't like it, Entity? Go get your own damned carryout next time.
-
I can pull you off the hook, but you're asking a bit much on the pallet and flashlight saves. Most times, the Killer is already on-guard against them.
-
Bait post. 2/10 effort.

Otz balances out a lot of the toxicity in this community. He's a great teacher and I've learned a lot from his videos. Also, he engages with his viewers.
But the awesome thing is how he'll teach while he's playing. His skill with predicting player behavior is cool to watch in action.
-
It'll be fine. Nothing to see here.
-
I played against Twins a lot right after the first released. I rarely see them now.
-
Tunneling gens is okay, tunneling players is not.
-
Killer: Wraith. I actually hated Wraith when I first started playing him because I didn't understand his mechanic. I wrote him off as being lame and played some other killers. A month ago, I watched a friend play him and saw some potential. Then I watched some Otz videos about how Wraith works and learned that he's add-on dependent and how his basekit was meant to work.
Opinion changed. Now I really enjoy him. Once I learn a bit more about Blight, though, I will probably switch to my main just because I love his backstory and the whole pinballing mechanic.
Survivor: Elodie Rakoto. I love her backstory and I've played a character similar to her in TTRPGs, so I couldn't pass up playing her. Also, I loved the scream. I hate that it got changed.
-
Freddy, Myers, and Huntress. I've run into the most toxic builds for each of them nearly every time I encounter them.
-
There's a comic book called "Hexwives" and when I started playing this game, I liked seeing all of the different hexes.
So I went with Hex_Husband for fun.

It doesn't take long to notice the elephant of all perks on either side: BBQ. A pay-to-win perk on a licensed DLC. Used on every killer for the tremendous advantage and value. This perk is literally spammed in every game. It should be a HEX perk or nerfed to lose the aura reading.
BBQ was released when survivors were much stronger along with maps. Maps were also easier to hide. Survivor perks are always nerfed only when considered being used on a good SWF. The same logic and fair balancing should apply to killers. To beat a good killer you must work on gens for every second possible. You cannot spend your entire match looking and hiding in lockers because the killer will have a huge upper hand as this is the only counterplay provided to stop the aura. He most likely has Ruin so the gen is losing progress when you leave it. Too much advantage for a perk.
There is another reason why being a HEX would be an excellent change to BBQ. A killer that camps can still be awarded BBQ stacks if he uses NOED or when saves occur. He is awarded for the thing the perk was originally designed to prevent in the first place! If the perk is a HEX perk the killer will be in a race to hook as many different survivors as possible before the totem is destroyed. This will create pressure on the killer to guard totems, gens, and hook survivors in the process instead of camping and being awarded for it with a perk.
If it is not a HEX perk it needs to lose the aura reading because it gives too much value for one perk alone. This perk has been overpowered and abused by high mobility killers way too long.
Hex: No Thanks.

I like Dark Sense and Small Game quite a bit.

You're entitled to your opinion, just like everyone.
I'd argue that the Trickster is a breath of fresh air because of how normal he looks, that's the niche, that's what makes him unique. That's the scary thing. He's an incredibly handsome pop star who is arguably just as evil as the Doctor, perhaps even more so. That's the fear factor. He could be on the same subway car as you, sitting next to you, and you wouldn't suspect him at all. If you don't like that type of horror, c'est la vie, so be it. I think it's genius.
This. Just this.
-
I don't think anyone is against fun, but these changes aren't fun. They're just not well thought-out at all.
-
You can hear when he goes for his static blast. If you're outside his terror radius, stay there and wait for it pop. Once it does, you're good to move. Don't try to play around pallets with him. He seemed OP when I first started, but more interaction with him has shown the counterplay options.
-
Survivor: I am a tithing member of the Church of Spine Chill. I also like Borrowed Time.
KIller: BBQ and Pop.
-
Is it stealing if it came from a cheater? Scales balanced, imo.

I love the Trickster's backstory and kit. I had zero interest in the Twins but I really want to play the knew killer. His perks are a lot of fun, too.
I'll give the new survivor some time to grow on me.

I like the idea of the Killer and Survivor being aware of each other outside of licensed DLCs. I think more of it would be cool to see.

I’m getting really bored of playing killer, chasing survivors away from a generator, only for them to go right back to it forcing me to have to chase them away again. They just keep tunnelling the generator until it is completed and it’s frankly toxic, anti-fun behaviour. Please try to make the game fun for everyone involved and spread your repairs around all the generators evenly. Thank you.
This. All of this.
Also, the ability of so many to miss the sarcasm here makes this thread even better.

Well, you can go play Fortnite if you want. I'll stick with DBD.

Why do we care what Fortnite gets? Game doesn't interest me, so I'll be over here chillin' and killin'

Do you know they have the game where the survivors cannot tell the add-ons of the killer it would be nice if the entity blocks the killers view of what the survivors are carrying at the beginning of the match. They only way he knows is to see them in the match. That way the killer kid not just put Franklin’s on because he see someone with a key or with other gear just my opinion what does everyone else think?
For reasons stated above, this is a terrible idea. Survivors can hide items (like keys) at the start of the match only to pick them up later.
It's fine the way it is.
-
I just had a game where 3 survivors escaped, but one died to the EGC after trying to loop me.
Post-game:
Salty Survivor: Doctor toxic. Only [BAD WORD] closes the hatch.
Nevermind that the others escaped or that this person screwed around during the EGC. The Killer is bad for not just rolling over.
Survivors really do just want to play against AI, but they'd just rage at the AI in post-game chat if they get 4K'd.
-
What if it's two new Survivors and we haven't seen the Killer yet?

@AChaoticKiller said:
If we are getting a singer/pop star or whatever I have a good feeling that the new killer is going to be related to that or just sound in a way.
Like the killer could be a crazed stalker who killed to reach her or even just something related to sound like a banshee, god i want a banshee as a killer I think that would be cool as hell.
I actually dig this idea. Would be cool to see.

Wraith. Myers gets served by teenagers every time he shows up. Wraith will decloak like a Romulan Warbird and smash his skull.
Depends on who gets the cowshed.

Kills. I'm playing a KILLER. Hooks are great and all, but kills tell me more about the progression of my skill than hooking everyone (but having them escape) does.

1/10 bait post. Those seem to be OP's specialty.

This isn't controversial so much as just a really bad comparison.

be within range - yea let me go out of my way to go to the killer to make him easier to find me regardless and put myself in danger, all the while not doing anything and the main objective of getting gens done.
hide in locker- because its so convenient that a locker is always around to go into , nevermind that you leave scratch marks if its not within walking range in time. also wasting time instead of doing gens.
hide behind a gen- your aura is highlighted brighter than the gen , genius. any half decent killer will still see you. and you can only hide behind a gen at a particular angle so that lessens your chances.
walk one way for four seconds , then turn around - you're still being seen , genius. wasting time again at that for something stupid.
distortion- because im a scaredy-cat that needs a perk to make up for the killers crutch , when i should be able to just hide without perks.
kindred- see distortion
spine chill- see kindred
premonition - youre that desperate of trying to prove me wrong that you bring up that outdated, completely redundant & useless joke of a perk
im not , nor are any good survivors sacrificing their own loadout to accommodate for their paranoia of the killers crutch .
''this game is barely about hiding anymore'' - because the games not balanced and doesn't know what to be. don't blame the fault of the game on me and call it ''whining and moaning'' . if you wanna use your crutch own up to being bad at the game instead of trying to accuse me of it. its a crutch perk and some butthurt alpha-keyboard warrior wont change that. get good.
Imagine telling someone to "get good" while complaining about counters to BBQ.
If you're not good at the game, then say that and go.

"to play so damn sweaty"
I still want to know when a word that means "to put effort into" became a pejorative insult.
Apparently, all people want to do anymore is "meme".

This sounds like a lot of "sky-is-falling" negative doomsaying. Time will tell, but it won't tell the story you're selling.
