Saying Vecna takes no skill is quite the exaggeration. Mage Hand is a bit overtuned at the moment, I agree, but other than that he is completely fine. And luckily Mage Hand is getting a nerf very soon (I am hoping for today).

Im not saying he takes no skill at all, I'm saying the effort you need to put in to play vecna top tier is way less effort or skill needed compared to most other killers imo.

Even his flight of dammed is broken when you think about it, it's like having a loaded huntress hatchet but moving at 4.6ms.(yeah there's a longish cooldown but then you just switch to mage hand)

  • My top suggestion as a console player is turn the sensitivity to 100% an start flicking that wrist.

  • 99% sure it's intended or just left in, I've had this happen playing Freddy b4 an it seems fair to let the survivor finish the animation. (I'm no dev so could be wrong)

This would definitely be an interesting topic to bring up during a Freddy rework.

He only has one guarantee and which is iridescent addon

Anything else require precise control, mindgaming, and prediction

Literally everything of his kit has counter, too much counter even, and high win rate is also meaningless because he is new and most survivors don't even try to learn complicated killers

He requires control but I wouldn't call it "precise"

His FOD can guarantee injures in vault animations (no counter)

Mage hand if used to block the pallet b4 the survivor drops it leaves them in the open with no options unless RNG puts a window near by (no counter) not to mention it gives you zanshin tactics for free.

Then his fly and detection Orb give you all the tools you need to find survivors and keep gen pressure so you don't need info perks and can focus all ur perks on pure slowdown.

Ya I'm sure will find more ways to conterplay him but overall you can't counter ######### like being injured in a vault animation or loosing you're only resource in a ded zone. Plus all these take way less skill to pull off vs a nurse blink or blight rush.

  • It's weird I'm probably escaping like 2% more then usual on survivor, but when playing killer my win rate went up like 50% been getting connsist 3-4k w trapper on chaos shuffle might just be a stroke of luck but it's odd to me how survivors say there escaping more yet my killers are thriving rn.

  • Had the same thing happen ended up thinking it was bugged and stopped playing, read on here about the map boosting thing and all I can say is no one wants or asked for RPD to be boosted but it's good to know I'll be taking week long breaks when ######### maps get boosted, this is a great idea if the games trying to lower it's player count.

  • When your trying to get in the shower then Mathieu Cote pops out from behind the curtain and runs away.

Scares the ######### out of me every time.

  • These challenges are the sole reason I can play artist now, keep trying and experimenting you might surprise yourself.

  • Chase the killer for 3min while no one dose gens only to be left on the hook till the 2d state for your team to make a last minute unsafe save for you to immediately be tunneled out of the game.

If only that was not limited to being an addon for a map and would offer the possibility to tell your team what exactly the ping is supposed to mean... Maybe under that conditions this addon would actually serve any purpose other than looking funny...

I like the idea of more communication like that but look at perks like better together, empathy, bond, quick gambit, kindred, any other aura perk all would be useless BC you can just ping whatever you need to, survivor on hook (pings killer) injured survivor (pings location for heal) that's using kindred without a perk slot.. if anything they should do something to make SWF harder.

  • It wouldn't make sense to the lore, the entity carefully restricts how much power each character has and must keep it balanced in order for the trails to work, giving a survivor a working shotgun would give them to much confidence and mess up the way it feeds of emotion, same reason vecna has the mark to restrict his power so he doesn't instantly decimate all the survivors and give the entity time to feed.

  • We have been asking for 1 & 2 for years it looks like the devs are actually starting to listin with these newer updates hopefully will get something like this soon.

An we have a system to ping places it's called the glass bead map add-on ;)

  • Honestly idk I got board of it after my first few rounds playing consistently I find it fun to do once in a while.

I assume the People playing it alot don't have every perk and enjoy the experimentation but for someone who owns every perk and can use a perk randomizer online it doesn't feel like a super fresh experience, yes everyone else's perks are more random but the way I see it I don't know what perks people pick in regular solo matches so it's still random from my pov. Plus I enjoy choosing my load out and pairing wacky perks together I almost never use "sweaty" or "meta" perks anyway and get way more enjoyment choosing my own crazy builds.

  • TCM is a fun game to play here an there but in the long term it doesn't hold up the same way to DbD like you said DbD has 7 years of constant development an feedback vs a relatively new game still trying to find it's footing.

That being said we have a new Friday 13 coming out soon and I feel like that's going to bring some serious competition to DbD I even have a conspiracy theory that the reason we got Unreal engine and big updates like new game modes is BC behavior is threatened by them and rightfully so, if the fri 13 guys didn't get sued It'd probably still be competing with Dbd.

  • I don't t-bag to insult the killer I t-bag because its fun! Weather the killers looking at me or not I'm probably t-bagin something, there's no rhyme or reason it's just fun to do almost muscle memory at this point. Whenever Im killer an see survivors doing it I have a little chuckle before I smak them in the butt BC they just waisted all there time dancing instead of making the distance they need.

  • I wouldn't mind them adding optional GTA hacking style mini games, basically you can activate a mini game on a gen and it gaves you a simple puzzle like connecting wires or something, if you complete it the gen gains 5% progress or something if you fail or get interrupted the gen pops and regresses. I'd be high risk high reward especially since the mini games would block the survivors screen making it risky to be grabbed. of course this would all be optional to the survivor to do.

I honestly would not have issues with basekit corrupt, as a survivor player. I think that it would actually give killers the opportunity to chill and not bring 3-4 slowdowns, and/or tunnel/camp hard.

No, they will bring even more slowdown to stack on top of each other.

Same thing happened on 6.1.0. +10 seconds didn't make killers chill & fun, it made them bring thana to prolong gens even further.

Ya I have to agree basekit courrupt on every killer would be game breaking. it's like saying let's make BNP base kit on every survivor so they don't worry about gens and play more chill, that's not going happen.

I mean to assume that it is not designed as a meme addons means not realising that nurses power is far better than being a 115% killer without a power ^^ And I find that hardly believable.

Given the history of add-on design in DBD I do not find that hard to believe at all my friend, look at Billy he has all those useless add-ons that reduce delay&decay speed on the saw when all you have to do is burp your saw quickly so there's no point an you're better off runing diff add-ons, I find it hard to believe someone looked at that and went we should make 4 of those but it happened.

  • At first I thought this was a troll post but I think you're onto something,

I think if the game had some kind of balance detection system that can detect if your a killer with trap setup or poor traversal on a bigger map, when these certain conditions are met the "entity" could decide to interfere and apply a form of corrupt at the start of a trail.

Tho survivors would never stop complaining about this,

  • Im going to be the unpopular opinion here but I think Thana is an ok perk it dose what it needs to do, it prevents survivors from staying injured to rush gens and forces them to heal. Imo it's not about the %values but making survivors behave in a certain way, it's up to you to pick the right killer, perks & playstyle to synergize with it.

  • Short answer, there's always something wrong with MMR

  • Ye I play on console lol, It is a pretty fun add-on with blood favor, crowd control. I find I'm downing people too fast, even after hooking them there's still 30s+ wait to use ur Blink an it's very easy to get gen rushed loosing that traversal ability.

I guess it is supposed to be a meme addon. But yeah, the thing is pretty useless… Nurse basically has 3+ meme addons.

I don't think it's even supposed to be a meme add-on it was just poorly designed then forgot about, sure feels like one tho.

  • The only thing I can think of is

    1. Anything fun

    2. Anything balanced

These have seemed to be off limits for a while now.

  • Yeah It helps if you shake your camera like a mad man or do a little spin into the hit to confuse the aim assist and stop it from messing you up. the fact you can't turn this of especially with it being such an annoyance is beyond me.

  • Yea it sucks but behavior has consistently demonstrated they don't listen or care about there player base, again I'm just going by what I have personally witnessed in the past years playing this game but it seemes like it's being run with a "we know better then our players" mentality witch is silly because these players invest way more time and probably know more about the game then the dev team themself so these players definitely deserve a reward.

I'm not claiming this game to be balanced. It is an asymmetrical game from the ground up. Both teams have vastly different advantages and disadvantages. I also miss old DbD but I'm not sure if it was the best for the long term either. I just never was a fan of the fact that flashlights could not only be used at animation locks to gain some visual interference and to save people on pick up but also to just take a Wraith out of his stealth.

Also, you can call whatever killer you want a tunneling "B!#h" but people don't always play these killers the same. Leatherface was THE facecamp mascot back when he came out since you had to really bait him to avoid both of you going down. But not all Leatherface players would stare at you on hook. Wraith, in my opinion, while a fun killer to play is not an insanely powerful one and his add-ons make up for that somewhat or add mind games to him (everywhere bell, silent bell, terror/stain suppression add-ons). Even then, there are just better killers who can just tunnel better anyway.

I haven't messed with flashlights a whole lot since coming back but I'm not sure how I feel about the "used to take skill" statement. Yeah, there was a point I'd say it was probably harder but there was also points where you could blind a killer at any moment in the pick up animation and they'd drop the survivor when the animation finished. There was also the instant blind era which felt like a low skill floor to me. I've seen this sentiment before so maybe they are easier than they were commonly in the past but I'm not really sure why that it's stated to be this way. People say it but I never see the reasoning why they believe this or say it.

So I'm not sure that these changes have led to a more tunneling meta. I think that's always been something the game has struggled with. Facecamping was kind of part of the first bit of tunneling, just way less efficient as it scared off solo que players from saving more often (due to lacking the guaranteed coordination). Instead they'd go do generators with no pressure while their teammate's hook stage ticked downward. Has lightburn's disappearance really led to an uptick in tunneling? Why did this affect other killers who never had lightburn mechanics? Does Trapper tunnel more because his traps don't get dismantled either permanently or for 3 minutes? I'd imagine changes like that would reduce tunneling if anything. Or that integrating a built-in discouragement for facecamping with the ability to unhook if the killer stays around you too long has led to them tunneling more often. Obviously facecamping even then was a waste of the killer's time but now that it is practically forced onto them not to, they found a more efficient method to heighten their chances of a kill. It feels like a natural progression more than BHVR's fault because you can't lightburn a B tier killer.

I quit playing around the beginning of 2021 and just started again about two months ago. Has tunneling not been a relevant thing for long? Is this a new phenomena? I see the Borrowed Time as a baseline ability change was made almost two years ago. Has tunneling spiked since then? What's the time frame because I legitimately have no clue.

I'm Not talking about the OG insta blinds, there was a period of time (I think around the Stanger things chapter could be wrong) where you had to time the animation almost perfectly to stop a pickup this actually required more skill and you could justify giving the flashlights some utility, now it's much more forgiving to blind In the pickup animation, a new player with 3 hours in the game could watch a YouTube video and immediately use flashlights at the top teir level with very little to no practice, Some say this is good for the game but I don't think it sounds very fun for new killers getting blinded 30 times on their first match.

An no light burn dosint lead to tunneling lol but the "consistency" changes do imo, I'm just saying if were taking out mechanics that add variety to the game it will force everyone to play the same way and right now the way to play is eliminate 1 survivor ASAP. Look at the twins for example somehow we all decided that slugging is bad an needs to be removed from the game even tho survivors & killers have multiple perks dedicated to being in the downed state, it's changes like this that slowly strip different elements out of the game untill it's not us choosing how we play the game, but the devs and higher ups in the community dictating how we play like little puppet masters. The funny part is rn there clearly telling us to tunnel and play toxic on both sides.

This is just my opinion tho maybe you like the way the games heading and that's great, overall yes the game state is better in theory because we have more killers to compensate for lack of variety but every one plays the same 3 killers anyways so what's the point.

I realised I didn't provide a whole lot of examples so look at the hatch mechanic, I fully agree that the old hatch was unfair but there was nothing like the thrill of bringing a key&hatch offering then coordinating your team to shack with one gen left so you can all dip before the killer shuts it. Again I agree it was unfair but I wish instead of nerfing a Iri item and removing this style of gameplay they found a way to balance it and make it fun for everyone. Maybe like the key takes 60s to unlock a gate with 1 gen left but the killer gets notified and the other gate is blocked, idk it's in the past an I'm just spit balling but my point is there's better ways to change the game without strait up removing things, when we do this is limits our choices and leads to a singular playstyle.

  • It's general consensus that nurse is the strongest if you have the skill to use her otherwise probably Blight or Wesker.

Survivor wise going off perks alone meg has arguably 2 of the strongest perks in the game so I'd go with her. Although if we go by character models Ace & Sheva(paid skin for Jill) Apparently have the quietest sounds & grunts of pain so you could argue one of them is the best givin you have all the perks unlocked.

  • Forced Hesitantion is one of my fav perks on twins and is so under rated, combine with his stale biscuit(lowers his pounce cooldown by .2 sec) you can down survivors and the slowdown from FH makes it hard for supporting teammates to crush victor in time, allowing him to get multiple downs on injured survivors.

  • Leverage: definitely needs a rework all of your ideas are way better then it's current state

Thwack: I find is good on killers that can play around pallets like Wesker & chucky (or using knight's guards to break) you can save your thwack for a survivor with a flashlight then break the pallet while they try to blind u causing them scream mess up the blind and almost always get hit. So not sure about the gen kick thing as it could take away from that play style, but the perk definitely needs a bit of a buff overall.

Game Afoot: the problem with switching the obsession on every hit is the perk would be way to oppressive with nemesis or Pwyf, It would basically guarantee 60s of oblivious and a 5% speed boost on every hit.

What about in the case of reporting? Is it reportable or are reports for this thrown away?

You can report for unsportsmanlike behavior and rate the game but it generally won't do any thing but give the devs another stat to look at but doing it adds to the data overall so I say ya report them if it makes you feel better, and to give Bhvr credit I did report a cheater last week and a notification popped up on my screen saying they took action 2 days later.

  • Unfortunately it's hard to get cross progression for games like DBD some companies *cough*Sony*cough* don't encourage or work well with cross progression. sadly it usually takes bigger AAA games to have the sway and pressure to convince the producers of other platforms like PS4 or switch to allow cross progress due to somekind of porting thing.

  • @Starrseed said:

maybe its time to give perks something like a point system. every perk has points asigned and now you cant make to strong combos cause your points are not enough.

that could also be used as a means of balance since the point distribution could be changed rather then the perks.

as an exampel you have four categories 1point to 4 point. you can use one perk of every category to get to ten points or you can use two 4 point perks and one 2 point or two 1 point perks.

As nice as it sounds balance wise this change would ruin the game for alot of players including myself, half the fun is experimenting with with different perks, I purchase characters Bc i know there perks can be combined with any other giving me lots of replayability and stuff to try. Now your going to tell me I can't use a build I want because some imaginary number made up by some sweaty kids telling me it's to OP. I'd honestly stop playing Dbd instantly.

How do you even balance that what dose the game do in situations where there's conflicting perks like STBFL with GameAfoot or nemesis? arguably all good perks, you would never pair the 2 but the game could recognize this as a "strong build".

  • Real problem's honestly SBMM / MMR

every games a sweat fest once you hit a certain point, the chances of a killer matching with survivors who want to just chill search chests, cleanse totems to get BP are very rare. It doesn't help survivors will get called out for being "bad" or "selfish" teammates if they don't play the meta way,

At the same time survivors who want to go hard and play sweaty games get matched with Casual survivors causing a clash. These 2 types of survivors should never be matched together.

Then if you're a survivor just trying to play a chill game n run random perks chances are you'll get matched with a sweaty killer that will see your relaxed playstyle as a sign of weakness then immediately tunnel you out of the game.

That sounds fair. Honestly I hate looking behind me all the time in chase, it makes bump into things.

They should bring back lightburn it was a cool mechanic and gave a small counterplay.

Ya navigation can get tricky alot of people don't know the stare down has a slight lingering effect so you can quickly transition the camera forward to see where your going with no penalty.

It was Little things like light burn that made old Dbd so fun to play or disabling hag traps w the light, I'd be cool if they rolled with it and we got something like shing a flashlight on a survivor removes UVX.

  • He's honestly seems hard to balanced good players are going to land every shot systematicly taking out survivors giving them no real or fun counterplay (but it seems like the devs don't want any interesting counter play with removing light burn n all)

on the other hand players who are learning or not playing very well are going to get severely penalized for missing shots as the survivor will stair you down remove the effect making you reset all your progress and land another 2 uvx hits.

I'd maybe give unknown a shorter cool down & smaller blast radius, that way he can use his powers more often but survivors can also juke and counter little easier with the smaller radius.

  • Ya the change was totally unwarranted plus instead of wasting a slot on a perk like SB now I'd much rather run something like NOED or an extra slowdown which can end up being way more frustrating for survivors.

Look at perk like forced penance the killer can apply the broken status effect for 80s and all the killer has to do is tunnel the shiet out of survivors. why run a mangled perk or addon when broken basically has the same timer in most cases the balance makes no sense.

  • I've been thinking about this

When a killer kicks a gen undone stays active on the gen for 35/40/45s

Skill checks trigger 10-20% more often and are slightly faster. Good skill checks gain 1 token missed skill checks gain 3 tokens

Max 5 tokens each token regresses the gen by 2% and blocks it for 3 seconds for a total of 10% and 15s

If a survivor abandons the gen during this time tokens are applied the gen is blocked and begins regressing, if max tokens are reached the same effect applies.

  • Still think there should be a quick chat or "quip" option like in apex so soloQ can still communicate basic things

Like all you need is a simple

"I Got" followed by "The hook" "The totem" "The Gen" and a "don't save me" for those of us using perks like plot twist or deliverance.

At least put a way to notify people you are using certain perks, as certain perks cannot be used effectively without other survivors knowing you have them.

  • Besides the nasty 3 gens u could pull with old merchant I think getting 3 gend is entirely the survivors fault not some evil design from the devs.

It used to be that 3 gen was a legit Strat, survivors had to be somewhat strategic with what gens they do first or face a nasty end game.

Now killers get punished for survivors running blindly around the map doing whatever gen there one braincell guides them too, there are so many things survivors can do to stop a 3 gen like deja vu is actually a decent perk now with the genspeed buff. Even in soloQ I'd make sure to do the middle gens first and 3 gen was almost never a prob alsong as someone can hold chase long enough to get the first one or 2 gens done.

  • even tho I barely use adrenaline and main killer still said to see an OG perk done dirty. I bet the devs are going to make adren a healing only perk then add a new survivor perk that gives haste when you do gens or vise versa. <That's just my own speculation tho.

  • When anti-camp first came out it came in clutch a few times, had a couple wraiths an gohstface camp undetectable by the hook, but only got the anti camp because other survivors were being mindful of the mechanic with it just coming out and I was running perks like kindred to synergize, 90% of games especially SoloQ your teams going to go for an unsafe hook get downed crawl right beside the hook ur on and let the killer camp you both..
