I sometimes forget about that Enduring "rework" and realise the devs would have never heard complaints about DS again if they just didn't make that change.

Enduring went from a pretty decent perk to run as 1 of 4. Now its exclusively good with Spirit Fury. Which is weird as they said they want perks to be less dependant on one another.

Huh? Enduring is great as a standalone perk too. I use it quite a bit on weaker killers who are going to be forced to eat pallets. It's pretty nice to swing through every pallet and be rewarded sometimes.

But I usually do enduring / bamboozle over enduring / spirit fury unless i'm going to a specific map where I know there are no problematic windows.

  • Pig. She is like Myers in that she can bring Mori's into the game without anyone knowing.

She is also disgustingly good at tunneling, and can teabag.

  • I support the hatch, given that many games in DBD are going to be out of your control as survivor if you play solo que.

But at the same time, it is very annoying to be BM'd by someone getting the hatch, which is an RNG escape, when there are like 4-5 generators left. The team accomplished nothing, the last survivor gets a free escape and then is proud of it. You can sit in a locker all game doing nothing and still "win" as survivor.

I rotate between slugging for the 4k with whispers, and just playing the RNG game because of it. I have no problem with people just taking it and leaving. But I do feel the need to slug for a while if there are multiple people in a row who are going to sit around and waste my time because they feel the need that I need to witness their pity escape.

Let's just add more then - can't take pop, bbq/thrilling, or brut for your build. So can't find survivors, can't stop gen speed, can't damage gen's quickly, can't break pallets quickly. Just to barely move faster - when you could just use Bloodlust instead.

I don't need to use 3 perks to know the build is garbage, and you're the one who has no idea what they are talking about. Get lost. Go watch another Tru3 video

(if you didn't know he was the one who made the whole Nemisis/PWYF combo popular, but stopped using it because he learned it doesn't work as well as he thought. Youtubers like to keep making videos with it though, because it looks cool. You seriously already dug yourself a hole you can't get out of).

And the same time, responding to you, and first hand getting to deal with that entitlement and lack of knowledge I had talked about previous - again - first hand. Just made me, and from what I can see many other Killers just want to play the game less. So thank-you for making yourself an example.

You are the one changing the subject after I proved you wrong. You are the one forming opinions on builds you have literally never tried then arguing about them like you have.

I used PWYF like 3 years ago, because I know being a 130% movespeed killer is incredibly strong. It's the only anti-loop you need, it just takes too long to build on anyone without a 1 shot. You don't need it with Enduring whatsoever.

When I saw Nemesis, that combo is the first thing I thought of. It's the first thing I thought of when I saw Furtive Chase too, but Furtive Chase is trash. I don't need to be spoonfed obvious ideas. Maybe you do.

I literally provided the links in my post. PWYF is only 5% at full stacks. It goes from 3%/4%/5%.

5% is only +0.2 on base Killers.

Bloodlust doesn't go up in percents. Period. It's +0.2/+0.4/+0.6.

Meaning max PWYF is only 1 phase of Bloodlust. If you get a 45 second chase. Then you are moving triple the speed you could get from PWYF.

Dude you are embaressing yourself at this point.

You have never used the perk. That is very clear.

"Every time you chase your Obsession and let them escape, you receive a Token up to a maximum of 3 Tokens.

Each Token increases your Movement speed by 3/4/5 %."

Hmmm, what's three tokens times 5%? You have no idea what you are talking about.

    🙄Play With Your Food . Bloodlust .

If you are using - Trapper. Then full stacks of Play With Your Food is +0.2 movement speed. Blood lust is 3 stacks, each 0.2.

Play with your food at full stacks is 1 stack of Bloodlust. Sure you get slightly faster with a faster killer than Trapper, but still 2nd level bloodlust tops anything PWYF can give any Killer. And it's also a very minor difference between a fast Killer and Bloodlust.

It's much more effective to drop PWYF, Nemesis, and Eduring for 3 perks that you REQUIRE to face competent survivors. If you are good at Killer then you don't need enduring. You can force pallet drops. You know the loops. You know the map layout. You know which way to push Survivors. You don't need 3 perks for a 5% movement speed buff - that you only need for like 3-4 maps, when you can just use 1 stack of bloodlust.

To be fair. I could of gone, without correcting you, and everyone with half a brain knows you shouldn't have to use 3 perks just for a slight movment speed buff.

Spoken like someone who has literally never used the perk.

    https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Bloodlust

Here's the numbers straight from the wiki. A 115 Killer movespeed is 4.6, so with bloodlust 3 you get to 5.2.

5.2 / 4.6 = 1.13 or a 13% increase so it's actually LESS than play with your food, which is 15% at full stacks. I assumed it was 5% per stack since that's what I heard at some point and that's what it felt like ingame anyways.

Bloodlust is needed for specific maps because the loops are too close together, and have too many long loops. It's 5% per stack, not just 5% like you get from PWYF. Keeping track of survivors is easy, you don't need Nemesis.

You're literally suggesting 3 perks just to increase your movement speed a little bit (1 stack of bloodlust) - I shouldn't have to put so much effort into explaining why this build is actually garbage. Stop using youtube to think it's how you play Killer effectively. When playing Killer you require; At least 1 regression perk, at least 1 information perk, at leasat 1 perk that synergizes with your perks or killer/power, free slot.

Like jeez, here we go again 🙄

I don't get your point. Bloodlust is 5% per stack, up to 3 stacks. PWYF is 5% per stack, up to 3 stacks. You don't use Nemesis for tracking, you use it to get an obsession quickly so you can build stacks immediately.

Bloodlusting is always a terrible strategy. You will use 45 seconds for a single M1. PWYF is the same 45 seconds and you keep the stacks after, especially on an instadown killer. The fact you don't know all this makes me question if you really are rank 1, especially if you claim to be using it regularly.

Bro. I'm a rank 1 killer that curb stomps pub's that don't understand the game. I don't need to use perks to teach me the game anymore, I run what I need to balance the game against competent survivors. Likewise. I literally run meme perks on my Solo Survivor because I know enough of the map layouts to be immune from getting downed anyways - even when I end up in games of what this community considers our "top players" on stream. I run meta perks on my survivor when I play with certain players when they need me to, and I play with no perks when in a SWF.

This is the problem, when someone experienced at the game see's something unbalanced with the game. They are dismissed because the majority of survivors were all brought up on this game being easy. They never learned how to be good at survivor, so they assume Killer's are balanced because they never have to put in the effort to learn the counters, actual map layout, spawns, or other basic details. Then when they start facing stronger killers back to back it's suddenly "Freddy, Nurse, Spirit" OP - when that survivor doesn't realize those Killers are only playing those three Killer's because it's the only way to even meet par against a team of competent players.

You named off perks that are completely unreliable against competent survivors. Nemesis, and PWYF. You can't risk taking a stun just to see the Survivor - you are better off running I'm All Ears at that point, but the CD isn't reliable on that either. PWYF is unreliable because against a team of competent survivors - you can't give a survivor a chance to escape most times. That loses you so much time. When you only got 2 mistakes tops before you lose. You're entirely better off running a different perk than PWYF. By the way a 5% movement speed increase isn't that special (and NOED is a joke).

Don't run Spirit Fury. Brutal Strength is better all around. If you're good at reading loops, you don't need Enduring you can force survivors to drop pallets. You're good everywhere else with what you've said. Be careful relying on Tinkerer's 75% though. Competent survivors cover a quareter of gens in no time.

I almost don't believe a rank 1 killer is in here complaining about bloodlust being removed. When do you ever need it?

Nemesis + PWYF isn't reliable? You eat a stun, and 45 seconds later you are a 130% movespeed killer. If you can't keep track of the survivors I don't know what to tell you.

And you don't need enduring against good survivors? The loops will be run so tight your only choice is to eat pallets half of the time. Unless you want to respect, and let them get extra loops on you. It's a feel good perk and not super powerful without spirit fury on top of it, but I eat pallets all the time as killer because I don't want to waste time respecting. I only respect if they are making clear indicators they are going to drop the pallet.

And you just said "5% movespeed isn't that special" but here you are with a thread complaining about bloodlust. You know, a 5% movespeed increase per stack.

And that's why tinkerer is run with discordance. You can make it to most tinkerer procs if it's a solo player but if it's a discordance tinkerer you know not to waste your time going over to it unless you are really close; you would have had to respond to the discordance earlier.

Being accused of camping only happens when I needed to or I actually did it because toxicity and its NEVER that common

There is no reason to complain about camping or tunneling in DBD.

Survivors complaining about killers doing their objective is like a killer complaining about survivors doing generators.

I just had a game where I had a nancy teabagging and flashlighting me at every pallet. I downed her, camped her to half, then tunneled her straight off the hook into dead.

She was gone by the time the game was over(I checked to see if she still had a ping), and the other survivors complained to me about it. "Is it Brooklyn or Manhatten that has the biggest tunnel?" I said nothing, left the lobby, and one of them just gave me a new -rep for it. Not that I care, but still. That's how petty the game is.

I still play Survivor 😂, it's stress free and easy. Also friends with certain people that I stick around in the game for, but for confidentiality sake - I'm not naming them.

@Orion Another prime example of the dismissive comments. "Dont' bother playing" - the whole "Take a break", "Play something else", "No one's making you play". Instead of fixing the issues with Killer. They are expected to just leave the game and come back fresh to work again later.

Any killer can become practically unloopable with Nemesis+PWYF, or Spirit Fury/Enduring/Bamboozle/Brutal etc. It's only a matter of do you need those perks, or can you stack slowdown / information perks instead.

I used enduring / bamboozle on blight for weeks until I felt confident enough with his power to switch them out for tinkerer and discordance. Sometimes I still can't land good hits at jungle gyms or the shack, but tinkerer / discordance / blight's mobility give me plenty of opportunities to ditch a losing chase and find someone out of position instead.

There's no reason to commit to any chase on a high mobility killer. And if you don't feel confident with a low mobility killers power in chases you should use chase perks until you do.

Ok you rekt yourself. You get bad messages because you invoke them

No not really. I usually don't say anything in the endgame chat. The same people who cry on my profile are the same people using all the survivor meta perks, key swapping at 6 seconds, offering haddonfield/ormond, teabagging with object, and having profiles where they say like "leave salt LOL" or something similar.

Playing killer to win is enough to get boatloads of hate mail. And like I said, even if you play by the survivor rulebook, people will still find something to complain about. So I usually don't bother unless I am going out of my way to farm BP.

I never complain when I lose a game of DBD, most of the time I don't even stay to the endgame screen if I died as survivor. Which is why it's funny to me that so many people do. People will sit there and wait like 6-7 minutes until a game is over to spew some salt when they could have played an entire other match by that point.

  • It's honestly normal. If you win in this game as killer, survivors are going to complain. It doesn't matter how you do it. You can play nice, you can play mean, the salt will flow if you win. You will be insulted if you lose. You can turn off the endgame chat or steam comments but I leave them.

    Spooky.PNG

I get a TON of camping / tunneling complaints when I am playing pretty nice. If I hook someone, go across the map, hook someone else, then come back and hook you again, it's not tunneling sorry. Only like half of them are legitimate.

The other half of the comments that people post are just total lies.

"Whines about keys" when I just tunneled out the key user and slugged the rest after they swapped to it at 6 seconds and never said anything in that endgame chat.

"Enjoy depip" when the guy rage DC'd and I got Ruthless killer.

"BMs all game and camps for no reason" His SWF sent me to haddo, I am gonna BM and camp the heck out of anyone I get.

"-rep camp" when I am playing Hag and got 2 people in the basement early. I guess I should just walk across the map, let all my traps get triggered, and then let them unhook and reset for free.

And that's just this week. I recently had someone spew like 10 lines of salty comments because they exploited by sitting under the hook (so you can't pick them up) and then my response was to just facecamp the hooked person and them at the same time. They spoonfed me a win then cried about it.

I have had people say I am using Instadown / Exhaust add-ons on clown (why would you ever run those together) when I had 6 bottles of bleach that game, etc etc.

  • This is the most boosted thing I have read in a while. No good killer relied on bloodlust anyways. If you needed to get to bloodlust 2-3 to get a hit, the chase was going on too long and you probably should have been considering abandoning it.

I am looking forward for it getting disabled because getting bloodlusted down instead of outskilled was always annoying.

  • I mainly have trouble getting through doorways on him, it's really hard to land directly on the side of a doorway to get in through it.

As far as moving around the map, you really want to hit the corner of objects instead of hitting them directly. The bounce will push you clear of whatever you hit the corner of and let you continue the rush chain.

Also blight with a controller sounds terrible. I feel like one of his best moves is just running straight past a survivor, slamming into an object next to them, and then doing a 180 into a lethal rush. I think that would be very hard to achieve on a controller.

  • @pseudechis said:

From the description you've given, you had a team that played poorly and your response was to tell the killer they played to hard and should have adjusted their game to suit the poor play choices of the survivor team.

I can kind of see why they spat that back at you.

Why didn't you tell your team to make better choices?

For the same reason when a survivor DCs at 5 gens, and the killer kills everyone left, the survivors rage at the killer and not the guy who DC'd.

  • He's trash against SWF, but then again he's pretty trash in general so there is that. Ruin/Undying was a big nerf to him since now tons of red/purple lobbies have rainbow maps in them.

I don't see too much reason to play him over hag unless you are using some really good add-ons, and even then you could just be playing hag with really good add-ons instead.

I mainly use him to camp the basement since that's his greatest strength.

You realise that even if someone was to pip up, they could just create a new account and repeat the smurfing right? I could go do it on PS4 and Xbox in 10 seconds just by making a new email, and since my main profile owns the game, that new account gets free access to the game. I don't deny killer is tougher, but the fact is, when you see a blatant Rank 16 with all T3 perks usually including the Metas, alongside 3 red ranks with the same, it's not really difficult to work out whats happening. How many new players do you know that run metas or understand how the meta even works?

If they had friends to explain it to them? I could probably explain the meta to a new survivor player in like 2 minutes. "Run these 3 perks and here's why"

When I was learning killer I got crushed as billy for like 4-5 games, then googled who was the best killer, and moved over to learn the nurse instead. I was on the Nurse within ~2 hours of playing, and had plans to level the hag for (old) ruin within the same day of buying DBD.

I can't imagine anyone sane would want to go grind out new accounts and all the perks over and over. You would have to pay for Laurie each time. And still, losing and running the loops is how you learn. You learn all the strong loops by having people run you at them.

Theres a huge difference in being destroyed LEARNING, and being destroyed when they have ZERO chance to even learn anything.

Smurf squads won't teach a new player anything. They'd never catch them, they'd just be bullied to hell and back and that just demoralizes them. Imagine how someone who just installed the game and gets absolutly bulldozed over because of this feels? Would you want to continue after that? I wouldn't. I accept theres always learning in PvP games. Hell, I suck at CoD but I'm learning to get better, and that's because I don't get smurf squads constantly ######### me over.

I really feel like there are NOT that many "smurf SWF squads" because if they were ruining people as hard as you claim they would be ranking up naturally and would need to go on massive depip sprees throwing equally as many games as they were winning as well. It's incredibly easy to rank up as a survivor.

Killer is the harder role, requires more practice, requires more mechanical skill, and requires more intelligent decision making than survivor. Naturally you are going to lose; and often, until you get an idea of what you are doing. Killer is still easier than it has ever been in the history of DBD right now(unless you were a nurse main). You didn't see seasoned killers all going on 100-200+ winstreaks at a time until recently.

  • I don't. Everyone gets stomped learning a new PvP game that's been around a while, that's just how it is.

That's why I have never actually played Rainbow 6 Siege. Because by the time I looked at it and decided I might want to try it, I know by now I will just get smoked by people who know all the maps and I don't feel like investing the time to learn them.

And it's not like it's just killers. I sometimes get rank 15-20's tagging along as part of SWFs, or full lobbies of greens/purples when I am at rank 1.

There was a rank 15 Ash I had in my game the other day that didn't even know what to do when I jumped him as the pig, got 2 tapped, then he died to a double purple add-on head trap. I was thinking in-game "this Ash is really special" until I saw his rank at the endgame screen.

  • Ruin Undying Tinker Discordance Blight with Blighted Crow + Canker Thorn. The 4th and 5th rushes are just outrageously fast and it never gets old going to a tinkerer/discordance gen at light speed. The Canker Thorn makes getting around the map feel a lot smoother.

Someday I want to bump it up to Blighted Crow + Blighted Rat but it still feels a bit uncontrollable to me.

  • Ruin, Undying, Discordance, Sloppy Butcher

Dump sloppy for nurses if you have the mangled add-on, or maybe MYC with the wallhacks add-on

Although if I could only have one perk in the game entirely, it's discordance. Too useful to stop gen stacking in the early game, otherwise you lose gen #1 in the first 40~ seconds.

  • "One single unbreakable very rarely changes the outcome of the match when I see it."

    I stopped reading there

  • He is good, but pretty add-on hungry.

Playing bleach+ether clown is amazing though, he drops people quick with save the best for last. With those add-ons he feels similar to many other strong killers in that survivors basically have to feed you pallets because there is little to no looping him.

  • Spooky.PNG

This one is great, probably the most successful devour hope build I have run. You can usually open up with a discordance silent bell wallhacks gen grab into a MYC instadown for an easy 2 stacks. Then you got NOED in case devour hope dies and the build falls apart.

It is a problem because it gets harder and harder to make new perks that are actually decent that go in your favour. And the most important thing is that it gets harder to pull out balance changes to perks if we have over 200+ perks. Most of the current perks need buffs and changes to even give a normal game value and purpose.

That's not your problem though? That's a problem for the dev's. They have buffed quite a few perks to useable levels recently.

You don't need to be running a full meta build to win by any means. Especially not as a killer vs. a solo Q team, you can be running total meme builds and still be fine in most cases. As survivor you usually don't really need perks at all, assuming you are good at looping and make smart saves.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1754166#Comment_1754166

I'm not talking about making more perks meta and change the meta around. I'm talking about fixing the clutter, cause it's clearly not healthy for the game to have over 200+ perks in the future.

I don't see why it's a bad thing, other than it will be a pain to get the perks you want on a certain character. In theory the perks are only supposed to be accentuating your playstyle instead of defining it anyways.

It's just some of them have been created to address core gameplay problems (such as how easy it is to tunnel a survivor coming off the hook), and it's hard to get away using anything else if the opposing side is using the meta and is of your skill level.

    More choices is always good.

  • New perks keep it interesting, and it's not like there have been any real meta shaking things for a long time since undying. The survivor meta is exactly the same, BT/DS/Exhaustion Perk/Whatever.

  • A 3k or above. Unless you really care about pips. Then you could play slowdown legion, get a 0-1k every game, and still get to rank 1.

  • There already is in the form of ruin undying, assuming you can apply enough pressure to make it give you value. It is crippling to leave ruin up against a good killer.

If you don't like looping DBD killer is not for you, that's basically the whole game for the majority of the roster, and I find it to be the most enjoyable part of DBD in general.

  • @Kebek said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1753914#Comment_1753914

I mean if he's got problem with getting found early and doesn't want to be found first then it's the best thing to do for him. Let others who might feel more confident in their chases take the aggro. I never said it was good strategy (it isn't obvisouly) but it helps his case.

It also feels like you don't play solo much as that's exactly what 50% of survivros do casually without thinking about it. I've seen legions of slowly crouching around the map survivors while I'm looping the killer for several minutes. That's just solo experience, if they don't DC instantly they still aren't doing anything usefull, you get used to it after playing solo for a long time.

It didn't used to be that way. Red rank survivors were all pretty good a few years ago when it was only billy / nurse. You would start the game, hear the chainsaw, and sprint to the nearest gen to start working. You were either doing a gen, making a save, or being chased. And that was DBD.

Now? It's filled with immersive potatoes that I usually wish I was farming instead of playing with. The new killers and meta perks are strong enough the only answer is to genrush and even 1 immersed survivor urban evading around looting chests is enough to get everyone killed. That's probably why the red rank killer kill rates are sky high at the moment.

  • @Kebek said:

You should wait for "early game collapse" reworking DBD's early game then. That might change the pacing of matches so that you have more time to get ready insted of instantly rushing gens and same for killer.

Get ready for what, exactly? There is literally nothing to do in DBD besides gens, totems, chests, and kills/rescues. Your "getting ready" should be done at the loading screen.

If you made up your mind I'm not going to waste my time.

The last time I checked, purple chili + yellow chili was OVER a 32m dash in total. I got into make your choice range launching myself from a hook. That's more than enough to cover every single loop in DBD, only a super strong setup like jungle gym into shack or similar will make him loopable. I think double chili is overkill, which is why I like faster token recovery instead.

You can feed him pallets, that's it. Other than that its up to him being bad and crashing into a wall.

Leatherface can still be looped and corner-teched so your input obviously does matter.

You can't expect to win if you have no idea how the game works.

Almost 3 minute chase and 4 man escape SOLO QUEUE at red ranks:

    https://youtu.be/eDWYzM8KBcM

Corner-teching Leatherfaces even in the open field:

    https://youtu.be/xmvEIiYm47w

Leatherface is literally a killer that only catches you quickly if the Leatherface-player is better at the game than the survivor he faces.

If you go down quickly all the time it's a YOU problem. Leatherface is mechanically fair and balanced.

I'm sorry, that means nothing. A good leatherface is barely going to crash into things during the loops, and will be going around the loops fast enough they are going to notice you magically disappeared at the corner. I used to use the muffler but after some practice I can go around almost any loop in DBD without crashing.

Purple chili leatherface can go around almost every loop in the game I believe. The only counter is windows and you can bamboozle them.

This is like holding up someone doing a window tech (which literally never works on me) as a counter to a killer. All you can do is feed him pallets (and fast), and if you run out of pallets you are done.

I do purple chili + primer bulb and I think that's his best combo for general use.

  • It depends. If it's a stock leatherface without chili, then loop as usual.

If it's a bamboozle leatherface with purple chili? Throw every pallet early and hide while inside his terror radius. Pray your team is genrushing.

  • It's really, really hard to justify using anything but the meta perks. Obviously you can win with any perks, or no perks, but the level of stress is going to be so much higher.

Killers basically only have corrupt / pop or ruin / undying, and corrupt pop just got nerfed. It's sad because even multiple pops in a row still won't even get you as much regression as shoving people off the gens with ruin, and takes significantly more time because you have to go to a gen and kick it.

Sloppy thanta nurses was gutted recently. Some of the strongest killers can run whatever they want, but not having any real regression on a weaker killer means you are going to be in for some super sweaty games and more than likely need to rely on tunneling / camping / slugging which means getting punished by all the survivor meta perks.

It's not stereotyping lol if you've played this game long enough you know the best hiding gameplay is the one I just suggested.

Thing is once the killer does find you then your stealth is useless. You need to loop there's no way around it.

It's incredibly hard to stay hidden from the stealth killers, even with spine chill. Some of them get legit wallhacks on you. Doctor is a thing.

I use discordance/tinkerer religiously and I can say that it's pretty much impossible to hide from those perks if you want to do gens. Whispers is another one that renders stealth almost useless.

If you are playing someone like blight, billy, spirit, etc you can come barreling down onto a gen at speeds so fast there is literally no time to hide. Looping is a core mechanic and it's crazy people are on here arguing against it. Probably just people salty they got wrecked by a good survivor.

  • A player who is learning nurse or learning blight, or is just bad with them / doing a daily. Blight is probably more funny to see someone screwing up on since they will totally be missing everything.

Because the good players have respect for the roles. Good players know what a killer is capable of and don't bother forcing it with gestures. Bad players want to get under a killers skin and use their ds unbreakable combo and sometimes they get wins that way so they do it more.

That's about right, I don't teabag even if the killer is getting stomped on cause I don't want to be the guy getting facecamped at the end lol.

It's not about their feelings, but what people do when they realize they're playing against a novice.

I'm usually going hard at all times, because you never know if you got a lobby full of rank 1's, or a lobby with 1 rank 1 and their three rank 15 friends. I feel kinda bad when I see the ranks at the endgame screen but hey, not really my problem. I took my beatings learning the game a long time ago.

I can't think of a single time I decided to kick a pallet just because someone could reset.

I can, I had a Yui camp the shack pallet and drop it on my head the other day. But I had a discordance proc so immediately started moving over to that instead of kicking it. But then I was thinking "wait, it's a Yui" and went back really quick and sure enough she was about to reset it. So I kicked it and moved off.

I've heard information to the contrary. People were complaining that it being based off the highest survivor was disabled a while ago, lots of people talking about smurfs as well who are teaming with the lowest rank survivor and having them host to get into the lower ranks (Again I am not talking about the average of the survivors, I never mentioned that, what I'm talking about is matchmaking being based solely on the host of the group).

And the devs saying it worked a different way a while ago doesn't mean they didn't change it and just not talk about it.

I really think it is just a lack of seasoned killer players. I am back at rank 1 survivor right now and even in solo Q I will still get green ranked killers sometimes. Survivor Q times are up to 5-10 minutes during prime time, killer Qs are typically 2-3 seconds unless a new killer was recently released.

Playing survivor is a much easier and chill experience unless you are hitting a tryhard, and many people want to play with their friends. Killer you are sweating the majority of the time unless you are playing a broken killer or build. But that's a fair balance for wanting to play the power role. Much more difficult, but much more rewarding. You can't expect to 3-4k every match until you really know what you are doing. After that? DBD is your playground as a killer.

I can link you a guy who has only lost 1 game in the last 350+ games, and he plays almost every killer equally.

If you want to learn how to win, this is who you watch. That's how I got as good as I (think) I am.

Its not based off the lowest rank survivor, its based off who the host is of the group. If the host is a lower rank person it tends to match them with lower rank killers. I saw red ranks in so many games as a killer it was incredulous. It is possible there just weren't enough killers going around and they were forced to play against me(But that's even worse because that's a fault of the game's design, I mean in competitive games they don't put diamond ranks up against bronze ranks just because there aren't enough diamond players to go around).

That's incorrect. The devs made a post about how it worked some time back when it was changed, maybe a year ago? It used to be based off the average of the survivors in the group, which frequently led to the situations you are describing. Now they have stated it is based off the highest ranking survivor in the lobby, and that has been accurate in my experience.

You also have to realize that the ranks are reset every month, so you can still have players who were rank 1 falling down to green ranks if they have not played in a while. My survivor rank was 9 for a while even though I have hit rank 1 survivor countless times, just because I mostly play the killer these days.

Ranking up as a survivor is also significantly easier than killer, which is why I assume red rank killer kill rates are so high. Because it takes some work as a killer player get to red rank and stay there, but even average survivors should be able to get to red ranks easily if they play enough.

But on the subject of facecamping, it's only worth doing once all 5 gens are done, to secure your last kill. And even then I get greedy myself and probably just start slugging to try to get more. Or maybe to spite someone you really hate, but you are usually throwing the match to do it. If you haven't applied enough pressure throughout the game and the survivors still have DS's, you might not even get a 1k doing it unless you are a 1 shot killer.

  • @WestX said:

The only time I face camp is when I'm killer and I'm facing off against smurfs (Which when I first got to rank 15 happened for an entire day over the course of multiple hours every match was smurfs i.e. red ranks teaming with a lower rank to get into lower rank matchmaking)

I'm new to the game, I've had it for around 3 weeks. I don't have meta perks, so I have no way to combat the typical red rank strategy of using second chance perks and gen rushing. What I can do, and what is surprisingly effective, is face camp. I'll atleast get 1 kill, and I usually get a second kill due to being able to just pick up anyone who tries to Borrowed time Unhook and drop them on the ground. Very rarely do people have unbreakable since high ranks prefer other perks, so this is baiscally a guaranteed double kill right there. Sure by the time I'm able to hook the 2nd survivor the gens are usually done, but sometimes the remaining 2 will try and save their friend enabling me to snatch up a third, especially if I'm on Pyramid Head and decide to cage them. I've only gotten a 4 kill once or twice with this method, usually the final survivor realizes its pointless and will run away when the third person is downed but I don't mind. Without meta perks I know I shouldn't expect to get a 4 kill.

I understand why people hate it. I hate it when it happens survivor side. But I'm literally forced into it killer side If I don't want all 4 survivors to escape.

That's not how the matchmaking works anymore. It's based off the highest ranking survivor in the lobby. I play as a rank 1 killer and I will get SWFs with 1 red rank survivor and 2-3 purple/green/brown ranks and it's typically a massacre. You are probably only getting them because there is a lack of experienced killer players who know how to pressure red ranked survivors, and the matchmaking will just give whoever to a survivor lobby if it's taking too long I assume.

Pyramid head's basekit and perks are strong enough to get you to at least purple ranks. Even purple/red rank survivors are typically very inexperienced. It's somewhat rare to play against a 4 man red rank death squad, which is really the only time you even need a full meta build.

  • @WestX said:

Most of the time I see loops that are too strong and waste a lot of my time chasing the survivor, and many MANY people have talked about how at high levels you CAN'T CHASE. You have to either end the chase in a few seconds, or chase them off them immediately go rush to another gen, because you have to pressure each generator equally.

Honestly it feels like a fundamental flaw in the game design and it seriously needs some looking into. It wouldn't be so bad if like you could continue speeding up over time in a chase, but loops are the entire reason why only around 3 or 4 killers are able to be competitive in red ranks, those being 2 Killers with a full on map teleport (Hag and Freddy) and 2 killers with a "pseudo" teleport that counters looping (Nurse and Spirit). With the current way the game is played because of the mechanics these 4 are "the best" because their powers are the ones that actually enable them to win chases fast enough that they don't lose the game going after a single survivor.

Another issue is generator regression being so slow that its meaningless unless you have ruin.

    Spooky.PNG

Every killer is more than viable in red ranks. This is from like a month ago. I assume the higher skillcap killers (nurse, blight, deathslinger, demo, huntress) have lower kill rates because you are given so many opportunities to screw up with their power.

I wonder why pig is so high though, maybe because all the red rank pigs run the RNG mori headtrap addons and it only takes 1 person getting unlucky for them to 3-4k off luck alone.

And I disagree with your logic, there are really 2 ways to play DBD at high ranks. You rock full chase perks and tunnel / camp / slug the heck out of everyone, using the chase perks to power through the loops and BT/DS. Or you do ruin / undying / discordance and play a game of attrition, clearing out safe pallets while regressing gens until they run out of resources and start to go down. (Or you just play braindead spirit / hag and do whatever you want).

But don't complain the "loops are too safe" when there's really no god setups anymore on all but a handful of maps. You should know as a killer not to chase into really nasty setups if your killer doesn't have the power or perks to deal with them.

  • Idk, maybe low-mid tier? People keep saying they can hold the baby hostage but that person can't do gens so it's a 3v1 if they do that. All an M1 killer needs to be a monster is enduring and bamboozle.

I doubt it will be too hard to ambush someone with the baby at a generator. I don't think he has a terror radius correct?

I think people who are attempting to use him mid-chase are wrong for many reasons: The transition period, the difficulty of hitting a survivor attempting to juke, the punishment of a missed attack, the distance they will still be gaining on the main killer, and the waste of the killer instinct.

He is probably best used like a ward, or to go to generators that survivors are confirmed to be working at through discordance / surveillance / etc.

  • If you want to ignore looping there are plenty of killers in the game that practically already do it. I find them relatively boring to play, because having to go down into the loops is what makes killer fun and rewarding for me; having to work for the downs and outplay people instead of teleporting on top of their heads with nurse/spirit/etc.

I usually hate playing killers with a ranged attack. Getting someone with a knife / chainsaw / baseball bat / etc is what makes DBD so satisfying to me.

The new maps and reworks are more unsafe than ever as it is.

You obviously don't play league then. A single player cannot get strong enough to win an entire game. Sure, maybe when someone who literally is paid to play the game plays against the worst 20% of players. But in even gold ranks in that game? yeah, no it isn't happening. With CS:GO you are limited by what you can do significantly. If you have 1 player with the bomb, and the run in and get caught out, the bomb is now in a terrible place, and you might as well call that a round over.

I'm not saying it is impossible to 1v5, or to do well in league by yourself. But, it is significantly more difficult to win by yourself, then it is for someone to single handedly lose you the game. Because snowballing in those games is far more important than most. It's like chess, if you blunder a knight or bishop, you may as well resign when playing at anything other than casual level.

I peaked at platinum something in league like 8 years ago. You can literally go on youtube and watch people smurf from bronze to challenger while barely dropping any games, because they stomp their lane so hard they snowball the other lanes as well. They literally breeze through gold and platinum, making the platinum players look bronze. It's only in high diamond where I see them start to slow down at all. If you don't believe me, go look it up yourself. I'm not arguing with you when there is ~tons~ of video proof to back up my claims that can be found with a simple google search.

Like, I'm one of those Slinger mains who gives a warning shot. Yet people complain they got into a match with Deathslinger and act as if I'm some lower form of human...

Not really. You can just turn off the endgame chat. You can turn comments on your profile off or set it to private. I haven't played on xbox in a minute but im sure there's probably some way to disable incoming messages from random people.

Me? I think the salty comments are funny. I never complain about the killer when im playing survivor, nor do I DC, which is why the constant DCs and super salty survivor comments when I play killer make me laugh. Bunch of whiny crybabies.
