The only buffs I would give him is add on changes/buffs and make rat liver base kit
-
Looping is stupid and should be reworked or overhauled, cause no new player is going to look at running in a circle and say "Wow that looks fun!"
-
One where I have genuine fun
-
Yeah there is nothing wrong with it, whether is was for comedic effect or just because it was a boring game there is nothing wrong with it.
To DC is in the choice of the streamer, it could look stupid on your end or funny/understandable.

The perk is very unfun to face at times but it has nothing to do with being toxic.

I never really find a good use to them besides Midwitch and Deaddog saloon
-
I just bought the game, should I study before I play?

I think one of the reasons they are not providing a road map is because they aren't sure when they'll be releasing new maps vs reworking older ones. Even without a roadmap the pattern has still been chapter with new content, then 1.5 months later a midchapter focus on balance and reworks, then 1.5 months later a new chapter, etc.
The other stuff, like rank rewards, prestige rework, hit detection, cross progression, skill based matchmaking, etc. they don't have a solid enough idea of when they will be released so they don't want to commit to a roadmap. MMR and hit detection have needed a lot of tweaking, for instance.
Being unsure is one thing, but is it really that nerve racking to have an idea and plan to do it? They can't be that bad can they?

To this day, no ones knows the legend of Ghostface reveal mechanic
-
I don't feel like making a list because I would, but one big change I would love to have would if escaping was more exciting and rare. Kinda blows knowing you escape every other game unless your having a bad day.
-
I have put about 250 hours into the game to get all teachables on both killer and survivor side, I feel as if that was a bad idea because now its been about 25 hours into grinding to get all the perks on pig and 30 hours to get all the perks on nea and im no where close yet.

@Heartbound said:
It has happened before, so never say never.
What has happened before? Did they reduce the grind in the past?

I feel like they should increase the hook timer to 90 sec per phase instead of the what feels shorter 60 sec phases. It would punish campers harder and give the hooked survivor a chance in the end (maybe).
-
I would love alien in dbd, if they fixed the game first though. I wouldnt want to see an alien getting pallet looped rofl stomped.
-
But they said they doubled their team size since 2018?? There is no way it took them eight months to do that...right?
-
Killer is fun when you don't feel pressured, at high ranks every game is pressuring and stressful, so its only natural to only want to play a couple of games before throwing in the towel. Once MMR comes out im sure playing killer will be more fun consistently, or at least more than it is now.

Oh yeah, slugging. That's a different issue and one where tactics and how the game is meant to be played end up diverging completely.
Frankly, giving killers baseline Deerstalker could help a lot with this. There have been plenty of games where I slug 1-2 people, hang a third and then simply cannot find the slugs, leading me to getting cussed out postgame.
I strongly am against the current ranking system, I personally only play for BP so I can create more builds on my survivors and killers but it still hurts seeing that you did "bad" according to your emblems in the post game. (people can be toxic in post chat too)

That would be a step in the right direction I suppose, if true. Rewarding; but not nearly as rewarding as a constant bonus (because BP generation can be abysmal outside of bonus events sometimes and feel like you're playing and doing a whole lot of making zero actual progress with your characters).
I agree, especially since if I got rank 1 I think I would probably stop playing until the reset just incase I forget.
-
It would be nice if BHVR would increase the hook stages from 60s each to 90 sec each, cause I find myself getting to struggle phase on solo queue way more than I would expect.
-
It was leaked that at every rank reset you would be rewarded BP depending on your rank, I think its 250,000 for being rank 1. Unsure if you get 500,000 for being rank 1 killer and survivor.

It gets easier when you realize that the killer is intended to get 2 kills at most per game. I forget where I read that, but it made sense. The amount of points I can earn by chasing, terrorizing and hassling survivors while killing one or two isn't far off what I earn off a full wipe.
The problem are the annoying quests that basically force you to team wipe or tunnel a particular survivor. They aren't fun as the killer and likely aren't fun for the survivor.
Another problem is that every survivor seems to expect to escape, so when they are one of the two (or do get away) they can become BM to the extent of nastiness.
The ranking system is even screwy, I can get two kills and de-pip. Heck I have gotten 4ks and only black pipped.

Imagine being burnt out for just playing on a chair several hours once or twice a week.
Carpenters and Doctors in hospitals should take example on him.
I mean playing a trash game like dbd in a chair for hours on end is awful, at least "carpenters and doctors" do something productive. When you play a game you play to have fun not "work"
-
Im all for the ideas of new game modes, but realistically they won't be adding any new playlists until they fix matchmaking to make it more smooth and consistent. Making more game modes could easily make wait times for some people last a while.
-
Getting frustrated with certain aspects of dbd is natural, if you face hags often you could bring in flash lights and learn to loop the hag, if you are not in the mood to be daunting you could just take a break for a while.
-
Man BHVR really got themselves a rep on bugs=more bugs, its sad but true. Bad coding who knows?
-
I know that, but is BHVR really struggling that bad? At that point they need to do something like a health chapter.

lol the kid plays once a month before his rent is due.
1 stream makes him enough for rent, food, gas, and a ton of other stuff, the reason why he's also forced to stream because Twitch threatens to end your partnership if you don't stream a certain amount in a month.
Watch good, consistent streamers like OhTofu, Monto, Puppers, ones that give a ######### about their community and fanbase.
Hey man we dont need that negativity here, no0b is just figuring out life, I dont blame him for not wanting to be a dbd streamer as a career.

Hold me 😔
-
This game breeds frustration, it would be more fun and healthier if you found something to replace it or distract yourself from it until it becomes playable.
-
Never blame other players for ruining your experience, the game itself allows such behavior, such as camping, looping, or slugging and waiting for the bleed out timer.
-
Waiting for health chapter...oh wait they said they don't need one in the q&a my bad

I have no idea what changes need to be made because I'm not one of their developers. I'm just taking them at their word from the Q&A that they tried to make it work and were disappointed when they discovered that it wasn't technically feasible to do.
I wish they would offer a little more communication, like go into detail why they couldn't add reactions to the skin or go into detail why things are delayed or go into detail on what we should be expecting in the next few months. BHVR just has no communication which makes me not trust their word, I get most of my info from leaks anyways.

There's no rational reason not to use brown or yellow add-ons every game other than to brag that you can win without them. Brown and yellow add-ons are dirt cheap and obviously the devs intend the characters to be played with at least easy to get add-ons and offerings since they make them so easy to acquire.
Now if you mean a killer shouldn't be "green/purple/red" dependent then I'd agree but I don't think there are any killers currently who fall in that category.
One point im trying to make is that add-ons can make a big difference or a very small one and that is categorized as Good/green-pink and Meh/brown yellow. With exceptions of the demo gorgon playing with white or yellow make very little difference in anything, Im looking to have fun not get ez wins. The pig has fun addons for example, maybe not amazing but they change how the games play out which is good.

I mean I'm sure it's hypothetically "possible" to do it but it requires big changes to the game engine for some reason just so Legion can have funny neon emoji faces they're not going to bother.
What "big" changes would have to be made? If the skin is going to be an outfit that means it can be its own asset, just program it where it has reactions?
-
It was leaked that cross progression will only be with PC/Stadia/Nintendo switch, sorry console users better hope these leaks are scuffed.

Survivors definition of this game are killers are not aloud to kill survivors, and survivors are always right. Why can't killers complain about SWF, or keys. It always has to be ahhhhh your camping, your tunneling.
I agree with you that the community is toxic with people who main certain roles, I am a rank 1 killer and survivor and main killer. But nothing sucks more than dealing with camping/tunneling as a survivor or looping/SWF as a killer. There is problems on both sides but thats not what this thread is about.
-
The OP is just frustrated with the game guys dont need to call him out on it, I wouldn't blame him for getting fed up with the never ending bugs
-
After hearing they wont do a health chapter because they have a big enough team to where they dont need one and then turn around and say we have "technical limitations" on the legion skin makes me angry.
-
I dont mind that dbd can be competitive, I do mind though that you cant play it without being competitive. Dbd is not about having a good scare and having fun its about "winning" sadly.
-
The game idea is fun, but the way it is able to be played right now is ridiculous. GG bhvr

None of these are good ideas. Camping and Tunneling are both valid strategies. Albeit they can cost you the game when poorly executed, but the point still stands that they're as much a part of the game as looping is.
I agree that they shouldn't add gimmicky mechanics or number changes to "fix" tunneling or camping, but like you said that looping is apart of the game too it makes me wish that they would update the core aspects of the game so looping isnt so needed and same with camping and tunneling.

Facecamping has its reasons if it's not just go away and leave a killer just doing it just to do it.
If it's endgame in the killer really has no reason to leave the hook I'm not surprised if they facecamp or if the killer can see a rescue party clearly trying to hook dive before they can even leave the area.
Honestly when it comes to tunneling there are three types of tunneling.
The mindless I don't know when to break the chase tunneling. This is usually the type of tunnelling that will almost always lose games so I don't know why people have such a problem with it.
Survivor farming tunneling- this is when your genius teammate decide to unhook you right in front of the Killer either they cooked dived to get that saved before anybody else or they saved you when they're in the middle of a chase for absolutely no reason. With this type of tunneling as annoying as it could be you really need to be telling your teammates to stop doing that rather than moaning at the Killer. Fix the source of the problem not the people who take advantage of the symptoms
Then you have specific survivor tunneling- this is where I kill that is good enough to not need to break the chase but will go after one survivor relentlessly. This is the most problematic type of tunnelling but there's really not much you could do about it besides just hoping you your teammates can get as much done as you waste the killer's time
When you solo q you dont get so lucky that your team does gens let alone saves you from hook. So when a killer camps or tunnels you, its up to you and only you to save your own skin whether it be DS or unbreakable.

Sure. I can imagine.
Thing is - how do you 'fix' it without frustrating killers further?
Hell, I find palettes to be the most annoying thing ever, but removing them would break the game...
Hmmm...
...Or would it?
Palettes dont frustrate me at all as the killer, was frustrates me is that there is nothing else like the palettes, instead of adding more interactive to a chase just add or subtract more palettes. I hate how many palettes there are on some maps and hate how few there are on others.
-
There is no defending this, this should never happen, if the survivor escapes they should at least black pip.
-
I believe that camping and tunneling is unfun and bad for the game, there is no reason to balance around it if it shouldn't be a game mechanic at all.
-
It's just a little annoyance that has been in the game for WAY too long. It gets annoying when a killer does it and it gets annoying when you have to do it as a killer.
-
This game is not new player friendly, but it is fun with friends. So you can convince your friends to get it and play with you, otherwise you might want to wait a while for anything good to be added to the game.
-
This is why they need to do a health chapter or add some new objectives or mechanics to mix up the game into something that is more manageable and fun.
