But you completely ignore the fact that they had BNPs. That matters.
So I ask again. What should BNPs do that won't make them too OP? Because they have already been nerfed in the past.
If you don't care about what they did to complete that gen, there is your problem. Him setting traps where (again) THEY didn't spawn and he fully well knew this.... allowed them to start on a gen together and burn their BNPs. If he had made different choices he could have prevented that gen to pop, and probably even snowballed. It's not like they were that far from him.
Im not ignoring it. Im saying its broken. Idk what they should do, but clearly 4 of them stacked on a single gen is broken. My problem is that its even possible for a gen to be completed that quickly period. Whether they had done that 17 seconds into the match or saved it for the last gen. Doesnt matter. Its broken af.
-
That happened to me on xbox the other day. I submitted the 4 clips i got to bhvr. Hopefully they ban the bastard
-
Congrats on rank 1 😊
Believe it or not i kind of prefer solo, or maybe i need to play with different people. I hate the constant bitching in my ear that I hear. Its fun sometimes but i prefer going in alone with no items and using whatever i can find.

I play Trapper and I never put traps at the start of the match where no gens are in site. That's his choice.
No I don't expect him to KNOW exactly where to go. What I do expect him to know is that after he...
a) Knew at least 3 of them had toolboxes.
b) Has corrupt, therefore allowing him a better tracking path to know which gens to check first.
c) Has Ruin, therefore allowing him to counter their usage of any type of gen speed add on by pressuring that gen, and easily getting his STBFL stacks. Because the survivors would have had to play pretty ballsy (which by the looks of the match they would have) in order to complete that gen.
... he would have made a different choice than to set two traps where survivors wouldn't have spawned anyway, because that is where HE spawned. If that is his style of playing trapper, great! kudos to him. He still got a 4k out of it.
I just don't agree that suggesting 3 BNPs as evidence that there is a clear "gen speed" problem serves as a receipt.
I play trapper too, the spots he put them in are good spots gens or no. And just to reiterate, those traps came into play so clearly that was the right call.
What were talking about is the fact that its even possible to do a gen in 17 seconds. That is ######### broken idc what they burned to do it or what decision he made that could have stopped it. Broken AF. We can agree to disagree cause theres nothing youre going to say to convince me thats ok.
This is a symptom of the problem. There are things those kids could have done that are much worse as i explained to the other guy.

So let me ask you something.... What would be balanced about BNPs that warrants them being Ultra Rare?
The dude had Corrupt AND Ruin. He chose to go in a direction in which no gens were being worked on. (That's not the game's fault, it's his). Part of applying pressure is knowing how to use your perks too. When I bring Ruin, I make SURE to check generators (that is part of pressuring), especially if they have toolboxes.
You are giving him too much credit for what very little he had to do to apply pressure because of how badly and altruistic those survivors were playing.
Alright, cool, then bringing an ultra rare mori and killing people off first hook is perfectly balanced then yeah? (Thats rhetorical, obviously it isnt).
It was the start of the match. Theres 7 generators out there he has to walk to in 17 seconds...are you REALLY saying he should have known exactly which generator they were on? Thats why he ran corrupt, to reduce that 7 down to 4. Hes playimg as the trapper, trappers put traps down at the start of the match, if he hadnt put those 2 measly traps down and been good enough to force them into them he would have lost. Luckily, as we all seem to agree, those kids played very stupidly.
And yes, im well aware of how to pressure generators, were talking about 1 generator being finished 17 seconds into the match. Thats broken AF and it truly amazes me anyone would try and justify that.

killers that come to the forums and complain about gen rushing are usually trash
I don't agree with your solution, because... this otz match is an example, 3 gens left and 4 sacrificed survivors. Imagine if there was a second objective... and limiting gens to 45 seconds makes no sense. All four of them had tool boxes with speed addons, prove thyself, and 3 had bnp... 45 seconds with all that is madness... They dedicated 4 items with addons for the sake of one gen
Ohzt wrecked those kids because they got over confident and cocky. If youre not a trash killer yourself you know that. If they had split up and worked 4 seperate gens after that first one the game would have been over about 3 minutes later. Wanna bet ohtz knows that too? Lets also not ignore the fact that ohtz is a devotion rank 14. Youre telling me every killer out there needs to devote 1400 ranks to become good enough to compete with teams that can just bring 4 items and add ons? How in the holy christ do you manage to justify that in your head?
Idc that they dedicated 4 items to it. Thats stupid fast, theres nothing balanced about 17 seconds for 1 generator, just like theres nothing balanced about an ebony mori off first hooks. Both are really stupid dumb and it truly amazes me anyone would defend something thats so obviously broken.
And if we want to get real, they played this really dumb. If they had split up from the beginning and worked 4 different gens with those tool boxes and BNPs the game would have been over before he got his second down. What we wotnessed is the equuvalent of a nuke in a toddlers hands, they had no idea what they were doing.

if you balance the game towards trash killers, you're going to have killers like otz 4king every match.
What balances do you suggest? If you nerf gens because of 4 players with toolboxes and BNP in the same generator, whar would happen with solo queue or casual swfs?
I never said balance the game around trash killers. Are you saying all killers other than ohtz are trash?
My balance would be secondary objectives a long with a hard limit of how quickly a gen can be done of 45 seconds. For counter balance moris are death hook only and keys only work for the person bringing it. Thats it. All these things play into eachother so they all need to be touched.
With all that said we need to see what theyre doing to beginning of matches. Cause that might do it whatever it is.

I don’t, but I’ve seen killers doing this: either waiting out the locker, or waiting by a slug in “fear” of unbreakable too, which is silly because it’s good to let survivors waste that perk early on too.
Yeah ive only ever done that when the games already over. Its stupid otherwise

If they have 3 BNPs. Yes it is.
They obviously got on the same gen together and knew they were going to. Otz didn't make the right call and check the right gen... aka bad RNG. If he had they would have used their BNP and he would have pressured them off while his Ruin would have regressed it.
It happens from time to time.
Theres absolutely nothing balanced about a gen going off in 17 secs. You know what the balance to that is? Ohtz, ohtz is the balance. Most other killers would have got waxed that game and if those survivors hadnt been filled with a ton of false confidence, I doubt even he would have stopped them

Honestly lately DS hasn’t been a problem for me anymore. I mean seriously, it’s just a stun.
It’s only really a problem at endgame, but I know go out of my way to remove DS from as many survivors as possible as early as possible.
I won’t camp a hook, but I’ll do my best to down someone fresh off a hook before 60 seconds elapse, pick them up, eat the stun, let them run off so I can find other survivors. So I semi-tunnel to get rid of as much DS as possible.
Slugging a potential DS user and waiting for 60 seconds, or waiting by a locker for 60 seconds is probably the most wasteful, least smart approach a killer can take towards countering DS.
Eat the stun, take DS out of late game.
Wait why would you slug the ds user and stand there for 60 seconds? Slug them and go chase someone else. Best case youre pressuring 3 survivors at once, worst case 2 survivors. Slugging them is WAY better than eating the stun unless its early game. Like only 1 to 2 mins in.

Slug them. Like is it really that hard to do?
"But they might have Unbreakable" SO THE ######### WHAT. Let them burn it, you have 23 seconds to chase another survivor. That's 2 not doing anything. If someone comes to help that guy up then that's 3/4 survivors not doing anything.
IT IS NOT HARD TO PLAY AROUND.
Also if you eat the DS early then it's permanently removed from the game and you can freely tunnel that player to death with no penalty. If you find yourself is a really good position, just eat the DS immediately. Don't try to wait it out and decide 10 seconds later. Just eat it.
I've had games a full SWF meta with DS/UB and I still 4k without getting hit by DS because I don't just pick them up like a bot. If I get hit by DS it's on purpose to make them waste it. If you have 4/5 gens then it's a great time to make them waste it, so long as you have some pressure on the other 3 (they are injured/scrambled/slugged/etc.).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1339401#Comment_1339401
11:00 OH GEE WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT. FOUR DEAD SURVIVORS. God forbid he get's DS'd after picking up survivors that were just on a hook. Almost like their perks are doing what they say on the ######### card or something.
It doesn't punish the killer for "doing good" it punishes them for not changing tactics and picking up a survivor that was just hooked. Like bro, are you for real with this video?!?
Every bit of this is true. In the last week ive only been hit by 1 ds that i didnt mean to eat and that was just cause i lost track. Still 4k'd that game. The TRUTH is, ds is actually teaching killers a valuable lesson. Slug more. If theres still 4 or 5 gens left and they do something stupid they BETTER have ds cause ill eat that ######### all day

you can’t tell me basement bubba isn’t as unfair as infinite’s tho lol
Thats leatherface. By now if youre still getting downed near tge basement vs a leatherface thats on you. If someone is hooked in tge basement against leatherface thats a gg, im not goin down there. This is actually pretty simple.
As far as infinites are concerned, you dont face a basement camping bubba every game, infinites at one point were EVERYWHERE. So no, i dont think its comparable
-
😂😂😂
-
I think the mechanic of the basement is fine how it is.
That said customizable basements would be dope af 😃 like if you could change the color, add stuff to the walls like skulls or chains or heads of survivors youve killed a bunch of times. Id pay for that
-
Ive seen it a few times as killer, a survivor getting that much. I think highest i got was 25k
-
Ive had a few try, only 1 actually won the game though but i didnt dc. MOST of these bully squads are actually super preductable once youve played against enough of them
-
It can be frustrating i know.
-
I think in ew3 he should move a little faster. Maybe 118
-
Personally I think ds is fine. I just slug people and they can lay on the ground and think about the dumb thing they just did while their timer runs out. The only time I eat a ds is if its early in the match. The general thought is "that was stupid, theres still 4 gens left. You BETTER have ds" usually they do. Theyre typically quiet the rest of the match after that.
-
The first one is a small frame drop, this is the sort of thing that gets people screaming for console optimization.
Ive seen the second one happen to but assumed it was on me
-
I was wrecking ######### last night as pig. But the weaker the character the more aggressive you have to be. People were doing gens with an active trap on their head. 🤬
Freddy and doc are the closest to playing casually you can get in killer red ranks.
-
@claudetterealness depends on the situation and on your definition of camp and tunnel. Define those so we know how youre using them
-
Agreed. 15 seconds full stop would have been cool. Would have synergized well with survelliance. As is, it blows and theres 0 reason to use it.
-
@DwightOP they played the whole match with 3 perks. Where do you get "without having to do anything"
-
@noctis129 that just happened 😂
-
@DrNectarine I really like growing rage but it needs to be modified a bit. Given that its increasing movenent speed it HAS to cap at 120m/s (even that might be a bit much).
So maybe this instead:
Everytime youre stunned gain a token. For each token gain .25/.50/1 m/s to movement speed. No more than 5 tokens. Hooking a survivor removes a token.
This way its not limited to pallet stuns and tokens get removed to make it go away.
It might be game breaking still but would be so fun paired with pwyf + fired up + brutal strength.
-
Killer Perks:
Wicked Game: Pressing the active ability on a regressing gen causes the next 1/2/3 people to touch that gen to lose a health state (does not inflict dying and only applies to one gen). Takes 3/2/1 seconds to apply.
Salt: Survivors in the dying state bleed out 30 secs/45 secs/ 1 minute faster.
Hard Luck: Survivors Luck is reduced by 25/ 50/100%
Survivor Perks:
Bully : stunning a killer causes a 150% speed boost for 3 secs. Causes the exhaustation status effect for 60/50/40 secs.
Take a beating: being both exhausted and injured hides your scratch marks for 10/15/20 secs.
Shy: stunning a killer hides all killer aura reading abilities for 10 secs, cool down of 60/45/30 seconds.
-
I agree with OP.
That said, I ran NOED as part of an end game build the otger night. I didnt get a single hate message. In fact one dude gave me kudos on the blood warden activation.
There of course are salty people that will always complain, but i think MOST people take issue when the killer first hook face camps, does that all game, and then also has noed. And truthfully, unless youre just messing around, if youre doing that specifically, youre probably not very good at the game.
-
Yeah the grind is pretty awful. They need to do something.
-
I actually wish it went a bit further. Id like a custon character creator option. I know that wont happen because it might detract from sales, but I think it would be cool. On survivor side anyway.
-
Im not even remotely sorry that I camp/tunnel/slug when the gens are going to fast. If were down to 2 gens in what feels like an unreasonable timeframe, i am cranking the ######### way up and i dont care what people think about it. I laugh at your dms you send me upset.
I dont behave this way at the start, though i will slug if i see 2 of you.
-
@Dr_Loomis lies, I cant be the only one that wants shirtless Kate
-
Ive always thought hex perks should light all the totems. Each totem thats broken reduces the effect. Youd have to buff the effects from where they are now and when 3 totems have been broken the effect would be weaker than it is now.
This would encourage survivors to break all the totems increasing match speed while also making it feel like not a wasted perk slot. Theyd have to get a little creative with some of the perks, like im not sure how devour could work, but im sure they could do something fun
-
I always send a ggwp to the top survivor, well almost always. When im survivor its super rare i dont send ggwp to killer.
What im getting at is, be the change you want to see in the world. Rubbing it in their nose that you won is just poor form. Ive only ever done that when they message me talking ######### first after they just got waxed
-
Its so weird to how often it happens. I see it constantly when i play killer and happens WAY to frequently when I play survivor.
-
@LordGlint if thats true then yeah a lot of survivors are in trounle. Half of them (in the reds mind you) dont even bother looping. Run to pallet, camp, drop, run, repeat. If killer catches up hope he cant hit the juke. Honestly its not even the 360s that are so bad. Its what I call the flick. Tgey cut left like theyre going to 360 then immediately cut right. Thanks to aim dressing (🙄) the killers camera and weapon are still going left and by tge time it catches up survivors already gone.
Itll be fun to play against pc killers. Looking forward to it
-
@LordGlint you think so? I figured 360s with a controller is easier so pc killers may not be ready. Im ASSUMING hitting pc users is going to be a little easier as the jukes wont be as good. But i guess well see.
As for the killrates yeah im sure there isnt much difference
-
It would actually be pretty interesting to see how the kill rates vary from one platform to tge next.
-
Thats cause we dont ######### around on xbox. Sounds like youre right where you need to be, where its cushy and soft
-
If matchmaking were better youd see noobs 20-16 then dcers and hard face campers 15-13.
-
Yeah ive never seen it in there before
-
As a killer i spend a lot of time behind them, its important...
-
Take a step back and wait for them to stop spinning. Then smack

There can be a huge difference in skill in 6 ranks. On one hand, if I am performing well against those ranks, I should be that rank. If I'm not, then I shouldn't be playing them.
Every game with a grind has some kind of reward. Diablo keeps you grinding with the hope of better gear. Ranking is the only reward dbd has. Bloodpoints aren't a reward, gameplay alone is too repetitive to be rewarding. That leaves rank. Every game has a win condition, but y'all don't have one.
I lumped them together because a draw is a loss. At least one or two survivors will pip on a killer draw, so they win.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1336830#Comment_1336830
I camped twice, both times at the end of the match and both times were depips. The brutal games were a 3k devour hope wraith against a 4 man swf. A 3k as hag with noed, got em right at the end with basement. And a completely average 2k with meyers.
The wraith match was the most irritating, because I lost due to their coordination on gens and healing.
So with devour hope youre lowering the total number of hits and hooks you get which can impact your pips. Maybe thats it 🤷♂️

@Mew said:
rank matters from ranks 20-10, but from 9-1 it doesn't matter at all.
Theres a noticable difference between a rank 1 survivor and a rank 4 survivor from the killers perspective. I can tell.
Yes, there are boosted players, just like there are players in green that belong in red, but typically you can see the difference

I don't main any one killer. I play wraith and doc more than the others though. The entire ranking system boils down to time, which is 100% controlled by survivors, hence the frustration.
The emblem systems don't punish the survivors near enough for the gen rush meta.
Alright im gonna ask but just know im not judging. Are you camping a lot? If youre typically getting 3 kills a game and not pipping theres something in your gameplay thats causing you to get less hooks/hits than normal. Idc if you are camping, its whatever, but that could explain it 🤷♂️
If teams legit gen rush and you dont find a way to stop it they will depip or safety, theyll get ######### bps too. This is why you see a lot of "bullying." The survivors get a comfortable lead and think "######### i need chase time with the killer" or "i have nothing in altruism" so they go looking to pick a fight for those bps.

Ok started tracking stats on my games, looking to see if I am being unreasonable on my anger as a killer. This is 8 games, but they're par for the course of what I normally get and I will keep tracking.
I hover in the rank 6 to rank 7 for this test. 9 out of 32 survivors i faced were in purple or green, so 73% of the survivors are a full ranking tier above me. 13 survivors were rank 1 or 2, having me face the highest ranked players 40% of the time.
I got 22 kills out of 32 survivors, making my kill rate 69%. Sounds good right? I depipped or got brutal 5 out of 8 games, which means 63% of the time I got a draw or loss.
There lies the biggest frustration for me. The majority of the time, I am playing significantly higher ranked players, averaging 3 kills per match, and the majority of the time, I don't get rewarded.
Ds was used by 45% of survivors. Adrenaline was used 43%. Spine chill 34%. Dead hard 25%.
Overall, my anger isn't justified. The average rank is 3.7 to my average rank of 6.9. Meta perks are used less than half of the time, but the numbers might be skewed by the tomes. Hands down the biggest frustration is not ranking up, even though I am performing and facing survivors at a level higher than my ranking.
The issue isnt kills, its hooks and/or hits. What killer do you main?
"Lore" wise, the entity wants you to make the survivors suffer before sacrificing them. This is why a face camping noed running bubba wont pip beyond a certain point even if they 4k every game. Gameplay wise the devs dont want you ending things to quickly to give survivors a chance to have fun and earn bps too. So if everyones dying on first hook, or youre using a killer that doesnt require you to get a lot of hits that can hurt your pip progress.
Ill give you an example, few weeks ago i was playing myers, i popped t3 about 1 minute into the match and had everyone slugged 15 secs later. The match was over. So i hooked 2 of them and let one wiggle free snd hooked the other then walked away for about 20 seconds to let them do their thing. I ended up double pipping that game and had the 4k, had i just killed them in the beginning i would have been lucky to get brutal, probably would have depipped.
Pipping is way more about hooks than kills
-
Neas are #########, i think its because noob3 is a thing.
Spirit, whatever the counter to her is baffles me, but im getting better
-
Ive been keeping track of stastics over time and ive noticed that the higher tge rank the more likely they are to escape/get more blood points. Its still a small number right now but if that trend continues then rank absolutely means something.
