I don't agree on this. I've played both Left 4 Dead 2 and Dead Nation. Both are zombie games, but L4D2 is first person while Dead Nation is a top-down twin-stick shooter. DN was far more engaging and scary than L4D2 ever was. One time, my wife and I were playing on the highest setting we had unlocked, and got swarmed by zombies. We paniced, and started shooting. After a bit, I realize we both were still shooting despite all the zombies being destroyed. I never felt that panic with L4D.
The game mechanics, visuals and audio presentation make the fear, not the choice of camera.
The game mechanics, visuals and audio presentation are balls in dbd, and welcoming some creativity wouldn't hurt much either huh?
-
Will it be on next gen consoles? Yes. Will it be optimized and run smoothly with no problems? No.
-
Don't worry m8 there are many other people that feel the same. Take a break for a while, you'll enjoy doing nothing rather than playing this game.
-
Game is outdated really.
-
Survivor is too boring to play I admit, but killers at max potential vs survivors at max potential are very weak in comparison. That doesn't mean nerf SWF or survivors though, the game is just in need of some big changes which the devs wont bring to the table. No need to bicker over it.
-
Game community is ruining the game, BHVR isn't helping. You're making the right choice.
-
I really don't think she is that hard to play, more complex to understand at high level play, but not hard. If I want to relax ill play fun killers, but if I want to sweat ill play nurse or something. 99% of the time I don't want to sweat though.
-
Im on the forums more than the actual game nowadays, dont blame you for not wanting to play it
-
If he were to get a rework I think he should
- Have the aim down sights take a second or two
- Make the range of the spear from 20m to 32m
- Make hooked survivors hit by melee insta down
- If slinger cancels his ads it takes a second or two to recover
- Reeling time is extended to make up for range
- The reeling is more powerful to pull survivors around objects
- The reload is extended by 2-3 seconds
-
Gets 1k "Entity Displeased", Gets 2k "Entity Displeased", Gets 3k "Entity Displeased", Gets 4k "Entity Displeased"
Entity wants you to suffer more than anyone.
-
I don't think that would be very fun to do, honestly they should just give him all of the traps right off the bat, I don't see any problem with that.
-
Just gotta wait till the game isn't repetitive garbage

Who hates tru? What has he done?

It's too strong. Be honest. It's actually too strong.
- The effects it has overshadows every single other killer perk and perk combo.
- It's carrying trash players through lobbies where the survivors simply just get unlucky with the totem spawns.
- It's overboard on good players and especially on good killers like nurse where you do not have time to do totems.
- It requires little skill to use (walking over to a gen is not skill).
- It's extremely inconsistent to counter and too difficult to counter at times.
- It's good on literally everyone.
- It's quite annoying (not a reason why it's strong or needs a nerf, just a personal opinion of mine as slowdown builds are even stronger now with this combo).
Compare this to the Pop Corrupt meta we just had which IMO is a healthy meta combo:
- Does not overshadow every perk and perk combo.
- Took skill to capitalise on so trash players weren't carried by it.
- A bit overboard on strong killers, but never felt as oppressive as Ruin.
- Has a consistent counter depending on teammates skill.
- Good on all killers, but some did not benefit from it well enough in order for it to be used over other perks.
- A bit annoying depending on your preferences.
I know this post is going to be flamed, I just wanted to put this out there as I truly hate Ruin Undying with an absolute passion and its killing my want to play survivor. To see it constantly pushed as a healthy perk combo disappoints me as it has many glaring issues on both sides that for some reason people don't seem to acknowledge.
More importantly, if the game actually starts getting balanced at it's core (maps are fixed, gens are balanced, etc) then if ruin undying is still here then it will dominate every lobby and I have no doubts about that.
(Also yes, DS is an issue, it's just that you see 100x more Ruin Undying killers than you do 4 man DS UB squads, so don't think I don't want that nerfed too. K thanks).
It feels oppressive because its early game is really good, the more totems you do the less powerful it becomes and it become easier to find the hex and destroy it. The only nerf I would propose it when you cleanse undying it gets rid of any other hex that it had revived. Undying is nowhere near OP it is just a strong perk that can be added to the current meta of gen slow down.
-
They should change the core aspects of the game to balance the game not buff or nerf people who want to play with their friends
-
Maps suck in general, sometimes you get lucky sometimes you don't no matter what role you play. They need to add something more than just "breakable walls", maybe new mechanics that survivors and killers can interact with on each map. Like opening and closing doors on some maps, just something more interactable and less permanent like vaults, pallets, and breakable walls.
-
I think it is coming on the 20th of October
-
Love using it on solo Q, really gets everyone on gens
-
It was nerfed pretty hard, did not have fun with it on the ptb, had to run legion to get any use out of it.
-
In a horror game competitive doesn't come to mind, so when dbd is introduced as a competitive game it tilts some heads. I wish dbd was focused on more casual play and adding systems and mechanics that are more fun to use rather than "useful" or "skillful"
-
My favorite part is the fact that 1k's and 4k's are more common than 2k's or 3k's
-
Literally just played against these exact guys lol
-
Looping is repetitive and stupid, wish they had something to replace it

The game has lots of built-in incentives to play in a fun way. For example, perks like BT and the emblem system punish killers that camp the hook. Perks like DS punish killers that tunnel (although the devs have said that's not the only goal of the perk). The emblem system also rewards getting lots of hooks and hooking every survivor at least once, so killers are punished for games where you slug and quickly snowball, camp people on the hook, or tunnel some people and ignore others. The "safe hook rescue" system incentivizes survivors not to farm their teammates off the hook. Perks like WGLF and Kindred along with massive BP and emblem rewards from unhooks incentivize not leaving teammates to die on the hook. Perks like BBQ and Devour Hope encourage the killer to leave the hook and go chase someone else. Etc. etc.
Still, some people don't care about that stuff, and that's where trying to play in a way that's fun for the other side comes in.
I played a hillbilly yesterday running Ruin and Tinkerer that camped shack relentlessly during the game. He ("he" meaning "the hillbilly") would intentionally try to bait saves by sprinting away and sprinting right back, or by appearing to commit to a chase with a nearby survivor before spinning around and running through shack to make sure no one was saving. We had one (at first) and (eventually) two people powering through gens while he camped, and we finished two or three gens will he was camping the first guy. He ended up snowballing and 4king before we got all 5 done. In the post game chat he said that he knew whenever a gen would hit 70% because of Tinkerer and he was not going to leave shack until his Tinkerer proc'd. When I hadn't pointed out that he still hadn't moved for any of the gens we completed, his response was "Well, I wasn't going to make it anyway so why would I leave?". I didn't like that response. 1) You're the hillbilly and it takes 24 seconds for a solo survivor to finish a gen after Tinkerer procs. You would absolutely make it. 2) Are you seriously saying that your game plan is to get a basement hook and then to only stop camping shack if the survivors get a gen right near the shack to 70% or more progress? Sounds extremely boring.
Is this hillbilly justified in playing this way? Absolutely. It's his game and he can play how he'd like. Still, these are the sorts of cases where I really appreciate when people are making fun a priority. It's not all about killing survivors. It's more fun for both sides when there's more interaction between the killer and survivors. I make this a priority when I'm playing both sides, and I'm glad that OP does too.
Wow thanks I didn't read it
-
My bad, only read title and list.
-
It is a bit strange that you have to "try" to make it fun for survivors and yourself. It's almost like the devs forget they are making a GAME.
-
I feel like there isn't enough killer sided issues in this list, not that there needs to be more its a 1v4 game of course.
-
I do think they need to change the games foundation and shake up the core gameplay but who knows if they will.
-
Huntress Freddy and Bubba, all just killers I just don't enjoy facing
-
Clouds are much bigger and last longer while survivors are not slowed as much.
He only gets 3 bottles and can get to 6 with add ons and reloads faster the less bottles he has to reload.
-
Im sure they would make it optional
-
I think if done right it can be used for entertainment purposes, creating new interactions with fellow survivors and maybe the killer can hear proximity voice chat too. Would definitely create some enjoyable moments.
-
I often enjoy using perks to create interesting interactions between different killers against survivors, but I often run into a halt after a few games of that build where I fall back into playing "boring".
-
Nice.
-
I like the idea of environmental killers with global effects, it opens up for more creative playstyles. Good idea!
-
Plague is perfectly fine, never had one game were I felt underpowered in chases as plague.
-
Would be nice to see a skin like that, need more pointy head
-
Seems about right
-
Generators are fine the way they are, its other factors that stress the player into thinking they are being "gen rushed".
There are too many factors that play into dead by daylight that could affect how the game plays out.
-
After playing a while, the game can get very repetitive very fast. Make do with what you have and try to have fun otherwise maybe play another game until your back in the mood.
-
Nerf PH more he's too good of a low A tier
-
Good Ideas, but some seem too tedious and would be to complicated for some players. The simpler the better
-
I get tunneled about 1/4 games and camped about 1/6 games I would estimated, camping is less of an issue for me personally.
-
Congratulations you are one rank closer to death.
-
This would be an amazing idea that could open up endless amounts of creativity for players and the devs.
But pessimistically I know this will never happen sadly.

Spirit doesn't really require much skill, nor does she have a very high skill cap, once you learn how to play basic m1 killer, you can play spirit well, since you know how to track using scratch marks and injured noises.
Idk thats just me I usually destroy as blight but struggle some games as spirit
-
I personally find the blight to be on the same playstyle of nurse and spirit and to be difficult, but I think blight is the easiest to play out of the 3
-
I would take that as a complement lol
-
I think tunneling is annoying to face when your a survivor but it should be allowed in the game and should not be looked down upon. It is a valid strategy with the right judgment and could make or break a game.
Now I STRONGLY think that camping and tunneling should be removed in some way, maybe a complete overhaul of core game mechanics, but until that day lets just try to have fun.
