What we need is an Operation Health. Fix bugs, refactor code, adjust balance, etc.. I think slowing down on the release of content is a good idea, too. It'll lessen the time crunch.
-
My changes do not stop DS from being anti-tunnel. The killer isn't tunnelling if he's gone after someone else and won his chase and survivors shouldn't be able to just straight up be immune.
-
@GayDwight the ends do not justify the means. DS can still be an anti-tunnel perk, but it should not be as blatantly abusable as it is right now. If you're teammates are so bad that they farm you, then BHVR should implement the ability for the hooked to prevent unhooks already.
Regardless, your point is irrelevant. In both scenarios I point out, you're either forced to eat DS or get hit by it unknowingly. Nice try attempting to force a narrative on me, though.
-
@projecteulogy Obviously tunnelling isn't fine. It's an extremely boring way to play. But it's also not fine to punish killers for playing well.
-
Completely pointless. Killer will just camp you and then slug.
The match is over at that point anyway. I'd rather just accept it and move on to the next.
-
We already have a clown-esque killer.
Personally, I'd rather they skip this chapter and focus on QoL and game health changes, but if we're to get another killer, I'd prefer we get an original one.
-
The Spirit, in her current state, is not healthy for the game.
Allowing the survivor to know when - but not where - she's phasing would not be as bad as people like to make out.
Now her "mindgames" are fair. If she wants to make you vault into her, she can phase in place, but risk you abandoning the loop, or she can phase at you and risk you vaulting the pallet/window.
Obviously, you'd make other adjustments to her power such as recharge rate to compensate for such a change.
-
The killer tends to earn more BP's because they quite simply do more than a single survivor.
There are 4 of you after all and 1 killer.
Just fix protection hits and WGLF'd be fine.
-
*Laughs in Billy*
But yes, big maps tend to suck.
-
This is a non-issue. The gates can spawn next to each other, or they could spawn on opposite ends of the map. It goes both ways.
-
BM is just that. BM.
It was here before us and will still be here after us. Best to pay it no mind.
-
Ruin is fine, just have decent totem placements which actually require survivors to use up time to go over and look in a spot... instead of seeing it from halfway across the map because it's in the open.
I'm looking at you Disturbed Ward.
-
You can literally just stand there and you have all the information you could ever need to track and the survivor has nothing; left simply to guess. Not sure how anyone considers this a "mindgame."
Rolling the dice isn't fun and I could certainly do without more of this. I don't feel like I've earned the hit when I play her and I don't feel like the Spirit's really demonstrated any skill in getting a hit when I play against her.
-
Needs a tl;dr as, apparently, reading much is hard.
-
@Kabu don't get me wrong, I want Spirit to be strong, but not BS.
I did read your advice btw:
The not working on anything in TR is solid. You don't hear her phase, so don't risk getting grabbed. Same with the windows, but I can't spend the entire game around windows.
The crows is extremely situational, however, as it's highly unlikely you'll ever be in the perfect spot to where you don't disturb the crows, but she does following your pathing.
The footsteps just doesn't work unless she's right on top of you, and that's not even consistent... nor does it even matter at that point anyway.
The problem is that knowing when she's phasing mid-chase would gimp her, but the not-knowing is also what makes her unfun to go against for a lot of players.
That's fine. AFK'n or suicide'n is definitely not the solution as it just ruins the experience for both sides.
EDIT: thrown down pallets is actually where she's at her best, she simply stands there and waits for you to do something. You vault, you get hit. You stay there, leave the loop or feign doing so, she phases to where she saw your scratch marks last and hits.
-
@Kabu except that I complained and then explained the reasoning behind my complaint, thus provoking a discussion. The 2 are not mutually exclusive.
I've never said I'd rather AFK against a Spirit, so idk where you got that from. I'd appreciate it if you don't force narratives on me.
-
Run Distortion, hide in lockers, be within range, fake out a direction, hide behind a gen, stand still for 4 secs then move.
Is 6 counters not enough for you? And even then, I can just loop the killer.
This thread has got to be a joke.
-
Nothing wrong with being immersed. It's just unimaginably boring. The killer-survivor interaction is the only thing I find interesting in a trial.
Of course, that's just what I find fun personally.
-
Honestly, it's more BP and less NOED. Another way to get stacks is definitely welcomed.
-
@Kabu except that the OP asked "What do you think?" @justarandy gave their opinion and I, mine. We're entitled to as much.
If you don't like that, then that's too bad.
-
It's almost like he's new or something and people haven't learnt him yet... but that can't be right. I know everything about everything as soon as it's released.
-
@justarandy this exactly. She's horribly boring to verse because your input means next to nothing... other than hope you guessed right and she messes up.
But people'll keep defending her because of the power trip she offers - just like some do Nurse. They then delude themselves into believing that because something works on a bad Spirit, it must work on all Spirits.
-
If they deliver...
Then no.
-
This is the problem with having killers so much more powerful than others it's not even funny.
5 perks would be fine on Wraith, for example, but on a Nurse or Spirit... not so.
-
@SirDreadnought 95 would be fine. Just reduce Shadowborn and MnA's angle increase to compensate.
-
@thesuicidefox I'd hardly compare nausea to having no hands. That's false equivalence.
I merely asked for truce as I'm sure you can see that we're just going around in circles at this point and I imagine it's boring you, too.
-
@thesuicidefox I don't want looping to be nerfed, or stealth. Can you imagine how boring the game would be if all the survivor could do is run in a straight line?
Personally, I don't have difficulty finding survivors and I'm pretty sure I have ears. I just feel that the change would only affect the bad survivors as all you'd need to do is just not be wandering in the open to render the increase negligible.
I feel like neither of us are gonna budge, so do you want to agree to disagree?
-
@thesuicidefox Forgot to answer your question.
I don't want the increase in FoV because "I can't find survivors." I'd like it since it gives me a headache. Granted, it'd only affect bad survivors who hide by wandering in the open or try to sit under my nose.
-
@thesuicidefox it's up to the survivor to ensure the killer can't establish LoS, wouldn't you agree? So if the wider FoV has allowed me to see them then they're bad at hiding. It's not hard to duck behind a rock or something instead of crutching on tunnel vision.
Don't be melodramatic. No one is asking for survivors to stop looping or hiding here. Please don't put words in my mouth.
-
@justarandy you don't see the problem with being forced to give free unhooks?
Yes, it sucks, but sometimes defending the hook is the right play. Killers shouldn't be punished for playing smart.
It's also not guaranteed that you see the survivor waiting for you to leave, but it is guaranteed that you will be leaving.
-
@DudeDelicious this is an excellent example of what I was trying to communicate earlier. The reduced FoV was sheltering the survivors bad play.
Survivors should actually have to try to hide (behind LoS breakers, etc.) instead of relying on the killer's [NICE WORD] FoV. If they had, Shadowborn wouldn't have revealed them trying to hide right under your nose.
-
@NuclearBurrito not so far as I know.
-
@thesuicidefox I honestly don't know how to explain it any simpler for you.
If you cannot establish LoS, your FoV makes no difference. It does not magically go through walls and wrap around objects. End of story.
-
@thesuicidefox you could have a map-wide FoV and it'd be irrelevant. If you don't know where to look, you don't find the survivor.
E.g., I'm standing in front of a rock and a jungle gym. I see the crows just get disturbed from behind the rock. My FoV angle could be 87 or it could be 870. If I don't check around that rock, I don't see the survivor.
I think you're confusing LoS and FoV because what you're telling me is that no survivor avoids detection by you if you look in their general direction which is both extremely anecdotal and absurd anyway.
-
Bye, account literally made just to complain and say they're leaving.
-
@thesuicidefox knowing where to look and seeing more are two different things.
If the killer spots you solely because of a wider angle of vision, then you're bad at hiding. Period.
You shouldn't get a free pass because the killer's come down with a bad case of tunnel vision.
-
@Carpemortum you could get the camera to clip into it by hitting it lol.
Nowadays, it's done differently and only with Billy, I think. But I don't think I can discuss working exploits without a friendly visit from a mod.
-
@immortalls96 it's where you look inside a locker without actually spending the time to open it.
-
@justarandy except they added the EGC, preventing survivors from holding the game hostage once the hatch is closed.
I agree camping is boring, but it's a strategy nonetheless. Hiding forever wasn't.
-
Your tweak literally changes nothing.
Survivors could simply wait outside "x" meters just like before.
You admit yourself you didn't play many games during that PTB, so why should we consider your recount as valid reason to give this mechanic a second chance?
-
It baffles me to read that people enjoy being removed from a match way earlier - even if they get camped and then tunnelled - all because someone spent 7K BP.
Personally, I find them exceptionally boring to use and be against. I'd balance it quite simply by removing it.
Make ivory the ultra and cypress base kit.
-
You're an actual pepega if he grabs you off the hook like that. You have 3 seconds to react and he growls anyway.
Clearly, we must nerf Wraith.
-
I've never understood what's so fun about rolling the dice constantly and hoping she either messes up or that you got lucky and guessed right.
There is no mindgame there for a good Spirit. I get why people play her, the power trip is nice after playing a killer like Wraith, but my days, I couldn't main her personally.
-
Games could use with some slowing down, but Solo and SwF must be brought closer together.
-
"I only mori spammed you for 2 minutes, why'd you DC?"
Annoying things tend to annoy, OP.

Okay, this is the last time I am responding to you. No, I am not going to apologize to you (especially with the way you are behaving) because initially you came in insulting me and then shooting down my opinion and providing no other meaningful alternative. And now, I told you to stop derailing the topic or at least respond with good criticism and I still leave that door open for you to respond with a meaningful alternative to buffing bloodlust, but if you are just going to keep arguing and expect an apology then just leave and go to another forum post because I won't respond and I will report you for derailing the topic and harassing me.
Oh, give me a break.
I actually came in poking fun at the fact someone suggested you should just learn how to run boring windows such as the Grim Pantry one more "efficiently." You then got all defensive and completely mistook obvious sarcasm for a personal attack. Something you seem to refuse to acknowledge. Ironically, I was actually defending your post.
No meaningful alternative? Again proving you don't read what I type. I'll quote it again for you: "Crutchlust should go along with the dumb loops that require it."
Do what you feel like you must. I've set the record straight and that's all that matters to me. We're done here.
-
Quite frankly, I'm glad it's gone. A free health state is a terrible design idea and I have no idea how it got through to begin with.
If they were to change it, maybe reduce it to two protection hits or make it two safe unhooks.

Stop. Just stop. Please try not to derail the topic and keep it civil at least.
I believe what you should have responded with was an apology.
You were the one who derailed the topic when you started an argument over nothing simply because you misunderstood my post.
But to top it off, you double down and accuse me of derailing the topic. If you'd bothered to read all of my initial post, you'd notice that I actually had a suggestion and commented on that instead.
Edit: Just noticed the triple post. I love this forum.

- You can just quote me or just post a reply here and I will be notified.
- You need to do better with your sarcasms because the way you worded seem like it was a serious suggestion by you
- Don't say, "in all seriousness" and then come back and say, "it was sarcasm"
- Go to the general section if you want less serious topics. I am trying to start an actual conversation with the community to solve a serious issue about long chases.
4Head is a pretty obvious indication of sarcasm. And the fact I then go "in all seriousness" makes it even more apparent that I was being sarcastic before and am now being serious. Hence, "seriousness."
It's not complicated lol.
