To my knowledge, the only thing you can get from old tomes in bloodpoints and lore unlocks.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_producer
A video game producer is the person in charge of overseeing development of a video game.
RESPONSIBILITIES
An internal producer is heavily involved in the development of, usually, a single game. Responsibilities for this position vary from company to company, but in general, the person in this position has the following duties:
- Negotiating contracts, including licensing deals
- Acting as a liaison between the development staff and the upper stakeholders (publisher or executive staff)
- Developing and maintaining schedules and budgets
- Overseeing creative (art and design) and technical development (game programming) of the game
- Ensuring timely delivery of deliverables (such as milestones)
- Scheduling timely quality assurance (testing)
- Arranging for beta testing and focus groups, if applicable
- Arranging for localization
- Pitching game ideas to publisher
In which part does it says that a video game producer/director is directly in charge of balance?
Basic word definition. I think we can both agree on what game means and both agree that in this scenario it specifically refers to Dead by Daylight. You can pretty much guess the etymology of director by the similarity to the word direction. The director is the person who determines direction. So the game director of Dead by Daylight would be the person who determines the direction of how Dead by Daylight progresses if you used deductive reasoning.
I really thought my intention was obvious considering how when I used the title game director, I specifically used it with the words game and direction, but I apologize if my intentions somehow weren't clear. But honestly, I think you flat out knew that and specifically chose to ignore it and use the phrase "game producer" even though neither of us had used that phrase at this point. However, Mandy makes a valid point in stating that Cote is no longer the game director of Dead by Daylight for at least a year now. I just wasn't aware of this cause I had never seen it mentioned until this thread.
-
That would make moris nearly pointless. Their rarity rating would have to drop to brown and yellow to compensate for such a major nerf.
-
Sure, as long as they make it to where no generators can progress when survivors are around the hook.

As I said, he is the Head of Partnerships and has been for a long while now.
How long is "a long while now"? Unless it was less than a year, people who's job it is to do more research than me are also getting it wrong.
We speak with Mathieu Cote, Game Director of Dead by Daylight about how he and his team work with the community to make the game better.Of course, it doesn't help that BHVR seems to gotten rid of the staff list from their website and other sites don't seem to have been updated yet.
Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric survival horror video game developed by Behaviour Interactive.[1]Dead by Daylight was released for Microsoft Windows in June 2016,[2][3] released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in June 2017,[4][5][6] released on Nintendo Switch on September 24, 2019, and a mobile port was released on iOS and Android on April 17, 2020. -

He said once in a stream that sometimes he approaches the balance team about stuff that he thinks is op and they tell him: "No, it is not."
From that quote I would assume that he gives inputs regarding balance sporadically, but the final say has the balance team.
Just because the balance team is honest, doesn't mean he doesn't have control over them. I'm sure he mostly gives them free run, but I don't think the balance team really has that much say on what's screwing up the game's balance anyways. To my knowledge, the balance team is separate from the new character development team or least that's what I've heard. Hell, I don't even know if the balance team the one who do reworks either.
And when you really face facts, the things that are really impacting the balance of the game are swf, genrushing, tunneling, and camping. While they cancel each other out, individually they all have a significant impact on balance. It's possible the balance team considers all that balanced, but it would strike me as odd if they did. I can't help feeling it's somebody else who's saying that's not worth focusing the team's efforts on.
-
On the up side, they pretty much finished up the list of killers they can shove charges and cooldowns on. Wraith will be the only one left after this and his power isn't really set up for either of those.
Imagine if they did this crap to survivors. You can only repair a generator for 40 seconds before you overheat and have to cooldown and do something else. Ironically, it would probly help balance the game, but boy would there be an uproar.

But he is Partnership Manager not a designer, so doesn't make the decisions with anything related to that...so it's immaterial how good or bad he is at playing the game anyway.
Quite a few of the designers play, Almo & Jeff are the two that come to mind...they play both sides consistently and have a lot of hours in the game and are both pretty good. And Peanits plays a lot, again both sides and as BHVR works as a team then I think it's fair to say, his opinion is probably listened to.
Are you honestly telling me that the Game Director doesn't control which direction the game goes in?
-
Dang, this petition has gotten more people on it than I was expecting. It's getting close to half of the average active player count.
Has Scott Cawthon said anything about Dead by Daylight yet? It's so hard to get info from that guy.

I'm gonna reiterate just so were clear on what I said and you let me know if you STILL have a problem with my logic. Cosmetics outfits who's individual pieces would result in obvious clipping if mix and matched SHOULD be tied together. An example being if theres a hood it would look really weird with Feng's pony tail to be sticking out the back.
If theres NOT an issue like that however, I feel like it SHOULDNT be tied together, such as in the picture I posted above with one of Cheryl's outfits.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2XTL1T2H6A05/20200703153356-1.jpg
Theres really no reason why any part of this would have any issues with any outfit combo. Surely you could swap on a different T shirt and it should look just fine.
No, they shouldn't be tied together because of possible clipping issues. Just because one of my shirts could look absolutely ridiculous with one of my pairs of pants doesn't mean that particular shirt should always be worn with only one particular pair of pants. I just shouldn't wear the shirt with the pants that makes it look ridiculous. If you don't like the clipping combination, then don't use it. Don't invalidate every possible good looking combination just because bad combinations exists.
-
It's only gonna slaughter Huntress for those crap connect killers that abuse the client side hit detection that allows them to hit survivors 5 seconds behind where they are in real time so that they can get hits when the survivor would definitely be behind cover without crap connection issues. Huntress is the one killer that absolutely should have never had her hatches be killer client side. It's freaking ridiculous how far away from where the survivor is that she can get hits.
@YaiPa said:
people said the same thing when dedicated servers were about to come out.
The reason they were saying that when dedicated servers were about to come out is because we naturally thought they would have added server side hit detection with the servers. The fact that they kept it client side upon server release is a choice that baffles me to this day.
-
Your final point is completely irrelevant as that's the entire reason the system is currently disabled. It's been proven that the dc penalty system is absolutely an improvement for the game. Your hatred of it is just a give away that you're a rage quitter who can't maturely handle loss.

You COULDNT use other hair with this hood due to clipping. Alternate hair with this hood would clip straight through it. You'd have a ponytail sticking out the back.
As for the hood being a stand alone cosmetic like Bunny Feng... I'd argue it shouldnt even be a thing for Bunny Feng.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/CALBMSHG7GY3/20200703222639-1.jpg
The ends of this that SHOULD connect with the rest of the outfit looks like its defying gravity and just looks bad.
The problem with that logic is you have the option of wearing everything together to avoid clipping. There's nothing put in place that would screw up your styling preferences by having the cosmetic pieces separate.
The reverse however is quite the opposite. Those who want to wear pieces separately and can do so without clipping being an issue with them by all logic should be able to do so. But this makes that impossible with this cosmetic and quite likely a number to come. I'm willing to bet $100 that pieces of this set could be used separately with other cosmetics to make some really neat outfits if it was possible, but now we'll never be able to see.

How? If they ddos the server, did it punish all the players if the server crashes? I don't see how else it could happen. But if it worked that way, ######### is with the coding that allows a server to crash and yet somehow still manage to distribute punishments?

Yea dbd does have a childish fan base, but its not made of children. Any adult would find a fnaf chapter boring and if everyone starts playing him, probably stop playing. Its meant to be horror, not jumpscares. Having a jumpscare killer will defeat the purpose of dbd. Dbd killers are all slashers because that fits the game design. Add any jumpscare killer, and it just goes against the story.
Yeah, everybody knows that slasher films never use jump scares. Honestly, people that use that anti-jump scare bs while simultaneously saying slasher films are all that deserves to be in DbD are people that refuse to think.
-
I prefer Bond over Empathy; but in solo games, I prefer Kindred over both of them.
-
I'm finding them in chests all the time. Are you sure you don't have something that increases higher item rarity in chests when you're searching through? That affects the chances that it will be something other than an event item.
-
I really wish the devs had just let the levels go up to any number of digits to avoid the people who don't seem to understand that devotion is just a helpful way of letting the players know the xp per level is resetting. So many keep thinking it's more than a hundreds place.

Plus FNAF isn't horror. It's a game for five year olds. Combine that with a mainly adult player base and you get a severe decrease in popularity.
This is a statement that shows a comprehension level worse than that of a 5 year old. To state that FNAF isn't a horror game is just to pretty much put a sign on your forehead that says "I'm full of close minded bias". The statement that FNAF is only for 5 year old is also beaming with stupidity. Anybody capable of critical thinking for more than 2 seconds instead of just blurting out nonsense in complete close minded arrogance can tell you how a 5 year old would react to that game, and it definitely wouldn't be favorable. And there's a significant number of indicators that DbD doesn't have a mainly adult playerbase. You being one of them.

Who would the killer even be? A slightly menacing teddy bear?
Who would the survivor be? A security camera?
This doesn't make you look clever. On the contrary, it makes you look ignorant. It makes it seem like you have absolutely no clue what FNAF is about to figure this out on your own, and even after having Springtrap suggested time and time again by others, you still can't figure out who the wanted killer would be.
@Doultime said:
The argument that stranger things doesnt fit its stupid. Stranger things like dbd its a love letter to old slasher movies that a bunch of the playerbase loves. Fnaf is a jumpscare game with "deepest lore" on par with slenderman/jeff the killer.
Idc if they add freddy or whoever u want in the game but you have to understand, there is people that wont find cute animatronics screaming their thing.
Also when people say fnaf is cringy is not about the children that loves the series its the tone/design of the games
Stranger Things is nothing like old slasher movies. It's almost pure action/sci fi. It barely even qualifies as horror. That being said, I have absolutely no problem with Stranger Things being added to DbD because I'm not so self centered that I think my personal judgement of horror should be reason to stop characters being added to DbD so that other people can enjoy them.
Also, the lore in FNAF is a lot more complex than the lore in Stranger Things. The problem is that genius of FNAF's lore is that you have to do deductive work and research in order to figure it out so people that like puzzle solving love the lore's complexity. Meanwhile people who lack the intellect required to put effort in to understand something also tend to be lacking the intellect to realize that they don't understand what they clearly don't understand. Then they proceed to go make ignorant comments in their arrogance.

Mass appeal ? Hahaha no. Prove it ?
Spamming the forum with these kiddy threads is not mass appeal, if you and your entitled kid brigade want to turn dbd into a fluffy bubblegum clown shoe style game by all means convince the devs to add it.
I personally would not stick around if they ever do.
You are allowed to have an opinion and so am I.
There's a petition with over 8000 added saying they want FNAF added to the game and you know it. But you're so blatantly biased and close minded that you can look straight at that and say "No, not possible. Must be fake." If you want proof, stop shoving your fingers in your ear and screaming "no no no no no" at everything that proves it.

So yeah I guess I would just stop supporting and playing the game. Please don't add that cheese garbage fan base here. It's bad enough i have to seen these plebs make threads about that dumpster fire game.
The real children here are the self centered brats who think something they don't like but CLEARLY has a mass appeal shouldn't be added.
-
Let's give survivors a cooldown and charge for repairing as well and then this craziness might be viable.
-
This is a weird time for this thread. Killer queues are currently high because people are still trying to get crowns for the annivesary event. And because of the 4 survivors to 1 killer per game, it's gonna be about 4 times more difficult to queue for killer with most people wanting crowns on all characters. If you're having long queues than you want for survivor, stop playing swf.

It's not scary though, there's tons of choice other than fnaf in games what happen to all of the resident evil fans,Fear they could get Alma ,A killer from Siren I don't know much about the series but it's scary there's just so many better choice's I'm sure there's multiple characters to be into then eventually youll have a favorite character, but fnaf is not scary and goofy.
I believe Resident Evil actually has a game with an asymmetrical pvp mode. It's unlikely they would help out their biggest competition in that field. I've never played Fear or Siren, but are those games more popular than FNAF?
-
This would be either an insanely OP killer perk or a survivor perk so bad that it would give No Mither a run for worst perk option.

If survivors get another way of cleansing torment, it has to be time consuming enough to make up for the nerf to PH. Maybe something like Freddy's alarm clocks appearing on the other side of the map mixed with the skill check requirements of Pig's jigsaw boxes.

Can you tell me a little about the characters, how he attacks does he have control over electronics, what's his deal?
Springtrap's canonical means of killing wouldn't really fit as a power; maybe as a mori. A number of the animatronics in FNAF have a dual nature of being both an animatronic that moves around automatically and a mascot suit a person can wear and walk around in. In order for a person to put it on as a suit, the robotics on the inside have to be folded back and locked into place with springlocks. Springtrap generally kills by luring children into a back room, putting them into one of these suits, and then triggering the springlocks so that all the robotics sudden snap into place puncturing the victim from all sides.
It's not really suited to be a power. If you were to base his power on the FNAF games, a reasonable power would be to some how inflict survivors with debuffs that require them to perform a specific action; if they don't complete the action, then a jumpscare would pop up, cover the majority of their screen, and cause them to scream. His physical attack would probly be just swiping an arm at the survivor much like the Hag.
-
You kind of self sabotaged yourself by being too specific. While most people who want FNaF are going to want Springtrap as the killer. Michael Afton as survivor is a bit of a stretch. It's not that different from saying that you want the puppet as the survivor. Though having non human survivors would be a new twist for the game.

People that run self care should swap it for kindred or bond and your teams efficiency will be much better
Both of those require you to run all the way over to another player who may not even heal you which uses a lot of time instead of just starting the healing process immediately. Not to mention, using Kindred to find somebody to heal you means taking yourself, the person healing you, and the person hooked off the gens (even more if you need the 4th person to do the unhooking). That's definitely no increasing your team's efficiency.

the issue is, so were the BBQ and Howling grounds event items, and instead of doing a mini event where you could maybe grind to get them again, they gave them for free, giving a giant F U to the players who earned it way back when
Wait, did they actually give those items away for free? I was under the impression they were adding to them to the shop like they did for the Hallowed Blight cosmetics. If they're giving them away for free, that decision comes as a surprise.
-
While it's probly too late to do anything about the toxicity since it's already gotten too far into a downward spiral, it's mostly a result of highly oppressive tactics being available for way too long compared to what most developers would allow. When crazy tactics that make it impossible to play freely in the game exists, it's highly frustrating and you would naturally think the developers would do something about it. When they don't, your only hope is that other players don't use those tactics, but some are going to. And then some are going to use those kind of tactics in response to those kind of tactics. Then people are going to get upset that the tactics are regularly being used. Then people start blaming other players instead of the developers who should be doing a better job at balancing gameplay.

I don't know how talking about hair color could be racist. But it would probly be less work to change than all her dark outfits. A lot of her hair is reused between head cosmetics so when you do one, you've pretty much done the work for a number of others.

I lost mine in Spring 2017 and honestly never looked back, because the moment this whole Savefile Desaster happened i knew there wouldn't be any compensation. Sometimes its easier to let go. I can't imagine this whole thing grinding my gears for 3 years. It sucks, but is it worth all the hustle and headache?
The irony of asking is it worth all the hustle and headache about something that was strictly compensation to make the old grind worth all the hustle and headache.

That mixing with shards and cell cosmetics still earns more money than no purchase at all which was my response to the pyramid outfit not being mixable. It's a huge anti selling point. Even the Legion one I don't see why the weapon is included. I bought it because it's hilarious they made Legion a band of furries but if a set isn't that massive a change they probably won't be bought often.
You're saying partial purchase would be better than no purchase which is indeed true. But in the same post, you admit that you bought a full outfit for Legion even though you admit you wouldn't have bought the knife if it wasn't a set. You know what's even better than partial purchase? Full purchase. You just proved that the tactic works.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:

I would disagree. You will get more money if you would allow mix&match. If someone only likes the Headpiece of an Outfit, they will spend those 400 ACs to get it. But they will not want to buy the full set, if they dislike the Body and Legs. On the other hand, if you allow mix&match, players might more encouraged to buy the full set - because it might be possible that they like the Body and Legs later, or something comes out which makes a good combination. AND it is discounted at this point.
So if anything, the decision to sell Outfits only as Sets will reduce the will to buy it instead of make the player to spend money on it.
You seem to forget how people use iridescent shards when mix and matching.
-
I'm honestly surprised they didn't get a Silent Hill nurse cosmetic.
-
This would be a really weird chapter.
-
The be fair, the real criteria is "Can we get away with forcing players to spend more money without it being too obvious".

Have you ever had a joke? Then someone explained it, and some people still didn't get it? So they explained it more in depth and it is no longer funny? Or that friend who keeps telling the same joke and it ceases to be funny.
Lets look at it another way. What makes a lot of things scary is not knowing what exactly it is or where it came from. The more you over reveal its inner workings, the less scary it is. Also the repetition of the same over and over. Jumpscares in first game, second, third, fourth, fifth... Nothing new on the base level.
So you don't understand the difference between a joke and a secretive background lore. That's not a good reason to pretend your personal opinions should be grounds for FNaF not being added as a chapter. All this really proves is you have no clue about FNaF in both lore or the genius that Scott used by making a whole community do joint detective work around a mystery that he didn't give enough clues to solve fully and then increase the mystery when giving new clues to make even more communal dective work required to come up with more theories.
The very fact that you would actually say "what makes a lot of things scary is not knowing what exactly it is or where it came from" while describing FNaF (the one horror series that doesn't fully reveal this at any point) is ridiculous when by default you have to defend all the other horror series that have come to DbD which do just that if you're saying FNaF doesn't fit DbD but they do. And I can't believe that I actually have to explain this to people because it should be so blatantly obvious, but if FNaF got a DbD chapter, it would be more than just jumpscares in this game. The amount of close minded bias you needed to think that they would make DbD like FNaF instead of FNaF like DbD is extremely disappointing.

I would say its definitely not intended, considering you CAN hit people vaulting windows with this ability (in fact vault hits are generally the easiest for low rank Pyramids to pull off). I can't see why they would intentionally treat pallets differently granting invincibility against this ability.
Sidenote: Did Pyramid just miss here. Not sure the pallet trick had anything to do with it. Particularly if you pause the video as the runes appear hes outside the hit region (by the skin of his teeth) then as the hit occurs he enters the pallet animation, which moves him into the would be hit region... slightly after the hit occurs possibly? Regardless I'd love to hear if anyone else can pull this off reliably.
Now that you mention it, yeah, he might have just missed. The hit goes at an angle slightly away from Dwight.
