  • Keys :

    • Every chest is instantly unlocked when opening.
    • Lucky key makes you have less odds at being obsession and gives higher odds at better items.
    • The gates are opened 50% faster.

    Maps :

    • There is no usage amount, they give permanent effect for 12m radius. Can be increased with addons to 24 max.
    • They will always show the location of the hatch once available no matter how far away.
    • All gens are displayed at all times.

I think this would make both viable in both low and high mmr.

  • I wish the devs would change Freddy''s snare animations to his hands coming out of ground trying to get the survivor.

A lot of Freddy stuff could use a good overhaul to make it scarier.

When teleporting to a gen , when port is at 90% make a Freddy jumpscare if someone is still on the gen.

Make the fake pallets dissolve into snakes and stuff.

He is the master of horror. I am very disappointed with how they handled him.

    Make Freddy scary.

is that not like twins victor? Maybe you can play MR X or Nemesis by switching between them and they get different abilities. when you control one, the other one has worse stats and powers though i think you need AI killers first.

Nah , it would be an ai controlled mr.x . He is too slow and too different from nemesis for the player to control. They would have to do a lot more work to get him to be of value as the primary pursuer. As ai he would be a slow roamer that always knows where the next target is , can lunge and instadown in narrow corridors. Can't be destroyed but unlike 2 zombies , he alone gives less info but more reward if he punches someone. And since he is always on the move towards the nearest survivor , nemesis could use that info too.

  • Nemesis :

    Iridescent Dog Collar

    • Zombies are replaced with two zombie dogs
    • Dogs move at 115% speed and can track scratch marks
    • Dogs will bark if they see a survivor than begin to chase
    • They do not respawn if destroyed

    Iridescent Fedora Hat

    • Zombies are replaced with Mr. X
    • He moves at 60% speed
    • He always knows where the nearest survivor is
    • His lunge attacks always down surivvors
    • Cannot be destroyed

Now THIS is how Nemesis could be even more fun.

  • It would be nice for BHVR to coop with the popular youtubers and streams more. They are major drivers for the player base. When one of the favorite youtubers would move on to a new game , many would follow them. Reduced exposure from that would generate less new players. I'm mostly talking about top 10 or something like that.

  • He NEEDS basekit trap bag. I like to play with Trapper but these days gens fly too fast to have the luxury to use the full potential of his traps.

I can elaborate but I don't think I have to.

    yes..... Yes.... YESH.

    Devs , please add.

  • I played with Nemmy on RPD and after a bit of game BIll wanted to get out. He just gave up and did not run anymore. I tried to get him to run but nothing. So I placed him on a hook. As I made my way ahead few corners later I got an unhook prompt. I decided to return to chase whoever showed up only to find him standing under the hook alone. He hit 4% ! Nobody else was around.

Having no other choice I hooked him again and he left quickly.

  • The worst : Baby Leon

    The best : Vet Leon

This is what killers see when they spot p100 Leon :

DUDE yeah something like that is possible, to have her in the game would be insane!

Given the track that BHVR is taking , Nemesis - Wesker - ??? . It's possible.

All RE chapters were highly successful so its very likely , no other char is left but her. And not to mention that she would be the moneymaker all right :P

  • I can see him teleporting in short ranges in a swarm of bats. Like nurse but stronger and faster, while cooldown is longer.

Anyone he mori's become vampire bots to chase other players.

    Sounds op but its fun.

Also .... when mommy Dimitrescuh ?

  • Both Demogorgon and Xenomorph have an official tunneling pass. So for them it is natural. Get it ? :P

  • Whatever it is labeled as , it is still an advantage that originates from outside the game's source code. The amount of info comms can give to survivors can make or break strategies. Not to mention constant live broadcast of every move the killer is making. This can impact certain killers quite a lot. If one survivors see you do something , all of them instantly know it across the whole map , yet they are not supposed to know.

Unless devs throw in a lore entry on how survivors can telepathically communicate in the trials , it is an outside-the-game advantage.

"I will agree with this if we can get an official statement from a dev/community manager on what the game is balanced around and what they consider to be an unfair advantage. I've seen nothing to state what the game is balanced around, other than stats. The only official stats I've seen seem to show that the game is fairly balanced between all MMR and the top 5% MMR. Which doesn't indicate that voice chat is or isn't causing an unfair advantage."

Anyone with an even remotely decent amount of hours in the game knows the game is not balanced around SWF, that's just common knowledge and is generally a pretty unanimously agreed upon statement by killers and survivors alike. I wouldn't put too much thought into kill stats either as they are extremely flawed for a multitude of reasons, which is also why even the devs specifically state not to draw any conclusions from them, as you're doing here.

True , it's what I was trying to point at. No matter how it is labeled , it does give players a very decent stream of info on the killer, fellow survivors, map objects, intentions , dangers , strategies. Which is why I would like to have a bit of trade off for the killers. Even if it is a small basekit buff when facing a full swf group.

You really overestimate the impact of Voice Comms in this game.

It can really optimize survivors when one of them says what the killer is about to do. It gives killer much less chance to surprise them.

The killer's trap is there , walk around.

    He is using this perk.

    I will save you repair.

etc. A lot of this cant be done in soloq. Same with strategy, they often decide on comms what they will attempt to do .

    @Pulsar said:

    lmao.

This was addressed in like 2017, it's not cheating no matter how much you might want it to be.

Try to adapt instead of complaining about something that isn't an issue.

    @Mockingjay_S451 said:

As if anybody thinks being on coms is cheating. 🤣

Anything that increases win odds by using external software could be considered "cheating" .

Even if devs have given comms a "special treatment" by removing it from the "no external software" rule, it is absolutely an advantage against the killer that the survivors were not supposed to have. Advantage that the game was not built to support. If DBD had Voice Chat , than yes it would not be cheating in the slightest.

Were killers balanced against comms ? No, because there are no comms in the game.

As stated above : the majority of trials are made up of solo queue (56%), duos make up approximately 40%.

Which means that swf teams of four with chat on are a very small minority. One that gives devs no time to balance against. One that uses software to up their chances. So no reason for killers not to be balanced against that.

The basekit that can be given the killers with a special condition :

If survivor team consists of a pre-made group of 4 friends , the killer will see an aura of a random survivor every 40s for 2s.

Since survivors broadcast everything to each other , the killer can be given a bit of that info too. No arguments against something like this.

  • @Xernoton said:

It is not against the rules by any means, so it is not cheating. The devs fully support people to play with their friends. The fact that they use a third party software to communicate doesn't change that because it doesn't affect the game directly.

They are trying to bring solo queue closer to SWF and balance killers around that. This is no easy task and I doubt it's gonna get much better than it is now. You can't really "fix" solo queue because nothing really broke but that's material for a different discussion.

One thing I would like to see for survivors is some kind of chat wheel during the game with simple options like: "Killer is near.", "Gen nearly finished.", "Heal me." and "Going for the unhook."

If you want to kill an online multiplayer coop game effectively, then all you have to do is punish people to play with their friends. By the way, you are probably playing against way more SWFs than you think. Peanits shared some information about how many people actually play in SWFs some time ago and (if I remember correctly) the majority of games have at least 2 people playing together.

Which is why I also doubt that the SWF and solo queue escape difference is nearly as high as it's made out to be. It might be true for 4 people SWFs but not overall.

So given that most games tend to have swf , you'd say that killers were always balanced against swf (often with comms)? That might show why killers tend to be op against low level players and soloq who have no comms.

The chat wheel seems to be a brilliant idea as it brings most things swf say on comms to soloq players. Devs should totally add this. You should post that in suggestions/feedback.

  • I recommend therapy with Dr King. His office is at "King Wolfe 2" , youtube. At least 10 sessions will do.

  • Do not follow the survivor rule book. Follow the killer rule book and do what needs to be done to sacrifice all survivors to the entity. Their job is to do what they can to survive.

  • It the best possible strategy for the killer. Make it 1v3 as soon as possible. Same as survivors ignoring totems, items, chests etc and just repair gens.

Should he be a chase killer similar in strength to Blight/Spirit/Wesker but only when asleep?

He could even be stronger. Not being able to chase survivors out of the dreamworld would be the balancing tradeoff. Also this would make him as canon as possible, almighty in dreams and powerless outside.

  • He is not really Freddy.

Freddy is a nightmare demon. The master of horror. Yet this game fails to depict him right. He is not scary in this game and is not trying to be scary at all. He should be able to do all sorts of things. He is almighty in his dreamworld , yet here it only gives him some lame powers. Also he should not be present outside of the dreamworld. Maybe only during the end game collapse the entity can pull him into reality if all survivors are awake.

But he needs a total visual and powers overhaul.

  • Oh come on people ... Leon is just a rookie. He just got into the RPD.. (If he had RE4 outfit then it is not excusable)

  • Either introduce every possible option and have at least one character represent it or do none. It would be very ugly to have double standards and to ignore others. Often black characters are added to include diversity but asian , indian , native american get shoved to the side as company declares it introduced diversity. If we are going the route of diversity , sexual/race/religion , either include every single one or keep the whole thing fully ambiguous. I tired of "minimal" diversity just to be able to state you have "diversity". No one left behind, period.

Seeing as each and every original character in the game has quite extensive lore, and romance is a part of almost everyone's life at some point or another, that alone is reason enough to justify the inclusion of LGBT+ characters.

It would hurt more than help it. If all chars are left ambiguous , you could see each to be whatever you would want them to be. If we label everyone to be something specific , it would lock away chars from people. Imagine 85% of chars being hetero. Suddenly you could only identify with a few.

But right now most chars can be seen by everyone whatever each individual wants them to be.

  • I feel this might be a bait post to get people to do the survey... so many say that they did not get the question.

    sus.

  • Most killers tend to break the 4 player teams into 3 player as soon as possible. It is very logical. Common sense in strategy.

    Vs 4 players :

    - you hook 1, 2nd comes to rescue , 3rd and 4th on gens

    - you chase 2nd to prevent unhook , 3rd gets off a gen and saves , 4th still on gen !!!

So either way one is always on the gen and you are losing overtime. If survivors are good.

    Vs 3 players :

    - you hook 1 , 2nd comes to the rescue, 3rd on gen.

    - you chase 2nd to prevent unhook, 3rd gets off gen to save. Nobody on gens now !

No gen progress so game is going in your favor. But since survivors genrush you will often end up late to apply this play.

To achieve this quickly killers tunnel. It is a controversial tactic but no different to gen rush. Survivors ALWAYS genrush. It is the primary objective for them. And to break genrush you must get them busy. But to maintain 4 players being busy requires very complex play many killers lack. It gets even harder if survivors are skilled. So aim to eliminate a survivor early.

    Few pro tips :

    - keep track of who is where and what they might be doing or intend to do

    - keep track of how many hooks each survivor has. Do not choose to chase those who have no hooks or have just 1. Those with higher number or hooks are a priority.

    - always go for the weakest looper , abandon chases if a survivor knows what they are doing

    - survivors will waste time to heal , or better time of other survivors to heal them, so that means they are not on gens

    - proxi camp is IMPORTANT for reasons stated above. Survivor on the hook will need a rescuer. Chase this one to force another survivor off a gen to save instead. But down another as quickly as possible to repeat the process.

    - If a survivor was unhooked while you are not chasing anyone , you lose here.

    - at the start of the match identify 3 generators that are close to each other. You know why. Most survivors with deja vu will target these. Do not let them progress on them. Hook near these. If they succeed you will have final 2 gens spread out across the map and lose the game.

    - do not chase entitled survivors. They will approach you and tbag to make you chase them. Do not fall for it. Most likely the other 3 survivors are on gens and this one is a good looper. Let them goof off as long as they are not on gens. But If within range hit them to force time waste on healing and chase those on gens.

    - chack your area before picking up a survivor for any hiding friends with flashlights and identify close hooks. Then hook.

    - near completed gens are a bait for survivors. Use it. They WILL return to them as soon as you turn the corner.

    - do not fall for deception. If any survivor is gesturing some nonsense , down them . Unless they are the last one. Down in any other situation. Gen/unhook/gate might be happening behind your back.

    - identify weaknesses and strengths of your killer. Focus to boost one or the other with perks. If you do both you will have a balanced killer but might need a skilled play to get the value of it.

    - watch King wolfe 2 on youtube. He uses most of above really well. Observe how he plays and thinks.

    - info perks are important. Do not waste time searching who to chase. Know where the next target is in advance.

    Super pro tip :

When looping do no break a pallet if an area behind the survivor is not in your favor. Spin around so they will face the side that has nothing in it. The direction in which you will catch them before they reach another one. If you do not do this they will reach another pallet and you will lose bloodlust . Control their movement.

  • I did not bring it once and a survivor body blocked me at the gate so the killer would kill me. I did most of the objectives too.

Also , is reporting useless without video evidence ? Is the report form just cosmetic without it ?

  • Pretty simple. Make him lore accurate. Absent in wake world unless the gates are powered. Deadly in dream world. More jump scares in dream world.

Wdym, if I have a flashy and notice a killer has flashlights I just stick to gens like normal. I’d I wanted to sabo, I’d bring a sabo build not a flashlight, the people who have flashes generally aren’t running that. Also, if they blind you at pallets, they are losing distance in a chase, it’s generally a bad thing to have happen in chase lap I’m pretty lost on what you mean with that. I’d I brought a flashlight, and that caused a killer to bring lightborn instead of a more useful perk, that’s a big W imo

You would stick to gens but there is a flashlight in your hands rather than a tool box. A point for the killer. Also every pick up is now a near certain hook , no saving survivors. Also a big point for the killer. Gaining distance after a pallet will only burn through more pallets in the map faster , instead of stalling the killer as much as possible at each pallet , one more point for the killer. Looting chest might give you one more useless item beside a key, a flashlight. Another point for the killer. A single perk doing all this is decent considering a lot of times perks see no usage in matches.

  • @Hawk81584 said:

I love lightborn, it’s one less perk I have to deal with when facing killers!

Oh but you do need to deal with it. Once a survivor is picked up there are no saves except sabotage (which wastes tool boxes rather than using them on gens). Body blocks are barely viable. Also every pallet takes less time without a stun with a flashlight. And .... all survivors who brought a flashlight or looted one just wasted a tool and gen repair speed.

That is fairly a lot of things that just one perk disables.

Friday The 13th chapter makes the most sense.

Lawsuit has been resolved for some time now and Jason has always had a standing invitation in this game according to the game director.

In the anniversary stream the devs said next killers are licensed "with a big L". The next chapter has killer survivor and a map. Survivor is easily Tommy Jarvis and the map is easily Crystal Lake.

Friday the 13th the game recently announced it will be removed from stores at the end of the year and be shutdown completely a year after that.

So yeah it all points to friday the 13th at the moment, one of the most anticipated licenses in DBD ever.

Why might it not be f13?

Well devs like to surprise and f13 is looking pretty obvious right now so maybe they would know that and so it will actually be something else.

Maybe lawsuit has not been over for long enough for this chapter to be complete yet.

Maybe it's not even planned for whatever reason.

Either way f13 is probably the best educated guess you could have.

Well ... probably Leprechaun. It has a literal capital L and is a horror movie killer too.

  • Perks that reveal killer's location to everyone like Wiretap.

  • Yeah , even offer a better cut to license holders if it takes . Make them the sponsor killers that will attract players rather than earn revenue from purchases. Its still a win win for BHVR.

I wonder weather the license killers have earned them more money by sheer purchases alone after the LH cut is removed when compared to all the revenue the players made elsewhere just from being attracted to the game by them.

  • I'd rather have BHVR only add licenses that are not time limited from now when it comes to killers and maps.

  • Ever since I switched to "console mode" I no longer have issues with the game like this. Because my chat is permanently off. Even if I was in a great game , it stays off no matter what. No toxic staff , no accountability for any action or play-style , just fun.

The community is toxic because it is all spinning in a toxic whirlpool. Killers tunnel , survivors spam flashlights, killers facecamp, survivors t-bag , until it all escalates into end game chat war. Then the next game sees the revenge from either side to random players who than also become like them. It spreads like a disease. Killing the chat permanently managed to cut it off by 80% for me.

The bots are idiots and very fearful of the killer, they tend to go to anywhere where they can use a pallet or window, so sometimes they go to the edges of a map and use the Z walls (very unsafe places), they also tend to waste pallets. However the mindgames doesn't work against them, they basically have wallhacks and know exatly where you are despite being behind a wall, also, some killer powers are mostly useless against them, for example power of The Singularity is mostly useless against them because they know exactly what cam are you using and they hide quickly for avoiding the shots.

You can give them Perks and Items.

From what I have seen so far (and I am not playing against Bots very often, almost never), I would rate them 3 out of 10.

Good to hear that they are at least decent. I do not mind at all if they cheat a bit. I'd like to see them be superior to good swf teams so they can provide the best training possible . I also have read that they are about to be improved some more in the singularity update too.

  • This is a valid strategy when he was doing so badly the entire match. It is his job to kill for the entity. Preventing 4 escapes by camping one is not a problem when facing a total loss , especially with barely any hooks. He will lose a pip unless he does something. But doing it from the start is bad though.

  • Make Freddy not be present while awake but make him much more powerful inside the dream world. Its lore accurate. It will get people to prioritize waking up. Also make him stronger the more gens are done. It was a goal with his perks.

  • I do not want to start another thread for a similar question but ... how good are survivor bots atm ? Did they receive any update since they were added , like can they use perks and randomize their strategies etc ?

If you were to rate them 1 to 10 (noob - pro swf) what would they be atm ?

Thing is, it doesn't matter if Dracula has his likeness because the iteration of that character as well as the clothing for that character are from a movie that's owned by a company and not Nicolas Cage himself, so they would still have to get the license from that company in order to get the clothing for Nicolas Cage.

Since the license we have is purely with Nicolas Cage himself and no one else, any characters or clothing from any movies owned by a company that Nicolas Cage has played in would result in it's own contract and would be it's own dlc seperate from the Nicolas Cage dlc, not to mention we haven't had any dlc yet where a new company later got a cut of an existing dlc as well because bhvr gave a cosmetic from a different property that isn't covered contractually with the existing dlc. (I'm looking at you ghostface dlc with no scream robes.)

Best they can do is make cosmetics that's loosely based on the outfits he's worn in movies, so where they look like them but ain't completely accurate to them, just enough to avoid legal trouble.

Also in an interview with Mathieu Cote, he said that they weren't gonna make outfits from the movies he's in, but from what he wears irl.

That is what I was saying. They already work with Cage , now just to work with the company too. Renfield's Dracula has Cage's face on him so they would have to work with him too. But by already working with Cage they are halfway there.

But given that Dracula is in the public domain it might be better to go original. No hassle about cosmetics nor dlcs etc..

Just thought that they could've picked up Dracula by getting the license from the company since they already chose to work with Cage for some reason. Both killer and survivor in one package.

  • @Smoe said:

Nicolas Cage's outfits not be any of the movie outfits he's worn, but rather they will be based after what Nicolas Cage would be wearing in real life.

But Dracula has his likeness , so if they already cooperate with him that is half way there to license his Dracula character.

  • Instead of endurance , add a time limited invulnerability and no chainsaw will work so the killer will have no choice but to case someone else. And wont be able to slug thanks to base kit unbreakable so they will have to hook whoever they down. So no more tunneling and camping . And this will not affect the killers too much as they can still tunnel 2 players at a time instead. And can still slug for a bit if a hook is nearby enough. I have downed 4 players within 40s , so you can definitely slug at least 1 person while chasing to down the second. Hook both and there you go.

  • The primary reason is that they are on a tunnel streak. They might have had last 2-3 games where they were the first tunneled person out of the match. So now you down them first and they know what that means , why bother wasting another two minutes to be tossed out the match instead of starting a new one that might be interesting straight away. Or rage quit because of the same reasons above. They might wait and see if they will be tunneled and then DC but frustration has taken its toll by now.

I know how it feels , I was once on those 3-4 matches where I was first on the hook despite not starting a gen until the killer has passed , having all perks in stealth etc and looping as much as I could.. I did not dc but was very contemplating to do it the moment I ended up as first on the hook yet again.

  • Thou shall camp and thou shall tunnel ... and thou shall slay 'em all. - The knight

  • The killer was not toxic. Camping and NOED are game functions that devs said are proper strategies for the killer to do their job.

The only toxic person here was that player who insulted the killer.

But make sure , and I tell you this from experience , this killer will now play even more "toxic" from now on after being treated like that in the chat.

The more toxic survivors get , the more vile the killers become. Tunneling , camping , 3gen , broken builds all become common. If survivors are gonna be rude , then who the hel* gives a dam* anymore. Play to win and have fun. You are the "killer" after all . They are not mean to be nice. Their purpose is to eliminate all players in every way possible. Its a survival game. All tools are on the table.

  • Dream World needs a rework. The whole play against Freddy should be down to this only :

    • Escape the Dream World

It's the whole point of the films. Do not fall asleep or you are in his world then. Freddy is powerless outside of it while almighty inside of it. Simple game logic.

  • I always run Lightborn . I can always dodge flashlights . But I still run lightborn. Why ? Just to p**s them off. I know they love to have fun with their toys. But I never let them. Clicky clicky .. slashy slashy .

I also run franklin's in the same time WITH lightborn. So many ways to mess with them. Fake not having LB ... make them run back for their flashlights .. only mid match to figure out that they do not even work ... hahahaahaah

Later they complain online .. meh

  • I suggested this before. It wasnt received well.

  • I doubt he would sell enough. I have never even heard about him before. Can he match the purchase power of Wesker ?

Dbd needs some high caliber killers after the knight update. Ever since he came out , I have seen him only once in the trials.

Right now , it better be Jason/Xenomorph/Predator/Pennywise/Dimitrescu/Terminators etc.. all of them will sell well.

Two low performing updates in a row would be risky for dbd.
