Be honest! I'll either use a mori next game or just face camp since I already lost a pip i'm usually ok with losing another after. Half the games I play i get brutal killer with a 3k so pips dont really matter anymore.

Slowdown Legion with an Eboni Mori.

  • I had the same issue. First match after I selected it, I earned like 2200 in deviousness, but only got credit for a little over a thousand.

As Myers unless you are playing an indoor map your main objective is to get EW2 asap, OoO or not, EW1 may hide your aura but makes you move at 105% which makes catching anyone almost impossible if they know the basics of how to loop.

If you are in an outdoor map remaining at EW1 will severely gimp you for you are easy to spot from a mile away and any Survivor will get a huge headstart, at 105% that headstart will make the chase last more than 90 seconds easily, especially if they have any Exhaustion perk.

I understand how Meyers works. I mailed him until Legion came out. Regardless, OoO is not particularly useful against an m1 killer.

T1 is a disadvantage for Myers.

In tier 2 and 3, Survivors can tell when he's stalking and starve him.

T1 has advantages as well as disadvantages. If you are close enough to stalk someone, you're too close for object to function. It has a minimum range.

  • @Doctor_Derek said:

I hate Object so much. It completely takes the fun out of Myers who is one of my favorites. I don't even want to play him now. Sucks.

Really? I can understand set-up killers like Hag and Trapper, but Meyers? Not really. Chances are you'll see them long before they see you cuz they can't see you when you're still in t1, so it gives you a head start if anything. And if you're running a scratched mirror, they're a free kill.

If it's bothering you, try to get Tinkerer and Trail of Torment for the undetectable effect. Kills Object.

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I play survivor just as much as killer but I rarely ever see a killer actually properly do either of these things. Like maybe once or twice a month I'll come across one.

I know there's quite a few people on here that claim they get it constantly and say it's the biggest problem with the game right now and I honestly wonder if it is really that bad for some people.

Tbf some people's definition of what camping and tunnelling is can be very broad so I do take these claims with a grain of salt

Last night, about a third of the games I played, the killer tunneled and/or camped. Whether it was the nurse that constantly left and teleported back repeatedly, the hag that refused to chase anyone away from a hook after teleporting to her phantasm, the pig that crouched behind a fence, or the Ghostface that hooked me up on a hill and just walked around me until I died.

  • At most, I think there should be an offering that changes the time of day. So night maps are brighter with sun being out, and daytime maps are darker, with maybe a full moon to make sure there's at least some lightning, still.

I'd love to see the Dead Dawg Saloon at night, personally.

  • I'd say play Legion. If focus on getting hits rather than downs, you should get at least one iridescent emblem every game

  • @SweetTerror said:

When BHVR revealed that survivors would no longer suffer from reduced healing speeds against Thana, but would instead suffer from greater affects to action speeds, needless to say I think we all assumed those numbers would be greater than 1%.

Literally adding just a few more seconds to a generator? Why even bother?

Considering that I've been able to circle a gen that was almost complete and finish it with the killer next to me, a few seconds can mean a lot.

  • @Mr_Madness said:

I would say a CreepyPasta DLC like Slenderman since can't go wrong with a classic nightmare that people remembered when it was a trend back in the Golden days of Creepypasta.

Or maybe something tad Generic but lot of possibilities like a Scarecrow cause you know lots of crows, a corn field map, and can't go wrong with a soul harvest for the entity.

Last idea would be The Headless Horseman because its a real horror classic......too bad no one uses him anymore in the media.

Those are my thoughts so name a DLC yourself that no one will expect but will still be amazing.

    A Fatal Frame chapter.

  • Um. No it isn't. I've only been playing swf for about a year, but I've encountered this bug several times a week for the entire time I've played with friends.

  • @Onyx_Blue said:

Trying to find a match as SWF is actually so broken now.

The game refuses to load you into lobbies together. It bugs out and either kicks you to the menu or leaves you there trying to find one with every other player experiencing different things on their perspectives. "I'm ready" "you're not" "no one is even in my lobby" "we're all ready on my screen". Etc etc

Well done devs, well done. Making your game ever so unplayable and infruriating with every update.

This has always been a thing. Swf wasn't in the game originally, so it's never really worked right. Whenever a friend or I see different things, we just restart the game and try again. This isn't new.

I won't change your mind, Legion IS useless.

However your build is pretty damn awful my dude ngl.

NOED is useless and not only hinders you it promotes a bad play style and prevents you from getting better at the game. BBQ is probably the worst aura reading perk and I would change it for Nurse's, but if you're running it for the BP i guess it's okay. And Brutal Strength is terrible on 80% of builds, a good perk combo for Legion (and most killers actually) would be Nemesis + PWYF since the extra speed is very helpful to increase your map pressure. I'm All Ears is another very underrated perk (and a bit situational too) but it can be useful with Legion in certain maps.

Pwyf is practically worthless for Legion. Their whole concept is reliant on constantly attacking, which uses up the charges before they can be useful. If you don't want to run a slow down build, and really wanna focus pallets, bring Enduring + Spirit Fury and an Iridescent Pin. Then you might as well take advantage of the map wide TR with Unnerving Presence and Lullaby.

  • I think that ebony moris should be tied to how many gens are done. Like you can Mori anyone you've hooked after the exit gates are powered, or something.

You can simply just back up to fix the hook bug for that survivor.

That rarely actually works. Dropping them and picking them back up works every time for me

  • @Nutty_Professor said:

After yesterday's patch fix, the bugs that were fixed were the audio of the killer's radius for survivors, Huntress' hatchet hit boxes, and when you hook a survivor is hooked in the basement, they'll appear to float in the air.

All these bugs have something in common, they affect survivors. To be honest, I barely noticed them when I was playing survivor, and didn't impact my gaming experience too much (I only saw the basement hook bug once, and that was when I was playing killer).

However, the game breaking bugs that killers have been experiencing still remain after the patch fix:

    • A bug where you're unable to hook a survivor on a specific hook, you have to try and take the survivor to a different hook to hook them. By the time you got to the other hook the survivor would have wiggled free. To add to this, survivors have been using saboteur, breakout, and using increasing the hook distance offerings.
    • A bug which prevents from the killer from vaulting windows. This seems to happen when you want to vault a window to cut a survivor off at a loop, such as Shack, Jungle Gyms etc.
    • A bug which prevents the killer from being able to kick generators or break pallets from certain sides.
    • Not to mention bugs that have existed before the latest DLC, which were silent slugs and survivors often not having any sound. (Which has been in the game for nearly a year now)

The bugs above should have been more of a priority to have them fix, than the bugs that were fixed. Because currently killer is nearly impossible to play at higher tier game play. You can work around these bugs against potatoes, but not against good survivors.

I'm tagging @Peanits as these bugs need to be addressed.

First off, the terror radius bug was horrible. A Freddy pulled me off a gen and I didn't even know he was nearby. Secondly, if you get the hook bug, you just drop them and pick them back up again and then hook them. It's worked every time for me

  • @Pulsar said:

As I've been watching more and more of the Blight (mostly on PC) I have come to be very disappointed in how Legion is handled. In my eyes, Blight is everything Legion should have been, but more important than that, it has raised a few questions.

Firstly, the Blight as relatively few issues with his power. It does not stutter or lag him back after he hits an object. Legion, however, does get pulled back when vaulting pallets.

The Blight moves at 230% when using his power, despite this, his power recharges in 10 seconds. Legion moves at 130% (his power is objectively worse) but it has a recharge time of 20 seconds.

The Blight's power lasts around 15 seconds by default, Legion's lasts only 10 by default, though it does re-fill when hitting a Survivor.

Lastly, the Blight has a stun of 2.5 seconds without any screen darkening shenanigans. This is a power that can down people, and allows him to speed around the map. Legion, whose power is vastly slower and cannot ever down Survivors, has a stun of 4 seconds and you cannot see anything around you since the screen darkens. Why give a Killer whose power is objectively worse a massive cooldown, one longer than Nurse's?

I know not a lot of people like the Legion, which is fair, he is super annoying, but I'd like to see him changed for the better, so that he can be fun to play against and to play as. Right now though, it kind of seems like he's been left by the wayside.

I've been thinking the same thing. Legion doesn't need to be as fast, since they have full control of their movement, but maybe a touch faster. The fact that you can get Blight's cool down to about 1 second indicates that Legion's cool down needs to be lower than it is. And I still think that the biggest thing Legion needs is to not be kicked from their power on a miss.

"Hotfix" greatest joke I've seen so far

"We currently looking into the heartbeat bug"

    "Looking"

Update was 7 days ago, a patch would most likely come out in a month or 2 because BHVR

What are you talking about? It's a bug that affects survivors. It'll probably be gone in maybe another week

  • @Zeus said:

Yeah..it's a well known issue. Hotfix very soon. Like tomorrow soon.

That would be awesome. It's almost not even worth playing survivor right now.

  • @kingoftheirish1992 said:

Just stop using him knowing it is a exploit. Ask him if they knew that he is bugged to get the response of it like permanent iron will. Told him it is not intended and exploiting and he shrugged it off with the the line get a life. Did a report on Xbox just because of how brash he was knowing in game reports go nowhere. Hopefully it gets fix soon rather than later.

Are you aware that Xbox is bugged and survivors can't hear terror radius at all? Now that you know this, are you going to stop playing every killer or keep playing? This isn't a joke, either. Since the new chapter dropped, I haven't been able to hear the killer's terror radius at all. The only killers I can stand a chance against are ones that have music with it. So like, Huntress, Meyers, Doctor, and Deathslinger are the only ones I can tell the killer is even near me.

Gotcha. I hadn't noticed your stream summary post.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1615036#Comment_1615036

This isn't true at the moment, because MMR matchmaking is currently disabled. I would guess OP's problem is the opposite - matchmaking has reverted to how it was before the MMR changed (in other words, pretty garbage) and that's why they're having problems.

The good news, @StarLost , is it's not something you've done wrong, the matchmaking is known to be bad at the moment and everybody is experiencing the same thing. The bad news is there's nothing you can do about it except wait until the new MMR matchmaking is reactivated and hopefully things will improve. In the meantime, playing at peak times when there are likely to be more people online in your region could help, as the main reason for the system to be placing you with high ranked players is because there aren't enough survivors at your own rank available.

Really? I thought they reinstated the mmr when cross play dropped.

    @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1615048#Comment_1615048

Yeah, that is another issue admittedly. I believe parties like that are matched based on the average of all ranks in the party - if it's two or three high-ranked players with one very low rank, the average is probably around purple ranks (5-8) which is very much within the acceptable matchmaking range for you at rank 12. The current system has a lot of things wrong with it, and that's just one of them. Like I said, all you can really do is tough it out until the new matchmaking system comes into play. In the meantime, I would recommend maybe looking at some guides or just watching gameplay on Twitch or YouTube to familiarise yourself more quickly with the game so you don't feel so completely lost in those situations. But for what it's worth, you have my sympathy 🙁

If it is using the old match making right now, about a year ago, they made it so swf matches based on the highest ranking player

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1615036#Comment_1615036

Thanks. I hoped that was what was going on, so I decided to stick to a single killer for a bit. I didn't change, except that I went from seeing lots of purple with the odd green to lots of red with the odd purple.

Did you keep getting destroyed? Cuz it's supposed to (assuming it's working properly) set you up against players with a comparable skill to the killer you selected. For example, I'm pretty good going up against a Trapper or a Demo, so the killers that I play against are usually pretty good at those killers. But I'm absolute garbage against Doctor. I'm like, a rank 7 ish survivor, and I struggle against rank 16 Doctors.

  • The match making right now is based on what killer you're playing. Your first few ranks are usually going to be against other low rank players. After that, the mmr should be in place. But if you switch killers, it won't know how good you are with that killer. Play the same killer for awhile and you should start to play against survivors more suited to your skill level with that killer. Unfortunately, that means you'll have a few bad games in the meantime

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1605154#Comment_1605154

Here it's like £5 for 500 cells, so £10 for both, or like £6-7 for the full dlc. Additionally, in your scenario, you save about $1. 17 chapters, that's $17 saved. Might not seem like much but to some people it's a blessing.

It's about $5 for 500, but if you buy 1000 at once, it's about $9

  • @SirCracken said:

It replaces the normal skillchecks you get while healing with unique skillchecks that start off actually removing healing progress, but as you complete them they gain progress.

The bonus starts at -25% and goes up to 80% progress after completing 5 skill checks.

It can potentially be really good if the killer you're up against is getting lots of hits. But it is very RNG-reliant compared to the other healing perks.

Actually, it's +15% per stack up to 5 stacks. So +75% up from -25%. Basically, 2 skill checks fully heals someone

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1604995#Comment_1604995

Additionally, it's much cheaper to buy the dlc than with cells.

Idk about much cheaper. 1000 AC is, like, $8.99 USD, and the dlc is $7.99 USD. You save a dollar.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

I would genuinely like to know considering many of the factors point towards the game being survivor sided.

    1. Perks:

Many good survivor perks can be obtained for free. Adrenaline, Iron Will, and Bond are all free teachables.

Killers on the other hand have the good perks locked behind dlc. Barbecue & Chili, Surveillance, and in the case of PC, Ruin and Monitor.

Survivor is already easy enough that you don't need perks, but then you give them the absolute best perks for free. Killers such as Wraith and Legion will get dominated without perks, but the best perks to run on them are locked behind dlc.

    2. Items and offerings:

Survivor: Keys; Styptics (which got buffed); Syringes (which are worse, but still incredibly powerful); BNP; Commodious toolbox; Emergency Med-Kit.

Killer: Ebony and Ivory Mori; Iridescent Brick; Iri Head. That's all.

    3. Maps and tile spawns:

Ormond. Coldwind. Autohaven. These three realms tend to be extremely survivor sided. Ormond especially just has pallet after pallet after pallet. The only deadzone that can even exist here is one of the corners with a gen near the small building with stairs.

Now, the killer sided maps are Hawkins, Lery's, and The Game, but even these are only good for stealth killers, Trapper, and Hag. A killer like Nurse is going to have an extremely difficult time on these maps.

Tile spawns would be Cow Tree into Jungle Gym into shack (Coldwind). Safe pallet into safe pallet into main building with two safe pallets into Looping Gym into Safe Pallet into shack (Ormond).

    4. Glitches:

You can call me scummy for including glitches, but with how many sound bugs that exist in the game and several safe spots that can be reached, killer is at an unintentional disadvantage. No moaning, no breathing, no footsteps, and no dying noises are some of them. Iron Will, one of the best perks in the game, is bugged to not make you breath at all.

Falling onto the exit gate switch on Midwich so the killer can't get you unless he/she is playing Deathslinger.

There are just far too many issues with the game. They haven't even been fixed even though they've been in the game for months.

I would like to say that I find it quite dumb that the devs can fix pointing and crouching (which should a permanent feature) in a week, but they can't fix the detrimental sound bugs after several months.

Whether it be from perks, consumables, unfair maps, or glitches, this game is far from killer sided.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

I will probably make a follow up to this on the history of things being nerfed.

With all the responses, idk if it's been said already, but the main thing I can think of is if a tunneling killer brings in an Ebony Mori.

Well i guess at that Halloween event they werent sure themself if it would be Vigo that they release or some other scientist. I would need to check the dates to see what came first and stuff. But having a skin related to Vigo doesnt need to mean that the killer would be Vigo. Either way i am pretty sure they sattled upon using Talbot as they wrote the lore. In the Tome.

No, I get the Blight being someone else. I specifically meant the Alchemist they've been teasing the last couple years. Cuz the coat the Blight wears is the same coat, and the monstrosity he's become is definitely the result of the pustula plant serum. Even just having him be able to capture the other killers and experiment on them screams Vigo, who's been able to affect the fog.

There's a Scott quote that I love about Legion players (myself included), where he says that every legion main's reason for liking him can be boiled down to "haha killer go zooooom"

Hahahahahahahaha! Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

  • @Hatty said:

Old ruin had to stay. It was a filter for noobs that can't do a skillcheck, it was a good way to regress a game, and at higher ranks no one really cared for ruin, because we always hit great skillchecks. New ruin is just as boring as legion as a survivor.

Freddy is op and it needs a nerf. Right now he has

    -TP to gen

    -Two alternate abilities (with addons)

-You can't see him on the distance if you are awake

    -Passive game delay (dream world)

-Making others sleep on hit is absolutely the worst, as it ends up being literally plague again, where actually waking up (cleansing with plague) is worse because you just lose time. Killer can get you infected/sleepy almost on sight

-Killer red aura, height, clothes being too dark, quiet breathing and footsteps, lullaby that doesn't gives any feedback on how close he is

-Dream world can't let you see #########, and it drops your fps by a lot so it's another handicap

idk, you can literally use Otz's build and win every single game with 2 pips and no addons. I took advantage of that on the last 45 matches of grind in the latest rift and it was just sad to witness. You don't feel any frustration or anything at all, is just a cakewalk. I think they did a great job with him just because I fell asleep everytime I play with him.

Legion is one of the most unfun killers to play and go against. Not because I believe he is op, but because he is just boring.

My unpopular opinion is that The Legion is my favorite killer to play because running fast and slapping survivors is fun.

I stared at him for a moment to make sure he was stuck. I think he may have also let me kill him at the end, too.

  • Yeah, I went up against a Bill this happened to. I downed him and let him wiggle free and then left cuz that ain't fair.

  • @Lavos99z said:

They kind of run scummy builds and tunnel more often than PC players from what I am noticing with cross play. Why is it so bad with console players? Can someone tell me why a killer on console feels the need to run a build like NOED, Blood Warden, BBQ, and Dying Light all at once? Never saw it this bad with PC players. Worst of all, can't even call these people out for their overcompensation. I may be seething a little bit from all of the tunneling, camping, and relying fully on perks rather than skill with the killer's abilities. Who would not be really?

It's nice to have the PC players finally see what were talking about. I can get behind an endgame build. Survivors have it too, but have to work for it. I just get tired of camping and tunneling. It's why I avoid doing either when I play killer unless I play Legion and wanna slap for FF.

Wendigo comes from Chippewa stories, not inuit. And Skin walkers are Navajo.....those tribal lands aren't even anywhere close on the map...In Navajo stories skin walkers are people using evil powers to turn into skin walkers. In Chippewa stories, the wendigo is just purely a demon in the forest....

Alright, cool, thanks. I seem to remember a story of the Wendigo consisting of people getting snowed into a cave, and cannibalism. Am I remembering a different creature?

Also, I didn't mean to sound like I was comparing the Wendigo to a skin walker.

No, I think they meant a survivor, too. But like, have a chapter with a Wendigo killer and native American survivor.

I agree they need a native American survivor, though. Wonder what perks they'd come with...

  • *Sigh. Yeah, I know. I just got off work and was tired. I meant sperate. It calculates one, finds the new value, then uses the new value for the second percentage reduction.

  • I think it's additive, not cumulative. I think Dying Light hits first, drops speed to 91%, then Thanatophobia cuts off 8% of that 91, dropping it to 83.72%. Though that's still practically a 17% drop.

1 2 3 4 5 … 17
