I would make a tier list, but it would spark arguments.

Hey guys,
I've been seeing a lot of people getting frustrated with the new map. So I went and made an in-depth guide, discussing the map layout, tile spawns, pallet and window locations as well as some other tips. I've also created a map that shows all of the doors, windows/pallets, drop locations, stairs and breakable walls.

I don't mind the 4 second fatigue. It doesn't really hold me up all that bad. The thing that hits me the hardest is the miss penalty.
-
This is awesome. With so many people playing killer, the only 2 times I actually got the new map, all the survivors seemed to already have the layout memorized.

Because she's a skin not a new character.
They never promised lore/separate character treatment they said day 1 she will be a skin.
Their explanation of legendary cosmetics was that they would be a different character.

Yeah no, you get a charm for inputting it.
Cool. Probably a bug then. Hope they fix it.

I'm pretty sure it's just a chime. Not a charm. You get a charm for buying the dlc instead of each character with auric cells.

Just bluff the unhook to bait the cool down.

No one going to mention that this also seems to affect stairs as well?

It's literally not just for slugging lmao, You get hit with the mending action if you get healed up from the ground then if the killer hits you which is a free BT that is always active with or without a hex and if theres no hex then that's why survivors will just run unbreakable and if there is a hex then they can keep using free unbreakables until the hex is down which the survivors get to control, How do you not see a problem with this lmao.
That scenario you just mentioned? Yeah, that's a slug scenario. Kinda difficult for them to get up off the ground if you don't leave them on the ground. Also, it was nerfed, because it used to function like mettle of man endurance when they got up. Personally, I have not been able to get it to work even once.

Okay and? That perk is garbage compared to soul guard lmao.
Soulguard, like unbreakable, is only useful if the killer slugs while using a hex. I've rarely gotten an anti slug build to work, because I rarely go up against someone that slugs. Maybe if you combine it with a sabo build
-
@Nubgutter said:
So you're telling me that something like gear head was too op so the devs nerfed it but yet soul guard still isnt nerfed when it's already op and unbalanced especially when you add other op perks with it, There is literally zero excuse for this and there isnt a chance in hell that this flew over the devs heads they knew exactly what they were doing and I'll guarantee they only nerfed gear head because of killers like spirit lmao, If soul guard still isnt nerfed by 2 weeks later then this will only help prove my point.
Well, Forced Penance got a buff.

It's a recurring symbol throughout the series. In some it's important to the story, in others it's just the mark of the save point.

Okay okay Imma BIG Silent Hill fan and am perfectly happy with what we got Im just curious what made you guys pick someone like Pyramid Head over someone like Claudia? I mean look she has a weapon, she has the mentality, shes perfect for the killer role! Plus it is canon she has control over the otherworld so it makes sense why she'd have something like Pyramid Head's power. I mean look at the video shes so perfect for an antagonist plus shes even the antagonist of Silent Hill 3 the game heather is from! Like I said im perfectly happy with all the chapter we have in fact im more than happy with it Im just curious why Claudia was ruled out or if she was even considered :)
Probably because Claudia is in, like, 1 game, and the movie many fans didn't like. Pyramid Head was in SH2, both movies, and Homecoming. Hell, one of the endings of Homecoming has you being turned into a Pyramid Head. Another thought is that he was in the movie, and many people didn't like the movie that Claudia was in. There's also the idea that Claudia herself was never a boss. She just becomes the boss. Pyramid Head stalks you in SH2. In several cases giving James the hope that he and Maria can escape, only to kill her. As far as Heather being from the 3rd game, and Pyramid Head being from the second not feeling like it fits. Well, the map is from the first game. So it's sort of a 1, 2, 3 kind of thing.

Thank you so much for your response! I will say that all the suggestions related towards items names/etc I do agree with name changes/etc to fit existing lore. I wrote this up a long time ago and hadn't looked to see if there were any updates (when I originally made it, there was no identification and clarification for Alex).
Let me comment on a few of the suggestions you posted and explain my reasoning behind the idea and you can comment back if you'd like, or if I miss understood something!
I like having it restricted, but I also think some players wouldn't be interested
The great thing about the idea is that passively in the game as it currently is, people typically search through chests. (I don't have the statistics, but I would argue that more often than not at least 2/3 chests are searched/looted. This means that players who don't want to risk getting punished for attempting to reap the rewards, aren't punished for doing so and it doesn't negatively effect them for doing so, while giving other survivors who are interested, to passively be helped by those just searching boxes and not really caring about the Secret Stash.
A single survivor can make multiple attempts, but can only obtain a single item.
The reasoning I would argue against this, is mostly because if survivors fail, they're already suffering a health state, which effects other players as well, and I do think that being able to do this more than once could have a severely negative effect on the team's success as a whole. And two, this reduces the total amount of items that make it out of the game and into circulation as whole, which is ideal.
Since this new mechanic doesn't benefit the killer in a major way, so that the killer gets a new mechanic to go with it, when the stash lights up, the killer can interact with it to knock out one of the lights.
When I originally made this idea and to this day, I do think that as a whole, Killers have enough to manage in the game as is. You have to constantly chase and apply pressure on the map which is a FULL time job. Whereas survivor, is far more relaxing and allows you to do different things, on AVERAGE compared to killer. This idea was mostly meant as a way to buy killers more time in the average game, while giving an incentive for survivors to spend time doing them that doesn't change the game in a MAJOR way.
this reduces the total amount of items that make it out of the game and into circulation as whole, which is ideal.
The limit would still be 4. It's also why I mentioned making it so that the unique items couldn't be brought in to new trials.
survivors who are interested, to passively be helped by those just searching boxes and not really caring about the Secret Stash.
My thoughts for this were that it would limit the person actively trying for the stash to only one attempt. This would, in turn, only buff swf, as a solo survivor would not be as willing to pursue the stash, further splitting the gap between solo and swf.
Killers have enough to manage in the game as is.
My reasoning here is that, if a survivor misses the check, and you go to investigate the sound notification to find that the survivor is long gone, you have wasted your time investigating something that can greatly benefit survivors with no payoff for their mistake. Allowing them to compound that mistake by removing an attempt gives them incentive to investigate. Also, as another searchable chest, this would provide another opportunity for survivors to gain bonus blood points without a balance for the killer.

I like this idea, but I have some thoughts. First, I honestly think that it would make more sense if it was Vigo's Secret Stash, rather than Alex. Vigo has been known to be able to affect the realm of the Entity, and the Engineer's toolbox is Vigo's. I like having it restricted, but I also think some players wouldn't be interested. My suggestion would be to make it so that it has 4 lights on it. Each light is an attempt. A single survivor can make multiple attempts, but can only obtain a single item. Since this new mechanic doesn't benefit the killer in a major way, so that the killer gets a new mechanic to go with it, when the stash lights up, the killer can interact with it to knock out one of the lights. Set it up so that each item that can be in the stash can only spawn once.
I would change the toolbox to be called Vigo's Masterpiece. Can't think of any changes to the other two. As stated before by someone else, the devs may not want to add Alex's name to other items. Maybe the flashlight can be Baker's Flashing or something.
Lastly, these unique items may be too op for survivors to potentially always have, and some add-ons could just make them OP in general. So, I would also add the stipulation that they aren't effected by Ace in the Hole, and that you can't bring them into a new trial. If you escape with one, you get the prize of lore in the flavor text, but it's always greyed out, similar to event offerings no longer available. To indicate that you got one of these special items, they would be the only toolbox, medkit, and flashlight that are iridescent, so you know in the match what you got.

Hi there! I'd like to do a brief introductory before I went on and gave a detailed description of the new content I'm suggesting. I've played DBD a long time, and one thing that I find is universal is that survivors want something else to do that's meaningful, and that killer's want survivors to do something else instead of working on gens all the time. My suggestion is something that does both. A new side objective for survivors that gives a reward for completing it.
Alex's Secret Stash
Alex's Secret Stash is a new objective on every map that is optional for the survivors to locate and unlock, granting 3 luxury items, many only obtainable by opening this objective.
How to open: Alex's Stash can only be open by -
- First opening all standard chests on the map.
- Finding the chest on the map (it is able to be seen before chests are opened, but cannot be interacted with until all chests are opened).
- Once all chests are opened, each survivor may complete a series (3) of extremely difficult skill checks. (Doctor skill checks back to back to back) Upon completing, you may claim your reward.
- If a survivor fails his skill checks, he is injured one health state and cannot attempt to open the chest again.
- Alex's Secret Stash may be opened a total of 4 times, once by each survivor.
Rewards: Alex's SS offers great rewards for those willing to commit to opening it. Items opened by users with Ace in the Hole each are affected by the perk, for a total of 3 times. Alex's SS also offers unique items unable to be found in the bloodweb or in regular chests.
- Alex's Refined Toolbox: 32 charges, Tremendously increases repair speed, tremendously increases sabotage speed, unlocks sabotage action.
- Alex's Flashlight: 16 seconds of use, slightly decreases flashlight battery consumption, tremendously increases flashlight blind duration.
- Alex's Medkit: 36 charges, tremendously increases the speed that you heal others, moderately decreases consumption rate of healing yourself, unlocks the self-heal action.
(Yes, I'm aware these are simply stronger versions of already existing items, but being locked behind an objective and having them be the best available of existing items makes the objective that more enticing for item collectors, and players who want best in slot).
- Rainbow map
- Purple Flashlight
- Alex's Toolbox
- Engineer's Toolbox
- Skeleton Key
- Ranger's Medkit
- Green Flashlight
Alex is a character depicted in Dead by Daylight as a mysterious characters somehow tied to the existing lore, found only in the description and name of "Alex's Toolbox" ("Most of the tools are identified as 'owned by Alex'.")
My suggestion is to expand on this secret lore and make it so he was an engineer who crafted the finest tools available and stash them away in the eternal nightmare the Entity created, hoping that some lucky souls brave enough would uncover his creations and use them to help escape.
Please leave suggestions and thoughts below.

Well, YouTubers that play dbd have in multiple cases stated that a slow down build is the best build for Legion. Legion sort of became the black sheep of the game, so many don't use them. With the tome containing the Legion, many that don't generally play Legion suddenly are, and are as such taking the advice of others and using Legion's "best build." Personally, I get tired of using the slow down build, but no other build that I tried has as much success.
-
Honestly, I hate that the effects of the add-ons make the perk useless. Primarily because they emulate the effects of the t3 versions of the perks. At the same time, I like that a decent nurse would essentially be working with 6 perks.
-
For Meyers, I think it might be a bit op. Just because it could potentially stack with the perk it emulates. With the nurse's add-ons, there isn't anything that could stack. Maybe if it had the stipulation added to the add-on that it doesn't stack. Though, then it wouldn't be worth using with Thanatophobia. Maybe if it emulated STBFL instead, with the stipulation that it doesn't stack?

So what I mean is don't make them super stereotypical/make their lore ALL about them being gay/lesbian. I don't mind gay characters hell I'm a gay trap myself and I wouldn't mind a femboy character bein added but like...I don't want the typical flamboyant gay man or the typical "My life was terrible because of my sexuality." gay or lesbian character. If you just added that the character had a same sex partner in the backstory or made their partner an important person in their lore great! Just please plan this correctly because at the moment it seems like pandering.
It's also possible to create a character that is gay without ever even mentioning it. Create their lore with the mindset of them being gay. Maybe a pin or something subtle added to their outfit. Idk what it would be, though.

I disagree. Even if killer are camping and tunneling, the survivor can still escape if his team helps him out. BT is only the begining, bodyblocking the killer, distracting and blinding him, there is actuall several things to be done. But they are risky for the one saving, thus in solo lobbys very few people do it, and you see it more often with swf.
I camp and tunnel as a killer if i see that i am (again) set up against survivors way above my skill level. Only way for me to get kills at all then. I dont like it very much, but its better than no kill and being harressed in the aftergame chat. Because i actually notice, while there are toxic player in the after game chat, there are less if i tunnel them out early, because they dont want to wait just to insult me. If all escape, the abuse is usually worse.
Not everyone is going to bring BT. Not every team will have someone with BT. Kinda hard to body block if the killer waits for the unhooked guy to touch ground and then hit them while ignoring everyone else.
-
@Orion said:
- Is it wrong to camp when the other three survivors are crouching around the hook doing nothing?
- Is it wrong to camp when the gates are open and you don't have any insta-down?
- How long does a killer have to wait after a survivor is unhooked until it is no longer considered "tunneling"?
- If all survivors are dressed the same way, how can the killer avoid tunneling?
- If the killer can't find the unhooker, is it wrong to tunnel?
Just a few questions off the top of my head.
PS: Camping and tunneling are fine and fair. Go do gens.
Alright, you go do gens while I kms on the hook to get to the next game. Then you're camped. Have fun "doing gens."
-
The problem here is that, for every character to feel balanced equally, every character is given the exact same hitbox, so that it's not more difficult to hit some characters than it is to hit others. Likewise, every single killer has the exact same strike box given to their basic attack. This means that Oni's huge nodachi has the same hit detection as Suzy's sharpened ruler. It's also the same attack distance for Pyramid Head's gigantic knife.
-
Mostly I hate that they are almost identical.
-
I could see Wraith putting the bell on someone's head, then banging it till the survivor bleeds out of their ears and eyes.
Trapper should only work like that if he has a trap in his hand. Otherwise it should be how it is now. Or like, he takes the trap in his hand, and just shoves it on their face. Then opens it back up to remove it.
-
Gonna go with Nemesis as the newest perk I actually use semi-regularly.
As for survivor perks, same dlc. Break out is great for sabo builds.
-

I also like it. But i think more legion add ons need more love.
I agree, but I figured I'd focus on the one that tries so desperately to emulate OG Legion. Especially when the only way to get any real value from it was erases in December when they made FF attacks no longer count as basic attacks, and made it so you can stave off DW status by sprinting.
-
Personally, I just wish that perks better fit the characters that they come with. Like if Pyramid Head had a perk that increased the fog for each completed generator or something.

This is an idea I have for it, maybe it can work but it's like kindred, when you unhook someone you see every survivor for 10 seconds, it can help you for solo queue in case that you are injured, you can just run towards that survivor.
But it might not be that good but I really don't know of any way of buffing it, because if you say "you get to see the killer's aura for 4 seconds" well babysitter exists, kindred is run on most solo survivors I've played with which is almost the same way I want to buff wglf
Yeah, I was thinking about that too. You and unhooked survivor see the auras of other survivors for a tier based amount of time. Can even tell you if someone else is in a chase if you also want to go in for protection hit.
-
What about making it so that if you get hit while unhooking someone, you get deep wounds. You have 8/10/12 seconds to mend. This counts both if you are injured or not, so as not to make it too strong. To counter it, the killer can wait until you finish to attack you, or attempt a grab. But also makes it so if you take a hit getting to a hook, you can still get them off of it and run. This also provides a counterplay to camping killers.
-
So survivors blowing their load in the early game is a problem? Gen speeds are fine. That's not something that they can do consistently throughout the trial.

Hi everyone! With the new Scream 5 movie coming out I did consider again if they’d potentially let DBD in on some of their fun content. I did have a bit of a “paragraph” concept that would basically help to finish out what many people have complained about not getting in the Ghostface Chapter and I just want feedback on the ideas presented here. So excited to share this with y’all! 😊
The problem here is that, to my knowledge, DBD only got the rights to the appearance of Ghostface, not any actual characters. That's why Ghostface is original other than the concept. No version looks like the look he comes with.
-
@Awakey said:
I don't wanna burst your bubble, because you obviously worked hard on this and I fully respect that, but Scream is already a chapter in DbD. Ghostface is a powerful stealth killer.
Actually, Scream is a paragraph in Dead by Daylight. Chapters include a killer, a Survivor, and a map. All we got was a killer.

It takes 2 week for Sony to review and validate any DLC.
When PTB ends, they submit it, and start the review.
2 weeks after PTB ended.
I fail to see how Sony fits into this? I'm going off of how it has worked in the past. A few PTB's ago, they extended the gap between the PTB and release from a week to 2 weeks.

Can you tell me when the chapter 16 will be released? Some web site said on June 16th? Why not June 9th? I would like proof that the devs did say the 16th, thank you.
Ptb just ended. It generally lasts a week. Then there's 2 weeks before the chapter releases. Pretty much everything happens on tuesdays, so, the 16th.

I loved this game when I first played it. Hours and hours. I defended both survivors side and killers side.
But I can’t play this anymore. Cheats, toxicity, SWF, bad match making.... a killer can’t do anything anymore.
Besides running in a circle because you actually found someone to chase, since they all know where you are, chasing that one person who knows all the tricks, while the other three are gen rushing the other side of the map, all a killer can do is kick a few gens and not do anything.
The game isn’t the real problem. It’s the people who want to find the easy outs. The ones who think they are skilled by cheating, or gaining an unfair advantage.
It’s really and truly heartbreaking. I really was passionate about this game. But I can’t do it anymore. There is no fun, no appeal, and no joy in it.
Alright, gonna address a couple of these.
Cheats: People have been hacking in this game forever. That's not a justification, but I would like to point out that all the devs are currently working from home due to the pandemic, so cheating is harder for them to catch, even when reported. They can't just ban everyone that gets reported.
Match Making: They are currently working on new match making algorithms. They haven't released when it will be implemented, but it does look to be better than what we currently have.

Honestly, I think adept for killers should have something to do with kills since survivors just have to escape. I always thought it was unfair that survivors could depip and still get the adept achievement while killers are required to double pip to get theirs.
-
I find this post hilarious only because everyone always complains that Legion is terrible. Now that people have to play them, more people are seeing what they're capable of. As a Legion main, I love it.
As to the OP's statement, Thanatophobia, at most, can only add 12.8 seconds to the time it takes to do a generator. That's if you are working on it alone, from nothing, without a toolbox. Add a second survivor and prove Thyself, it drops to 6.5 seconds. Sure, Dying Light adds to this. So if you're worried about facing a slow down Legion, bring prove Thyself and resilience, and you've already overcome the slowdown. And it's useful regardless of who you're up against, too.

So everyone except one person is really gonna overlook what this person just defined pansexuality as..? Please find me a source that says the word pansexual was created to mean that. I can't find anything. Sigmund Freud of all people coined the term, and it basically meant that all choices humans make are primarily driven by sexual desires. And to even say that pansexuals are being discarded by the LGBT+ community is entirely false. The LGBT+ is one of the most inclusive communities in the world because we know what it's like to be different and shunned for it. Obviously there are no place for pedophiles or acts of bestiality, but that is not what pansexual means, as someone has already explained.
Thank you! My spouse is pansexual. Basically all it means is that gender is not a factor in your sexual preference.
-
I would love for Jeff the Killer to be in the game. However, considering much of his schtick is either stab a lot or burn things, I think it would fit better as a legendary skin for the Legion rather than a new killer.
But all stories are not created equal. Creepy Pasta are creative commons. So the devs could have some creative license to them. Essentially writing their own take on the character to fit it into the lore of dbd.

As you're stalking someone, a red ring forms around their icon. When it closes, it gets brighter and a loud noise sounds. I think their character model also glows red a little.
