I am assuming there was a tweet/announcement or something I missed? Someone got a link?
-
I voted yes, so people that want them can buy them, but honestly they are 100% useless.

I have faced the DS/unbreakable combo many times, never once has it cost me the match. It sounds to me like you're just a salty player.
I have never had my car stolen, therefore car theft is made up.

Decisive Strike can absolutely hurt you if you are not tunneling. The forums have been over this. Reddit has been over this. Youtube has been over this. Stop spreading this lie.

Yeah, there are conditions. Trust me, it works just fine. When I play Ghostface I get spotted CONSTANTLY.

Blight is probably the hottest. That serum raises his body temperature with all that exertion.

As survivor, tap the first gen I see, checking it for Ruin. If Ruin is on, find it, and cleanse it... top priority. If Ruin isn’t on... head toward center gen and start repairing.
What I do first as Killer depends on who I’m playing
This. I always want the pain in the ass generator out of the way first.

The change was made because killers complained about its unfairness for three years.
It's fair because you get your hook. Why I asking that people look at what it was is because that is an example of unfair. Without context you won't understand where I'm coming from.
You know why BT was unfair during release? For the same reason you think DS allows for a free save. Because it was a free save. BT used to give the unhooked and unhooker the BT effect.
Now BT is fair because the unhooker is punished for doing unsafe saves.
In both fair and unfair examples the hooked survivor gets away. Will you go as far to say BT is still unfair or will you accept that perks need to have a beneficial affect?
Are you trying to say Decisive Strike is fair because:
A.) My first hook worked
B.) Something something Borrowed Time
OR
C.) It used to be even worse
Because those are all atrociously bad arguments that do not change the fact it makes the user of Decisive Strike unhookable for a full minute, regardless of their activities. That is not fair, no matter what prior versions you try to compare it to.

Why must it be an anti tunnel perk to be fair?
Because that was the stated design of the perk by the devs.
Now YOU explain to me what makes it fair.

The way it is now is fair. Because a survivor can use a perk to their advantage doesn't make it abusive. It matters if the workings of the perk can be consider fair.
Explain to me how it is not unfair. Because it has been proven empirically it is NOT an anti-tunneling perk.

a lot of things need to be changed about it.
with the way people play it they may as well swap sprint burst in.
it shouldn't make you invincible if you're not moving or next to a wall.
It shouldn't give you a burst of speed if it makes you invincible. sprint burst already gives the speed.
I don't run dead hard often but there's a lot wrong with it and there's probably a lot that I'm missing and don't even know about. The devs even admitted it wasn't designed for dedicated servers and needs a rework.
Weird. Dead Hard to me always meant "Wait three seconds, THEN press M1"
-
What needs to be changed about Dead Hard?

Why are we holding up players with less than 1000 hrs?
Get some perspective on what DS was before you call this version unfair.
I don't need to know what it was before. It doesn't MATTER. The perk should be judged by what it does NOW, in actual and present gameplay.
The current Decisive Strike is horrifically bogus and abusive.

@Mr_K said:
It's been nerfed.
Proclaimed dead by the community (even though some reconized the potential)
and finally back in the lime light.
The moving of goal post with this perk is astounding. The perk is fair. That's all we wanted to begin with with the original nerf. It no longer denies a hook and no longer punishes a killer for downing a survivor. If you can't keep track of 60s, thats on you.
Hell, I've heard killer mains say it should be basekit. I'm not going that far but it just shows how much the perk has changed since release in 2016.
This perk is nowhere near fair, and even people with less than 1000 hours have mountains of testimony to that fact.
A perk designed to prevent tunneling that you can still use after the Killer bails on you to go hit and hook two other people and then come back to you and STILL get stabbed in the damn eye for 5 seconds is not even close to any semblance of fair.

Haven't seen the mori ritual for at least half a year. Do they still exist?
They don't call it "use a mori", they say "have a survivor die by your hand", which is basically a Mori unless you are Pyramidhead or running Devour Hope.
-
I agree completely.
Just make sure we get rid of those "kill by your hand" daily rituals...

You ignored the fact that I use Kindred and that I saw others running to the hook...
You are right, I DID.
YOU ignored the fact where I said I also run Kindred, and I also get unhooks regularly.
Kindred does not mean you are not responsible for unhooks. Everyone has pretty clearly answered your question by this point. The categories are very clear about how you score points. You can cite whataboutisms of VERY SPECIFIC examples if you want, but it doesn't change how Emblems are calculated. You know what you need to do. Either do it, and pip up, or treat this game like some sort of Metal Gear Solid game where you avoid as much contact as possible and lose points. It's up to you.
-
Well, depends on how we are looking at tunneling.
If you mean tunnel someone off the hook cause you unhooked in front of me, that is a tactically smart play.
If you mean ignoring the dude on the generator at 80% because I see someone I've already hooked in the distance, then that is not a tactically smart play.

My question now. Why should I have done?
- Be chased? He was already chasing others. Running towards him and saying "chase me" via teabagging or other means would be rude and inefficient bcs I deny the Survivors being chased efforts. They get chased so others do gens.
- Do totems? Why I should spend plenty of time to prevent a perk from appearing that the Killer might not even have?
- Save from hooks? I am not meta Survivor, I don't run Dead Hard, DS, Unbreakable, I can't afford myself risky saves when others can do it, and they already do it. I see them with Kindred.
My standard perk load-out right now is Botany Knowledge, Kindred, Spine Chill, and We're Gonna Live Forever.
None of those aid in getting safe unhooks. I still get them constantly. "I can't afford myself risky saves when others can do it" is coward-speak, and it explains why your Altruism score is in the hole.
If you wanna gen-jockey, and EXCLUSIVELY gen-jockey, that is certainly your choice. But you can't then turn around and whine when the game noticed you don't do anything to actually interact with the Killer, even when it comes to saving his victims on hook.

You blame me for gen rushing? But what should I have done? Do totems and prevent the perk from appearing that the Killer might not even have? Or make the Killer chase me when he chases others? What a biased statement.
Actually, yes.
You get pips and points for playing in FOUR CATEGORIES.
By your own admission, you only cared about one of them. It is therefore not surprising you de-pipped.

So, today I had time for 3 games. I wanted to make the best of it, since there is Bloodrush and I need BPs.. I figured I would make at least 1 challenge. Currently rank 3 on PC.
Challenge: Get a great result on 10 skill checks. Easy, or so I believed.
Game 1 - Trapper. Made 2 great, then tunneled to death through 3 hooks. The team made it out and noone else got hooked cause I held the killer the whole game.
Game 2 - Doctor. Made another 2 great, then tunneled. Dead on my 2nd hook because of my teammates stood in the corner and self caring and healing each other. Also risky save with no BT.
Game 3 - Huntress. Made the rest of my great skill checks (thank god). Yet, tunneled of the hook and dead on 2nd hook again.
I hate toxicness, I never spam the flashlight or teabag or anything.
Killers, why??
I read so much about toxic survivors being a problem, but I really dont feel sorry when Im being threated this way. I see toxic killers more often than toxic survivors. Is it just me?
Thanks for a good evening fellow gamers, not.
You are blaming the killer when you literally just gave examples of terrible play by your team.
This is a classic example of Survivors literally blaming the Killer for everything.

I don't think that's a good thing from business point of view, they would lose A LOT money they could earn if they made those chapters.
I guess that depends on cost. I don't know what these values are personally. It probably comes down to what is more cost effective, creating and selling the cosmetic versus the licensing fees... or making the whole new Killer and making it a DLC pack.
-
I think a lot of licensed killers could just be Legendary Outfits for other Killers we already have.
Chucky and Tiffany could be a Twins skin.
Jason could be a Trapper skin.
Jack The Ripper could be a Ghostface skin.
The Xenomorph could be a Demogorgon skin.
I am sure there are loads more.
-
Plaid Flannel should just be part of the Nurse's base kit and not an add-on.

I would 100% agree with this if the DC penalty discriminated between crashes and ragequits.
It doesn't matter. Crashes are on your end if this keeps happening. One crash is not gonna hurt you with the DC penalty. It is a 5 minute timer. If it is hitting you so bad you are getting an hour or more, you need to take a serious look at your hardware, your installation of the game, or your internet connection.

So for how many survivors out there do you think this tip does apply? Then you can guess why brown/yellow addons are a problem. Having one addon cancel 3-4 perks is a bit unbalanced and as said already, most exhaustion addons were created when exhaustion ticked down while running.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1883270#Comment_1883270
How can you use dead hard early against a huntress while not injured yet? Or any exhaustion addon against clown, how normally starts the chase with a bottle or can throw them at your window/hill to avoid triggering the perk.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1883431#Comment_1883431
it is "addon cancel perks" vs "perks cancel perks". or which survivor item can cancel killer perks? and the "perk cancel killer power" discussion normally leads to "I don't wanna run perks to counter 1 of 20 killers". So not sure if you skipped a lot of scenarios just to do a default salty comment
I am still not seeing the problem.
Don't run Exhaustion Perks, Exhaustion does nothing, Killer has wasted an add-on slot.
-
You are responsible for your internet connection.
What is unfair is you costing three other people a full team cause you can't get your signal together.
-

You don't understand the game very well if you believe anything you just said.
I don't "believe" it, it's a mathematical FACT.
I can, and HAVE, done exactly as I described and still gotten Decisive Strike'd. The perk has nothing to do with tunneling. Tunneling is focusing on a single survivor to get them out of the game. If you are attacking other Survivors and hitting and hooking between those two downs, you are NOT tunneling. The perk just has an asininely long grace period.

The length is fine. During the past days my game actually crashed (which is a rare occasion) and yesterday the game of my friend crashed. This does not happen often, but if this would result in a bigger penalty, it would be really annoying.
That is ONE accident. The people quitting matches four times and only getting a 30 minute is not enough.
5 minutes for ONE disconnect is reasonable.
-
The only thing wrong with the DC penalty is that it is not long enough.
-
Because people will leave matches, that's why.
You DC'd FOUR TIMES and it is only half an hour? It should be worse than that, in my opinion.
Go have lunch, then come back and play.
-
"I've noticed tons of Killers will get their ass handed to them and resort to making the match miserable for the survivors by holding a 3-gen setup."
People really will blame Killers for anything.
Killers didn't clear the other 4 gens, brah. Survivors did. That was your team's own dumb fault.

I wouldn't expect much unless you have video proof.

Hatchets go over pallets. ;)

Why the hell do Survivors say that EVERY Killer perk is "a perk that rewards a Killer for playing badly"?
Seriously, I hear this stupid claim with Ruin, with NOED, with BBQ, with anything Survivors don't like.
Enough already. This phrase is THAT close to going on a Jerkward Survivor Bingo Card.
-
Yes and no.
I WILL tunnel you off the hook if your ally is stupid enough to unhook you ten feet from me.
I WILL NOT tunnel you to attack you at the exclusion of a more available target.

That is a lazier decision than the mori nerf.
You say that like it is a bad thing.
GET. RID. OF. KEYS.
Finish the match the way you are supposed to, instead of hiding with your BFF and waiting for your two teammates to die so you can cop out early.
-
@Yords said:
Think about it, how would you balance keys yourself in a way that is strong, but not too strong? I would be willing to bet that the idea you think of is not great.
A popular idea that I hear quite a bit is that we should allow it to only let one person escape per key and have a 3-second animation of opening the hatch. The problem with this idea is that it would still be incredibly powerful as all survivors would just run a key knowing they could easily escape.
I myself don't know any other rework ideas for the keys, but you get the point. The keys are very complex when you stop and think about it. Moris on the other hand were much more unbalanced and much stronger. Keys at least require the survivors to do generators.
The mori change was good for the game itself. Most killers who ran it only used it against survivors holding a key which created very unfun and unhealthy gameplay. Being tunneled off of the first hook only to be moried is worse because it can happen so much faster.
Was it the best change? Probably not. But it is a good change. If you are complaining about the change, you are probably a killer who relied on moris to kill survivor teams using keys.
The best change would be to remove them from the game entirely.
Yes, I said it.
REMOVE. KEYS.

There is no such thing as "Pay to Win" in Dead by Daylight, and using that phrase just outs you for how really bad you are.
-
15 second rule.
I only chase longer than 15 seconds if I know I have enough pressure that it doesn't matter. For example, one DC, one on hook, and the other healing in the corner.

I more want to know I see Killers flip bloodpoint increasing items, see that Survivors flip bloodpoint increasing items, and still end the game as fast as possible.

are you guys fr i dont want to know what this does i want to know what purpose it has because it makes no sense hooks respawn after 30secs so the only way you can actually sabotage the killer is : sabotage the hook right before him, and then he sees you anyways so this addon doesnt make sense
Are you asking why you would ever sabotage a hook?
Because it works. Have you never been in a match where the Killer heads towards a hook, some Jake slides in and sabotages it, and now the Killer has used 7 of his 10 allowed Survivor grunts to reach the hook and realizes he is screwed and the Survivor escapes?
-
I don't see how Exhaustion is a game-breaking mechanic. It literally does nothing at all, NOTHING AT ALL, if the Survivor is not running an Exhaustion perk and Adrenaline doesn't even count.
If anyone thinks it is game-breaking, maybe people have become too reliant on Exhaustion perks.
But no no, you go ahead. Tell me more about the crutch perk issues with NOED and Undying.
