  • I wish Pinhead.

However, I also rather think that either Resident Evil or Candyman will come.

As a survivor main, you feel BBQ being too OP and should be removed. If Killers have to use another aura reading perk. Which one would you prefer them to use?

    1. Nurse calling: once you're injured, you're likely not able to healing.
    2. Im all ears: doing fast vault reveal your aura for 6sec, you're unable to do any mind game around loops.
    3. Blood warden: block Gates for 60sec if a survivor is hooked during EGC, Killer loves to pair it with Noed.
    4. Deer stalker: let Killer see you dying, pair with Knockout makes Survivors unable to see dying teammate. Killer becomes slug master.

    Please pick a number.

Then I, as a Killer will play the exact of your choice.

    I take the 3! xD

Same. But when i get a team that rushes gens despite me playing fair and offerings being in play, i say f it and open the gate for them. You only want minimum points from the gens, go ahead, enjoy.

You reap what you sow. :p

We can't change the mentality and always just hope that our 100% Offerings will get us some good points.

Definitely seems like lobbies get stranger at certain evening times. Not sure what it is. Just to speed up the queues for all, if I had to guess.

Yes, I also think that's one reason. I then really slip into everything possible.

And that's not really a joy, especially solo, when you can't rely on your team.

Some people just don´t seem to care or do it on purpose.

Yup, that's unfortunately the case. The only thing we can do ourselves is play the way we wish others would. My guiding principle. I always try as a killer to make sure to be as fair as possible and score a lot of points for everybody. Especially when there are offerings.

It's a bubba dude, he can't do big maths like that what do you expect him to do?

Right and if he also thinks he has second glue under his feet and can't walk across the map, what should he do? XD

  • @Tsulan You're right, there are special people on both sides.

You know the situations as a killer and I also wonder what the plan is behind it, except to be a dick.

  • This happens to me especially in the evening with pleasure sometimes. I then often think (also in view of the playing style of my mates) that I slip into 3s SWF due to the long waiting times, which then have a red rank with it and the rest is not quite as good.

Somehow the whole thing then pairs us with a rank 1 or 2 killer (is fine for me, I'm actually always rank 1 or 2 myself as a survivor).

He then sifts out the weak first and then you are suddenly alone.

I often go into the game in the evening with a bad ego build and take care of myself as best I can. Or I just play killer.

In the afternoon everything is good, we are all red, sometimes a little purple in between and the games are fair and balanced.

  • If you know your wifi isn't good, don't play online or use cable. It's totally simple.

This is true for everyone who has a problem with it.

  • The build that was suggested with Stridor, PGTW, corrupt and BBQ is great.

However, if you want to keep them safe and be really hated, you can also use Stridor, BBQ - let them do their gens and then NOED and Blood Warden for the showdown! Then slug them - preferably near the totem. One or two are enough, wait the EGC until they open a gate (or open it yourself), hook the first one and watch them die if you catch the right moment. Pack a memento for good measure, preferably ebony. xD

Afterwards, if you play on PC, watch the chat, eat popcorn and have fun.

  • You should just have a stable internet connection when playing with other people?

I play mostly via the PS 4 and for online games I actually have it connected with LAN cable because I don't want to rely on wifi.

  • I have to say that the new killer piqued my curiosity - I was unfortunately very disappointed with the new survivor, I personally would have liked something more androgynous and not a second Jane (there can only be one! xD). I was so excited when the veiled avatar showed up and then she came on the PTB and I thought meh!

But really since the last Halloween event is a decent, sallow aftertaste there. It all seems somehow more loveless.

Yes, the revamped cards are nifty, but the Trickster in particular needs a spacey new card, right?

  • I think that was yesterday also with me. xD

An old lady who knocked over a Jane, hooked her and then stood in front of her with Insidious.

We had as offerings 2x Partystreamers, a cake and he himself had also played a 100% Offering. And he stood there and my Kindred said to me: Okay, do Gens and then go.

Maybe there really is a plan behind it and he has his own challenge for himself: get out 100 games with just 10K? *shrug*

  • I also take it with me more often so I can farm BP. xD I prefer it to WGLF in parts and I do it for the points. Especially now that I want to save BP for the new characters.

  • I find it all quite exciting to read and I'm also curious about the last part (it's like a soap xD), however I would find it hard if the survivors can only see the boxes with an activated trap. Pig currently has the rare addon for this and when I use this, then my survivor friends die quite often to the RBT.

If such an idea is implemented, then the timer of the RBT would have to be set higher. The traps should not be taken as a means of killing, but only cost time.

  • When I first started, I hated Bills.

I must have somehow gotten into a killer/survivor round several times in the beginning and this Bill basically betrayed his teammates to the killer. It was the same ones every time.

From then on, I was really skeptical whenever a Bill showed up in my lobby.

But in the meantime I got to know them as good mates and they will save your life, even if they go down in the process. Thy Bills! <3

  • If I had a superpower, it would extend the duration of life.

I think that when couples belong together, when people live together with animals - no being should have to go before the other.

  • As a survivor, I would date Dwight. He is so cute and I want to pinch his cheek all the time and tell him how adorable he is. xD

    Killer: Miss Amanda. Absolutely. <3

  • Right now, self-healing is just a lot available because the Archive Challenge is there.

I actually never use Selfcare, for the task I took it in. Normally I always have to look for mates forever to heal - but during this challenge I had it so often that people just started healing me or crouched next to me while I was trying to heal. Where else are you guys when I don't have this perk with me? xD

  • The killer equivalent could be Hubba Bubba? (I loved the gum as a kid, love the movies with Bubba, so that would be fine. xD)

Because in my opinion, Bubba is not the brightest candle on the cake when we look at the killers like that.

Also tried it and it didn't work. Shall have to mess around some more!

Edit: So it worked, I probably just wasn't close enough the first time.

You are absolutely right! I was not close enough. I finally got the challenge done.

    <3

    Mechanical wise he's pretty underwhelming.

I'm still going to buy him cause i just want to have fun and ocelotting people with ricocheting blades is fun.

I do expect to lose most of my games with him though and for some people can't have fun unless they win

I can see him becoming a fun killer like Clown. Although I just read somewhere that he will undergo some changes before he is released? Well, I'll wait and then decide how to buy him. xD

  • @fogdonkey said:

How to do it: Put on the self care perk. Just simply 99% your healing in the corner and finish the self heal when killer is within 10 meters. Done.

I had tried that, it didn't work. But I will try it again and get back to you if not. Thanks for the help. <3

  • @Zuruas The task where you have to heal yourself completely within a radius of 10 meters with self-care.

    In the current Tome.

  • What's wrong with the new killer? I found him very funny on the PTB.

So, I wanted to talk about why noed is so hated by the community. As many people will say, noed has a lot of counters, do totems, stay stealthy and go for gates, cleanse it and loop normally whilst always expecting it, to name a few. So it's well established that it's not op or underpowered, then why so much hate around it?

Because it feels like the survivors get punished for doing their main objective and the killer gets rewarded for not patrolling. With noed a killer can easily 4k if the survivors decide to try and save the unfortunate first victim. Also, there is no timer or how many exposed swings you have, you can do it forever if noed is well hidden or trapped. For example, I played against a deathslinger that sticked with me almost for the entire game. Last gen popped and a teammate tanks a hit on shack for some reason. The urban evading claud also get cought. Both of them downed and hooked on shack, the totem was also near that area and the gates were on the same side of the map so we had no way of escaping or getting a safe rescue, whilst being unable to cleanse the totem since it's in his patrol area. I had to lure him away from the doors so at least one of us escapes.

In that situation I felt punished for playing well and looping the killer, but the killer was then rewarded for throwing the game just to get me, because a 1 in 1000 situation occured.

And that's the exact reason it's so hated. The community believes it's used by bad killers who don't know the game/character or their tactics consist of throwing the game and get rewarded in the end with noed, which isn't always the case. Endgame builds do exist, and the devs keep adding endgame perks to make em a bit more interesting. Personally, I believe that noed is simply a second chance perk for bad/mediocre killers that don't have access to good slowdown perks or can't keep pressuring gens. But at the same time I believe it's an enchantment for endgame builds.

Tldr; it just feels punishing for the survivors doing their objective and promotes not patrolling/caring about gens.

I think I understand what you mean and can understand the frustration of the Survivor regarding on NOED. But mostly I'm not annoyed that the killer has NOED, I'm annoyed that my mates just don't do a single totem. Here's the situation: I'm a stickler about totems, I see it, I clean it. In a pinch, I have a map with or a corresponding perk to find the things.

Round starts, I see the first totem, I clean it, make a gen, clean another totem and then the killer finds me and like an absolute fangirl he runs after me. We play catch and my teammates artfully do the other generators. Also the last one.

We are still playing catch and then it comes, the moment when he catches you and I still think "Noed!" and there I am already lying. One hit, first hook. I distracted the killer and my other three! Mates didn't have time to do the last three totems? Okay, there's still reason to hope. One opens the exit gate and surely the others will be looking for the totem? Far from it, the gate opens, they all three stand at the gate and run with blowing hair into the sunset without even trying. Kindred was also at the start, they could even see where the killer is going and they leave me behind. That's actually what I don't like about Noed.

And I have played against pigs that will actually ignore trapped survivors if they see the survivor is trying to stealth to the boxes or got sandbagged.

And major kudos to those pig players that ignore trapped survivors when a gen popped. (had two or three of them so far, and they still got their kills in fair and square)

To me, it makes no sense to chase someone with an activated RBT. He has other things to worry about.

I think you can always just stay with yourself and play the way you want others to play. Whether they do it or not - you have no influence on it.

Maybe we'll see each other in the fog.

''On one hand players don't seem to take Piggy seriously as a killer because it's too weak, one of the bad killers etc - but then there are these posts where yes she is so unfair? That doesn't make sense to me. ''

Pig is a noob crusher that why. It like the pre rework Freddy, it strong against people who use the ''usual'' strat to counter M1 killer, it the same issue people have with Ranged killer, bad survivor complain that they are strong in chase. Strong survivor know that you need to make them waste time aiming at you near wall and cover rather than looping them like other killer.

I wouldn't say she is a noob crusher. She also works very well in purple and red ranks.

I can only speak for myself and I tunnel rarely, never camp and get along with her just fine. I have more problems with Clown or Trapper and have to work harder to secure my kills.

    @MeltingPenguins said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2021921#Comment_2021921

not a 'noob' crusher. A killer with an ability that cuts straight through the 'do gens and loop the killer' MO so many people have on survivor side, not just on low ranks. In fact, on low ranks it seems more likely that people will stop doing gens once they know that activates the timer.

And on killer side you often have the '4k at all costs as quickly as possible' approach. Immovable object and unstoppable force...

Pig isn't unfair as such. But the combination of factors makes tunneling extremely tempting and, well, easy, so that's one of the things that's ought to be discouraged by the game. cause heaven knows some players won't play fair.

Exactly. We want to get through all the gens in 5 minutes and escape! The mantra of most survivors.

That just doesn't work for pigs.

I like to play with her and against her. They are usually exciting rounds.

Even if there are black sheep among the pigs who irrationally tunnel people with the beeping RBT.

  • @Ravenlord80 said:

Warum?

    2. Wenn du dich davon triggern lässt, dann erreicht der Überlebende genau das was er will: Du wirst sauer, spielst schlechter und machst damit auch mehr Fehler und er tut das, was er will: Nämlich dich hinhalten.
    3. Warum?
    4. Nochmal: Warum? Schon vergessen?

  • I think there have already been several threads about this.

I do not understand the intention to then leave the person on the hook and certainly not to teabag in front of him.

People love gambling and there are some people who enjoy trying their luck when they are virtually out of danger and then once or twice try to tear the 4%, because they know there is someone who will save them. It's their kind of fun and hey, if they make it, I fix them and it goes on. I would never try it myself, because I never have the 4% anyway! *shrug*

Imagine the scenario: You're hooked and then you see your mate rushing to you the whole map just to unhook you. He does, all fine, if he hadn't had the killer on his butt, knocking you right back down because your "mate" won't even take a hit. Then I would like to have the possibility to use the selection "kick in the face" so that he can't farm me.

  • There you are the weekend times not online and here it really goes off, I hope I have read and understood everything, but also have a few comments:

If you bring one more box into the game, the timer of the RBT increases moderately, so it decimates the success a little that the purple addon brings you, which shortens the timer very much, unless you have bad luck as a survivor and really have to run all boxes.

Which brings us to the survivor gameplay: You see someone get an RBT open and then finish off your gen right away? Then it's your fault if that someone comes under stress and none of the really not good addons from the pig.

But it's that survivor genrush mentality that makes it easier for pig. Even though I have to say that I don't get many kills from the RBT - that's not what they're for, they're just there to buy time and if the survivor prefers to sit down with a trap on a gen and pull it off, then it's his problem and not the killer's.

I see this myself as a survivor again and again: Yes, there are annoying and strangely playing killers - here as an example the pig that chases me with a RBT, preferably already one activated. That makes no sense, I'm already busy and if you're a sensible pig, you know that. Then you find someone who just has the time for generators.

But as a killer it's exactly the same: survivor stands in front of me at the box with not activated trap - instead of hiding. Ideally, even his teammate led me right past him. Then I hope for you that you have DS with you, otherwise you're at least lying on the ground.

On one hand players don't seem to take Piggy seriously as a killer because it's too weak, one of the bad killers etc - but then there are these posts where yes she is so unfair? That doesn't make sense to me.

  • That is just beautiful. <3

    Dear Devs please please!!!!! 😍

It's the idea that the match must be 'won' as quickly as possible.

I mean, look at people ignoring lit totems but complaining about ruin/devour. look how many killers with insta-down abilities slug before the first gen popped. etc

It's all part of a big problem the game has and which the devs have already admitted they won't tackle. :/

Yes, this is a major problem. Survivors prefer short matches and don't care about the extra tasks that are there. That's why we always have NOED discussions here in the forum.

And the fact that customization doesn't seem to be wanted. The gameplay needs to be adjusted for each killer, that's just the way it is. Everyone has killers they don't like, find OP (my Achilles heel is Bubba btw) and want changes to.

But Piggy's traps are not what they were in the beginning and I think, both as a killer and a survivor, that she is fine the way she is currently. But that's just my 2 cents.

It's not that they brazenly try to take the trap off in front of you and expect you not to do anything. It's that they literally don't have a choice. If they hide and try to avoid you, the trap will kill them.

Unfortunately, in most cases this is not true. If someone walks past me with a beeping trap, I'm fair enough to ignore him if gameplay allows me to. But, if the trap isn't even activated? Then why not try to hide for once?

The whole thing happens the other way around, too. When I play Survivor, I save someone from the hook, the mask isn't active, so you can check out the boxes in peace I want to heal you with WWL so you don't run noisily across the map and then get rid of it in your mask, so why does almost every Survivor run away headless?

Pig doesn't need a nerf, people need to learn to go play it. Whether as a killer or a survivor, I see a lot of people just going headless and not knowing how to face it.

  • Pig Main here:

Piggy has already been nerfed and is insanely rng dependent. If I'm unlucky, they all get rid of their trap at the first box and I won nothing.

Why shouldn't a survivor get damage if they are wearing a RBT? Survs are already so brazen that they run to a box in front of me and calmly want to take off their mask and then I'm not supposed to knock them out? If they're lucky, I'll let them lie, but at least one should hide or wait until I'm gone. After that I'm a tunneler, even though they run me into the knife?

I often feel reminded of the movie Tucker & Dale.

Yes and ? "People don't quite because something isn't balanced but because they don't LIKE something."

Yup they don't like it, so why force them to play something they don't like ? The game is here to be enjoyed by everyone most of the time. Half the killers are not enjoyable to play against. So they have to be reworked/remove, period.

If half the trials against them there is at least 1 suicide/DC there is a problem.

If the survivor community were as much active as killers are on this forum, and would state exactly the same thing that you then we would be here :

    • DS/DH would not need a change - who cares if you don't like it ? We won't change those perks because you don't like them right ?
    • Instant flashlight addon would still be around - who cares if you don't like it ? We won't change those perks because you don't like them right ?
    • Same for the insta gen addons

And well, Trapper is far from being the weakest and weak lol. Sure it relise on special addons, especially the one that injure when you disable a trap but if you know how to control the map you will get 3k most of the time.

At first I thought you were just upset that so many people DC when these killers are played. Now I have to assume that you are one of those people who leave when they don't like something or when they might be the first to go down.

You know in advance what killers you might run into, you know the game. If you don't like so many things, then play something else? Or look for people, play KYF and there you can freely determine against which killers you play. Or play murderer, then you have it absolutely in the hand and can then be happy about the crybabies who say goodbye because something doesn't suit them.

But stomping your foot like a little kid and saying, so what? But I don't like it, so that has to go, doesn't work.

Then Bubba wouldn't be in the game anymore, because that's my irrationally hated killer that I'd rather never play against, but he'll stay and I'll just have to make sure that I don't get into chases with him, because I can't do anything with him anymore.

But against one shot Huntress you should only have problems in the lower ranks, for example.

Well i am a new killer player, by looking on the amount of time of time i have spend playing.

Í previously just played sporadically but in the last weeks started to play way more, especially with a killer.

I reached rank 9 in the last weeks and i have to say that 20%-30% of my games have people:

    • Calling how ez it was
    • You only won because....
    • Insults
    • Teabaing in the game everytome the managed to do something, like hiting me with a pallet
    • Calling me a noob because i am a spirit player

First of i play spirit because i like her yes, but that is not the main reason. I am colorblind i dont see the scratchmarks and blood very well in all but indoor environments. Spirit is the only killer that allows me to grow because she can ignore that and let me progress with better sound recognition.

Yes i know that people cannot know that about me but the point still stand that people call you out for playing spirit than make an extra remark for you playing stridor and it especially hit me because i cannot play anything else efficiently.

That doesnt feel got. They doesnt encourage me to play the game.

Whenever i question people about that kind of behaviour they try to gloss over it. I allways ask them about realy sport games. Does the wining or losing teams tell the other team how stupid they are or how easy the game was? No. But its completly futile to talk to those people. They have literly no common sense whatsoever.

Currently i am thing abot of ever playing as a killer again. Every third game insult, belittling and what not....

I dont know that the designer of this game can do but it seems the game has so many, and i am sorry, #########, playing it that its quite annoying.

I played a lot of Spirit and experienced the most hate with her. Since I play mostly on PS 4, people would then add me as friends just so they could poop on my profile.

When I did Rift challenges for my wife on the PC that she didn't complete and took Spirit instead, you can imagine the aftergame chat that went on. Spirit in itself is very hated, because it leaves little counterplay for the survivors.

If you try other killers after the update, you may actually get some really cool chats.

Meanwhile, I'm a Pig main killer and also play a lot of Trapper, Clown, and GF. Somehow the Survivors are more relaxed about it.

I always say that I have two ears - it goes in one and out the other. Not only in conversations, but also on the internet. :p

Just play the way you like and enjoy the time in the fog.

  • Often not all are members of the supposedly toxic SWF team. Sometimes I play on PC and how often I read in endgame chat that we were a sucky SWF team, even though I'm almost exclusively soloing, is enormous just because we play matched.

So when a killer just bludgeons everyone because he thinks everyone is toxically harassing him, it just sucks.

I know the killer is not responsible for the survivors having fun. But as I always say the other way around, we are playing 4 vs 1 here - there is no AI in the game, most are playing DBD for fun. And if you want to play like a - special human - find an AI.

  • So Survivor I would say Jane. She is a really beautiful woman who does not serve the standard beauty ideal. Her new skin is awesome!

As a killer I would take the Trickster: Cool design and an androgynous look that I like.

The least attractive I actually find the Raisin, ehm Hag.

For the survivors, it's Quentin and Nea, unfortunately, because the faces really don't look good. That's a shame, because I really like Nea's style.

  • Yes, please. Help me! It's so badly heavy on the console.

I just don’t like selfish people and I think that’s what it boils down to. I have had matches where I got every hook save and I mean every hook save and then the entire team leave me to die on my first hook as they’d rather open a gate and sit inside to teabag.

I can’t even tell you how many times I’m the only survivor to die but I’m at the top of the board for points lol.

Yes, I know that. I often feel like I'm the random one in a three-man SWF that is grateful for keeping the killer busy, hook saves and heals, but by the time the last gen is done, they're only focused on themselves.

In most cases I die on my first hook, that's just the price of the solo queue.

And no, these are not low ranks, but the red ones.

But I don't want to just complain, there are also great rounds where everything works and we all get out, but most run differently. >.<

  • I'm right there with you. It's so often that I pick people off the hook and heal them. I always have iron will with me and then get left hurt. And even with kindred, you get stuck on the hook and no one bothers to save you.

  • I know a lot of people say Bubba's not a problem, but when I'm in the hunt against him, I don't even know the simplest running routes anymore and I run like a chicken with its head cut off. 🤦

After that comes the Deathslinger: Somehow he triggers me hard and annoys me quite a bit.

  • This morning also such a round, against a doctor on Badham preschool.

Poor guy found me first and we played catch, he didn't hit once, fell for every mindgame and only let go of me after 3 gens. Then he had a Claudette down, unhooked, tunneled her out after that and she let herself die on the second hook. He went after a David, hurt him and ended up with me again, costing him the last two gens.

I saw on the final screen that he was rank 18! I slipped in there as rank 4, in an absolute rainbow lobby and the poor guy must have had a lousy round.

This result is absolutely frustrating for new killers and that's why it needs to be worked on, we need more new killers anyway to keep the queues for survivors consistently short.

  • I started with Dwight and will go down with him as well. I like his perks, his storyline and generally his big closet. <3

Then Jane came along and I was in shock infatuation. She is my main survivor after Dwight.

When I feel like variety I also play Ace and Meg and Feng. Those are the ones I have all the perks for.

As a killer I started with Trapper and still love him today. He's an original and I like his simple style.

However, then came Miss Amanda and she is the one I play with the most.I love the movies and I think she is my main killer, won't change until Pinhead ever makes it to DBD.

  • I luckily had a slugging Myers in the first attempt, who always ran past me as pink Bunny Feng and couldn't or wouldn't see me. So I was able to heroically pick people up about six times while he stayed permanently at level 3.

Heroic, boring game, but the task is done. 🤣
