Well, that makes me feel better playing Springtrap. I was worried he'd be a popular pick.

Wesker, iirc Twins, and Houndmaster.
I think Pinhead can do it as well?

I'll have some trouble using Main Event again, and I'll have to just run through some loops like an m1 killer again, But outside of that half it might be fine.
-
My only problem with the knight rework, (it's also a bit buggy) is now that you can use one guard back to back. I should just use Jailer, most the time. No need for sight buffs or nerfs or map. Just Jailer. But the map change is fine.

From what i understood:
If you don't have ST characters but unlocked their perks on some characters while free, you will keep perks on these characters but you won't get them on your new characters.
If you have ST characters, you can prestige them and their perks will unlock on all characters. If you already prestiged them, their perks should be unlocked on everyone.
That's what I would have hoped, but unfortunately, I don't have them on some characters.

After 1,500 hours you were bound to feel like this... I mean that's a whole lotta Shift + W or M1.
I mean it sounds like the only matches you want are the easy ones with M1 only killers with no ability to play around pallets or windows.
A nice match with no thoughts but Shift + W and M1 holds.

I will never understand why would anyone do this, playing nice I mean.
Its just a better gameplay loop for me. I get to earn a nice amount of bp regardless of a "win" and chases on a lot of maps can be fun. I just like to mess around honestly.

Could have been early dead dawg, like real early. The main site has pictures of hooks being up there.
-
Yeah look at that, right on the dbd website too.
I honestly didn't remember hooks being able to spawn there, but went to the game site and under the map images was this picture of it.
Honestly a weird spot for a hook anyways.

I've been playing her some to get more of a feel for her. Every now and then I would grab someone out of a locker see her little hand animation. Then I go back to the regular servers and do some games. I had a quest for spirit play her and during the match I grab some people out of lockers. And then my brain connects the dots. I think it's the same animation with swapped hands.
Anyways this killer has a neat looking power, underwhelming in every aspect out of the 3gen, perks that will rarely see use. And if the face really is reused... that's fine, I like the tricksters face. Wish she would wear the rest of her mask atleast.
-
It fits the Hellraiser lore so they decided it was a feature to make survivors suffer these games.
-
@Firellius said:
When I found out that she has a brown add-on that can destroy pallets for her, I thought that half her kit would basically be in her add-ons, allowing her to customise how her power works.
But it seems that's not the case, sadly. Would've been cool if her drones were largely pointless by themselves, but got extended abilities from add-ons so you can mix and match and basically get a variety of different killer powers depending on your add-ons.
Ah, yes. the ability to choose your "Tools of Torment" if only her power were that cool... To be honest a majority of killer add-ons seem to be useless anyways, a killer with an arsenal of add-ons that could change her playstyle for each combination would have been cool
-
As any killer with a decent power, it's w/e for deadhard. For the M1 killers it's painful to see. M1 killers already have an uphill battle sometimes and having to hit a survivor 3 times can take way too much time. You have to fake deadhard on all survivors at least once per match just to see if they have deadhard which is stacking on more time in chase. Even once you know who has deadhard you have to keep faking until they use it and either take a swing at DH or let them run to a safe loop.
M1 killers are the ones who really struggle with deadhard.
-
They won't and they would never. The chapter will come out, they'll make some tweaks here or there, and then they'll move on. Like every chapter.

Mikaela also wears glasses for fashion, yet people loving her lol
Mikaela's Glasses look good but wearing 3/4s of a gas mask looks odd.
-
I played a few games as the new killer in ptb. Honestly she just doesn't seen worth it, her perks are too situational to be used and her power is visually nice but performs poorly. ( I don't want to 3 gen 30+ min matches). And I don't see myself ever using either survivor skin or perks.
(Minor note, I also don't like the Skull lady mask, it looks silly to me. It looks like she wears it for fashion over practical reasons. I mean unless her other eye Is cyber'd.)
-
There's a lot to be desired from the new killer that just wasn't met. I think her name is bit weird, she really could have just been called "The Tracker" honestly. Too much of a focus on the skull-drones but her whole gimmick is more tracking than skulls. Her perks are just weirdly situational that I don't really see them being used often. Her power as a whole just looks like knight's with less uses, and it also screams 3-gen killer and is honestly not a fun power to work around, unless you like those long games. Her mori looks like an updated Freddy's.

It seems like a very selfish perk, though I can understand it's use. With BT being base-kit, it does make it difficult for the killer to go after either one of the survivors. However, I see this perk + Guardian being a good combo for both survivors to make it away from unsafe hook saves.
I might actually use it in an unhook build though. Background Player, Borrowed Time, Desperate Measures, and Guardian sound like a cool combination.
Maybe it does just need the right combo of perks to support it, I just feel like its kind of harsh to the other survivor if its gonna be a long game. I remember people getting kind of upset to be bp farmed off hook, I get a feeling we will see more of that again.

I’m aware of this, that’s why I made the point I couldn’t see them doing this. It would undo the entire point of the hub.
It wouldn't be the first time they do something counter-productive with perks. I mean look at the new Exhaustion perk that kinda encourages the killer to tunnel the unhook. Or Self care being invalidated by COH. With how long the game has been out eventually something new will break something old. Knockout is sadly only really good for its healing and move slows. Blindness just doesn't really have a place in the game, despite how many add-ons try to use it or the few perks.
-
Blindness by itself is a status effect that only really effects SoloQ players. A Swf of any size can and will share information. Knockout causes the downed survivor to become blind on top of hiding their aura from others. A swf will not care about the blindness on the perk from either perspective. A soloQ player is left without knowing which way to crawl (if they are being slugged, the only reason to really run knockout) or if anyone will know where to go.

But the whole point of the hud was to bring solo more in line with SWF. This would just hinder SoloQ and do nothing to SWF.
And the whole point of knockout is to target SoloQs so it would be fine
-
I've said it before, I'll say it again. Blindness status effect should disable the hud. Then Blindness becomes a real status effect to use
-
Don't forget Guards on their patrol path need vision, (in most cases) to spot a survivor. A survivor should still be able to sneak around a guard. But it's also important to note that loud actions, like dropping a pallet or vaulting a window can trigger a guard in range with no regards to vision. So if you drop a knight on the 2nd floor of the school and they drop a pallet the floor under it will start a chase.
-
I think some people are misunderstanding something here. I don't actually want to nerf distortion I'm just venting about a swf game where my 1 aura reading perk was made useless.
But I guess I should say that with aura reading covering a larger and larger range and gen perks being dialed back on killer, (Were entering a jolt meta now). The importance of aura reading is growing to the point of almost being required so that a killer can constantly be chasing.
-
@Firellius said:
Gonna point out the same thing as with the old Stridor vs Iron Will: it's not one perk disabling it, it's four.
All survivors must have distortion to block aura reading in full. Aura perks still function even if one survivor is immune.
I mean, I could argue the same thing about eruption only incapacitating 1 survivor and not all 4. But it still needed to get gutted I guess?
But to be perfectly honest. I don't even mind distortion as it is, like I said this was a vent post.
-
I would gladly play a match on any of those maps. Borgo and mother's dwelling are big maps with big issues and I would take any other map in place of those.
-
Let it be proximity voice chat that the killer can hear and now its spicy gameplay. But honestly I feel like Voice chat would only benefit non-swf groups because, lets be honest, friends are gonna voice chat no matter what. But with recent survivor hud changes it feels like were trying to inch closer to something akin to swf balancing.
-
Depends on the swf I guess? I don't really judge players who just go about the game by game, swf or not. Swf just means my short games get shorter or my long games get longer. It's the groups that get together to game the killer with sabos and flashlights. Then it's hard not to judge them.

dream world used to apply a 50% action speed debuff towards healing and repairs. this was removed in freddy rework and put into his add-on's. The add-on were removed from the game. Jump rope used to apply a 5% repair penalty when in dream and swinging chains used to apply a 3% healing and repair penalty for each survivor in the dream world. Now those add-on are changed to 50% footstep sounds and 50% injury increase. I guess his dream world if you use add-on makes survivors louder. pretty underwhelming dream world.
I remember Forever Freddy, the strongest he had ever been until they gutted his add-ons because they felt they were too harsh. Now I don't think any add-on under red is good.

They aren't. They're actually very decent.
I mean they are pretty decent, once they fall asleep. But if they aren't asleep then you don't have a power. So it feels like I should only chase asleep survivors, because only then my snares are decent.
-
@FridayNightPizza said:
The snares really are useless aren't they?
I mean the snares only work if they are already in the dream, and you have to injure them or wait a minute until they work. They are also completely useless if the survivor recently used a clock to wake up.
-
They'd have to be replaced and that's a good handful of perks. But it sounds like you want OG dbd with no gen kick.
-
I think the problem with COH is the bonus healing speed it gives that can stack with med kits. I don't mind a survivor being able to self care, but honestly its just a better self care in most cases. if the healing speed bonus and self care speed was adjusted it would be more in line with the other boons.
-
Im talking about older freddy. Forever Freddy was after the rework. OG Freddy who had to wait 7 secs before he could hit anyone. OG Freddy who had Dream Aura reading and complete invisibility to awake survivors.

Maybe because they find it boring? If you don't think something's engaging, what words would you like other people use instead that you don't get offended by?
And it's not like it's a one-sided issue. There are recurring descriptors also for disliked survivor playstyles.
I didn't think I was offended by it, I just thought it was common. I don't usually stick to DBD this long. I was off and on from alpha to now. I honestly just wanted to know if that was the common phrase or if I really was just playing weird?
-
@Xendritch said:
I think it's an inelegant way of saying they don't find something entertaining or fun to go against.
I don't find those things boring per se but if I had to try to translate it it would be something like
- I don't like kinght fun to go against because his playstyle revolves around slowing the game down with AI and kicking gens
- I don't like going against scratched mirror myers because I like chase and myers revolves around jump scare hit and run
- I don't like gen regression because I don't like doing gens and those perks make me do gens more
And killers have their version of this too DH is boring or CoH is boring meaning I don't like waiting out DH or I don't have fun when spreading pressure is so ineffective because of CoH. But instead of saying all that people just call everything boring because we're all terminally online with adhd and can't focus enough to write all that out.
DH I swing into every time, no sense in waiting/baiting. And is CoH still complained about? Honestly I don't even mind that one, most my games I think I ignore blessed totems. (I shouldn't but the amount of times I really get hit by em are few.) I think the only survivor thing that can be boring for me is the end game collapse. Some survivors get to the gate and just freeze. survivor matches can be quick but not all killer matches can be.
-
Favorite: Trickster, I enjoy his laughs and lines,
^Wesker is the runner up for the same reason
Least favorite: Billy, steering his chainsaw always feel weird and daily haunts me for it.
-
Wish I could play twins, but I get this buggy feeling trying to ready a match for em.
-
Then I could run all the Gen perks. And really stall the game out.
-
its the same problem with a few other killer add ons, a lot of them just apply status effects that aren't going to matter anyways. I do think we should have just gotten add-ons to change his guards timing or chase speed.

Dh is comparable exposed perks because dh gives extra health and the exposed perks takes one away. Its the same thing if you’re gonna complain about one complain about them all.
I think your missing my point, Exposed can skip a health state, and dead hard can act as a third health state sure... but Expose isn't permanent. The situations that expose can come into play are rarer than a deadhard.
Deadhard is more constant than most expose perks its not fair to compare deadhard a nearly constant third health state, to a situational one hit. Deadhard is active so long as a survivor is injured, expose is only permanent on 1 killer (myers).

I hear killers complain about boil over but every time I use it the killer barely notices what gives?!
I imagine its when the survivor team is built around such perks is the real problem. because as a killer the only time boil over really gives me trouble is when another survivor is running saboteur or a toolbox

Here's a video that demonstrates the current problems
I thought this looked familiar, and looking through recent patch notes. I thought they fixed this one, but its just another bug that is very similar. What a messy Killer.
-
The problem with expose perks are the situations. All those expose perks you listed only really work in certain conditions, where as dead hard is anytime your injured.
I usually have to devote my perks to Hubris to get it to work. Rancor I rarely get to use because most survivors seem to know to bodyblock here. I only used starstruck on that funny build with mad grit, agitation and iron grasp. Make your choice and noed are probably the easiest of them to use, and noed now gets an aura to cleanse quicker, and make your choice does have a minute cooldown and a range, its not like its being quickly. Survivors do get a chance to hide straight away.
But deadhard can be used anytime a survivor is injured, and it can block anything that would cause injury. I don't really care half the time because I run STBFL so its free stacks. But to compare deadhard to expose is very different.
-
I don't normally play this killer, is there a game breaker with her at the moment?
-
I usually try to avoid tunneling unless I'm really spoiling for a win. Tunneling is just a fast way to make a match easier on me, knocking a survivor out of the match quickly can really help lighten the load on a killer. Gens can and will fly with four people but three are easier to manage. There are few times I do it because survivors are really gunning for those flashlight saves, or really want to be chased.
