  • I thought when I was using Insidious that I was actually invisible. In my defense, that seemed the only plausible explanation for the way survivors behaved when I used it.

  • If they were smart, they would ignore it. It's just baseless whining.

  • 6/12/18

Decreased the Wraith flashlight uncloak stun time from 4 seconds to 3 seconds

Removed the ability to drop a pallet and rapidly cross the zone, what is often referred to as the pallet vacuum. With this change, a survivor will always stay on the same side of the pallet when triggering the interaction.

    7/24/18

Adjusted the Killer pick up (Pick up Survivor from ground) time to 3 seconds, down from 4.3 seconds

Exhaustion no longer recovers while running.

Wraith uncloaking: Adjusted the timing of the smoke effect (and its audio) for the Wraith's uncloaking to avoid giving away his position earlier than intended

Sloppy Butcher: Added the Mangled Status Effect. 25% increased healing time after being hit in addition to the bleed. Mangled status effects do not stack.

Bitter Murmur: When a generator is completed, survivors within 16m of that generator will have their aura shown for 5 seconds, when the last generator is powered all survivor auras are shown for 5/7/10 seconds.

Trapper: Changed trap setting time to have a 0.5 open phase, and 0.5 exit phase, previously it had been 1 second each. These times cannot be modified with add-ons. The mid phase animation has been reduced to 1.5 seconds, this can be modified using add-ons.Disarm time is set to 2.5 seconds instead of 1.5 seconds. Increased loud noise indicator range for trap disarm from 48m to 10000000m. Sabotaged bear traps will respawn after 180 seconds, similar to the hook regeneration. The regeneration time can be modified with the Oily Coil add-on and with the perk Hangman's Trick. Bloody Coil: Complete rework: When a Survivor disarms or sabotages a bear trap the Survivor is injured. Survivors are not put into the dying state when sabotaging or disarming a Bloody Coil, they can only be injured from healthy. Trapper Bag: Allows the transportation of 2 extra bear traps (up from 1).

Hag: Changed trap setting time to have a 0.5 open phase, and 0.7 exit phase, previously it had been 1 second each. These times cannot be modified with add-ons. Increased the trap teleport range to 40 meters from 32 meters The mid phase animation has been reduced to 1 second, this can be modified using add-ons. Revisited all of the Hag's add-ons. We removed all the negative effects on the add-ons, giving the Hag the bit of a buff that she needs.

The Shape: Changed Myers carry speed in Tier I. Now he will carry Survivors at the same speed as Tier II and III (3.68 m/s) Myers tier 1 speed buff from 90% (of 4.6 m/s) which means he currently moves at 4.14 m/s to 91.4% for 4.2 m/s

    9/18/18

Killers with a 4.4 m/s move speed (The Hag, The Huntress and The Spirit) now lunge at the same speed as other killers.

Fractured Cowshed: Removed the possibility of the long-chase window to spawn. Improved the safety of the short window close to the basement. Modified the outside debris near the basement to remove a dead-end. Adjusted totem placement.

The Wraith: After successfully uncloaking, the wraith gains a burst of speed for 1 second, similar to the effect from the Windstorm add-ons. These add-ons have been redesigned. Movement speed while uncloaking has been adjusted. The uncloak exit animation, which lasts 0.3 seconds after finishing uncloaking, can now be cancelled by attacking or interacting with objects. Time required to burn the Wraith out of cloak with a flashlight increased from 1.5 to 2 seconds. The Blind Warrior add-ons, which previously granted further light burn protection, have been redesigned. +lots of add on changes

    10/16/18

Time to hook a survivor reduced from 2 seconds to 1.5 seconds. The hooking animation has been updated.

The Spirit's phasing audio has been adjusted: Survivors within the Spirit Husk's terror radius will not hear the phasing sound. Survivors outside the Spirit Husk's terror radius can hear the Spirit's phasing sound, but will not be able to determine its direction. Survivors will no longer be able to hear the Spirit's breathing while she is phasing.

Adjusted the footstep audio for the stealthier and smaller Killers (The Hag, The Nightmare, The Pig, The Shape, The Spirit and The Wraith)

Reworked the flashlight blind effect that the Killer experiences in first person view (no longer a blindingly pure white-screen effect). New VFX are also applicable for Survivors being blinded with a firecracker item.

To give killers the ability to extend the game length through regular gameplay and without increasing generator times, the base time to heal is being increased. Increased the base heal time from 12 seconds to 16 seconds

Hex: No One Escapes Death: Survivors now suffer from the Exposed Status Effect at all levels. Movement increase bonus changed from +3%/4%/4% to +2%/3%/4%.

Make Your Choice: Changed the unhook range to 32 meters at all levels. The exposed effect now lasts for 40/50/60 seconds. Perk will stay dimmed in the HUD until at least 32 meters away from the hooked player.

    1/8/19

Surveillance: Increased audible repair sounds by a distance by 8 meters. Any regressing generators will be highlighted by a white aura. If regression on a generator is interrupted, it will be highlighted by a yellow aura for 8/12/16 seconds.

Legion: Manually ending Frenzy no longer depletes the remainder of your Power gauge. Reduced the intensity of the blurred VFX during Frenzy.

Pig: Adjusted the Combat Straps add-on in accordance to the crouch duration change, decreased value from 1 second to 0.3 seconds. Changed the Terror Radius fade time for when crouching / uncrouching to fade out/in ~4 seconds, down from 6.6 seconds. Decreased the base crouch and uncrouch duration from 2 seconds to 1.3 seconds.

Added extra hooks spawning spots around certain buildings to improve hook distribution.

Totem placement improvements: Recent upgrades to the totem interaction method allows the level design team to place the totems closer to other objects and as such, totem placement and hiding spots will be continuously improved starting with this update.

    3/6/19

Barbecue and Chilli: Auras are revealed from 40 metres for all tiers of the perk instead of 52/46/40 metres.

Distressing: All tiers award 100% bonus Bloodpoints.

Hex: Devour Hope: The perk grants 3/4/5% speed boost with 2 tokens, Exposed status applied at 3 tokens, and Kills are available at 5 tokens.

Hex: Ruin: All tiers affect all Survivors and apply a penalty of 3/4/5% regression on a good skill checks.

Fire Up had it's values increased after testing in the PTB. Value increased up from 2/2.5/3% up to 3/3.5/4% for a new maximum of 15/17.5/20%.

This is not everything by a large measure either. That is just skimming through patch notes from the last year. By any objective measure, killers have been getting buffs regularly. Life has continually been getting better for killers overall and their wants and needs aren't being ignored.

  • Nothing is wrong with it honestly. Just a bunch of crybabies on the forums. The perk has some serious weaknesses and drawbacks that people around here just like to conveniently overlook.

-Any killer able to damage survivors without using the basic attack or can one shot survivors can completely bypass MoM. (Trapper, Hillbilly, Myers, Leatherface, Plague, Legion etc)

-All perks that make survivors exposed can bypass MoM. (NOED, MYC, DH, etc)

    -Mori's after first hook.

Those are some substantial weaknesses and counters available to killers. And worst case scenario, the survivor gets ONE free hit. And that free hit comes with the serious drawback of making it so the killer can see your aura once you get healed to full. I've played quite a few games since MoM has been out and can honestly say that not one survivor running MoM has had a substantial impact on my games. I've run it a couple times as a survivor and it had 0 impact on the game too. Typically, I'd have it ready to proc, but would escape w/o even using it. All the hyperbole is ridiculous on these forums. You really would think the sky was falling just from reading the forums. It's not.

  • Bad idea. Really bad idea. Perk would be utterly useless. Honestly, it's just fine the way it is. All this whining about a perfectly balanced perk is giving me a headache.

  • Wait, when did they ever say they were going to do anything to Legion?

  • @gantes said:

Dead Hard with more requirements if you're against a M1 killer, otherwise you might not even get to use it.

Killer mains have a lot to rightly complain about, but this is new toy syndrome imo.

New toy syndrome. I like it. Describes the situation perfectly. Anyone able to properly analyze perks should realize that this perk is okay. Just okay. It is not now, nor will it ever be this overpowered beast of a perk that entirely too many killers have made it out to be. This perk has serious weaknesses, downsides, and many killers just outright counter. If you are a survivor that seems to think this perk is a free escape every game then you will be sorely disappointed.

  • @Orion said:

Depends on how stupidly the survivors are playing. If they're playing very stupidly and unhook in my face, I get punished for playing efficiently by getting hit with DS. I don't keep track of the number, though.

That is pretty much why this perk exists in it's current form. It's like buying insurance against dumb team members.

  • Yeah, my only complaint is that he doesn't speak loud enough.

  • I'm not a fan of obsession perks in general. Sometimes you run into the obsession in the first 10 seconds, sometimes you don't find the obsession for 10 minutes. It is just too random. I wish obsession perks had a bonus effect where if you were more than 60 meters from the obsession, you would get a vague directional indicator. Hell, even if the perk icon just had a different border when you were more than 60 meters from the obsession would be nice.

  • Windows on maps periodically block both killer and survivor. Sometimes it would result in survivor deaths and sometimes it would result in survivor escapes, but in the end it should balance out.

  • @Delfador said:

Bruce cares so much about Ash, he would never do something like that. If it is a joke, then I would be more disappointed in Bruce than anything.

Also we have a character model, perks and everything anyway, not releasing it and making it a joke would be one of the worst business decisions I have ever seen.

I agree with everything you say. I don't think it is very likely that this is a prank. But any information from anywhere that is released on April fool's day is suspect. It would be nice to have confirmation from BVHR that this is NOT an April fool's day joke.

  • @Orion said:

They got Bruce Campbell to shoot a promo video. If it's a joke, it's a pretty expensive one.

It wouldn't be the first time someone has done an expensive an elaborate April fools joke though.

  • Isn't that the old version of Predator?

Same as the usual tier list. Nurse is still the strongest, despite what people say, she's just harder to use at her maximum potential than on PC. Same with Huntress. There is a dude I played a few times that plays both of these killers and is CRAZY good with them. Like sniping from across the map and over short walls with Huntress to perfect blinks with Nurse. I told him to get on the forums and show people his clips and make it clear that these killers are not trash on console like people believe, so far he hasn't taken up the offer.

So because they are harder you see way fewer top quality Nurse/Huntress players. But they do exist, this guy was just one from recent memory. Most suck though because the killers are so hard to play.

I'm sorry, I just have to LOL at this. I've seen decent huntresses so I won't comment on them, but the mythical god tier nurse just doesn't exist on console. I play killer about 10 times as much as I play survivor, but I've got a couple hundred survivor games in and I just have never seen it. Even coming across a nurse is an ultra rare event.

If less than 1% of red rank games are with nurse killers and less than 1% of those god tier players then the sample size is too small to be significant. I'm sorry, but to even suggest that nurse is top tier on console is comical at best. You can't just say "trust me bros, I know no one has ever seen it, but nurse is the best". There needs to be actual evidence.

I would personally love to see the actual stats on rank 1 nurse play on consoles, not just anecdotal evidence. Percentage of games played with nurse as killer in the last 30 to 60 days, average kill percentage of those games, average kill percentage across all killers, average kill percentage of the top performing killer (assuming this isn't nurse lol), etc.

If he's mad at the pool then it sounds completely reasonable to me.

Does it really? Does trying to ruin the pool for everyone else who still enjoys swimming seem reasonable?

  • I'll never understand the motivation behind these types of posts. It's like some dude who went to a swimming pool for 2 years. Enjoyed the pool, but for whatever reason doesn't like swimming any more. Instead of just going on with his life he has to go back to the pool to take a dump in it before he leaves.

    - last survivor gets hooked

    - uses deliverance

    - can't get hooked again for 60 seconds because of decisive strike

    - survivor runs to hatch

    = free escape.

Okay, I don't agree with the OP, but this is a poor argument. If the survivor is running both Deliverance and Decisive strike, manages to unhook someone, is the last survivor alive without being hooked and manages to pull this off it isn't a "free escape".

  • Sorry man. I just have to disagree. It's a waste of everyone's time. Maybe, just maybe, the survivor might have a perk set up like you, but the majority of the time survivors don't. Meaning more often then not there would be no hope of survival. Truth is that even with that set up your chances are slim to none anyway. It just isn't worth it.

  • Why is this even a thread? They have specifically said they have no intention of nerfing NOED. Also in the news today, apples are not oranges.

  • 1 million BP gets you to approximately 36-39. Just depending on how your bloodwebs turn out and if you prioritize perks / addons over levels. I average around 37 after saving up a million BP before prestiging.

  • If it wasn't a hex perk, it would be overpowered. But as a hex perk, it is up against some tough competition. NOED, Devour Hope, and Ruin are all more competitive imho. You can only realistically run so many hex perks in a build. But yes, it can absolutely be brutal. The best part of it, is that it hides the auras of hooked survivors. You don't realize how hard it is to find and save a hooked survivor until you are blinded. I hope some day that they make a perk that killers can use to blind survivors w/o being a hex. Something like:

Blinding Strike: Whenever you hit a survivor with a basic attack, they are blinded for 60/90/120 seconds.

    I'd run that.

  • It's fine. Move along. Nothing to see here.

  • I would rather have a game start within 3 minutes even with a less than ideal match then wait 15 minutes for the perfect match. No one likes the games with 3 survivors. I don't think that has anything to do with the match making though. If some one lags or drops out during the loading screen that happens. I'm not sure there is a good solution to that. It would be nice at the very least if the players in such a match didn't lose their items/add ons/offerings though.

Uh, chief, a nerf is a nerf. Whether it's live or not. Also everyone played her by holding her puke. That was kinda the point, and made the multiple slows she gets from simply using her power not as bad. Now, you have to slow to rev, slow if you hold it, and slowed after. She's not a very good killer. You can completely cuck her by simply going to far out fountains, or just not healing. Broken isn't scary at all. If no one heals until end-game, you're losing out on half your power.

Also, she's so easily looped, as is her puke. Anything remotely tall will block the puke, and completely ruin her looping cuz you constantly slow down. Yea, you can puke over mid/low walls, but you can arguably knock them down faster by just M1ing them. Then puke, hook, and let it spread that way. No mistake about it, she got nerfed, and the fact a pallet stun removes her power is laughable.

No. It's not. Let's put it this way. You have absolutely no idea what they did to The Plague prior to the public test. They could have nerfed and/or buffed her a 100 times in a 100 different ways. But you don't know and likely never will know what was tested. It's like the old saying goes "if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

If you never played the Plague on the PTB, was she ever nerfed? That is the point I'm making here. Pretend that you didn't play her on the test server and judge her purely from the state she is in currently. What would you think of her? I think she's great just the way she is. I also didn't play on the test server so I don't have a tainted view either.

  • Plague is fine. She feels very balanced to me which is surprising when I first saw the reveal on her. I was expecting her to be over or under powered. I'm pleasantly surprised. Play her for what she is. Sometimes I think the PTB is a huge mistake. Players get weird ideas into their heads. Ideas like she was nerfed. It is impossible for her to be nerfed before she goes live. Anything prior to her going live is test.

  • Another sky is falling thread. Have you ever thought that maybe the reason you don't want to log in lately is because you've "been playing this game almost non-stop for 2.5 years"? If you play any game for that long, eventually you'll get bored of it. Most of the things you are complaining about aren't new things.

From my perspective, the most recent update was the best one they've done in a long time. I love the new killer and map. I love the DS change. I love the new match making system. I love the optimization changes. I love the tweaks made to the various perks. I think they are going in the right direction.

Is everything the way that I personally want it to be? No. I think there are lots of areas that can be improved. But they are still moving the needle in the right direction at least.

  • I play on PS4. There is no end lobby chat room. So if I'm going to go out of my way to send a player a message for GG then they had to have played a really good game. Which does happen on occasion. I personally like it when the survivors are all trying to initiate chases or attempting to rescue each other and stuff. If they manage to pull off good combos with their items and perks then I'll be the first to say "well played". That is pretty rare though.

  • Rage much? There is already a policy in place to punish DC. And honestly, if a player wants to effectively donate all the bloodpoints they would have earned in a match so another player can get the 7k bloodpoints for the hatch escape then I don't see it as all that big of a deal.

  • Strategically speaking, it is wiser to pick a character that is smaller and darker so as to be harder to see *cough*Claudette*cough*. But lots of survivors give exactly 2 craps about being hard to see. Just look at all the colorful cosmetics and how often they are used as proof. With all that said, I like the fact that she is overweight more from the perspective that overweight people are largely under represented in video games.

  • @The_Crusader said:

@Dreamnomad Talk about reaching. Gen pulls are few and far between with Nurse and Spirit (without prayer beads).

Oh but wait the possibility is there so I guess ir counts!! Just gotta gen grab them twice in a row. Easily done.

Couple of things. First of all, you take one point out of my entire post and ignore everything else. Second of all, you discount the validity of that argument. You don't need to grab someone off a gen twice to negate the perk. You only need to grab them off the gen once. Next you down them while injured after being rescued. Final hook, doesn't matter if they are full health and need hit twice. There is a big difference between grabbing someone off a gen once or twice.

But let's just forget the gen grabbing thing altogether. You simply can not argue with the fact that 6 out of the current 15 killers can completely negate the perk with their base kit. That is not a small percentage. Assuming all killers are played equally (we both know this isn't true, but for the sake of simple math it won't be too far off) that is a 40% chance that a survivor going into a game with this perk will have no benefit. That isn't factoring in numerous other things such as mori's or perks with exposed effects such as NOED. So roughly half the games a survivor runs this perk it won't go off if they die.

That also doesn't account for the times the survivor runs this perk and would survive without the perk. In which case it did nothing for them anyway. Any perk that gives no benefit in more than half the games it is used in is already not overpowered. All of this doesn't even account for the huge built in handicap with the perk. Having the killer be able to see your aura until they down you is a big deal. If there are two survivors left and one of them can always be seen by the killer then how hard is it to get 4 kills? You can forget the hatch that game.

  • Are people still losing their minds over this thing? Let's put things in perspective a bit.

Killers that have a high probability of completely negating Mettle of Man:

    Plague

    Hillbilly

    Trapper

    Huntress

    Shape

    Legion

Killers that have a some probability of completely negating Mettle of Man:

Spirit (grabs off generators, exit gates, etc)

Nurse (grabs off generators, exit gates, etc)

Pig (dash attack or possible RBT death)

So of the 15 killers there are 6 that can completely negate this perk with their base kit. No perks, add ons or offerings required. Another 3 have some possibility to negate the perk with their base kit. Every killer has access to multiple perks that allow one shot attacks. NOED, MYC, DH, and Rancor for example. Every killer has access to mori's. Any perk that is weak to that many things is not going to upset the balance of the game. And even if the player gets the free hit, that is hardly game over for the killer. Relax, the sky isn't falling. Honestly.

  • They've been buffing killers steadily over the last year. You already got any compensation owed and then some.

  • @Blueberry said:

Perk looks more broken than old DS

That's because you don't know how to evaluate perks. Like at all.

Mettle of Man- After getting hit 3 times by a killers basic attack this perk activates. Once activated, the next occasion that would put you in the dying state from the injured state is ignored. The next time you heal back to full health, your aura will be revealed to the killer when you are more than 16 meters from the killer. The perk will deactivate the next time you are put into the dying state. Higher chance of being obsession.

Like I said, you all suck at evaluating perks. You can combine this perk with whatever you want. It still isn't good. There are a lot of killers that this ability completely blanks on. Plague for instance. She pukes on you until you are broken. No basic attack at that point. Then basic attack to finish you off. If she isn't doing that, then she is using corrupt puke to injure you. Also not a basic attack. Do the math. You are dead before she basic attacks you 4 times.

She's not the only killer like that either. Any killer that can hurt you with their ability throws off the math. Any of the chainsaw killers that can one shot you, completely borks the perk. This perk only activates when you are already in the injured state. If you get hit with one shot ability then you skip that and go down. Hello NOED. Hello MYC. Hello Devour Hope.

And if, just if, you manage to avoid all of those things and get lucky and actually get one activation out of the perk. From what I read, it literally can only activate at most once then it deactivates. Then what? You avoid ONE HIT! That's it. One lousy hit. As I said before, it doesn't teleport you away from the killer. The killer is still right behind you. Even if you get the speed boost and the killer swipes their weapon like a normal hit, that is hardly a get out of jail free card.

The killer is still behind you. The killer still knows where you are. You are still injured. Most of the time the killer will still catch you. And guess what, let's say you either pull off a miracle and escape or the killer just abandons the chase. You are still screwed! The next time you are healed to full the killer can see your aura when outside 16 meter range. Good luck getting that hatch now =p So I say again, this is NOT the second coming of decisive strike. It's frankly not even that good of a perk. The majority of the time, you would be better off running Dead Hard. Sure, you can run both. Big deal. As far as exhaustion perks go, dead hard is one of the weaker ones imho.

  • Okay, how god damn hard is it for you people to put a reference link when you want to talk about something new? Don't just assume that every person knows what you are talking about. Here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fK3IpCkNntw

It wasn't all that hard. You people are losing your mind over something that isn't even a thing yet. They are decent perks, but none of them are overpowered. This isn't the second coming of decisive strike. I swear, most people on these forums have no idea how to evaluate perks.

Mettle of Men is basically a mediocre dead hard. You have to get hit 3 times in order to avoid one hit. And that doesn't somehow magically teleport you to a random point on the map. The killer is still right on your butt ready to hit you again. 9 times out of 10 you'll still go down within the next 10 seconds that this triggers. Big deal.

Flip Flop is just a silly perk to be used when trying a hook breaking strategy. Hook breaking is already a terrible strategy. This isn't the missing piece of a master strategy. This is honestly just a bad version of unbreakable. The sky is not falling! These perks will have minimal impact on the game.

  • I never played her in PTB so I guess I don't know what I missed out on. All I know is that I've been having a blast with her. She feels really well balanced to me.

  • I think they have issue with server stability right after a new killer is released. The sudden surge of players is too much. It'll settle down in a few days. Try playing during non-peak hours and see if that helps.

  • Can someone please interpret the OP for me? I honestly don't know what he/she is talking about. How did survivors get more second chances again?

  • I agree. It was a good change. Glad we're on the same page.

  • I actually like DS now. It feels fair on both sides. Good change.

  • I play on PS4 so I never got a chance to play her on PTB, but all I can say is that after playing her is that she is in a great spot. She is probably one of the more balanced characters in the game honestly. So if she was nerfed a little prior to going live then that was probably a good decision. Cause I love where she is at now.

  • It isn't OP. /thread

Most 110 m/s killers have something to help in the chase. What does Billy have? A chainsaw? Sure it can one shot but so can Michael. It can also break pallets quickly but that's only when the survivor drops them in a loop and most killers dont respect pallets. So you have to rev up the chainsaw and break probably making it take just as long as just breaking the pallet normally. I'd say first buff all the other mid- low tier killers and then nerf Billy (and Nurse but that's a different discussion)

I just have to say that this is a pretty funny response. What does Billy have to help in a chase? I mean, if you want to get technical and all, when he uses his ability he runs really fast and if his attack connects it's an insta down and his chainsaw can break pallets fast. But other than that, what does Billy have to help in a chase? NOTHING!

  • My least favorite to play as is the Nurse. My least favorite to go against is Wraith. There is nothing really wrong with Wraith. But from my experience, Wraiths are the most likely killer to hard camp. And that is never fun.

  • OP is being a bit overly dramatic, but I understand the sentiment.

  • There are a lot of reasons this should never happen.

1.) It doesn't fit in with the theme of the rest of the game.

2.) Alien can run up walls and ceilings. If this was allowed it would lead to endless glitches and imbalances. If it wasn't part of it's kit then it wouldn't really be alien.

3.) Alien can run like 35 miles per hour. If this was allowed it would lead to endless glitches and imbalances. If it wasn't part of it's kit then it wouldn't really be alien.

4.) When the survivors kill the alien, it's blood would melt the map.

The only thing that needs to moved to "unranked" is SWF.

    :P

And restricting add ons will hurt killer much much more than survivor.

There are tons of killer that really need their good add ons, while survivor don't even need items to begin with.

    They really don't.

Sorry, but I stopped reading right here "3.) Camping and tunneling are restricted. "

    Terrible idea.

You really should take the time to actually read what I've suggested. I absolutely kept killers perspective in mind. Even if you hate the idea then that is fine too. As I've said, this game mode wouldn't be for everyone.
