  • Honestly I’d rather they not change it. A change that involves charge time or flight speed would drastically damage the muscle memory of the people who play her. Her flight speed is on a curve so if you throw it in between low and high charge it can fly at 30m/s and so on.

I believe the last real change she needs is base kit shiny pin because there is still zero reason why she is slower than walking nurse when holding a hatchet and is beyond outdated. There’s a reason why shiny pin has an insane pick rate lol. And then after that I don’t think she would really need anything else, she would be comfortably mid A Tier and slightly better on some of the worse maps for her.

Xeno is 115% when holding, Plague is 110% when holding, PP Head is 110% when holding, Trickster is 96% when holding, Slinger is 92% when holding, Artist is 92% when holding and Huntress is 77% when holding. It’s outdated and should not be that way, she doesnt match any other killer on the roster and has her own special slow speed. Honestly her and Slinger should be 115% as I believe no killer should be 110% without a movement speed ability, but that’s for a different day.

  • Dark arrogance fails in every way. Bamboozle is better because it blocks the window entirely and superior anatomy is fast enough to be able to actually score a hit. It fails to stand on its own as a perk.

Weave attainment also fails to stand on its own as its main use is aura reading and is easily countered by picking it up. Survivors also get an icon showing they are being affected by weave attunements aura reading. They will learn to 99 or instantly pick up their items and that’s it.

Languid Touch is actually pretty solid for negating every exhaustion perk except Sprint Burst.

Dark arrogance needs a complete rework because we do not need another window vault perk. Weave attunement needs to make it to where survivors can’t pick up their items for 10 seconds minimum.

No it was a compromise to removing rapid flashlight clicks (was a post on the forums about someones cousin getting an epileptic episode thanks to flashlight macros so it got patched shortly after). People complained that when they messed up the timing they couldn't let go then click again if they shined it too early so they added a .2 buffer to the flashlight then buffed it to .4 at a later time.

Clearly me and the other person have no clue what we are talking about. I sure I remember it changing because of the server client changes. But that makes more sense tbh.

What is Huntress like on indoor maps such as Midwitch? I imagine hitting hatchets in hallways is easier than if the Survivors are out in the open? I don't think I've ever played against her there in my over 5k hours.

Out of all 7 indoor maps, that one is the best for her. Hallways definitely make for some easy shots depending on how survivors run it and they can duck in and out of rooms as they run down the halls. And you will almost never catch survivors in a hallway as it is very easy to run room to room with minimal time in the hallways. But if you do catch them in one without a room to go into it is essentially a death sentence.

I would prefer any outdoor map as they allow for shots on unaware survivors (something that never happens on midwhich) orbitals and arc shots over small loops (which a lot of survivors never expect) I would say Lerrys by far is the worst map possible for her and is a nightmare if the survivor team is even average.

Nice revisionist history there broseph that change was made as a compromise for removing double locker saves.

Removing something that’s broken, weird and has no counter play equals making anything flashy related skill less? That’s not why they did it by the way lol, so you got your facts wrong too😂

They did it because server lag.

  • NoEd next prolly, then bamboozle, and maybe DMS after that!

  • They will never do an indoor only map again because it hurts way too many killers. And when rhey tried to buff those killers to make them better on indoor maps, people complained until it got reversed.

You can fully expect to never see another indoor only map again and personally I hope there never is another one. They look awesome but they gut about 1/6th of the roster.

  • OTR is definitely dummy strong. If someone bodyboocks with BT just tunnel them out lol. BT is meant to be used to get away from a tunneling killer, if they use it to protect a teammate then just punish them for it. I do it all the time lol! You will get a lot of hate for it though😂

  • Bhvrs unique killers they have been making are standouts and honestly most of them could have their own movies/ franchises.

But by far my favorite part of this game is The Huntress. Literally the best and most iconic slasher ever made by a video game company and 100% deserves to have her own movie and franchise.

Excellent lore, excellent design, compelling character, awesome and fun power. The fact of her idle animation being swaying back and forth while humming the lullaby is absolutely amazing! 10/10 character who will hopefully become bigger than just a iconic DBD slasher!

  • I’ve actively slid off of survivors who were just running normally. Very strange honestly.

I agree, we can move past the relevancy.

Now this is something I can understand! You like auras since it helps your chosen play style that you enjoy. Regardless of what people think about a perk or play style, I do feel everyone should play to enjoy themselves.

I apologize, I need to clarify. Lightborn is a free info perk in and of itself. Giving up another perk/addon/whatever is a choice players need to make. Chances are you're stronger taking the gen slowdown anyway. But for this discussion's sake, we're talking about lightborn and Distortion. And between the two, Lightborn is still the more loaded perk in terms of power weight and activation.

Distortion can run out of tokens. Yeah, not often. But it can. Lightborn… cannot. It will always be there 100%. And I'd like to ask since you're a huntress main. You really don;t chew through Distortion stacks with an aura build.. on huntress? She's the strongest killer to chew through stacks of Distortion from my experience and many other's I've asked regarding this topic and huntress.

Trapper gets dunked on regardless what he does. I was just commenting on learning something new regarding the OG. Love learning new things about him still :)

In closing, given distortion and lightborn are both similar in how powerful they are at shutting down perks/builds/addons, Distortion can still be dealt with. Lightborn cannot. Lightborn has zero counter play. And I know how much you killers like ranting and raving about how tactics and perks need to how counter play. But I'd really rather see both leave the game.

Boring is relative. Distortion is boring to you. Killers needing aura builds are boring to me. Just a big basket of leaking eggs, we are lol

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3731382#Comment_3731382

Also, I know a few ppl say "Oh you killers don't need info, just use game sense" Oh you mean that thing the game doesn't even teach you? The thing that you have to learn on your own. Like instead of telling ppl this, how about you try to teach them by providing videos on the topic or even making videos yourself?

Or, stop begging and trying to make others feel guilty for your laziness and learn the game yourself? 1400 hours huh? And if you're going to say 'I mean for newer killers', then I repeat: learn the game yourself. It's the best and imo the most fulfilling way.

Like instead of this sort of thing, how about you just go youtube search. There's far too many up already of the same things, teaching this, that, anything. Find your favorite content creator and go nuts. Its all literally there already.

Im tired of these players who think they are so good and will punch down at lower-skill players instead of trying to teach them to be
    better.

Me too. It's some of the saddest humans in the community. :(

If survivors have a single brain cell they will use lockers to save distortion stacks. I made the mistake of using two aura reading perks and 2 slowdowns perks and after 9 hooks got zero aura reads at all. After switching to 4 aura reads I would say I comfortably don't get a my first aura read until about 4 minutes into the game if all 4 survivors have distortion.

This is a hot take apparently but I do think killer perks should be stronger than survivor perks by a lot. Considering the fact they are the power role and only get 4 perks compared to the potential 16 perks survivors have if they coordinate in SWF/ pre game lobby chat. So I don't believe light born is overpowered at all and is actually a huge determent to bring it because once survivors know you have light born they wont attempt saves and will just crush gens. I actually believe bringing Light born helps survivors win because they are no longer wasting time and become more gen efficient.

I haven't used light born and never will as it is one of the most worthless perks in this game as you can prevent 99% of saves by facing a wall or doing a 180 flick pickup, unless of course they are using the ridiculously broken BGP. I dont blame killers for bringin light born though after they removed the flashy timing and it requires zero skill to get saves anymore. Just slap on a flashy and BGP and boom you get free and easy saves no skill needed!

Ill never forget the first time i put it on! 4 Saves back to back and the killer literally couldn't do anything at all! I just told my buddy to go down out in the open and that was it. So they ended up slugging us all to death but I didn't blame them.

I disagree about its relevancy, but you do you. Its completely unrelated. You're just picking a perk that's weak and saying it should be equal to, apparently, any other perk. BHVR has trouble designing, but picking one thats crap and saying everything else should be modeled around it is not something I can support in terms of design philosophy.

If all 4 survivors bring their items and builds for blinding, then your Lightborn would be multiplied by 4. And again, the killer can choose to bring Lightborn if they see items in the lobby. Distortion is solely assuming anything aura will be relevant.

Distortion still has tokens that can be chewed through faster than they can generate. Lightborn simply fricken exists.

Can't say anything about the addons as survivors can't really get extra things like that. But for the record, if we did, Lightborn would counter it.

I experimented last night to see if distortion denies Trapper his aura from a caught survivor. It indeed does, and if they cant escape before the 10 seconds, it chews through another one. The OG gets stronger and stronger.

Im sure we could go on and on with our choice points, but regardless perks need to stop being nerfed, and others brought up, not down like you're suggesting, imho. All it seems to do is depress half the base, one way or another. One could argue that going the other direction, buffing up weaker perks, would still only bless half the base, but I'd wager it wouldn't be alongside frustration/anger/etc.

I really just want the game to be fun again. And the killer getting free info on everyone's whereabouts, regardless if its overblown info or not, isn't fun or thrilling.

I can't believe you can't see the relevancy as it's blatant but oh well, I give up trying to explain that lol. Aura reading isn't fun to you but it is the most fun thing for me because snipes and orbitals are the main reason why I can still play this game 6-8 hours a day still.

It's absolutely not even close to free info either as you give up gen slowdown/ chase help perks just to see where they are. Knowing the location of a survivor is worthless if you aren't good enough to catch them. I run 4 aura perks 24/7 on Huntress and while I do win the majority of matches, all gens are usually done in less than 8 minutes. I even had a match the other day where I got 5 hooks in 4 minutes and they finished all the gens 2 minutes later.

Aura reading perks are overblown and really only insanely OP on Nurse, Blight, Billy and Oni. Trapper with 4 aura perks will get dunked on at mid to high MMR no contest. You only run out of distortion fast if you don't ever engage in a chase with killer and don't know how to use lockers to save tokens which is a painfully simple strategy to do. On top of being able to tell your SWF exactly what perks the killer has so even if they don't have distortion they can negate aura reads by hiding behind a gen or in a locker.

The perk is way overtuned, plain and simple; on top of being the epitome of a boring perk. I would argue the most boring perk in the game on the survivor side.

Pebble isn't an aura perk. How is this relevant?

Instead of changing distortion, lets just bring Light born up to Distortion level and put Light born on a token system as well. No killer should get free value from anything. No survivor should get free value from anything. Should these rules apply to perks and items that shut down perks and items?

Aura builds and regression/gen speed builds make this game suck absolute ass. Its the biggest thing people mostly argue about. Why not just axe them and Make the Game Great Again®

If all you're seeing are those complaints, we are definitely playing different games. But I like your suggestion lol, 6 perk killers and only 2 perk copies. I'd try this game mode!

Also do you stream? I'd like to watch some good huntress stuff :)

It’s relevant because pebble is an incredibly weak perk that has a harsher requirement to gain than a literal god tier aura reading denial perk. So if pebble has such a harsh requirement then distortion should as well.

While yes Lightborn stops 7 perks and 4 items. Distortion counter 23 perks (literally triple) and 52 add ons. So lightborn blocks 11 things meanwhile Distortion blocks 75 things.

  • I would rather generators stay at 80 seconds and remove gen regress/ progress perks entirely. And make tool boxes for sabo only.

If survivors bring Gen perks and toolboxes they’ll cook. If they don’t then they get cooked. They need to make it to where survivors and killers don’t feel the need to bring anything, and can bring what they want.

  • Why does Pebble not recharge in chase but Distortion does? Is Pebble considered stronger than Distortion?😂

Distortion should either recharge in chase only or not in chase at all like stakeout, instead of both.

People complain about 4 slowdown, 4 aura read and now I’ve seen people complaining about 4 vault perks. How about we give killers 6 perk slots and make it to where they can only have a max of two of each type?

Must be nice to have teammates that can do well timed pallet saves. Low MMR Solo Q is everyone looking out for themselves or if you're "lucky", Survivors taking hits and trying to sabo for no sensible reason and then instantly going down (points for effort I guess, but please don't be this guy).

DBD is not really a team game for Survivor players outside of high MMR or a SWFs, so I don't think maps should be balanced as if it's this way for everybody.

I’m in no way saying it gets the save even half of the time. It’s just having it as a potential option. The threat of a potential pallet save. Better to go down on the unsafe pallet and have the killer waste time checking the area than to throw it and immediately go down after and gaining nothing at all.

Unless of course you have Lithe in which case an unsafe pallet can be god tier by getting you to be able to Lithe away. No pallet is useless, simple.

  • @Pulsar said:

most likely, if you are seeing pallet saves on either side routinely

Considering there is a perk that allows a player to cross the entire map that is very popular among my SWF and every other SWF on top of having zero counter play except for slugging. It’s very common for people to attempt to pallet save.

We must be playing different games after all because people attempt saves at least half of all pick up attempts. And when it’s me and my SWF we attempt saves 90% of the time.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3731134#Comment_3731134

    Can't recall hearing it before.

    Certainly a…strong take.

If using pallets for pallet saves is a strong take I think we are playing an insanely different game 😂

  • @Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3731134#Comment_3731134

Definitely is. Unsafe pallets are there for other survivors to get a save? Im not discounting it, but that's a strong take. Maybe I missed it in a past BHVR post, which is totally possible.

It is the most obvious use for them lmao. Do people really not know that 8 years into this game? There are god pallets, normal good pallets and 1-2 unsafe pallets on the map. If you drop those unsafe rare pallets you are literally wasting them and buying zero time for the team. You’ll get hit either way so it would be zero iq to drop them.

Especially with the advent of Background player it takes a simple call out and your mate literally sprints across the entire map, gets the save and the sprints all the way back to the opposite side of the map. For solo you don’t really have that option but from what I see 90% of the people I play against are at the minimum duos.

  • @tjt85 said:

I haven't been playing for long compared to some, but I think unsafe pallets may as well not be on the map. Unless you have good ping and can time a stun, it's as good as having no pallet there. Don't even know why they bother spawning.

I personally think they are balancing the maps around higher MMR Survivors, ignoring the fact that chases already don't last very long at low MMR.

Your comment gives it away honestly. Unsafe pallets are meant for you to go down on so a teammate can get the save. But hey I would gladly get rid of all unsafe pallets so I can just get the down and hook for free.

I very distinctly remember people crying for months about how completely broken and game shattering permanent move speed increases are for the game.

An 11% move speed bonus, permanently, is quite a bit bigger than 3%, last I checked.

That entire buff for huntress was 100% intended to combat MfT, and they deleted MfT. The move speed buff was completely unnecessary, so they removed it. And rightfully so.

The speed buff was completely unrelated to MFT lol, they tried boosting her speed 2 months ago and MFT was gutted over 8 months ago so they are completely unrelated.

Also the 11% is still 12% slower than survivors, so it isnt really comparable to made for this.

  • @Nazzzak said:

It always did that though. Why have they put it in the change section... unless they've changed the timer maybe.

They increase it to 20 seconds from 15. So now it takes thirty seconds to respawn after the sabo

Name one Killer that doesn't rely on fast map movement speed or teleports that can out preform a Killer whose power does not rely on this.

Trapper is bottom tier, Huntress is decent but still doesn't hold a candle towards a Blight, Hillbilly or Nurse. I rarely see people using Myers, or Ghostface. I see Mastermind after Mastermind after Mastermind.

This game is basically hook survivor then use slow down perk, and BBQ to find next survivor then teleport/move quickly to other side of the map for about 80% of Killers now, or they stay near hook survivor then quickly run over and tunnel.

There is no more fun to this game anymore if every new Killer will only rely on fast movement speed and teleports.

And they tried making it to where she went from 77% when holding a hatchet to 88% while still being a 110% killer. People were sobbing and puking because it was such a Giga buff (it wasn’t)

I can’t wait to see the kill rates and still see her at the bottom. Oh well, it is what it is.

I saw no mention in the dev update about Vecna's ability to pass through survivors when swapping spells. Is this intended?

I don’t see why it should be removed considering Michael has been able to use stalk to walk through survivors for several years now.

  • Just like the removal of hook grabs. Slowly but surely removing all skill and planning needed. I used the saboteur tool box with speed add ons and grip wrench and Sabo’d the hook closest to me after getting hit. Needless to say the killer couldn’t hook me.

  • god tier zoning ability at pallets and windows especially since he only slows to 110%. Nasty albeit rare double hits can be huge. Kinda terrible how it can’t go up stairs though, at least it can go down them.

  • Absolutely lol. 2 hatchets isn’t crazy considering she is one of only two killers in the game that has to go to a horribly placed locker and reload, sometimes dropping chase to do it. The movement speed was definitely needed, it could’ve been toned back a bit but honestly there are way to many loops in this game that force her to M1. 10% windup is nice but not crazy either, they could’ve honestly made oak haft base kit.

if wesker gets nerfed then this game would truly be hillbilly/nurse simulator for anyone who wants to have an enjoyable tryhrad killer experience.

That’s why I was genuinely surprised people were crying and throwing up about Huntress getting smol buffs. I would rather go against an S Tier buffed Huntress than even an A Tier Nurse/ Blight.

  • Considering it’s getting a Giga buff that will make it insanely OP as long as you have a build for it. I would say it’s fine as is lol.

  • They will be removed. It would be a double standard not to after removing Chuckys 180 flicks. Then I assume Wesker would be next because his hug techs are definitely not intentional.

  • I tried getting someone into DBD a week ago and they got brutally removed from every match because they didn’t know the fundamentals of looping. And the killer was good enough that even me with thousand of hours went down in chase very quickly. Not to mention it being a curve Billy being an insta down killer is very frustrating for new player as half the chase doesn’t exist essentially. They haven’t given up on the game but it was honestly embarrassing trying to convince them to still enjoy the game after something like that.

I’ll never forget the very first time I played DBD and immediately quit after 2 games because it was insanely hard. Not to mention the tutorial was awful as well. I only tried the game again after watching content creators being good and thinking if they can do it than so can I. Very brutal game for new people and that imo is probably why it will never be super huge like Fortnite.

    The screenshot provided says enough.

I'm so glad I got saboteur because I'm sure that it coming back at a much faster rate than even the cooldown is super useful and it's not like there's not 100 more hooks in the area…

Don’t even worry about it. With the new sabo changes you can easily sabotage all three hooks in less than a second each and not even have to take a hit.

  • No, survivors who die on hooks corpses should stay on the hook. That way the hook can’t be used and the game would actually have a little bit of horror to it again. It wood be very cool to be the last survivor running past the hooked corpses while desperately trying to find hatch.

This game sure doesn't feel like a thousand people work on it.

I agree these cosmetics are overpriced, especially for a game you already pay to play.

That’s because they are constantly working on 4 chapters at the same time. They said they are always working on a years worth of content so out of the 1200 employees 3-400 are working on each chapter. Leaving maybe 50-200 working on everything else like balance, cosmetics and so on. That’s my guess

  • Yep lol. I know we talked about this before but Lethal pursuer isn’t really even good imo. If a different perk extended aura read and nothing else I would take it over Lethal any day lol.

  • @BubMickey07 said:

Cosmetics should not be this expensive....

Now imo if the cosmetics are made by the community or from a license then okay I understand the 1080 cells for the licensed or the 2160 for the community made cosmetics but just in general its too expensive...

Like these cosmetics are so nice like (correct me if I'm wrong i think the artists make the cosmetics right?) the art designers do a splendid job at these cosmetics but it takes WAY to long to get shards and for 2160 for these cosmetics is a bit ridiculous.

But again this might just be my opinion.

Note I think the cosmetics are amazing so don't hate me pls lol

Well they cost a lot of F2P currency to get you to use real money. They have over a thousand people to pay, and the game is only $20 so they have to make money however they can. And cosmetics are there number one seller.

  • I learned that the game is insanely easy when survivors don’t have their meta builds. I’ve probably only lost 2 matches out of 80-100 so far.

  • There is genuinely no reason for slinger to be 110. He’s C tier with a single shot weapon and a 32 meter TR. it’s time to make him 115 already. They did it with Trickster and Trickster kill rate barely increased.

  • It’s pretty much useless to begin with unfortunately. When Survivors drop there items they will know this perk is in play and immediately pick it up. The aura read ends immediately so you might not even see it and tbh oblivious for 30 seconds is almost insignificant except for when used with fast killers.

Not to mention like you said survivors can 99 their items and distortion is gaining more popularity so it’s pretty much irrelevant. Literally the only thing it would be good for is pairing it with Franklins. Which would be a slightly better version of the Franklins + Hoarder combo.

  • Survivor hit boxes are straight up and down and do not match the lean of the model at all. So when a survivor is leaning heavily into a wall, whether injured or not. The hitbox is one uniform cylinder that does not deviate in any way except when crouching. So there is no penalty for hugging walls besides loops with object collision stuck to the like a totem or something that will stop you dead in your tracks.

I got shattered hope, ToTH, Genetic limits and Septic touch.

Not a single survivor had exhaustion perks

  • It does make the killers into a joke. Jason was scary in Friday until you got the sweater and then he would literally be running from you. It was very, very goofy. 6 camp counselors chasing down a 2 meter tall killer, only to smack him to his knees and hit the griddy on him seven times while he was being executed.

If you add the ability to kill killers in this game then all of the killers would have to be made SIGNIFICANTLY stronger. There were no hooks in Friday. If you got grabbed, you instantly died on the spot.

I agree that WoO is overturned, but my argument wasn’t that it’s not OP, I was simply saying that the “autopilot”/“not wanting to think or remember things” argument that you put forward about survivors and their perks, the same could be said for a lot of killers too. Also, the survivor still has to loop the window/pallet they see with WoO. Sure, WoO gives weaker survivors a leg-up, but that perk still doesn’t hide a bad looper.

Running 4 meta gen slowdown perks and turning the match into a 3v1 at 4/5 gens is the epitome of easy mode/“not thinking” but it still happens. Just saying.

I would agree after it turns into a 3 man at 3-5 gens it is completely brainless. 4 meta slowdowns still requires brains. Pain res requires you to get downs/ scourge hook hooks, Pop requires hooks and going to the furthers progressed gen to get the most value. But yes there are also auto pilot killer perks like Grim embrace and deadlock.

I’ve never been able to five Gen chase but the literal first match i ever used WoO I got a 5 Gen chase. It makes bad loopers great and great loopers insane. I honestly don’t k ow if it should get nerfed honestly because the escape rates would probably drop to 20% and kill rates would go to 80% lol.

I use Amanita Toxin on Huntress and sometimes when I hit survivors it’s very blatant that they were using WoO. They should honestly make it a free general perk and give it a 10 second cooldown after vaulting/ dropping pallets that way new people will learn to loop quicker but veterans won’t get an insane amount of info from it.

Honestly, good. Strong haste perks are almost never fun.

Ideally they’d stop making more of them. I will agree Unbound is pretty bad and could be better but the rest don’t need buffs.

Agreed, that’s why they should remove Hope. It’s a ridiculously strong permanent haste effect that makes you win more.
