This opens up actually buffing perks like Dark Theory whose values were set so low due to the fact Haste stacking existed. So I don't see this being a real issue.
dark theory could be buffed without this change
the devs thought it was ok for survivors to have 3% permanent haste just for being injured but thought a 2% haste in a limited range was too much to be buffed??
dark theory could easily be made 5% and it still wouldn't be too strong.

Good because if survivors shouldn't be able to so should killers not be able to.
well i did say they weren't strong on either side (except for pre nerf mft as that Perk was so easy to activate) current one is fine
i think survivors especially should be able to stack haste perks because the haste perks they have are already pretty niche and require cooms or strict conditions to activate
like power of two and blood pact when do you even see these perks being used or causing a problem lol.
-
hate the haste and hindered change already made a post about it.
the unhook spam thing scares me that it might help killers more than it does survivors as some saves require multiple fakes to be able to escape against a camping killer and 3 times might not be enough.
-
my only problem with bangs was the locker saves and maybe the audio when it gets thrown in the open
over nerfing a fun mechanic is not the way to go bhvr only the abusable parts needed fixing not nerfing the blind angle for no reason.

We won't be doing a full revert, the whole 1 frame to do the turn was not something ever intended and not accessible for players on a controller. We are looking to adjust the rate of turn however to make it feel more like it did when you could do the "flick" however, which should ease the issue that players are finding it more clunky than before.
that's very good to hear Mandy
it feels too slow now and i really thought you guys would be taking ages to respond to this complaint since not many people play oni and the change is only like one day old rn.
but it's really nice to see how fast you guys respond to community complaints it's very refreshing ty <3.

yes always.

• Light grenades can blind the Killer after he gets the survivor out of the locker.
This is an absolutely unfair opportunity that many survivor players actively use.
How can this be fixed? Make the Killer immune to blinding for 2-3 seconds after he gets the survivor out of the locker.
The same goes for the fact that the Killer can be blinded in time to interrupt the survivor's action.;
• A deep wound.
For some reason, it seemed to the developers that the survivors did not like this effect, because it slows them down and forces them to spend time getting rid of it. Therefore, the healing time has been reduced, which will give the survivors extra seconds of time and deprive them of the killer.
Let me remind you that the darkening of the screen has already been removed due to a deep wound. This is the second time that a deep wound has been weakened.
If the healing time of a deep wound has been reduced, I believe that the healing progress should be reset if the survivor releases the action button, so that there are no situations where he repairs to 99%, after which he runs to give his back to a teammate who is being chased by the Legion.
Or make it so that if the survivor begins to patch up, he can no longer undo this action.
• One button is responsible for several actions.
Lifting a survivor / breaking a generator or board / opening a locker, etc. - one button is responsible for all these actions, which creates a lot of unpleasant situations when, for example, instead of lifting a survivor, you climb out the window. And this happens all the time, which is abused by some survivors.
I ask the developers to fix this problem and make sure that different buttons are responsible for different actions in the game.
• Anti Hemorrhagic Syringe
Many wounded survivors use a syringe when they are being chased by a Killer, which gives them the opportunity to heal right during the chase.
I believe that a syringe should not make survivors invulnerable and should not work when they are being chased.
The skills and improvements of the first-aid kit should also not affect the speed of treatment with a syringe, as it provides an already huge advantage that allows survivors to save their time.
• Blessings.
Survivors are given the opportunity to bless the same totem an unlimited number of times per match.
This forces the Killer to spend precious time putting it out over and over again each time.
Some survivors abuse totem builds, which creates a lot of problems.
How can I fix this issue? Embed the "Shattered Hope" skill for the assassins. The survivors will be forced to look for different totems instead of blessing the same one.
• "Babysitter" and "Deliverance" skills.
After powering the gate, these skills do not turn off, which allows the survivor to jump off on his own and manage to reach the gate, especially if teammates help him.
Babysitter gives the survivor a 10% boost for as much as 30 seconds, which is too much of an advantage, especially in endgame.
Given that the progress of opening gates does not reset when they are not opened, I believe these skills give survivors an unfair advantage.
i agree with the flashbang complaint I've seen a video where a 4 stack with 4 flashbangs, head ons and vigil completely abandoning their objective to stun lock killers for extended periods of time.
this should not be allowed in your game behavior for the same reason you previously nerfed locker saves.
extend the immunity duration for 1-2 seconds after the animation is done to prevent the uncounterable flashbang squads.

Pardon for my boldness, but before the 8.3.0 patch Distortion was an a amazing perk, but now its a bit of a disappointment. Since the patch, Ive been seeing more killers using aura perks and unless your in constant active chase, for 30 and the killer isnt toxic, ( being EXTREMELY polite about this) your in deep water. Ive been watching these last few months and the killers are Abusing that. I really dont wanna ask too much because I know game development is rough especially when it comes to bugs, believe me Im learning it now and its rough stuff, Im just asking if theres a possibility for the perk to somewhat go back to its former glory with only being in the radius, not chase. Not sure if theres anyone else bummed about distortion but Im one of them. Hope this gets some attention.
it should still be recharged in chase but let it start with 4 tokens
and reduce the time it takes to gain a token in chase even further cuz most chases do not last that long and survivors cannot always be in chase it's unrealistic there are multiple objectives for the survivors while the killer is only required to chase
it should be 10 seconds at most instead of 15
it is not fair in anyway to demolish the only counter to the many aura reading perks and addons killers have.
a nerf was needed yes but a reasonable one not that ######### perk we have now.
-
twins are way overtuned now.
not only that you didn't fix the slugging problem with them but you made it much worse.
it's much harder to kick victor now he recovers way too fast and moves way too fast after a down he should be stuck in place.
plus their addons are still so bad.
this killer is still so miserable to face.
-
i think what doctor needs is his brown or yellow detonation delay addons basekit cuz that's pretty much a required addon and he'd honethsly be fine.

In another genre I'd agree, but not for horror. More human killers like Legion and even Plague are fair enough, but SM and Trickster IMO don't work.
i think trickster fits pretty well and one of dbd's most creative designs
a kpop artist who leads a double life but his second life is that of a serial killer? that's brilliant
he's the killer you never notice who shows you something but is entirely another thing
he doesn't hide behind a mask he thrives for attention he even leaves clues for the police for fun. arrogant but smart.
i think trickster's lore was handled very well and is so underrated.
dull merchant tho is the worse design bhvr ever made in every way possible.
-
guys, does a perk like ds which can simply be made better if a number changes from 3-5 need that much time?
pls try to make this perk viable earlier.
-
if a Survivor is oblivious or you have a perk that makes you undetectable as legion you won't get killer instinct.
as for dredge, are you sure you were in nightfall? cuz that's the only time u get killer instinct.
-
stopped caring about winning as killer long time ago.
not because I can't but because this game ia too silly to take it seriously so i just started playing for chases and hooks and had a lot of fun ever since.
Survivor however frustrates me to no ends
my own lack of skill, the teammates and how the killer plays are so many factors that can make Survivor miserable.
-
most swfs don't deserve suffering against a nurse either it's usually just people trying to have fun with friends and not sweating their ass off.
-
wraith and dredge
honorable mentions to doctor, trapper, blight, plauge and probably others.
-
i really wish you could look away and not have the perk show your aura just like how the old version worked because now it might sabotage you more than it helps you.
also the aura reading shouldn't only be for the obsession and could maybe be a sec or two longer or make it give +2 sec of aura reading like lethal. do that and the perk would honestly be pretty decent.

I think there's a distinct difference between an actual failed design, and a killer that just isn't popular.
Singularity and Artist, for example, are some of the best designed powers in the game (so long as we whistle and look the other way regarding Artist's forced-to-leave-loop nonsense, anyway), and they're also not very popular. That's because they're complex and macro-focused powers that are both hard to learn and don't apply in a simple, "you are in chase so you press the button" way. That doesn't, in my view, make them failures.
Complex killers are, typically, unpopular. That's okay, though, the game has enough killers that it can handle having some that serve a more niche audience- everyone else already has their darlings and will continue to get more, after all.
this is very well said

The Skull Merchant, with her new changes, feels much better both to play as and against.
However, one outdated aspect of her reworked kit is not necessary anymore now that her drones can be used to slow down survivors:
The stacking haste effect no longer has a part in her kit. She can remotely injure survivors, and there is nothing skillful about the way she can rush down survivors for simply getting scanned. Messing with movement speed messes with the balancing of the maps in the game; this is different from a charged attack like Hillbilly or Blight, as the speed that comes with their abilities is restricted: they have limited movement and turning. Skull Merchant retains complete control over her movement during the haste, and with it, there is hardly anything a survivor can do to outplay her.
Survivors are already slowed thanks to her strategic placement of drones.
Unlike Knight or Trapper, the haste doesn't help her after she stands still for a while to set something up; it passively helps her take down survivors for playing the game normally.
It also feels very bad to be on the receiving end of the haste as survivor when your teammates are the ones who are tracked; it feels like you are being punished for your teammates' mistakes.
The haste no longer has a good place in The Skull Merchant's kit, and in my opinion, should go to just be left with the Hindered effect.
thank you thank you
i am glad someone else talked about that part of her kit, it's simply uninteractive and boring to go against.
her getting random speed boosts all the time without any ounce of thought (just drop a drone at a loop) is a terrible design and I don't understand what's with bhvr's obsession with haste is lately.
she has an injure, a stealth on demand and hindered is more than enough chase power she doesn't need haste on top of all that
and if bhvr insists on giving her something they could bring back claw traps giving dissolution effect back but please delete the haste from her kit.

I kind of agree with your sentiments except that I do think complexity is usually a failed design. Modern bhvr killers require a ton of effort for very little reward (see singularity). I think they should make more complex killers more powerful
singularity is not low reward this is just something people who never give him a chance keep parroting.
he's an oppressive killer in chase and has one of the most unique and versatile gameplay.
-
this perk is literally fine no way people are malding about a perk that can maybe make a save easier but doesn't even gurantee it.
why would anyone use this perk instead of an actually useful exaustion perk to help in chase lol. let people have fun
-
they switched her abysmal 3 genning playstyle with an abysmal chase interaction.
she gets everything in her kit with barely any effort to use properly she's just braindead and not fun to face still.

The main thing I questions is they said that the Twins rework was moved because other priorities. Was anyone calling for this Trickster change? Was it more important?
a weak killer got buffed and stats propably confirmed he was and he was also rare and a nightmare for a large portion of the playerbase because of the limitations of a controller
bhvr saw an opportunity to make him feel better without reworking his power and took it why are we not happy about this?
also bhvr said the twins rework took a long time cuz it took more work than expected and gave us a date (early 2024)
-
i really hope so i love this killer a lot and it disappoints me that he's so rare.
and Many console players wanted to try him but couldn't so hopefully now they can.

Just one question:
WHO ASKED FOR TRICKSTER-BUFFS?
We discuss about Blight, Freddy, Pig, Trapper and Skull Merchant a lot.
2 of them were adressed, but why did they choose Trickster over Twins, Freddy and others?
why not? these are pretty much all number changes kinda similar to trapper's while all the others require a rework/getting one soon or have already gotten decent changes.
no reason to leave trickster rotting while they can do something about it.
this was a pleasant surprise honethsly i too would never have thought they would address him before all the others.
-
the killer is fine
you clearly haven't seen how miserable it is facing this killer when it had no actual punishment to a player miss playing.
and turrents are a complete joke.
for an m2 that counters pallets and windows that you don't need to work for
yes it needs some kind of counterplay.
xeno is pretty strong if you don't miss your tail attacks often.
-
knights guards are a buggy mess at the moment and really need a new look on how their pathing should be.
i agree with your points i love this guy and really wish to see him less addon dependent and less screwed over by buggy Ai.
tho i feel knight will be very low on the priority list for bhvr since they announced plans for changing freddy, billy, myers, twins.
but even if it was just number changes and bug fixes I'd be very thankful.
-
https://youtu.be/uKRb02HcTaU?si=scREK8EENy62SWz1
surprised no one said trickster
his lullaby/distant terror radius is a chef's kiss when it comes to horror vibe
dredge's is also equally amazing.
-
agreed
-
they'll nerf tombstone when his update comes in 10 years don't worry.
according to stats tombstone doesn't make myers have 80% killrates so bhvr thinks the addon is fine and doesn't require immediate change.

BHVR isn't the ones you have to convince, it's Sony.
could also be due to technical stuff, like an update releasing related to skull merchant and two maps somehow removes cosmetics from people's inventory (frosty eyes)
i have a feeling that if cross progression was a thing it would be a buggy mess where some stuff transfer and some not or smth like that.
cuz bhvr did cancel the switch cross progression due to "technical limitations" idf i remember correctly.
-
a rework for her to actually make her viable and fun would be appreciated.
otherwise i really want pig to have the saw theme for her menu and chase at some point.

this is actually very accurate description of how it feels going against these killers lol.

really hope they do i also think some number tweaks to his basekit would be really appreciated.

Yeah, Killers try to camp as much as possible.
I got camped in the Basement, because the Bar did not fill up in a somewhat reasonable pace to allow me to unhook myself while I still heard the Terror Radius because the Killer was camping upstairs.
Yay.
basement remains unaffected by this change and the devs still insist on keeping this dull mecanic in the game.

I tried the Alien a couple of times today and wow, its basically dead. The tail is easily dodged and the killer lost all fear factor and can be just made fun off as any other killer. A full priced DLC with the first strong and fun killer in a year, and then they are too afraid to actually go through with that and prioritise handholding survivors that much higher then anything else. A real disgrace.
they fixed a bug and reverted an unneeded change
no one complained about ptb xenomorph being weak or in need of buffs except some minor complaints about the turrents.
i don't understand what's is troubling you so much with xenomorph the only thing am seeing here is you admitting that you liked Survivors not being able to do anything against you. the tail didn't suddenly become easier to dodge but now it punishes you a little bit for missing as it should.
-
i would only agree with removing the exaustion downside it should not go back to 100% .
-
taunting will always be a thing in online pvp games in dbd it might just feel a bit more personal.
i used to get annoyed at these things at first but with time and experience i only grown to laugh at these silly interactions than be mad at them.
they won they want to rub it in a bit that's ok I'll just push them out and go next and I'll forget about it almost instantly.
so my advice is to just push them out don't let it get into your head and just focus on learning killer.

According to Nightlight, Nurse's kill rate really isn't so bad. And even if we don't consider Nightlight and go by official stats, Nurse was quite alright in high MMR. Apart from that, I could play a game of Nurse and I guarantee you, I'd perform pretty well. I'm not super good with her but slap on the brown addon and I get my downs.
Singularity on the other hand? I have put a good amount of hours into figuring out how to play this killer and won exactly 3 games. 2 of which had a disconnect (no bots). And that was around the time they buffed him, so survivors didn't know how to play around him in loops just yet. I could not figure out what to do at all. By now I know what do to do thanks to some streamers. Singularity becomes more of a threat, when you can constantly harass survivors and get the EMPs out of the way before the chase even starts.
But that is insanely difficult. This is the killer's skill floor and if you can't reach it, then you're gonna have a rough time. Nurse on the other hand is as simple as connect 2 dots (in theory). Invest a bit of time, build up the muscle memory and you are good to go against most survivors. A killer with a high skill floor is not necessarily a bad thing. But in Singularity's case you're either good or you suck. There is no in-between. And that is a problem. With other killers, you feel yourself constantly getting better. That is not the case with Singularity because what you do either works or it doesn't. There is no situation where you just barely miss or know immediately how to correct it next time. Basically, Singularity's learning curve is discontinuous.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3553310#Comment_3553310
Blight has very, very, very low skill floor. Seriously, it's not hard to use the power for mobility and free hits and play M1 killer in loops. His skill ceiling is incredibly high but it's not hard to use his power in a way, that benefits him.
Singularity, will slow himself down, if he can't use his power effectively. And as I explained above, that is pretty hard. I like hard killers (I main Hillbilly) but a killer with such a high skill floor, that is so weak when you don't reach it and only ok, once you do reach it is not great. A really good Singularity player will be able to get the EMPs out of the way before they begin a chase. So they slow down the survivors and ambush them with their power once they have the opportunity. But that requires a lot of work.
i feel like singularity's skill floor is being exaggerated a bit too much.
like sure the killer takes skill but personally after watching streamers play him for a bit i got a really good idea on how to play him and it's really not that hard it just requires really fast inputs.
u set up bods in key areas and when chasing a Survivor you use them to infect them or you can just ignore setting up and directly use them in chase which is fairly easy.
i guess if we're talking about someone who played him blindly without watching gameplay he would be very difficult to figure out?
-
good feature with unfortunate side effects
some awful people use it to play as worse as possible and not get flamed.
or target people while hiding behind anon mode and you can't prove it's the same person.
-
unique, fun to play with versatile playstyle
i don't think we really got a viable strategy killer until knight.
i just hope they improve him and his Ai a bit and fix some of his bugs.
-
i think movement speeds should remain something that is never tampered with aside from perks that require specific requirements.
killers literally have a power and chase perks for a reason.
if these powers and perks prove to be lacking then I'd rather fix that instead.
-
i heard demogorgon also can't look down and slinger and xenomorph having trouble connecting hits with Survivors.

Let’s imagine that BHVR can dedicate 100 manpower points per major update. A basic number tweak would consume, say, 5 manpower points. An entire rework would consume, say, 20 manpower points.
There are many things to change, but there are only 100 manpower points. With that in mind, basic number tweaks are likely all they can do for now. Are you forgetting that Skull Merchant and Borgo are getting reworks? That’s a ton of manpower points.
i understand but the number tweaks don't do anything but miss the point of why these addons/perks not used most of the time so either bhvr knows they don't do anything but do em anyway or they actually don't realize why these perks/addons are underperforming.
the time and manpower spent on making more macmillan variations absolutely no one asked for could've been used for making perk and addon reworks.

I already use bg player and for me personally, the perk did not even need any buff. But the thing is, that I am one of few people playing sabotages (and my issue is not with access to hooks, but with hook density - which is getting worse - thanks devs for new rancid map).
For flashlight/flashbang users, the buff is 100% fully meaningless (same as furtive chase buff). So yes, different exhaustion CD or higher speed or something like that would be genarally much more impactful.
yeah bg was a weird pick for a buff but if i would to give it any it'd be what i suggested cuz i think the speed boost is already enough for saves.
for sabo i feel like you have to be sneaky and do it when the killer is almost at the hook without them noticing to get any value which is good imo sabo shouldn't be too easy.
