  • Easy fix to Distortion: Delete the perk🥰

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

    It needs a buff.

All aura reading perk builds are insanely OP, plus add-ons of course.

It's all I get and since you're not going to find a SoloQ with everyone running it, any killer can snowball easily.

If you do run it, you just play a game of rescuing everyone else. In the end, it hides your aura for a small amount of time when the Killers go all in on aura builds.

It is what it is though, you can't be mad at Killers for doing their job.

TAKE THAT PERK OFF RIGHT NOW!!!

  • I’m not gonna lie, The heal you expose you is kinda insane considering I injure people with my Hatchets and then they get heals and even tho they are exposed I can’t instadown really because I’m still 110 lol. It’s pretty much just a free pressure reset.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

Ah yes, let me just 99 my single use one-heal med kit and not actually finish the heal.

Ok? Pick it up after you use it? “OH NOOOOO IM OBLIVIOUS FOR 30 SECONDS IF I PICK IT UP THO!!! LMAO!

  • Complaining about a mediocre and easily countered perk is wild to me. NINTEY NINE YOUR ITEMS!!! PERK DOES NOTHING!

Killer has Franklins? W KEY! ITS TWELVE METERS JUST LEAVE THE LOOP! Move it to a corner later. People complain about anything nowadays.

You mean killers who actively play the easiest way to win…should get easier teams?

While I keep the game fun for survivors that first kill at 7-8 hooks get punished by high MMR bully squad?

Killers who want to get kills the easiest way, should match with survivors who wants the easiest escape.

I never once said that so I’m not sure where you are getting that from. I’m stating the fact that the MMR only counts kills. This is not my opinion, this is proven fact confirmed by devs. Tunneling killers do get better opponents currently so it’s working like you think it should.

  • Terrible idea, easily abusable by survivors. Tunneling is a necessity sometimes. The right way to fix it is to incentivize hooking multiple survivors. True Talents suffering mechanic that Otzdarva endorses would end tunneling almost entirely without punishing killers. Until something similar is introduced, tunneling is here to stay.

  • Hopefully is stays underused because survivors really don’t need any more Gen rush perks

  • This game was brutally survivor sided for the first 6 years and is just now starting to be balanced out. Killers have finally become the power role and people don’t like that, because survivors used to be the true power role.

Even so your perks have never been and should never be rivaling a killers perks. Killers get 4 perks and survivor SWFS get 16 perks. You use teamwork and perk synergies to make your perks equal in power.

  • @bjorksnas said:

Huntress, 5% movespeed when out of hatchets is silly

That’s what I’m saying! What a lame Ultra rare! It’s the worst imo!

  • I was wondering what happened, I thought it was just a one time bug. The survivor used it aggressively so I happily made them taste a hatchet and removed them from the game😂😂

  • @Caiman said:

    1. Win the game.
    2. Drop item at exit gates.
    3. Teabag.

The killer, upon being assailed by long-range x-ray teabagging, will never run the perk again out of sheer shame and disgrace. Thus it will be countered forever.

Proper way to counter Weave Attunement: Use a singular brain cell and 99 your item instead of using all of it😂😂

  • had that happen to me today too, very annoying. I did not bleed them out however because that is incredibly boring and I’d rather end the match and not think about how annoying they are.

  • @Marioneo said:

So tunneling and camping is the best strategy for this logic run an instadown killer to prevent saves while using slowdown perks to delay the survivors

It absolutely is unfortunately. All MMR looks at is kills, it doesn’t matter if you only hook them all once and camp them all to death. That’s why True and Otz have been pushing for this game to be hook based over the past year with a suffering mechanic. That way a killer who tunnels and camps people out would derank. But Bhvr doesn’t want to do that for a few reasons.

Distortion needs 5 tokens and a token regain after completing 50% repairs on a generator.

Distortion needs to permanently reveal the aura of the survivors who use it! And make them insta killable AND hindered by 99% for 10 minutes!

  • Too many killers think their objective is to stop generators from popping but that’s not true. Your objective is to sacrifice all survivors. Defending generators is simply a means to an end. The longer generators take to get done, the more time you have to kill all the survivors.

MMR is based on kills only and not amount of generators left. My favorite matches of all time are the ones where survivors pop all gens in 6 minutes and I kill them all anyways.

You should NEVER be discouraged by losing gens, you should be picking which gens you to lose and which ones to keep. Certain gens aren’t worth defending and waste too much time. If MMR is doing its job correctly you should almost never be winning with 2+ gens left unless survivors make huge mistake or you’re playing Nurse or Blight lol.

What did old hmt do? Hell I don't know what current hangman's does lol

Showed the auras of survivors within 3 meters of a hook which made it dummy easy to hit people with hatchets healing under hooks

As a huntress enjoyer I actually hate all the notification bubbles ngl, I wish you could toggle them on or off.

The bane of my existence lol, but the sound is nice. Shout out old hangman’s trick 💀

  • @EQWashu said:

I admit I can find myself somewhere between hyperfocused and flaky (and IRL too sometimes >.> but I digress); when playing Killer and looking for Survivors or chasing them or focused on a challenge like a glyph, I kind of appreciate the noise notification that someone was rescued from a hook, so I'm aware that Survivor is back in the match.

    ADHD killer mains unite!

I'd argue the Soldier's Putee is actually pretty good… for a yellow addon. If it were a yellow it'd be considered a pretty solid but outclassed addon for a few gimmick uses, it only looks awful because it's an iridescent.

My answer, to the overall thread, is definitely Pyramid Head's Obsidian Goblet (an addon that does nothing of note) or Skull Merchant's Expired Batteries (an addon that is worse than running nothing). Hard to pick between the two, honestly.

It’s not even worthy of being an add on, it should be basekit considering the killer is the weakest in the game without their power.

Goblet is bad but it’s not just something that should be basekit as an ultra rare add on. And expired batteries are definitely awful too but I’d argue better than Soldiers Putee because at least it gives haste above 115% on a killer who can become undetectable at the push of a button.

  • killer: Huntress

Iridescent head: Hatchets inflict the dying state on survivors, limits hatchet count to 1

New Effect: Hatchets that hit generators cause the generator to explode, immediately losing 5% progress and causes survivors on it to scream. Fully charged hatchets break pallets and breakable walls.

Soldiers Puttee: Move at 115% when out of hatchets

New Effect: Move at 110% while carrying survivors, kick pallets 25% faster, can vault windows and kick pallets while carrying survivors.

  • Soldiers Putee is the worst in the game. Imagine being a 115% M1 Killer with a 50 meter terror radius 💀

  • @drsoontm said:

    Iridescent Hatchet.

Agreed, zero fun for survivors and the killer. I have 1,000+ because they are so lame.

  • Yes Pop is dead. It was literally how it is right now over a year ago and nobody used it so they buffed it back up to 30%

Then people complained and it got nerfed again. Go read the change log on the wiki lol, it’s bananas

  • @Deathstroke said:

Most huntress mains I seen have said she didn't need changes. She definetely should not been priority over many other weaker killers like myers and freddy. Huntress is hard killer that's why lower kill rate than average and I think it's not always good to balance around specific kill rate. Reason for buffs was yes that and they probably wanted to make her easier for casual players. But then they should really buff nurse now.

That Nurse statement is very disingenuous for many reason because Nurse has a lo kill rate at general MMR and a High kill rate at High MMR proving she is tough for new people but insanely overpowered for the people who know how to play her.

Huntress has a low kill rate at general MMR AND High MMR. So they are not at all comparable. And 95% of these “Huntress mains” who say she didn’t need any changes are people pretending to be Huntress mains.

CoCo thought the changes were needed but should’ve been toned back a bit. Scott said it was strange but nothing crazy. True said they were fine. Spooky said they should be toned down a bit but should be kept. Those creators play her at high MMR and know that she needed the changes.

And while yes other killers absolutely needed changes more like Freddy and Michael, a simple number tweak that takes all of a few days to implement and test didn’t take any time away from other killers. On top of her being the most played free killer so they want her to feel good for new people.

  • @bornagain234 said:

I would LOOOOOOVE to see the devs go up against upper MMR public matches as killer with no slowdown non meta builds, and as a solo queue survivor.

When cote did it, flashlights got nerfed immediately which makes me wonder if they actually play the game.

Would they ever do this again? There should be like 5 people at BHVR whos entire job is to just play all day and give feedback instead of relying on youtubers.

I honestly don’t think any of them could reach high MMR, no offense but they are older people who honestly play the game occasionally for fun.

They could no doubt set their MMR themselves but I don’t think they would do that either lol.

  • @Junylar said:

Addons are an outdated game mechanic, they should scrap it altogether and just buff the basekits. Should do the same with survivors' items too, while buffing healing and repairing speeds. The game would be more fun and balanced this way, but instead you can just purchase a win with bloodpoints now.

Look at what happened when they tried to make shiny pin basekit. That’ll never happen for 99% of the add ons

  • @C3Tooth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3737004#Comment_3737004

Survivors passively pray for an easier game and also actively make 1,000 posts on the forums and Reddit asking for literally everything to be nerfed.

    And killers didnt?

Nerf aura, nerf regression, nerf hitboxes, nerf add ons; oh you just nerfed regression? NERF THEM AGAIN! BOTH sides are doing everything they can to make the game easier. Welcome to video games lmao, it’s nothing new.

    • 16% distance on hit
    • 50sec of Gen is literally worth 1 slowdown perk basekit
    • 2 stack SFBFL
    • 50% Brutal strength
    • Deadhard
    • DS
    • Adrenaline
    • Toolbox strength on Gens
    • Keys and Hatch
    • Medkit
    • Flashlight not affect killers' power
    • Self healing nerfed
    • Made for this
    • Trapper got buffed
    • Hillbilly got buffed
    • Docter buffed
    • Huntress buffed
    • Clown buffed
    • Twin buffed
    • Distortion and WoO are in the most complained perks

You know the list nerfing on survivors have to be greater than killers in order to make escape rate droped near 20% than its used to be?

Besides lobby shopping is an absolute overblown joke that almost never happens. I played 23 matches of survivor today and had a grand total of THREE killers leave the load up screen. Unless it’s a region thing, killers almost NEVER dodge in the US

And my survivors never give up on first hook like hook suicide a myth in Asia region. 23 matches of US killers cant tell a thing. So do mines.

It’s almost like you missed the fact I said BOTH sides😂 And yes survivors have been nerfed way more because they have had more broken stuff and you can’t deny that.

This game was literally a survivors playground for 6-7 years straight. And now that killers are finally becoming the power role, survivors aren’t happy about it.

And MFT absolutely needed the nerf too because survivors had the devs remove Huntress’s yew seed brew add on because 3% for 15 seconds was considered game breaking but yet somehow 3% permanently was totally fine and reasonable 😂 give me a break

  • Who’s complaining about it? I’m just pointing out the simple fact it’s a very strong perk that is free. It can’t be denied either it’s factual only. Otherwise it wouldn’t have a 30% pickrate on a character who isn’t even free

And Imagine saying Pop is too easy to get and provides too much value when Windows literally has no requirement and has insane value. It makes the strongest loopers even stronger.

  • @fussy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3737199#Comment_3737199

Can't agree on this, bad looper is still bad looper, even with WoO. Bad loopers with this perk even worse for team than good one, which already good even without this perk, because half of map will be deadzone after first chase of bad looper with WoO. It's no doubt free value, but can't say it buys you that much time or something.

First time I’ve ever used the perk I got my first ever 5 gen chase and have never been able to come close without it. A bad looper may give up the pallets instantly but if your team has a single brain cell you would have 3 gens popped by the time they go down. And bad loopers usually can’t find loops to begin with or don’t know that pallets have been used.

I have never downed a single person I thought who was bad at looping and found out they were using Windows. It is in fact an overpowered perk that is only bad on people who have less than 10 hours in the game.

  • @fussy said:

I just need to talk it out, because this thing has been on my mind for a month now because of how dumb it is.

"… conditions to activate it aren’t very difficult". I understand that devs needed some sore reason to describe this Pop nerf, but this is such a spit in the face. Saying this about one of the most demanding on activation perks is just a mockery of killers or complete misunderstanding of their own game. And I just want to compare it to some things on survivor side, which I see every game, because, once again, win some time, like many other things, allowed only for survivors and arrow turns exclusively in only one direction, when it comes to balance discussions.

So to activate Pop killer needs:

    • Find chase
    • Win chase
    • Hook survivor (and it's a challenge now in some matches, thanks to sabo buff)
    • Find a gen, which at least has 50% of progress to win ~15-20s on average

And that without keeping in mind that you should pray that gen won't be poped into your face; that you will find a chase before using it and need to decide to lose perk value or ignore chase; that you simply won't have time to go check all gens after hook unless you are high mobility killer in most matches on majority of maps.

So let's compare this insanely easy to activate perk to things that require a crazy amount of work to buy time on survivor side:

Syringe: Press M2+Space to win 24-32 seconds.

Toolboxes: Bring item to win 10-20 sec. Add BNP to win even more.

Exhaustions: Do usual chase to buy 15-20 sec on average to it. (Easily can win a lot more)

Bring Medkit + Syringe + Exhaustion and it's already 1 gen time value during the match. It's one survivor value.
So don't forget folks: killer bringing 4 slowdowns = overpowered.
Survivors bring over 300sec of time savers/wasters = balanced and allowed.

I don't complain about slowdown nerf, since I don't play and sweat to win in most cases anyway, so slowdown is just a tool for me, with which I get more chases. I complain about devs allow themselves to make statements that are so far from reality and no doubt extremely biased. I complain about community's hypocrisy (what is understandable, because survivors are majority), that extremes should always be banned/nerfed on one side, but they can safely exist on the other for long years.

Thanks. Just needed to say it.

You forgot to mention the most egregious example Windows Of Opportunity. Literally requires absolutely nothing to activate and makes everyone who uses it a far better looper. Insanely strong perk that is literally free.

  • @Deathstroke said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3737011#Comment_3737011

I don't think huntress needed changes in the beginning. She was most balanced killer before her buffs.

And I know that she did need the changes because I played her for hundred of hours. One of the only 2 killers that has to find poorly placed lockers to reload. Has her power completely gutted by indoor maps and map clutter. Has the third lowest kill rate in the game in general MMR and Top 5%.

The simple fact is she does not meet the 60% kill rate and as a result needs buffs to meet that target.

  • Merchant is honestly one of the most boring killers in the game. She needs to be reworked entirely. Drones should have patrol paths and when survivors are detected by them that drones will chase the survivors and injure them. 2-3 drones max, decent cooldown on them, can be destroyed by pallets but at the cost of the pallet being destroyed instantly.

She looks bad ass imo but very boring to play as and against. I can’t even make a video on her because she is such a snooze fest.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WIRLPCU2JZXH/bhvr.png

From a different thread but it is applicable here. BHVR does not favor a specific side.

(Changed the image to be medium size to make not look awkward when quoting another reply/post.)

That’s not entirely true. From a business standpoint they absolutely do have a slight bias towards survivors, there are 4x as many survivors as there are killers and keep the game afloat. They would honestly never admit that because that is bad for business, but if we’re using common sense it’s obvious.

Not only in terms of balance either but cosmetics as well. Certain killers have been in the game 7+ years and have less skins than survivors who have only been in the game for 3 years.

Something that also proves it were the Huntress changes, they reverted the movement speed solely because of survivor “feedback” and not because of any stats or metrics and I was told that directly by the devs on my post. They kept the other changes because they didn’t receive as much backlash but eventually nerfed her belts too.

Definitely a bias, an understandable one, but still one.

  • Literally one of the absolute strongest perks in the game and is so strong it is used in every single comp DBD match that has ever been played since its inception.

Denies all killer wrks that are tied to unhooks and obliterates any pressure gained ESPECIALLY in SWF. It needs no change.

Nancy was a big meanie to poor Meg with a hat!😭 And distortion sealed their fates💀 Maybe when they gut aura reads and I don’t use them anymore I won’t hate that perk!

    Imagine

I already thought of a bunch lol. Like if a hatchet lands within 2 meters of a survivor on a Gen, they receive a difficult skill check. That would be dope.

Ideally, everything that makes a killer feel "required" should become baskit, many of these "this thing is faster" or "this is slightly better" addons are just required to play the killer, otherwise it feels miserable.

    • Trapper feels bad without a bag addon
    • Wraith feels bad without windstorm and swift hunt
    • Billy feels bad without cooldown reduction
    • Nurse feels bad without attack range addon
    • Myers feels bad without stalk speed increase
    • Hag feels bad without range increase
    • Doctor feels bad without range increase
    • Huntress feels bad without windup speed increase
    • Bubba feels bad without chili
    • Freddy just feels bad and all his addons are horrible
    • Pig feels bad without charge speed increases
    • Clown feels bad without reload speed
    • Spirit feels bad without movement speed increases
    • Legion feels bad without frenzy duration/movement speed
    • Plague feels bad without extra fountains
    • Ghostface feels bad without cooldown reduction
    • Demo feels bad without movement speed increases
    • Oni feels bad without charge speed increases
    • Deathslinger feels bad without reload speed increases
    • Pyramid head feels bad without range speed increases (although all the other addons are terrible)
    • Blight feels bad without speed increases
    • Twins feels bad without toy sword
    • Trickster feels bad without movement speed increases
    • Nemesis addons are all bad and should feel bad
    • Cenobite feels bad without that one purple addon to spawn extra change
    • Artist feels bad without repel time reduction and cooldown reduction
    • Sadako feels bad without the movement speed boost on teleport
    • Dredge feels bad without the one that lets him break out of locked lockers faster
    • Wesker feels bad without the egg
    • Knight feels bad without the map of the realm
    • Skull merchant feels bad without undetectable duration and cooldown reduction
    • Singularity feels bad without duration increase
    • Xenomorph feels bad without flamethrower reduction addoons
    • Chucky feels bad without cooldown addons
    • Unknown feels bad without the teleport recovery speed
    • Vecna feels bad without fly addons (so far in my experience)

I really think they need to do a massive overhaul of addons. Anything that feels "required" should just become basekit completely and the addon system should be reworked. Addons should never just "increase x thing" or "decrease x thing" they should be cool unique gameplay changes.

    Basically you should have:

    • 4 brown addons
    • 4 yellow addons
    • 3 green addons
    • 2 purple addons
    • 2 iri addons

I honestly think wraith is the best designed killer in terms of addons, despite him feeling bad in a few cases

Brown addons should always just increase bloodpoints and NOT weaken the power.

Yellow addons should always have 1 that gives double bloodpoints and weakens the power (hard mode addon/farming) and the others should do minor ADDITIONS to the power

Green addons should be major ADDITIONS to the power

Purple Addons should do minor CHANGES to the power

Iri addons should do MAJOR changes to the power.

So for example, if i were to redesign wraith's addons that were bad i would have all of his addons be like this:

    Basekit changes:

    • Purple windstorm now made base kit
    • Purple Swift hunt now made base kit

    Brown:

    • Gain 100% bonus bloodpoints in the brutality category, and hitting a survivor out of cloak gives an additonal 100% bloodpoints in brutality
    • Gain 100% bonus bloodpoints in the deviousness category, and uncloking near a survivor grants bonus bloodpoints in the deviousness category (new score event)
    • Gains 100% bonus bloodpoints in the hunter category, and being near a survivor while cloaked grants bonus bloodpoints in the hunter category
    • Gains 100% bonus bloodpoints in the sacrifice category, and gain bonus bloodpoints when a survivor is sacrifice while you are in a chase (promote not camping)

    Yellow

    • Grants 100% bonus bloodpoints in all categories, but reduces the movement speed bonus you get after uncloaking
    • Hitting a survivor with a surprise attack grants blindness for 60 seconds
    • Breaking a pallet, wall, or generator with automatically uncloak you
    • Your undetectable lasts for another 6 seconds after uncloaking

    Green

    • Hitting a survivor with a surprise attack grants mangled and Hemorrhage for 70 seconds
    • Reveals the aura of survivors within 8 meters of your location while cloaked
    • Survivors are unable to tell the direction or distance of the wailing bell (becomes a background noise)

    Purple

    • Action speeds while cloaked are 75% faster, but action speeds while uncloaked are 35% slower.
    • The wailing bell becomes completely silent and the wraith no longer makes noises while cloaked, but uncloaking takes 50% longer

    Iridescent

    • Movement speed is decreased to 3.85 m/s, the wraith can hit survivors out of cloak. Performing an action or an attack will uncloak the wraith. Cloaking now takes 100% longer. Starts the trial uncloaked (this tells survivors this addon is in play)
    • While cloaked, see the aura of all generators and their progress, and generators that are being repaired will be highlighted in blue, but while uncloaked you suffer from the blindness status effect.

So like, the gist is, brown addons are for bloodpoint farming. There's a yellow for more intense bloodpoint farming that makes it harder. The rest of the yellows give minor additions to the power. The greens give more major additions to the power. The purple changes the power in some smaller ways by strengthening in some ways or weakening in others, and the purple changes your power completely, almost as if you were a different killer.

These probably are not balanced at all, but i'm just showing like the kinds of things they should do.

Those are some great ideas actually! Sadly they will probably never happen. I think it would be cool to change up the killer power with ultra rares as most of them are boring or just plain bad.

And We already seen what happened when they tried to make certain things basekit on killers. Shiny Pin basekit for Huntress💀 of course it still has the 2nd highest pick rate now that belts are dead.

  • All Gen perks got nerfed and SABO got an insane buff across the board. Very limited incentive to hook survivors right now honestly.

Survivors want to go against killers that cannot win. If a killer can win, it’s too unfun boring no counterplay, and must be nerfed.

It really does seem like that sometimes honestly lol, I remember when they announced Huntress and Trickster were gonna get buffs and reload 1 second faster. DBD Twitter, Reddit and Tik Tok had an absolute meltdown.

You would’ve genuinely thought that they made those killers move at 200% speed basekit with how bad people reacted lmao

There should be a middle ground in-between Alc Ring C33 Blight and Freddy.

I believe the Killer with the best set of addons is Wraith. Strong addons, fun addons, meme addons, unique addons. He's got them all, and he's balanced.

Do you think his 60% pallet kick speed is broken? It’s 3 Brutal strengths lol.

  • Honestly mage hand is his only ability that has any real value. FOTD is borderline useless except for zoning and the fly spell feels like it doesn’t know what it’s trying to bed.

They practically remove any requirement to aim, it's like the epitome of unhealthy game design.

I’d rather they keep it instead of dumbing everything down. Literally every add on is becoming lame AF (X Faster) add ons and frankly I’m getting tired of it.

If it stays the way it was implemented in the PTB a couple years ago then slug rushing is going to be the new meta, absolutely terrible for both sides

It’s not the same as last time. The new version will only activate when all other survivors are dead or in struggle phase on hook and THEN you have to down the last survivor.
