  • Certain ? There are absolutely zero links to the anime series in this chapter. It is from the games 101%. It has nothing to do with that animated fanfiction. Designs are from Curse of Darkness for Trevor and Symphony of the Night for Alucard and Dracula. Same with Simon/Leon costumes from their games.

  • I gave up on this game because of this. I am tired of survivors teaming up with the killer to sandbag me. Unless I find 3 friends who play this one day, I am sticking to single player games.

  • Camping and tunneling are necessary in many games when paired against coordinated swf. Sometimes there is no other way to win. Choose to lose by playing nice in these scenarios and enjoy tbags and bm after the match. Sometimes with insults too.

Recipe for happiness for all killers:
    1. If you are winning be nice and have fun ( I often go for 12 hooks here)

    2. If odds are even , play seriously and do not allow safe unhooks (feed on their altruism, zoning etc)

    3. If you are getting nuked, camp and tunnel, win and turn off chat.

    4. Load the next match with a smile

No they havent, DBDs lore is about events that havent even happened in a game/video.

It is literally his bio and origin from the games. Before any DBD interaction and actual lore. DBD lore is when they tie in the character which happens in the final section of his bio. All before this is accurate story from canon.

  • @typervader said:

You are aware its not BHVRs choice for the lore right.

They pulled the lore from the source material but have mistakes in it.

  • @Smoe said:

No, they don't need the mark and doesn't come close to that of Vecna's power level that justify the mark added onto him

Also Trevor without his weapon is just a normal human, it's the weapons that the Belmonts wield that gives them their abilities and Alucard doesn't need a mark to be nerfed out of his vampire abilities.

The Belmonts are warriors with boundless holy power in their bloodline and later on powerful magic users. The whip is just a tool specialized for Dracula since it is the only thing that can harm him. They use other sub weapons too. Trevor is an earlier Belmont, they get more powerful with each new generation. But they are not normal humans at all.
Trevor and his family were banished from their land because of their unnatural power.

  • Got two disconnects yesterday back to back. Hour later it was normal again.

  • Only as survivor. So Dracula can sacrifice him.

He literally IS Bram Stoker's Dracula. It is revealed in the final few ova episodes. Even his name is Dracula backwards.

Nobody remembers this resurrection of Drac ? :

  • I remember once running for the exit where the remaining two players were. One of them ran out and intentionally body blocked me so the killer can hit me. They escaped and I was the only one dead.

I'd say disable body blocking between survivors all together. It is not needed.

  • Rather than just going by the order of killers , I say include those that would make the game and match ups interesting. I would like to see licensed killers added too.

Myers, Alien, Ghostface, Dracula, Nemesis, Freddy, Bubba.

For originals Dredge , Singularity, Legion, Plague.

  • The only problem I have with this crossover is that we finally have a vampire but they do not bite. Kinda the whole thing. But for Castlevania's Dracula it makes sense, he's too classy to bother. He had bite attacks in a few games nevertheless.

  • Don't worry , the next one is original for sure. Just look at that …. thing … in macmillan estate. IT grows. It gonna be a nice big spider when it comes out :D

  • DBD is full of "questionable players" who engage is all sorts of messed up behavior in game and in chat. So let these in. Let the two sides collide against each other. The rest of us will just disable the chat fully and play to win. Also play for fun with those who are nice.

  • Alright everyone , listen to this. How about we rework the alien and instead of the exit gates ….. we need to escape a maze of tunnels and vents ? Pure movie horror . Right ? Entity would love this change.

  • FTP on epic is why I started playing in the first place , eventually I did contribute by buying Elm Street and Nemesis content. But on the other hand hackers flooded in sadly :/

Oooooooh! I am not really sure because I don't know much about him other than that he is a vampire LOL…I wonder what his powers will be. I know he was powerful

I wrote some of his feats in a thread some time ago:
    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3719501

He's pretty much god's opposite. Also can warp realms/dimensions meaning he can go in and out of entity's realm at will. In every game during 2nd or 3rd form he transports the Belmont into some kind of a hell dimension likely related to chaos.
Maybe he will port the Belmont into entity's realm ?

  • I'd rather they make a new chapter for him if they can get the old license. A revamp.

  • Bots need the field of view and killer detection in such. Them seeing 360 is the issue. How they use the field of view should be handled by bot skill setting. I guess the current bots are good enough for basic use and future development will make them more skilled and useful. This is mandatory as their primary purpose is to replace players in matches.

Also still no killer bots ? Can we at least get a few killer bots per year ? Like one with each update ? Even with that it will take few years to catch up with 30+ of them.

  • If killer does not know where you are you have bigger odds at crawling into a hatch. By the time the killer have tried to find you , you can crawl search for the hatch. A slim chance but still a chance. Also waste killers time in revenge for slugging. Also bigger chance to wiggle out. 3 in 1.

  • Look at the trailer. The castle in the background is the game castle. Not that lame building from the show. And games have far more lore and depth than the show btw (collectively) , you can spend some time on the wiki , there is a lot of fun reads there. The show started great but plunged into a deranged fever dream of Warren Ellis that no longer had anything to do with the franchise. The sequel with Richter went light years further from the source material than the first series.

  • He has so many weapons. He can find and switch them during the trial.

  • If he does not have a bite attack , then the whole "Dracula/Vampire" thing is useless. This is mandatory.

    Maybe summon Death ?

Transform into one of his true forms after a while ?

    Demonic Megiddo ?

Warp Reality and send all survivors into another dimension ?

    Possess a survivor ?

THIS! A little out of context but i wish this approach would be taken for everything in the game (e.g. tunneling, facecamping, 3-genning) instead of hard punishing those playstyles, encourage going for 9 or even 12 hooks. BP multiplier or something like that, "i wanna win" - Mentality will never go away, no amount of punishement will change this. Same goes for toxicity.

Hmm … putting biggest of the rewards and glory into the most wanted playstyles may get even tryhards to be nicer .. interesting idea. Toxicity though must be culled , it can reach extremes at times.

Pretty much... Sounds like the first step to an advanced authoritarian state that immediately removes your not allowed opinions and reduces your social credit score.

In China for sure. But it will never get bad like that in the western world. Especially in EU.

  • @Raconteurminator said:

The thing with shadow-flagging people is, with them not being intended to know, they A) Cannot make a conscious decision to rectify that behaviour before something happens, and B) Once something does happen, they'll still be unaware (outside of increased wait times), so they'll never be able to get themselves out of their situation.

The only reason you could possibly want a completely opaque, let's call it what it is, Social Credit system, is that you want people to be punished without an opportunity for self-improvement, you want people to be punished for, potentially, arbitrary reasons without them even knowing. Making everyone walk on eggshells isn't going to make the game better.

So rather than shadow derank we should have an ai that will analyze the tone, intent and the mood of all chats typed and immediately remove anything that it deems offensive, demeaning and insulting. And put bans of various lengths to offenders with letting them know why they got punished. This way people will know what not to do next time.

Ai got quite accurate lately in telling what is toxic and what is a joke. And it is only improving. I believe it is only a matter of time before BHVR implements one to reduce the amount of work mods already do with all the reports so far.

Once AI gets good enough it will actively observe gameplay and handle cheaters with ease too.

Also calling them mentally ill is an interesting take… Because would that not make them un-accountable for their behaviour? Therefore the whole idea to be punishing people for mental illness? You should be more careful when throwing around such terms and immediatly calling people mentally ill just because they are ill mannered..

One way or another it should not be a ticket for them to damage those around them. There are a lot of people with issues that play games online and that are very abusive. They need moderation and handling both for the sake of others and themselves.

Sounds like a horrible idea to bring ai into this… This post game chat filter already does not work well… Considering this is an 18+ game I would even want there to be less restrictions in the chat. I would like to have the option to turn of the post game filter and if needed even to forfeit my right to report someone for toxicity in post game chat if they type something out that would otherwise get filtered. Considering I agreed to see that stuff. My point here is that I don't like getting treated like a child that cannot endure mean words in a chat in a video game. Just does not feel good to me…

AI is inevitable. Toxicity in gaming is becoming a dying trend, at least once it gets compared how it used to be. Call of Duty and its ToxMod is handling voice chat which is a whole another level of complexity when compared to text chat, yet it is already a thing and this is very early into AI. BHVR themselves did studies on online toxic behavior and found that it costs companies 20% of new players on average. That is money and you bet companies will ensure that money stays in the house. Will it bring more harm than good ? I do not think so really, for a slightly more stronger grip on players to behave nice and respectful as a price , you would get the near total removal of all toxicity in return. And I think that 99% of players would not miss very ugly things said in dbd chat. Playful remarks may be sanctioned too until the ai improves but for a much greater good.

Sometimes people just like messing with other people. That doesn't make them sociopaths or even bad people. Weren't you ever a teenager?

Being called n word and wanting my "insert family member" to unalive is not messing around. I am talking about serious repeat offenders who will be quite aggressive in chat but not enough to be properly banned , and as such they will continue to do damage. Hence why I suggested that they sink lower to be matched with similar players. If toxic is from 1 to 10 , most of the times only 9 and 10 result in a ban. But 1-8 do way more community damage and player loss than extremes combined.

In fact I think that BHVR need to implement AI to monitor all chat like Call of Duty has ToxMod. You would see toxic messages get blinked before you can read them. And toxic players getting proper handling.

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/414387/shadow-flag-toxic-players-and-put-them-into-a-separate-matchmaking-pool

That sounds a bit too much… If you wanted a low prio queue for people basically throwing matches for no reason, griefing teammates, rage quitting and what not and similar to for example dota 2 you need to win x amount of games in that low prio to get out again I would be all for it. But your idea is completely overkill…

Also all demeaning comments? So calling the killer trash after he got no hit all game but fully carried by noed or something similar already gets you there? Or even better the killer being toxic all game long and you trash talking him afterwards gets you in as well? Because the chat log might be saved but the game itself is not? I'm not really a fan of that… I would love the game to have some sort of Overwatch system like counter strike or dota 2 but just putting people in a seperate queue basically forever for such small things like saying demeaning things… Come on that is a bit too much.

No excuse calling killer trash no matter what he did. Toxic comments are bad period. Never be toxic in chat no matter what.

Demeaning comments do not immediately get you there but will decently contribute to it eventually.

I also did not say forever , just not easy to get out of.

Winning matches to get out of penalty should not be a thing. Playing without re-offending should be a thing.

    @Ohyakno said:

It's wild that you think someone being "toxic" in a video game is a flag for being a sociopath.

It's wild that you are not aware what kind of things people say in the comments that a mentally healthy individual would never say. And yes, the more extreme cases are indeed sociopaths with no sense of regard towards the feelings of anyone beside themselves.

  • BHVR is losing ungodly amount of money because of these primitives. Who knows how many people each of this sociopaths have chased out of the game. They will ALWAYS target newer killers and survivors with low skill. Who will then either turn into a 4k toxic nurse or uninstall and take their money elsewhere. There should be a automatic flagging system so others can opt out of being matched up with them.

Little bit of it. Mostly I've played every Castlevania game except the awful god of war clones. He's usually not even the hardest boss and sometimes he's not even happy to be alive and wishes people would stop summoning him.

The games being platformers fail to properly illustrate the lore for him and the Belmonts. But in order to spite god he bit off more he can chew. He is now bound to be gods opposite whether he likes it or not. Belmonts are also immensely powerful beings that can level cities if not more with their holy power. Julius made the entire castle crumble while holding back when he performed the Grand Cross in Aria of Sorrow. Dracula warps realms and reality as it is nothing when transforming in many games.

Its a shame that we dont get a map. Castlevania is the main character of the series , a sentient castle that always rebuilds itself differently.

  • @Ohyakno said:

Doesn't Dracula get killed by dude with a whip on a regular basis? You're pumping him up as a cosmic threat but he's never actually won, even once

  • @HaunterofShadows said:

He actually sounds on par with the entity in that case. So the working theory is that the Entity is based on the Lovecraftian gods, many of which exist outside the realm of...existence...as little sense as that makes. It all depends on where in that hierarchy the entity is.

Castlevania Dracula will beat all the great old ones and most of the outer gods. But once you get into beings like yog-sothoth and The Black Goat with A Thousand Young, you have a problem. These two exist beyond the boundaries of reality, space, or time. They exist outside of our existence.

Then once you get into their parents, Darkness, The Nameless Mist, and Nyarlathotep (who some suspect the entity to be a stand in for) who are pretty much the reason anything exists. Nyarlathotep specifically, seems to fulfill a very similar role, being the cosmic embodiment of chaos, and ruler over all the great old ones (gods on earth). He is also known as the crawling chaos for this reason. Darkness, as the name implies the embodiment of darkness and is pretty much one massive, sentient, void that can Devour reality. The Nameless Mist, being the youngest, exists outside of reality, and can manipulate it as well as space and time as it sees fit. It, like it's siblings, is immortal and omnipresent

And then once you get into their parent, Azathoth, I don't care who you are, you're not winning that. Azatoth is the reason anything exists. Even beings that exists outside of existence, only exist because of Azathoth.

TLDR: it depends on where in the lovecraftian family tree the entity falls that really determines whether or not Dracula is too powerful. The entity is definitely NOT Azathoth, but if it's in the same generation as yog-sothoth and The Black Goat with A Thousand Young, Dracula might be on par. However, if it's in the same generation as Nyarlathotep, the Nameless Mist, and Darkness, especially with Nyarlathotep bringing forth Azathoth's will, I don't see Dracula winning that, unfortunately.

There is a great similarity between the chaos and the entity. But I feel like that chaos has an edge. Chaos is a match or opposite of a omni everything figure of Christian god and Dracula is a physical avatar that it pours all its power into. Both God and Chaos exist out of realms and time too, the ceiling of all creation. All there is or ever will be comes from that god. This chaos is similar like the same named thing from greek mythology that predated all the gods.

If entity from dbd would pick an individual on earth to represent its very incarnate (like Nea lol) and put 100% of its full power into this individual, you would get someone like Dracula. But we do not know what entity is right now, we even saw that it is a plant like inter-dimensional being that can get sick (from blight). It also depends on food too, hence the trials. While chaos is a boundless being of pure power that is a yang to almightys god ying.

I feel like that entity is a high power being that would come out of chaos much like Death itself (The grim reaper). But all that comes from chaos serves it and its physical form the dark lord.

  • I also hope its game based. The series had a good start when it followed the script of Iga (for season 1) but after that it devolved into mess. The animation was stellar , the voice acting , the fights. The story though… just a mess. It fully moved away from the source material. Even Adi Shankar himself criticized the last two seasons. Hope he does DMC rightly.
Dbd being a game it should support the game version of CV. 30+ titles have a world of fans too.

BHVR , please get the OG voice actor for Dracula.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Take him at the start of the timeline instead of at the end because it exists outside of our understandings of time

This was already attempted against him by Galamoth who traveled back in time to fight him for the Dark Lord title and failed. I have thought about this too but apparently Dracula became the Dark Lord right at the beginning. It's a title that chaos gives to its physical world avatar. He held it from the start as Castlevania castle is of chaos and he was in its command early on. Not to mention Death itself (of chaos too) served him from day 1.

Yes, I mostly agree with that.

I have some small doubts that your mentioned function would be easier to develop, but it would still solve the problem because you would then simply leave the lobby if you play Killer.

As a survivor you would still have the problem because you can't see the killer's notes in the lobby because the killers profile isn't visible here.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3708438#Comment_3708438

Yes, unfortunately I also have the same opinion. Probably won't have any priority.

Nevertheless, this also gives you a chance to remember who was a good player too. It's like a player history of good and bad deeds. It may reduce the overall avoidance between the players unlike a very clear block that would be abused by a lot of players and thus make matchmaking in certain regions even harder. Some players who may have played badly may end up changing for the better later.

I had games where I did pretty badly , enough for others to wish to never play with me again. But in other matches I went beyond what other normally do for teammates so it varies. With notes the players will gauge better if they will play or not against some. Block on the other hand is a brutal wall.

Ever heard of that thing called critical thinking or playstyle? Do you youngsters really want to be handheld 24/7?

Useless reply. If you do not wish to contribute to discussion leave the forums and do something constructive. I have 4 digit hours on this game and I am not a youngster. But unlike you who assumes that all new players are gifted mlg, I do want to improve better inclusion of all who wish to play this game and give them a chance to learn things without a frustration wall that also affects other players negatively. This is not a 24/7 thing as it happens before they even get into the first online match. Read properly , especially the last line in the first post.

A lot of players leave this game early because of this.

  • Maybe an internal command where you can post notes for every killer and the player that are local and only you can see them ?

That way you will know if you played with someone and what they did before. This can also be used for good things.

-name- "face camped, slugged the last one for no reason"

-name- "stomped us but let 2 out"

    -name-"went back to save me"

wow, that's a really interesting suggestion. I would support it. Provided it was technically feasible

None of these features is anything new. So I think that it would not take much to implement. DBD would definitely benefit from more complexity and dynamic gameplay.

  • New layer of objectives is needed.

    • Finish 5 gens (90s per one) to power the control panel
    • Use the control panel (60s, cannot regress , 2 of them on the map) to unlock 7 different storage containers (2 of them contain gate keys)
    • Find the keys and unlock the gates (normal unlocking method as it is currently, 20s)

    While on killer side :

    • Hook survivors as usual
    • After sacrifice they end up in the void realm, go there and mori them
    • If they remain in the void for longer than 2 minutes , a portal opens and they return to the trial (they remain on death hook stage and injured). But if hooked again they are sacrificed for good instantly.

  • He would lose badly against Freddy Krueger even outside the dreamworld when he has no powers. Why ? Because he went 1v1 vs Jason Voorhees to a stalemate... in hand to hand combat , no powers.

They just die? That sounds horrible... You have only 4 syringes, 3 with a certain addon... This basically means if I run this addon and infect 4 people 1 is basically guaranteed to die, unless I play so bad they manage to get all the gens done in under 3 minutes... How is this even an idea my man?

Make chests produce infinite vaccines like with the emps for singularity.

  • It needs to be buffed.

    1. Make the infection deadly : If survivor is infected for 3 whole minutes they die and a zombie spawns at their spot.
    2. While infected zombies will not chase you

Now survivors need to be careful when they use vaccines . They still have 3 hit shield from tent anyway.

We must make them remember .

  • The perks are a part of the license contract that is now once more in effect and they also exist to also incentivize sales. If they stay universal license holders of Stranger Things will be at damage as other licenses keep their perks locked thus giving more purchase value and potential. The deal of purchasing the chapter will be weaker. I doubt that devs will leave them available to future new players. This does not prevent devs to make new perks that are free to all players though.

  • There is no anticamp mechanic. There is anti-facecamp mechanic.

  • I bought Freddy for 5$ via auric cells. The next day the whole NoeS chapter was on sale for ~3.5$. I paid more and got less. I would have had Quentin if I waited a bit. Lame :P
