Huh, that's really weird if that's the case. It's not in the Patch Notes or Dev Update or anything. They should bring that back if it was intentionally removed.

The notes didn't mention anything about all the add-on nerfs either. It's definitely an intentional change. It's probably because they think that because people will need to take tapes more often, it'd be too powerful if they got a stack each time.

That's an oversight that should be fixed, honestly. (At least I hope it's an oversight lol)

You immediately get 1 Stack when picking up a Tape.

You don't passively gain Condemnation anymore while holding a Tape but you do still gain +1 stack for retrieving the Tape in the first place.

No. On the PTB you no longer got a stack for taking a tape. And nothing in the DEV notes suggested they are changing this.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3491606#Comment_3491606

It's not just two stacks, there's a lot more potential than that.

It's the 1 stack you get from picking up the Tape, combined with the 2 stacks you get from hitting them. The Tape then gets destroyed, which means they have to get another one, which is another Stack and potentially two extra stacks if you hit them again. You can kind of snowball a Survivor's Condemned now, which is huge.

While they don't provide passive condemned anymore, getting caught with a Tape will end up being really dangerous, so I think people will want to get rid of them quickly.

You don't get stacks for picking up tapes.

  • This dev update is so disappointing. Yes, this might make her slightly stronger than she was on the PTB. But they still didn't address like 80% of the concerns people had. I was absolutely positive they would un-nerf Reiko's watch after seeing how many people were baffled by that decision, but nope, not addressed at all.

And I was sure they would see all the feedback about the changes to her demanifested chase ability. But, again, nothing.

They spent a whole week putting together this Dev update, and this is all they came back with?

    Sad for Sadako.

  • People really acting like it's BM to go for a 4k? Come on.

You get more points. You're more likely to pip if you are ranking up. And you don't owe the survivors an escape just like they don't owe you a kill.

  • I meant to post this in the PTB feedback. I reposted it there,, but can't figure out how to delete it here.

  • Except they also nerfed her stealth. Like the chase thing and pallet stun immunity is barely anything, and they nerfed Reiko's Watch, which was her best stealth add-on. This is so bad. She really has pretty much nothing with these changes.

  • They basically removed everything that made Sadako an active and fun killer, and have instead made her power entirely passive. They "buffed" her condemn ability, but are completely killer her map mobility and control. And even, with the "buff", survivors are going to have even easier counterplay since they can now deposit tapes in ANY tv and the TVs will be turned off for 90 seconds.

I'm not sure how losing chase/bloodlust while de-manifested. Maybe just neutral. And not taking pallet stuns while demanifested is basically pointless since now survivors know all they have to do is wait for her to manifest before throwing a pallet. Just like they do with wraith.

Overall, these changes just make her more boring and passive to play as. I've been maining Onryo for the past year, and am really worried that this will suck all the fun out of playing her if it goes live.

  • Like most maps, it's great for some killers and terrible for others. As an Onryo main, I quite enjoy it.

how do you keep track of what bp comes from where so you know how much you can still earn from trials?

Not sure I understand the question. But I've completed all the tomes, and just have a bunch of uncollected challenges. I plan on collecting all of them today, and I already added it all up and know it comes to about 10.5 million. I'll have to collect it 2 million at a time.

  • Got 2M BP plus 10.5M of tome BP saved up. And an extra 90k of rituals for good measure. I'm ready.

  • The singularity isn't any better at proximity camping than any other killer though. His ability does very little to help him camp. The only time he's going to be able to do anything is if the survivors just stand in front of a biopod after unhooking for like 15 seconds.

  • @AssortedSorting said:

The downside to that is the sparser the Pallets are the faster Dead-zones get created when pallets are broken, allowing for greater snowball potential if they get broken early.

Foliage and Stealth aspects might help in that regard though, and may usher in an environment where scratch mark/Grunts of pain suppression Perks/Items can shine better or be introduced.

The OP is complaining about it from a Killer perspective, saying that survivors dropping pallets is equivalent to Killers tunneling in how annoying it is for Killer's to face. They weren't arguing that it was wasteful.

Quite frankly, I think most people are too precious with pallets. Some won't drop a pallet even if it means that they will go down. A pallet is never worth as much as a hook state, and it's always better to extend the chase and buy your teammates more time on gens.

Some players do pre-drop too much, but a lot of the time, pre-dropping can be necessary, especially against certain killers who are able to counter pallets.

  • Not really. There is a built in slow-down to gloobing and teleporting to a recent unhook. Just don't hang around the hook once you get unhooked.

  • This is silly. Survivors are going to use the tools they are given. The real problem is that some maps have too many pallets that are too close to eachother. This isn't a survivor playstyle issue, it's a map generation issue.

  • Maybe wait until it starts and we actually know for sure how it will work?

No, it's because of how easily countered his kit is by the EMPs. Yes, that is the whole point of the EMPs but they are currently too good at countering his kit. It's a struggle to tag survivors or to teleprot to them due to how easily survivors can disable Biopods or cleanse the Slipstreams from them, turning Hux into a pure M1 Killer.

I've seen streamers who have been fairly effective at working around EMPs. It's just his playstyle is more complicated than it seems at first, and everyone is using the pods as remote monitoring devices, when they are much better in chase. Most people just haven't figured out the best way to play him yet, but from what I've seen he can be very good if you get down how to chase with him.

  • From what I've seen, he's a killer that can be very very good with practice. Everyone here seems mad they aren't getting 4ks with him in their first few games

  • When I do it, it's because I know I've overcommitted to the chase and have probably already lost the game. Usually it's a SWF and like 3 gens pop in the first minute of the chase, or something to that effect. And I kinda want to see how long the survivor can keep the chase up. Good practice too, if it's a good looper

  • This should be kill-switched until they fix it. I had three matches in a row where survivors burned Eyrie offerings to abuse this.

  • I think you've misunderstood. I literally don't change anything and the danger level changes. Like I go into the map, I prestige it. Do nothing else. And the danger level changes. That is a bug.

  • It's still down. How have they not addressed this yet? Or at least acknowledged it on Twitter?

  • I just tried to get on and they were down for me as well.

It happens on spirit when you start phasing and the surv uses their beams. The beam stays till the end.

    I don'

I don't think that's it. The beam that got stuck for me happened when they went for a save when I picked up.

  • Screenshot 2023-04-20 174929.png

Just happened to me again for the umpteenth time. These two died 19 times. And my prestige points are only at 20. I've had to reset this base so many times because it doesn't hit prestige and half the time it's because it isn't counting my kills for points.

  • My base just went from Dangerous to Brutal and the only thing I did was hit prestige. I didn't add anything or change anything. It just randomly increased the danger level after I prestiged.

I just don't understand. I've made brutal levels that have 4 times as many traps and enemies as this one. How can the margins for normal and dangerous bases be soooooo small. I have to think it's just bugged.

  • I had this issue. Try adjusting the resolution or the "scale" of your monitor in your display setting. For me the fix was that my monitor was set to 125% scale. When I reduced down to 100%, it stopped happening. I think what was happening was that the fullscreen was filling the monitor, but my mouse was still getting to that extra 25% and clicking outside of the game.

  • It still does not make sense for me to pay to activate my base if no one's going to play it and I'm going to have to just pay to re-activate it the next day. I think most people could care less about the passive genmat gain from an active base. Most of us just want to see people run our bases. It's a bad system, and so unsatisfying. At least make sure I get a few raiders before I have to reset the base if I'm not going to be able to prestige it. If no one plays the base, there's no way to prestige it. It literally has nothing to do with the quality or playability of the build.

This is just going to discourage people from activating their bases except for during times when they know traffic is going to be especially high. And even then, brutal bases seem to generally be ignored by raiders before becoming champion outposts at Prestige 5.

  • If you take away my STBFL, my Onryo will riot.

  • My go to is just: Lithe, Windows, Open Handed, and Bond. And I bring a medkit with 3 heals. I primarily play solo, and even with the HUD, this build just helps me know where to go and what to do. And it turns a bad looper like me into a mediocre looper.

However, if I want to just gen-rush hard (usually for a tome challenge), I bring Streetwise, Built to Last, Fast Track, and Inner Healing. Along with a commodious Toolbox with the wire spool and socket add-ons. Sometimes I'll throw on Prove instead of fast track or IH, but you pip less running prove, so I prefer to solo gens.

  • My first attempt at Adept Skull Merchant, half of my survivors just decided they wanted to meme and pretend to be mannequins on Shelter Woods. I felt kinda dirty using them to get a very easy adept. Though I did play around a little and pretend to hit the mannequins at least before killing them.

It seems like the answer to my question is no, they are not sticking to their statement. I believe the Maurice Skin will have been available for 4 weeks as of today, and there is still no shard price for it. This is disappointing.

So the Maurice skin is now avaiable for shards. It took slightly over 4 weeks, but fair enough . It does look as though they are following through with giving the skins a shard price about 4 weeks later.

  • @Mooks said:

The answer is yes, they have as of now.

with the exception of event limited Outfits that stayed longer than 4 weeks as they will be available for shards in their next period. But those haven’t been introduced when they made that statement of all original outfits becoming available for shards.

it’s not exactly 4 weeks, Vittorios release skins also needed 1-2 days more for it

I will hold out hope and keep checking for another week. I really want to be horse Dredge, but it feels like a waste to spend money on cosmetics when I have like 120k shards burning a hole in my... wallet? Shard sack? Where do you keep shards?

  • @martinj97 said:

BHVR are a fantastic company and they should monetize their assets the best way they see fit. Does your landlord take shards for rent? Does your grocery store take shards for Doritos? NO! It's about money: M O N E Y.

Weird company worship. But even so, BHVR specifically said that they would make these cosmetics available for shards within 4 weeks. It's not crazy to try to hold them to their word.

If that Lunar New Year outfit Feng got was anything to go by, then no, that went away before it was able to be purchased with shards.

That was most likely just a seasonal outfit that will come back with a shard price next year. I believe the 4 week time period was only for skins that would be permanently in the shop, but had an initial release with auric cells only.

  • When I get bored I just use the dbd randomizer site, and go with whatever it gives me (within reason as long as the perks/killers aren't totally contradictory.)

At the very least it makes killer a bit more fun and less stressful. I feel a bit less bad when I get stomped because I know I was using some weird, super non-meta build anyway. And sometimes I will do surprisingly well or stumble upon some perk combos that really work out.

  • @GreyBigfoot said:

For some odd reason, they're rolling it out slowly. Right now I believe they've done every survivor released before Kate.

But it seems inconsistent, look at Spirit and you'll see that all but her licensed & newest outfit can be bought with shards already. Adam still isn't like that.

I'm more talking about the part where they said that new skins released for auric cells only would get a shard price 4 weeks later. I'm wondering if anyone has noticed whether they are following through with that part.

  • I think this way nets you the same. Sorry for the crude circles.

    tome 14 level 3.png

  • Depends on a few things including my mood, my rank, my build and my killer. If I'm playing a killer I'm bad at or if I'm trying to play a fun meme-y build, I more likely to dodge a lobby that I suspect to be a SWF either because of their high prestige, all on comp, matching cosmetics, too many flashlights, etc. I'm usually okay if I think it's just a duo, but anything more than that spoils the fun.

I'm also more likely to dodge if I am one pip away from ranking up, or just while I'm still pipping up in general. Once I hit Iri 1, I don't feel like I have to sweat getting potentially stomped as much.

And if I just had to sweat my ass off against a frustrating 4 SWF, I'm much less likely to want to do that in the next game, so I'm more likely to dodge potential SWFs in that case as well.

  • I think the killer visuals are fine and unlikely to change. I imagine they will tone down the drone zone brightness/opacity a bit. And. hopefully, with the feedback, they could give her a better Mori. Though I don't think that should be the priority. The priority should be buffing her enough that she is actually threatening because right now she just feels super weak. Her power feels almost useless in most games.

  • Literally the most whiny, entitled people play this game, I swear. "I don't like the chapter, so that means the devs don't care about the players."

Dude, it's still the PTB. The whole point of the next two weeks is to get feedback and adjust the killer and new perks as needed. And even after that they will likely continue to make adjustments as they have done with the Knight. I'm sure they are hearing the feedback on this one from the community and the Fogwhisperers.

I don't think this is a particularly good killer, but there's still plenty to like in the new chapter. The eruption nerf is good news. The reworks of Red Forest and Shelter Woods are cool. And hopefully on release, or shortly thereafter, the killer will be adequately buffed.

But "boycott" away. No one expects you to buy content you don't like. I have like 120k shards saved up, but I reserve those for cosmetics I like. I'll be paying my $12 or whatever it is for this chapter, even if it's not the best.

Yeah, and i don't think that is correct:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JVU276RDB5T2/image.png

Once you complete the red node, the yellow node becomes a point you can move from, unless the level 4 tomes are different for some reason.

TBH i rarely have saved level 4 in the past so i never really checked and earlier levels usually don't have these 2 end nodes like this. Either way i should be able to confirm it in the next day or 2.

I guess I'll have to test it unless someone else can confirm, but I don't believe I've ever seen one end-node open up just because you completed a different end-node for any level of any tome. Though maybe I just never tried. Will have to check this tome.

  • @Reinami said:

Shouldnt need it, the node on the top right should activate the other 2 nodes when you complete it, and that node with the blue x is reachable from the middle one.

They're saying you can't get to the final survivor and killer challenges on the top right without completing that node with the blue x. PRetty sure Wimpy is right.

Even though there will be a 6.4.0 chapter the week after next, I have to say that not adding a hotfix patch to fix such a serious bug was neglecting us players and prioritizing the schedule.

Seriously. Like what are they thinking? This is a huge, very obvious bug that has been impacting every killer player in the game for a month now, and they've made absolutely no comment on it. Just quietly marked it as "acknowledged" here where 99% of the player base is never going to see it.

They need to make a tweet and explain what is going on and how/when they intend to address it.

Why is this taking so long to fix? This isn't some small bug. It's massive.

  • I completed it. Maybe try unequipping and re-equipping it?

  • 410k saved.jpg

Here's mine. Collect the red. Save the blue. 410k saved.

Why is this taking so long to fix? It's literally a two week problem that affects greatly the quality of the game.

For all the people experiencing frustration with the current killer pip system : give Pyramid Head a try as it seams safe from the bug in its own way with the execution. I happened to get Iri Devout, and it was overall easier to pip consistently in Iri 3-2, till 1.

I've also had luck with legion, as it's fairly easy to get iridescent emblems in the three other categories. Unfortunately, in iridescent ranks, it's not possible to get two pips. But you can at least almost guarantee you won't depip, and pipping is easier.

I really wish they would more vocally confirm that this issue is being worked on rather than just putting an acknowledged tag on it and then letting it sit for several weeks with no word.
