  • Punish camper killers when they have a survivor on a hook. some ideas when a killer is near by the hooked survivor:
    1. Reduce killer walking speed
    2. Reduce killer damage
    3. Reduce killer angle vision
    4. Reveal aura of camper killers for all remaning survivors
    5. Increase generator fixing speed for all survivors
    6. Reduce blood points for killer
    7. Deactivate perks to killers
    8. anythign else

when a killer is camping a hooked survivor makes the game almost unplayable

    9. Give survivors gun
    10. Allow survivors to
    perform T-bag mori on killer
    11. lag switch killer
    12. Hit killer with a bus
    13. Ban killer
    14. DDOS killer
    15. Have killer shamed on forums
    16. Allow Survivors to taze killer
    17. Give killer a permanent blinded status effect
    18. Erase killer’s game progress
    19. Revoke killer’s ability to win
    20. Allow survivors to teleport and exit hatch
    21. Notify killer that he picked the wrong house fool.

im sorry but this is ridiculous. No to everything.
  • To be honest, I just wanna see through the damn grass in my face.
  • Oinkers only killer here. I disagree with crouch speed increase, it would be used to easily catch survivors during chases. You can do that right now; but only if you time it properly. Plus I don’t want to move too quickly or I will be too noticeable.

RBT needs to be infinite but only be able to have one in use at a time, I made a post on this myself.

I personally agree with 0% first box activation.

Funny enough I'm often mistakened as a Claudette, especially with prestiged clothing. I had a Meg following me around for what had to have been 10 seconds before I realized it.  She mistakened the red coat for a Claudette, poor guy DC’d and flopped dead via cardiac arrest on the floor in front of me immediately upon me turning around to reveal a pig head.
  • was playing hillbilly on the Thompson house and i was looped literally all game. never even had a chance to chainsaw. gens got done so fast.(because i cant get ruin in my bloodweb) after 4-5 mins of being looped by different people, because people always say just change targets. well that doesnt work. so after all of that pallet looping and window looping. i finally get somebody when the gates are powered. and guess what. there were still 4 pallets left in the area. like right next to eachother. what is this bs. how is this even fair. i have 700 hours and i am nowhere near a bad killer yet i can literally not do anything to catch survivors that know how to run in circles and do generators. something needs to be done about the amount of pallets on some of these maps. its not even fair. lets not even mention that this is supposed to be asymetrical. im ranting and very salty im aware. anybody that has played killer for a while can probably understand how much bs this is

Unfortunately pig’s ambush attack is the only counter to these issues. Something needs to be done indeed.
  • You try having 5 games 2 people left gates open and they just stand at the gate tea bagging you to troll
They’re not trolling, it’s a gg T-bag, they let you hit them so you get some blood points. If they run through the gate and not allow you a hit then they’re just a bunch of wussies.
  • Back in my day you played the game to GIT GUD. Or if you were rich you would buy a Nintendo Power magazine...kids these days.

Oh I’m not bad at all, rank 1 killer, but I pity those that get frustrated with the game. It’s not fun to think someone isn’t enjoying the game while you are.
  • tekdave said:

Basically just understand the killers are always going to cry to devs, they are always going to face camp, area camp and tunnel. They simply aren't good enough to play the game any other way.

Even though 99% of crying is done by survivors but whatever you say.
  • Don’t want someone being camped? Swarm the hook and protect the survivor Until they are free.  Here, I consulted the doctor and he emailed me your prescription.

Oh but stalking is ok if I’m Myers?
  • CoolAKn said:

Unless you can hack Discord or Skype, there's no way to eavesdrop on SWF groups.

MW2 forced users on Xbox into game chat if they tried to matchmake while in party chat. It’s definitely possible but I can only imagine this working on console.
  • First off, Sony would nix the idea.

Second off, the number of "Nerf Nurse" threads would skyrocket as the poor console users finally get to learn what it is to face a nurse controlled by mouse and keyboard.

I'm gonna give this a no at this time.

Mouse and keyboard is superior for shooters, but for nurse all of us already play at the wickedly insane 100 sensitivity. Pretty much the same thing. She doesn’t need to throw anything so all good on that front.

Thats just my humble opinion though, doc.
  • Lmao just kick the savior in the face and down him instantly for trying to save you at the worst time.
  • Hopefully they don’t have to nerf killers in order for this change to be fair. (Sarcasm)
  • An updated tutorial honestly wouldn't change much. Many gamers outright ignore tutorials or guides.

And as was pointed out, they definitely aren't the cause as they were added with 2.0.0, meaning officially in June on PC and even later on console. The game has had balance problems ever since early 2017 or even late 2016, depending on the POV.

I agree doc, what I’m trying to say is if the game told you how to evade the killer more effectively, or how to chase survivors more effectively, they wouldn’t be so frustrated while learning the game.
  • If someone T-bags me, I just tunnel them and when I down them, T-bag them right back because I play pig and can do that. All the while his friends look on in horror as they can’t do anything to stop me.
  • Esheon said:
I don't really understand this recent "blame the tutorial" trend. A tutorial should just give you the basics and let you figure out the rest on your own. That's what this tutorial does.

As for blaming the tutorial for "Balance Complaints", the tutorial was added to the game in May of this year. Before that, there was no tutorial at all. I'm fairly certain we had balance complaints prior to May 2018.

Tens of thousands of players learned every aspect of this game without a tutorial. Read the descriptions of the perks, items, and add-ons. It's all there.
I’m new and didn’t know it was added recently. I’m mainly talking about us console players.

On Xbox it’s a 50/50 mix of people who know their stuff when it comes to learning games and what to expect with their tech, like FOV sliders, difficulty settings, METAs and what not, and then you’ve got the normies. People who play for fun and causally, to the point where they don’t even know that most games allow you to turn the music volume off in the options menu.
  • we have that. It’s called survivor pudding and escape cake. only costs 4,000 BP. You can die in a match as survivor and still afford it.

Wow you’re quite the condescending one huh? Obviously tweaks will need to be made but that doesn’t mean the idea can’t work. I never said anything about impacting gen progression, just regression. The skill checks can reverse the regression effect by 10% each time they get a great skill check.

and trust me you don’t have to tell me what I did and didn’t put in my post. Trust me I know already.

If regression wont be faster they could always just cause 5% instantaneous regression upon damage that doesn’t stack.

I'm not trying to be condescending at all, merely pointing out what you said and didn't say. Now as far as impacting gen progression that does in a sense impact it. The great skill check idea is an interesting twist on your original idea.

The issue with getting huge regression is once again high mobility killers will just spam going back and forth and killer that're doing well Hag. Will simply get dropped back into the scrap heap along with Freddy since they've got no mobility to contend with.

As someone else pointed out there's already 2 perks that hinder gen progression on top of the normal damage gen move. If you add even more gen regression you'll make it so it turns into a 3 gen standoff type thing but with 5 gens.

That’s true, well apologies for the misconception. Either way I just hope the devs go through with adding more objectives for survivors to keep them occupied for longer.

And trust me buddy, gen regression won’t worsen gen rushing. Theres nothing that can be done to lessen gen rush currently.

Dude did you even read the post? THEM TAPPING GENS IS GOOD FOR KILLERS it makes regression faster and faster and faster. It’ll get to the point where the killer can stand next to it for 10 seconds and the progress bar will be all the way down to 50% from 99%.

They can bring whatever they want it doesn’t matter I run FD at all times. They won’t have anything if I whack em’.

What you think they will will refrain from gen rushing to go easy on us? These are survivor mains we are talking about here buddy. The dip-dip-potatochip disciples. Trust me, no survivor on this god green earth won’t gen rush out of sympathy for the killer.

Who says they won't have survival perks, that's just wishful thinking for arguments sake. You swap out 1 perk or go with Leader aka Dwight etc. You didn't read apparently since you can tap it it better by just hitting the gen and doing it for 5 seconds.

What you really want is a free Ruin that lasts, not something to help with en rushing. Well just to be clear the devs have stated they're not doing something like this. Since with your suggestion it'll be all Billy's Nurses more than before since high mobility means run around and do nothing but smack gens.

Why bother going after a survivor when you can just drag the game out forever by doing nothing but gen smashing. If you'd bother to read the forums suggestions like this have come up repeated and been shot down repeatedly .Most often with sound reasoning for the good ones.

Oh and nowhere in your post did you say tapping would make the progression go faster negatively.

    @DarkWo1f997 said:
seriously it feels futile to damage generators that are being gen tapped repeatedly. Why not just make the regression 5% faster each time it is damaged so that survivors have to actually be strategic about it?

  • Being a 100% killer only player. I disagree. Sloppy butcher exists for a reason, if anything it makes it easier for me.
  • A perk that does this up to a certain percentage (let's say 30%) would be pretty well balanced. Personally, I like Huntress' Lullaby with Overcharge and Ruin, but that is overkill most of the time and takes 3 slots.
Or make it a core mechanic since damaging gens is pointless when survivors need to push and release a button without animation while we pause for 1.5 seconds just to kick the thing and start what has to be the slowest regression mechanic in a video game ever?

  • The real question is, why doesn’t it insta-down the savior and instantly unhook the survivor if hit during the save attempt so the killer has a new hook buddy and the other can get away?
  • Two killers not being able to team up kinda would take the fun out of kill with friends. The whole point of 2 killers would be to do cool cheese strats on the survivors not just be like oh yah your survivors are over here have fun. I would rather have like a kill with friends where there is one killer and one survivor who is a traitor. The traitor wants to help the killer kill the other survivors and escape to boot. It would make for a pretty cool system imo. It would have to have swf disabled for the mode to work though.

Edit: I think I misread the post. You mean swf would only be able to play against two killers. My bad.

    Yes. And All good.

Blood and scratches are there if you don't hear the survivor you know in what direction he went

And how exactly are you supposed to hear the entity’s whisper, or survivor heartbeat if you can’t hear?
  • I don't get it how cross-platforming works. Consoles can connect to the internet, so it would just have to connect to the server of a game? I can't see the point where Sony can prevent this.

If they will ever add this feature they should make it optional so you can deactivate cross-platforming.
And why would console players get absolutely destroyed? As far as i know all jukes are possible with a controller too and also this would probably mean no one would play dbd on pc with controller?

Because consoles use their very own first party server software. It’s not
like PC where the servers are provided by only developers. This way, Xbox especially, can enforce the code of conduct and punish toxic players by enabling the direct reporting of harmful messages and other communication that is much more easily tracked than on PC. Microsoft handles the enforcement, and the developers handle the game. It’s one of the perks of making a game for console. Community behavior is not your problem.

So how does this effect cross platform play? Simple, the Microsoft and Sony servers work very, very differently from one another and are made by design to avoid joining servers that are not registered under or approved by or for Microsoft or Sony. They restrict their respective consoles to their domain and no one else’s.
  • I feel like people who could actually hear could abuse this system. Tbh most games are hard to play without sound.

Like I said, the game volume would be disabled when deaf aid is enabled. You can either have the sound queues or the visual ones, you cannot have both.
  • Honestly I think a game mode with 2 killers would be sick. SWF vs KWF is an idea I'm on board with. We could finally get that Michael and Freddy crossover horror fans have been wanting forever lol

As long as each killer can only hurt and interact with two survivors so they each have their own two dedicated targets to prevent coop tunneling. Survivors cannot see the killer that is not assigned to their two man group, and the killers cannot see survivors that are not their targets. Remaining two targets will each have 1 killer assigned to them.

killers will know which survivors are their targets by the obsession icon being around each player’s icon, the obsession icon will either be orange, to signify your targets, or green, to signify your friend’s targets.

Survivors can hear the entity’s whisper when the killer they are not being targeted by is near, to warn their teammates not to enter the area. Survivors being targeted by the same killer, can see each other’s auras at all times, but not the other two’s.

However, killers can see eachother’s auras at all times and coordinate patrol routes, scratch marks for survivors who are your coop partner’s targets will appear green,  but you will not be able to see their player models. You can still hear them and see their scratch marks.

Killers this way can call out the general area of a survivor without knowing their exact location, survivors can also mislead killers by running in one direction, and using the second killer’s inability to spot them as an advantage and crouch in the other direction. Baiting a false trail.

Totems that are inactive will progressively remove the killers’ coop abilities. Orange totems will signify that they will impact your killer, while green totems will signify the other killer.  Destroying these totems will one by one disable the ability for killers to see coop partner target scratch marks, and eachother’s auras. Destroying each totem will decrease the effectiveness of coop abilities for the corresponding killer, destroying all totems will remove coop abilities entirely. However, upon this occurring, survivors will lose the ability to see eachother’s auras altogether. And will now leave much more easily traced scratchmarks for their assigned killer to better follow.

Every licensed survivor and killer has had perks that line up with their movie series and they make sense with their characters

Oh really? You do know that Franklin's Demise was based on this scene, right: image

Leatherface chainsaw's Franklin, causing him to drop his flashlight as he dies (see: the perk icon and name). This perk was specifically nerfed post-release to not allow it to activate on chainsaw hits. Why you would drop a flashlight from a hammer hit as opposed to being eviscerated by a chainsaw, I have no idea.

If you want to complain about lack of faithfulness to source material then let's start with all the killer nerfs that survivors were mum about, k (looking at you, Freddy)?

Yeah. Survivors only complain because being on the hook and pressing a button to struggle seems very, very boring. Sure it’s your fault for getting caught but there’s going to be a lot of times where you just get unlucky, or a teammate makes a very questionably unsafe save. As a killer one trick I can only be perceptive about this. But yet again the stress of playing killer isn’t exactly 100% enjoyable either.

Sure you get used to it after a while but it still feels a little weird that you can feel really powerless quite often in a lot of situations. This is probably due to the killer not really having any options for countering loops in ways that compliment the flow of gameplay, it’s just Benny hill music and two idiots running around a pallet like they are childhood friends.

Pig seems to be the only one besides huntress and hag (I could be wrong please don’t kill me) who can actively shut down loops. Pig’s ambush ability I’ve found is really good for countering shack loopers. So much so that I’m actually comfortable now following a survivor to a killer shack.

But I digress, while I personally have learned to deal with the hardships of the killer and learn to bait and exploit altruism, it’s the killer’s very low population that’s concerning to me. I’m not sure if this game is dying or coming back to life or just staying somewhere in the middle.

I’ve only been playing since mid-August so there’s a lot I’m unsure of regarding the player base. Survivors seem to be the unhappy type though. In a way I understand, I’ve played survivor about 20 times now and realized that it’s really frustrating and demoralizing when you’re unhooked and a killer prioritizes you because he was nearby and you are the easy hit.

On the other hand, as a killer, you feel immense pressure to make sure you down that survivor because you have to do what you can to throw a wrench in their game plan. Well that’s just me, if I have 4 gens left I always chase the savior and give that other survivor a chance to recover. If I’m on one gen though, I’ll simply down and re-hook that survivor who was saved if I’m able to intercept them.

Thats kind of the problem, everything is on a by-occurrence bases and not a consistent one.  This is the down side of a very simple premise in a game, people figure out ways to play in a way that provides an advantage that isn’t meant to be when the game is played by the book by both sides. Maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about because like I said I’m still new to the game.  I am currently a rank 1 so I have seen the low and high level play difference and they do indeed feel like two completely different games.

At first I agreed with a lot of the loop changes and what not but now I’m starting to wonder if at that time I just wasn’t as experienced and maybe the game is more balanced than I thought. Truly puzzling for me.

So what’s you’re point here? You’re responding to a question about accuracy, but you’re talking about how both sides have points where it sucks to play them. So, what’s your agreement? Not once did the person you’re resoponding to mention the looping meta. Not to say you points aren’t valid, they just seem like they don’t belong here; or that they’re misplaced.
Well I hadn’t had slept for 24 hours when writing that so I’m sure that played a very large factor in trailing off. What I was originally trying to get at before my auto pilot rant took over was if it’s accuracy you want, a game where a hammer strike to the shoulder blade causing several pints of blood to be lost in a matter of minutes, and a boogeyman tentacle monster that sounds like an orca with the ability to make people immortal and create its own realm, is probably being used to throw any and all accuracy out the window in favor of “Balance.” I put ‘balance’ in quotation marks to imply that I am
not 100% in agreement with the way it’s handled but I digress.

I do not have the cannibal, and didn’t know that Franklin’s Demise was completely ignored when using the saw. I’m not sure why that is, so I see where you are coming from, but I don’t really think the developers will change their mind on that.

I've not seen any reports that the RBT's are bugged - do you have video evidence of this that you can show me?

The RBT's will not activate if they are put on after the activation point (the pillars in the exit area), or if the killer puts the trap on earlier and then carries them passed the activation area - these are the only times that a survivor can leave through the exit gates with a RBT on their heads. This is by design and is not a bug.

Unfortunately I have lost the footage. Under XB1 big reports though there is a user who reported survivors escaping on foot through exits with the bear trap on. Sorry I lost it.

Alright then, well if that’s the case, the only bugs I’ve experienced, were traps not able to be placed despite having 4, and a survivor leaving with the trap still on his head, but that player told me that he didn’t have one on.

And for clarification, regarding what I said about being able to crawl out, I meant if they can already escape in a dying state, I feel that the bear trap should prevent that even if placed at gates, especially because pig has to wait and wipe the blood off the weapon before having control again.

I believe I have footage of that survivor leaving through the exit with the trap on. It was placed mid match and the timer wasn’t starting. Like I said he messaged me and said the trap wasn’t showing up for him, which means he saw the icon on his survivor status in the lower left corner of the screen, but it seemed to delete itself.  It’ll take some time for me to sort through my footage. But if I haven’t deleted it then I will upload the link in this thread.

Either way its unfortunate that pig cannot utilize the reverse beartrap in this manner. Poor thing can’t even restock them.

And dont get me wrong, so far I am loving your game. I just want to contribute to improvement through feedback. It’s been a long time since I’ve fallen in love with a game as much as I have with Dead by Daylight.
  • I like that map when I'm a survivor and usually as a killer, but if I happen to be playing the Nurse - I'll admit, I sometimes just disconnect - especially if I've already had a few rough games.

Really? I thought the nurse thrived on that map.
  • How do you drop a carried survivor on PS4?

    Circle. B for Xbox users.
  • If im carrying to the hook with a congo line going on, I usually drop whoever i'm holding and start whacking people. Its annoying and sometimes it screws me over but it is what it is and its viable for them.

Just move towards and back from survivors coming to save them so you stay on your victim. Wack em’ when you can, but don’t chase too far, you’ll end up feeling like a lion defending its kill from hyenas as they heal them a little then run away, looking for opportunities to fill the meter even just a smidge. it’s honestly one of the most enjoyable experiences as killer.

    Its also very amusing.
  • Orrrr they could experience the “Exposed” status effect. That would get them to run!

I hate how the survivors have ways to counter the killer.. they should all be downed with one hit every time that would stop them doing it

That’s no fun. I’d kill the survivors too quickly. And I do so love to play with my prey.

I agree to an extent, but disagree on others. Lery's is the tiniest map in the game, and it's very difficult to find generators without aura reading, but that's about it.

If they ever release a new licensed map for Haddonfield, they should make one for the hospital in Halloween II where it would be a hospital map, but larger.

Well you also have to remember that the trade off is better hiding potential, worse gen tracking ability. You’ve also got to remember that the gens spawn in the same spots every time. You just have to figure out where you are. Once you go into the center of the map with the monitors, you can orient yourself nd plan accordingly.

I agree with the hospital idea. Surprised they didn’t make one for the nurse actually now that I think about it.
  • A survivor hit by a killer with a struggling survivor should be instantly downed. That would solve the issue immediately

She’s the only killer that can’t replenish equipment.

    Myers

Yes she is. I’m aware that she cannot replenish equipment. Myers doesn’t have equipment. He stands there and breathes heavily until he’s ready to go into a full on sprint.

    Worst argument.

Are you serious? No I’m not! I want survivors who are trying to run through the exit, or escaping through hatch, to die like they are supposed to if they have a trap on their head. That’s what is supposed to happen!

I did a little research on the crawl escapes, did they crawl through the exits or did you RBT them inside the gates. Supposedly if you RBT them there they can crawl out otherwise they will die normally.

I downed them and they can literally crawl out. Even if I put a trap on their head at the exit. It should kill them. Pig can only use 4 traps and literally that’s the worst design decision they could have possibly made for her. She’s the only killer that can’t replenish equipment. Those traps need to have serious impact if I can only use 4.

You getting out with a trap on is not FAIR. Pig gameplay is 90% Tunneling? You must be a rank 20. Tunneling doesn’t exist. If you can’t lose the killer, that is your fault, if you are wounded and are prioritized as the easiest target, that’s your fault, literally bypassing an ability that the pig has is the stupidest argument. You are clearly biased and shouldn’t be on the balance feedback forum.
  • Woah woah woah. No no no. I’m not sharing kills with ANYONE. Require the number of gens to complete to be raised to 8. So they have to do every single gen on the map.

Escaping through the Exit Gates is supposed to kill the survivors wearing them. If they don't it's clearly a bug.

I agree that the Pig should be able to replenish her stock of RBT. This would also make her own unique perk Hangman's Trick more useful to her (by reducing the time for a new RBT to spawn), not just primarily benefit the Trapper.

But seriously. That’s a good idea. I agree and hope this is fixed soon. Can’t wait to watch the next guy that tries to leave. :)
