doesnt change the fact.....no matter what if a survivor uses it....its time to nerf it...from what i can gather the only way to truly make people happy is just to take perks completely away
Did you see me ask for a nerf? People are allowed to discuss things here, especially perks. That is what the forum is for.

It is only 6% while being looked directly at. So for the 7 seconds it takes the killer to close the distance to the generator, you would have gotten the generator done a whole 0.35 seconds faster.... whoopdy f-in do.
I did not say it is OP, which is why you won't see me asking for a nerf. But I myself have gotten gates opened simply having killer running towards me while I open a gate, similar to Wake Up. To act as if, the speed boosts are irrelevant shows you must not ran the perk yourself to understand how it can benefit you.
I never said the perk is too strong, I simply said the speed boosts are not irrelevant like people make them out to be.

prime example of killers complaining about EVERY perk a survivor has (example 10000000000)
The game is based around perks, it only makes sense that discussion forums discuss "perks."

Reading comprehension for the win. I said except in chase...
If the perk was gain 6% vault speed and nothing else, no one would ever take it. Resilience is 9% and VERY VERY few people take that, so spine chill has a niche which is use against stealth killers. clear?
yeah, the speed boosts are irrelevant, cept when "Repairing, Healing, Sabotaging, Unhooking, Vaulting, Cleansing, Opening, and Unlocking"
I don't care if its nerfed or not, but don't try to act like these boosts don't help speed up the game on your side. LOL
-
@dugman said:
Like other people said, the whole point of Spine Chill is it’s a tool to use against Undetectable killers. That’s not a bug, it’s a feature. Also, as a killer, I often can get ambushes on Spine Chill survivors simply by staring directly at generators they work on while I move toward them. In fact it feels like there are quite a few survivors who use that perk and watch that icon and it distracts them from just watching the surroundings so if a killer sidesteps towards them they don’t see it coming.
That said, I never really understood why it also gives survivors extra vault speed. It probably is a solid perk without the speed boost, but that’s just a guess. 🤷♂️
As you see above, people think the speed boost part of the perk, "largely irrelevant"
Yeah ok survivor mains, sure vault speed increase is irrelevant. Tell that to Clown or Bubba
-
I believe majority of survivors would prefer this game be PVE anyway. They want a Monstrum type bot killer who is dumb and easy to cheese.
You can see the survivor main juke videos, they can only cheese low skill kiillers.

Right, basement Bubba is obviously a thing but he can also do well just playing a proactive strategy of going out and downing and pressuring survivors directly. In particular he’s a pallet chewing machine, if he slugs in the early game and gets into chases constantly he very quickly builds up dead zones with no pallets and eventually wins by attrition and pressure.
I do that strat,.... I chew up the pallets in my 3gen area early, hook in the 3gen, defend the 3 gen, and by that time they have no pallets to protect them because they drop them all so early. You are 100%

To be fair he never said anything about camping. Personally I don’t facecamp when I play Bubba, it’s more fun to chase people and get downs with him. (He’s an excellent slugger too of course.)
I thought the same. Watch SethDBD, I go all out trying moonsaws, chopping around entire shack... etc too,... people think all Bubbas are basement Bubba with Insidious, must never play against good Bubbas.
-
Seeing more and more spine chill, had 3 in multiple matches last night.
These same survivors will tell you, "the chase is the main fun of the game"
yeah, cept you guys run across map before we even get there.
When I approach a gen I look to the 45 angle and not at gens directly sometimes I stare at a gen while I am not even going that way to make them get off gens
-
I run Balanced, never used DH much because I dont even wanna be injured ;)
Plenty of us have played perkless (both sides)
Perkless survivor is the difficult mode.
-
"Help, well all got died, we need a way to erase all that killers good plays so we can win"
-
I like playing Bubba because its basic chase based killer.
Blight, I enjoy too, but gotta pinball around like an idiot, slam slam slam, when it's sometimes easier to just mindgame and m1 them.
Nurse, I get dizzy not my way to play.
Mained Legion, but my games get more kills playing Bubba non camping style and just going all out with the moonsaws and mindgames.
Not everyone wants to or enjoys playing nurse, although I am p3ing my Blight.
Not playing Basement Bubba unless memeing, I run BBQ and sweat for it. Camping is boring.

All roads lead to Bubba

Right, that’s what I was saying, replacing all the graphics is probably most of the work in making a brand new map anyway.
my guess is they will release a similar style map or something, I am sure they couuld de-stranger things it,...laboratory type maps are fun.

I’m guessing that basically the work involved with that would be almost as much as making a brand new map from scratch since it would mean revamping almost all the art assets in it.
they should just change out graphics and re-use the map.

no, you;re just gonna experience 2500 hours of what you experienced in one game ;)
-
PLay 2500 hours of it then make another post like this telling us how you feel.
THAT is why killers are the way they are.
-
The whole Hawkins thing happened while I was on DBD break, but now I cherish my Demogorgon even more and am p3ing him now. <3
-
I watch streamers who play a killer very well and who are positive through their losses like Seth DBD, the guy is a beast with Leatherface
-
yes please, its like you gotta sit there looking left and right moving side to side to get the prompt.
also fix R key lag please, takes 42 seconds to drop a surv sometimes

@dugman said:
Yes, the devs have said the intended balance point is around 2 kills per game on average, presumably with the median results being in the 1-3 kill range. Basically they want most games when both sides play equally well to not be everyone lives or everyone dies, they want it in the middle somewhere.
And yes, that does imply the gates are supposed to be open at the end of most matches. Anybody who says the gens should only be done “half the time” or say a killer failed “when the gens are done” doesn’t understand that the game isn’t set up that way.
Irony is with the old emblem system 2 kills would net you a pip, now its pretty much -1 LOL
-
yes, the game is balanced to be a draw for killers.
The only way a killer can "win" or progress via pips is 3k or better, its basically all or nothing.... devs have stated officially that 2k is not a win its a draw and that's what the game is balanced for.
-
see you next killer release

NOED isnt a second chance perk. Its a gamechanger for doing abolutely nothing. The game is designed around survivor having second-chance perks. If people dont understand this after 5 years, its kinda embarassing for you guys.
If you can't play around noed in 6 years, after numerous nerfs of the perk,.... its kinda embarrassing for you guys

It's hilarious that people are still making up fake flaws for NoED.
Its hilarious how survivors can have second chance perks to escape, but oh no killer has a second chance, at the end of the match.
lolz, on the hook
-
Survivors: "Noed is bad because it rewards a player being bad"
Also Survivors: "But I run all kinds of second chance perks because I always get caught"
Summary: run whatever perks you want, just put them on the hook and no one cares what gamers say on forums
-
cap should be whatever it takes to go from lvl 1 to 50 on a survivor or killer.
-
have been playing for years.
turned off chat both sides long ago, I don't even drop a GG I just look at m,y score and pips and on to next match, not even sure how you encounter "toxicity" it's just a game and after the match I never even see the same names that I can remember anyway.
forums? yeah but all forums are full of trolls, gamer forums especially.

Bro just give it up hahahah. She's 200% correct.
There is nothing to be "right" about, nor was I even debating anything with them. I made a comment and for some reason, I am singled out as if I started this thread and complained. I did not make the thread I simply agreed in the thread that 99ing can be frustrating sometimes, as both a killer and survivor since I play both.
As I said, I am not the only one who thinks that nor did I make the thread.
-
The game already has two modes one for ranked play and KYF where you and your friends can have all the casual fun you can dream of.

I know, imagine if that E key would lag like R key does sometimes for killers....

And that's totally fair to me. That's why I don't complain about bleeding out. Can't help but try and crawl away, after all, I live by the Historical Dicuments creed. "Never give up, Never Surrender!"
I run adrenaline and crawl away myself. One of my favorite eescapes ever is when I am on ground slugged, and killer closes hatch. I am back on my feet holding that gate latch.... I crawl near a door and wait for it sometimes. I like escapes like that as survivor myself. Playing both sides, I have been bled out by slug nurses many times and know it sucks, therefore I don't do it to people either.
-
@AsherFrost said:

I think they're talking specifically about when the killer will slug survivor 3 to go find survivor 4 and try to deny the hatch. Honestly in those cases I start crawling away to try and find where I think the hatch will spawn myself.
IMO if you don't wanna bleed out, don't move.
if I down you (3rd surv) and I see the 4th I am going to go for them. Problem is survs think its good to crawl and hide in grass on other side of the map. I won't bleed you out, but I don't see why I shouldn't go for the 4th if I see them.
Don't want to bleed out, crawl into visible area, but in my experience survs do their best to hide to deny you the hook, then complain about slugging.
I would've picked you up 2 minutes ago if I could find you. Bleeding people out as griefing is not my thing, but if I see the 4th, I am going for it.
edit, added: If I don't see the 4th and I downed you, I dont slug, I hook you and use BBQ chili to find last one, sometimes I get them, sometimes they get hatch, I don't care at that point really.

I read this whole conversation, and I have some thoughts.
1. Why do you think slugging (which isn't against the rules and has no penalty) is comparable to disconnecting from the match (which is against the rules and does have a penalty)? I get that you don't like being slugged, but not liking something in the game doesn't make it comparable to something that is explicitly against the TOS of the game.
2. Why are you so certain people playing against you in a video game want to "ruin your day"? No matter what side I play, or even what game, I promise I don't think about anyone I played with 30 seconds after the match is over unless they are such toxic pieces of ######### that they stand out. I just don't think the level of Animus exists that you seem to believe does in this game. The person playing killer is out to get your character, not you as a person.
3. I replied to this post if yours specifically because it sounds like you didn't like how a discussion was going, so tried to talk ######### to someone in a private message only to find they disabled it. I'm hoping there's some other, less juvenile explanation, but I'm having serious difficulties thinking of one..
you pretty much summed it all up right there.
As a killer, I don't care or even consider who you are IRL, or to ruin your day. I am literally relaxing playing a video game.
The effort to smear killers as unhappy, friendless, miserable people who are hellbent on ruining your day, removes the humanity of the opponent and allows these outrageous projections onto other players.
Nah bro, justy sitting here at 4:20 playing some games, sorry you got downed, not trying to ruin your day kid.
-
Anyone else find the "I don't want to sit here for 2 minutes as a slug so I will dc then have to wait an additional 5 minutes" funny?
Way to go survivor, you really stuck it to the killer with that one.

Nope, nope offense.
I did it because a mod removed your post (as far as I am aware), and it would have been in poor taste (and possibly against the rules?) to reply to it. Plus, I did not want to stir drama with what the content of your post was.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2913470#Comment_2913470
The thing is; slugging is part of the game. The Killer has every right to go for a 4K, and Survivors don't get to decide 'This is an OK time to DC because I don't like this'.
If a person can't handle ALL ASPECTS of a game (slugging, loops, pallets, tunneling, camping) and use them as a BS excuse to DC; they should just not play until they mature.
I saw the post too, it is amazing what people admit to doing on the forum as if some way to get back at killers.
its hilarious tbh
-
Going for the 4k is not sweating in any way.
Maybe if you sweated more during the match you wouldn't be on the floor bleeding
-
I have and still do playn perkless games just to really push myself
If you haven't done perkless builds as surv or killer, I suggest you go for it.
Years ago thats how I weened myself of Whispers,.... started playing perkless to train tracking ability long ago, you'd be surprised how much it can help get your innate skills up so you don't rely on perks as much as killer.
-
Sorry guys, the game is designed so that a killer can only win if we 4k. 3k still won't get you the two pips. 2 pips is a real win as defined by the game.
2k is not a win, devs have stated its a draw, so don't be mad when people go for the 4k, its ok to play to win in a game.
Also the game is designed that if we kill the 3rd, the 4th can literally get out and escape for free, further pushing that win further from us,... sooooo,.... you get slugged. Don't crawl into the edge of map if you don't wanna bleed out, Stay where you were downed or go into visible area.
-
So basically, killer has to 4k or they can be considered a loss.
2k is not a win, its 50/50
But they will tell you, "you got2k you should be happy" and "you sweaty if you go for the 4k"
Umm, the game dictates that as a win, so why wouldn't we go for the 4k?
-

Well, I bet your teammates don’t enjoy that. You are actively throwing the game for them, unless you’re 100% sure they’re all safe and don’t need to do any Rift challenges, etc.
LOL I am not wasting my time so you can go hunt for totems or stun the killer a couple more times. Also not gonna sit in the gates while you teabag the killer, I leave and get into next match. Players like that are the very reason EndGameCollapse was added.
"Actively throwing the game?"
Umm, the match is over

I would like BHVR to imagine End Game Collapse being on the Killer's/Entity's side.
As a Killer, Survivors who 99% gates and open just as people come running is infuriating.
If the exit gates would regress just at a very slow rate, then 99% gating would require 1 active Survivor.
I would feel way better about it if I knew someone had been working hard to allow the exit to be this way.
As a player who enjoys both sides, if I open the gate I leave, I do not 99. And if I go up to a gate someone 99ed, I just open and leave.
-
I recently came back from a break and began recording every match, and wow, I have noticed some things.
instant, endless sabo being one. Had a Jane sabo a hook and within 10 seconds inst-sabo anotheer in front of me as I carried from one to the other.
Subtle cheating is probably more than the blatant ones.

No you're just making stuff up and playing the victim card. The killer is not the problem either. Just like the gates aren't.
Look all I did was make a drive by comment in a thread someone ELSE made about 99ing the doors, go troll them. I am free to comment without you attacking me for some drive by comment. 99ing the doors and hanging out in exit gates is one of the less fun things remaining in the games.
I made my comment but not gonna debate anyone about it, go troll someone else.

It does address that, though. What it doesn't address is the problem contained in the first part of your sentence. Which is not a game problem. It's a you problem.
right, its always the killer who is the problem. \\You are right, no one but me complains about 99ing the doors. Yep, its me.

If survivors have 99'd the doors and are hiding around the map - the killer can open the doors!
I dont open doors, this does not address 99ing doors or that they should have regression.
-
just something else survivors exploit.
end-game was supposed to stop the hanging out wasting time after match, but nope, just gonna 99 the doors and crouch all around map for 10 minutes
doors should regress
