"I'm currently not doing very well, therefore this game is dying and the devs are making one side OP."
-
If they just made it so you have to work on a gen for at least 3-5 seconds to stop regression, it would solve a big issue with gen kicking.
-
How do they think that's a good idea???
Groaning Storehouse is already one of, if not THE best Macmillan map for survivors
-
I actually really like original killers since it allows the devs who work on audio and visuals to truly shine.
But A Binding of Kin was completely awful and The Twins are extremely unfun to face, and the best way to play them is camp and slug primarily which are fine strategies, but it's all they're good at. Trickster is looking like another bad entry with the only thing going for him being "he attractive kpop man". Lack of new maps paired with bad map reworks also hurt the chapters a lot. (Survivors are good, but they are basically skins)
It says a lot when many people are more excited for a POV adjustment on an old killer than a new killer entirely. But I may just be salty, so keep in mind this is an opinion.
-
Bad take. We have several dudes with masks who all use a knife, and they aren't extremely similar.
Trapper and Jason share a vaguely similar mask and trapper has a cosmetic of a machete that isn't even his default. Trapper isn't undead either, so they don't look as similar as people say. Ghostface and Legion are extremely similar, but people ain't complaining.
-
Yeah, Autohaven is wayyy too dark.
I play console and can't exactly change the brightness easily, so I hope they either give us settings or alter the map.
It's either maps are very bright and everything is extremely easy to see, or they're way too dark and you can't see crap. We need better atmosphere imo.

A lot of these replies are surprising.
So what if Nemesis uses guns in RE, The Entity can take them away and leave him with his flamethrower or something. If Oni can get stunned by a pallet, no reason why Nemesis can't.
No point bringing up the actual power of characters, since they would all be in The Entity's realm and be under it's control. That's why Pyramid Head doesn't pursue survivors past the exit gates or why Freddy can't do much more crazy stuff like in his movies. The Entity is a multi-dimensional cosmic horror, if it wants a killer, it'll get them.

A space ship like the Ishimura from Dead Space or a decrepit castle.

This concept is really cool! The only thing I could say is maybe decrease the time it takes to disable the Marker to 20 seconds, also how long does it take for the Marker to work again?
Thank you! The only reason I made it so long is since I wanted it to act like a generator and require proper commitment to disable a part of the power. But lowering it is actually a better idea now that I think about it. Appreciate the feedback!
I wasn't entirely sure how I wanted the speeds to be, so I left it vague. But if I were to set the speeds, I'd say you should gain 5% Exposure per second when within 1-4m, 2.5%/s within 4-16m, 1.5%/s within 16-32m, 1%/s within 32-48m, and 0.5%/s when beyond 48m.
So 20s, 40s, 66s, 100s, 200s. This is just a quick idea of how it could go however.

Idea to replace hatch: Final Chase. (Similar to Tru3's idea I believe)
As soon as a single survivor remains in the trial, The Entity blocks the exit gates, the Endgame Collapse begins with both players seeing each other's aura for 15 seconds, and at least one pallet within 32m of each completed generator respawns.
The EGC timer is 2x slower until the chase begins, and the survivor will have to live until the EGC timer reaches the halfway mark, at which point the Entity will open the gates automatically and respawn more pallets.
If the killer manages to down you, they will be able to mori you as if they had a Cypress Memento Mori offering with bonus points. If the survivor escapes, they receive both the regular escape points and what they would get from Hatch currently.
Could always be adjusted to be more balanced, but this makes the last chase more thrilling than just hoping you find the hatch before the other person. The killer gets to enjoy a mori, so maybe the survivor could be given an item while they hear The Entity laugh or something. Also, if they wanted to spice it up a bit more, each side could be given helpful status effects as the chase goes on.

While some unintended things in games can be good, this does not appear to be one of those things.
K&M already has an advantage over console, so it's kind of a bad idea to give PC players even more of an advantage with exploits like this.
I don't know how people can think Blight hitting completely around corners is fair, it literally makes him similar to Nurse where you are basically helpless if they're good. At most, Blight should be able to turn 90 degrees, maybe even 110 or so if you want to be generous. However, this is just my opinion.
Blight is already really good, plus he's getting his POV adjusted which will make him even better, so he really doesn't need to be able to do this.

It wouldn't be that creative. What would he do? Its just gonna be recycled powers most likely. Probably a mix of Doctor, Demo, and Twins but each element is weaker.
I'll answer that with another question: What would Mr. X do?
I only stated that Springtrap would have more potential due to the more supernatural elements of fnaf.
-
Both fit extremely well.
Only reason I picked Springtrap is they have more potential for a creative power.

First off...FNAF was marketed to kids. Free copies to youtubers who stream mostly TO KIDS, it got a Teen rating because it was "scary", Nintendo gave it the go ahead, and the merch can be found in TODLER SIZES!!!!
I'm not arguing against it...I'm simply stating, the game has already jumped ship, we have santa elves, toy elephants, and now a kpop youtuber/normal ass person coming to the game. Theres no point in arguing against FNAF at this point....
Then that's a fair point, but i'm pretty sure fnaf started out not being marketed to kids and youtubers are what caused it.
The character from fnaf people generally want does look much more visually fitting than Trickster and Elephant Clown.

Yea well aesthetically it looks like a kids game. Can't help you if you're scared if that silliness
Totally looks like a kid's game, huh.

At the rate this game is going we may as well add the teletubbies, better yet, lets throw all the themes out of the window and make all the maps bright and full of sunshine, lets take it a step further and make a Fitness Instructor killer...screw it, lets find a random person at burger king full uniform and make them a killer, Matter fact lets add the Veggie Tales to the game...
I don't see ANY similarity to teletubbies in the screenshot above, it just looks like you dislike fnaf and are projecting your bias into a bad argument.
-
I would be fine with getting rid of it.
It's too small to be useful in regular circumstances, and it's just plain annoying in any other circumstance. If you win the game and manage to hook everyone around the same time, you shouldn't have to win again because someone got lucky.
-
I 100% would like to see him in the game eventually.
People spewing bs about it "not fitting" or "being for kids" are straight up wrong considering we have Trickster, Elephant Clown, Bunny Legion, etc. Springtrap is actually far more creepy looking than a regular mascot suit with blood on it.
Here is an example showing just how well it would fit too https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/m1cyoz/i_added_springtrap_to_dead_by_daylight/
It may be annoying seeing frequent fnaf posts, but it's far more annoying to be told "But this character deserves to get in the game first!" or "But I don't want kids to play this game!".
-
I hate the perk with a passion.
Most infuriating part about it is perfectly predicting a survivor, be it breaking LOS to approach a different angle or making a good read with your power, only to have them press the "mistake eraser button" and extend the loop to an annoying amount of time.
Seeing as it's run nearly every high rank game, I am of the opinion it should be changed in some way (Make it for only distance or only dodging for example)
-
Everyone should start DCing whenever you get Haddonfield and call it a bug so they disable it.
-
I think it'd be great, but I would prefer the Ubermorph as the killer so the power could focus more on the marker signal
Unfortunately however, Dead Space is sort of a dead IP at this point so it is highly unlikely :(
-
Trying to change Nurse in any way is hard, since she is one of the oldest killers and people wouldn't want to see her changed. But in Nurse's case in particular, her power is so fundamentally busted that more should be done to make it more fair.
-
Gen speeds are ridiculous, but I don't see how making it a regular perk would be good.
If anything, I think that making it basekit with a lower regression rate, and having a few seconds before regression starts would be a better alternative. (Could also make all gen kicks have an instant 2.5-5% regression)
But for now, we should wait for them to fix totem spawns and make maps smaller before trying to do anything about gen speeds.

I feel Nemesis is way too much for DBD. He can run probably faster than Billy and have even more control over his movement.
He doesn't have to be exactly like he is in RE, but if not Nemesis I would like to see Birkin be the killer.
-
I main him, so this is a bit biased, but I feel like he should get a few changes such as the following:
- PotD applies Torment
- Revert PotD recovery back to 2.75
- Remove the slowdown after exiting RoJ whilst NOT in chase
- Either remove the trail cap or increase the time they stay active
PotD applying torment would allow the killer to control who gets tormented instead of leaving it in the survivor's control, and it'd go well with making the recovery longer.
The slowdown being removed is something I absolutely think should happen, as you shouldn't get punished for doing what the killer is advertised to do (manipulate the map).
The PotD recovery can be debated, but it can be a bit spammy as it is now, so it could be a good trade off for buffs
Lastly, if they didn't want to make PotD apply Torment, they could improve the trails to last longer or remove the 100 trail cap so it improves your chances of actually using Cages.
-
Isn't the counterplay against Blight supposed to be turning tight corners? Allowing him to straight up deny it seems kinda ridiculous and this is coming from a killer main mind you.
He already has one of, if not the best map presence, can end chases quickly due to his high speed, and is going to be getting his camera changed to have better visibility which means easier tracking.
If they aren't going to fix it, at least give console players the ability to do it as well.
-
Transparent default skin for Pyramid Head 😳
-
Hard choice since I love em both, but RE has more to work with in terms of maps, powers, killers, and survivors.
(Bring in Nemesis and have him use his flamethrower and mutate as the match progresses.)
-
NOED is honestly fine, even if it's annoying. The only thing I would do is make the perk require at least 4 hooks, so people who say only bad killers use it can finally be quiet.
As for Insidious, maybe decrease the time to become Undetectable to just 1 second so it can be used to mindgame, but have it disable if you stand still too long.
-
I had a similar idea, involving all 4 in the match at once, however you would move at survivor speed and be able to group up with the other Legion members to increase your speed and lethality.
People didn't really like it, despite it being different from Twins lol
-
PH already got a nerf, he doesn't need any more.
If a PH leaves you tormented for Final Judgement, he isn't playing optimally anyway, as he is vulnerable to hook perks and wastes more time.
Honestly, I believe they should remove the slowdown on RoJ while not in chase, revert the PotD recovery, make his PotD apply torment, and remove torment when unhooking (Only the hooked survivor though)
-
The game is more balanced than it's ever been, but it's still in the survivor's favor.
-
It's pretty bs.
Had a game as Legion on Yamaoka Estate where the first gen popped within 30 seconds, and I spawned too far to even get there in time.

Jason grabbing the pallet would be the most badass thing in the game.
It would be absolutely terrifying. Imagine thinking you got a stun at a god pallet only to see him lift it back in place with one hand and keep chasing you.
-
Trail of Torment.
If you kick a gen that is 90% and no one touches it, you can stay Undetectable for around 5 whole minutes. I just wish it didn't immediately cancel after hitting someone. (Be great if they gave it a token system that let you stay Undetectable after hitting people)
-
Hatch should be replaced with a final chase mechanic imo.
As soon as one survivor remains, the EGC starts and The Entity blocks the gates, but also slowly opens them for you. Last long enough against the killer and get a form of Adrenaline as the exits open for you (Speed, Health state, and Endurance). Depending on how many gens were completed, a set amount of pallets will respawn as well, giving you a fighting chance.
Lastly, if you get downed before the gates open, The Entity stops opening the gates and the killer can mori you.
-
If people are worried about what the power would be, just use his insane durability and ability to appear seemingly out of nowhere.
Example: Getting stunned, flashlighted, and bodyblocked fills your power. Once your Power becomes active, see the auras of all survivors for a short time. During this time, you may press the power button to appear a set distance from a survivor you look at in whichever direction they are moving/facing.
Also, while the power is active, getting a pallet dropped on you will instead have you lift the pallet back with one hand with a shorter recovery and you can instantly go through breakable walls.
Just a small idea of what he could possibly do, devs could definitely make it better too.
-
Huntress, I hate her with a passion.
-
Ban? Nah that's stupid. There are some matches where you know it won't go anywhere and it's better to cut your losses.
It is annoying when it's for no discernable reason however, and I feel like some sort of system similar to OW's endorsements could be a good thing to reduce hook suicides.
-
Some tips for playing against him:
- If he is using his power behind you in the open, move left and right a little bit (Not full dodging like you'd do against Slinger). This will likely make him uncertain on what to do and either cancel and give you distance, or keep holding it and move 110%. If he does fire the attack, since you're already moving, you'll have an easier time dodging.
- If approaching a window/pallet, try not to look behind you and only pay attention to audio cues from his power if he activates it. If he notices you looking behind, he will likely be very patient with the attack and either shoot it when you do use the window/pallet or bodyblock it and m1 you.
- One of the best mind-games is to act like you're going to run a loop, then run to another one as soon as you break LOS. Typically, the PH will activate his power and put trails on the pallet while chasing, so you can gain distance while he does so.
For playing as him:
- Pay attention to how the survivor acts. If you know they look back a lot, be very patient with your power and avoid prediction hits, as they will likely double back when they lose LOS and they will try and dodge last second at windows/pallets. If they don't look behind them and run straight, try and use your power to hit them in the open since it has a shorter recovery and hits further. Lastly, if they immediately drop pallets, you'll want to ready your power earlier than normal to catch them mid drop.
- At the beginning of the match, go to where you think there are survivors and leave small amounts of trails at important doorways and good loops. Don't do too much too early, as they do have a timer.
- If you are chasing a tormented survivor on the opposite side of where the others are, immediately cage and head over to pressure them. If you are in a place you want to defend (3 gen for example) just hook and wait for them to come to you.
- If someone is death hook and tormented, always Final Judgement them unless there is only one other survivor and you want to 4k.
- Hook perks are generally not preferable unless you avoid caging altogether. The only one you should run is BBQ.
- If you corner someone at a loop they cannot run from, force a torment by trapping the pallet and looping once, then stay on the inner side to keep them cornered and shoot your power until you hit them. If they try running away, you should be able to catch them before they get anywhere.
-
Still hate it.
If they wanted to update the HUD from the ground up, make it customizable.
-
I don't think Midwich is a very well done map, however, that is the map with the best breakable walls imo.
-
Monster from Carrion, or Springtrap.
-
I would make base kicking regress by 2.5% and increase the regression rate to 1/2 of a single survivor's repair speed. (I would reduce PGtW to 22.5% as well.)
-
He looks like a tumblr teen's OC based on Jared Leto's Joker.
His gameplay is "Huntress with knives" with a little bit of "throw faster"
They could have turned him into a pyromaniac and made him stand out in a much better way.
Hopefully the anniversary event is RE or something, because Twins + this are letdowns imo.
-
Personal bias or spite due to all the fnaf posts.
The designs and lore would fit in perfectly, so no other reasons I know of besides bias or spite.
I am all for a FNAF chapter, and I hope they add it in the future, just as I hope other desired characters make it in such as Candyman, Chucky, and Pennywise, despite me personally not caring for them.
-
If you ever die to NOED, you are the one at fault. If only bad killers run it, you should absolutely be able to cleanse all totems.
-
I do somewhat agree.
Gen speeds are ridiculously fast and if you don't run slowdown, you are MUCH likelier to lose. It's understandable to be at a disadvantage without perks to give you more time, but the disparity between slowdown and no slowdown is not healthy in the slightest.
-
The Observer.
In regards to Dead by Daylight in a narrative sense, we view all significant story points from his point of view.
All the playable characters are side characters whose stories are told by The Observer.
-
Being inclusive to everyone is a very good thing, as long as they don't make the character obnoxious and in your face about their sexuality and whatnot.
If the character is written the same as others with subtle indicators that they're LGBT, perfect. I feel like a lot of the complaints are stemming from the fact that we don't even know the lore and it's being marketed as LGBT, which comes off as forced for the sake of marketing.
Fine by me though, this opens the door to a trap survivor which I would like.
