Adepts were fixed. It’s in the patch notes
Unfortunately, they still don't unlock randomly.
-
It's probably region dependent. I see many big streamers from a certain area play killer at those time and they might as well just play kill your bots instead. At least the bots would try do a gen.

back in my day swf wasn't a word. we had to walk miles through the ormond snow just to find another survivor trying to work on generators. and it was uphills both ways!
Fun fact: that's what my parents had to do go to school. We young generations got it too easy!
-
I agree it should count.
Regardless, adepts are bugged right now. So, you're rolling the dice if it unlocks even if you complete the requirements. You might want to consider waiting for a bugfix to save yourself further frustration.
-
Did anybody wiggle off before you did (including flashlight/pallet) saves?

If I'm reading this right, any scream outside of a 19 meter radius from the killer is instead turned into a Loud Noise notification. Conversely, any scream within a 19 meter radius now uses positional audio.
Presumably, the various perks, powers and add-ons were handling this differently from one another.
If my reading is correct, I doubt these perks will work any different than they used to.
Apparently, it's not even consistent across perks. The scream is silent outside 19m, but certain perks get the notification and others don't.
-
They changed scream perks. Are you going to tell me there wasn't a lot of feedback and criticism about those? Oh, wait...

@[Deleted User] said:
Really strange choice. It makes me nervous when they mess with audio, especially when they're trying to fix things that aren't broken
They have this fixation on consistency, which I can see where they're coming from with. But too often they employ a scorched-earth approach when they apply it indiscriminately and to things nobody complained about.

Buyers remorse.
That was cold blooded.

Lots of good points have already been brought up.
The most puzzling aspect for me is how they came up with the 19m figure. There's nothing else in the game that has that range.

Lol why promote this?
So we can have less threads predicting the apocalypse because Eruption was nerfed and we can focus all our energies on the 200 daily posts about DH.
-
It should be relegated to interactions whete the survivor has agency on whether to remove the effect or not, like Victor and chains.

Anyone else waiting in anticipation for the sprint burst hate mob a month after dead hard is killed?
After next update, anyone who brings anything but DH will be tunneled into oblivion because of Blood Rush.
And anyone who brings DH will be tunneled because of DH.
And those who don't bring exhaustion will be tunneled because no exhaustion.
Perfect coverage.

I agree. It was so broken that for the first 4 years it didn't even work.

If killer isn't facing a wall you can run in front of them to start a chase and then away to escape chase over and over, this will help with evader points. If you have a friend with you alternate who runs in front and get "distraction" points which goes to altruism. As long as randoms don't just rush gens and immediately leave should have enough time to get enough to atleast safety pip.
A chase doesn't start if the killer is not moving.
I have never done the math at iri. So, I don't know if it's actually possible.
Benevolent is a lost cause.
Unbroken takes care of itself.
For Evader, if they have a TR, stay within 5m of the killer for 2m and a half.
Lightbringer is a little convoluted because it awards points also when others repair gens. Try to do a couple of gens solo and totems/gates. You can miss skill checks to get more repair recognition.
-
Well, of course. Players are still going to take the easiest path to victory. Especially, because nerfing gen speed buffs tunneling concurrently.
I don't know in what fantasy world those people live, when they parrot this nonsensical idea that players have some sort of benevolent honor code, that they would suddenly follow just because an inferior alternative is presented to them.
Nerfing gen speed to nerf tunneling is like saying nerf survivor run speed to nerf tunneling. Or, irl, saying that if you put broccoli and candies in front of a kid, the kid wouldn't go for the candies if you put the broccoli closer. It's just out of touch with reality.
But again, there's people who still haven't understood that survivors are already 3 gen'd if the killer protects one from the start. It's no surprise that there are some weird notions floating around that get credit anyway.
-
I agree. The Oni won while eating DH.
Conclusion: DH needs a buff.

And let killers skip the endgame. An afk husk stays behind, the killer gets no more points, and is taken to the results screen to get into the next match faster.
I'm all for both these suggestions. Anything to cut down unnecessary downtime is welcome. Those are also fair ideas, as they happen at moments in the game where they can't be abused to just throw and the husk does also give time to survivors who need to do endgame challenges.

I don’t agree that survivors are too fast, but I think it’s very reasonable to say that the age of the 110% killer should be over (with some obvious exceptions). Unless of course maps are standardised in size. Crossing huge maps as a 110 killer is painful and contributes to the three Gen strategy people like to moan about.
Also sometimes it seems like survivors are looping things so tightly that half their body disappears into the structure. I’ve definitely seen on Ormond survivors stepping on top of rocks as well.
The difference in map traversal between 110% vs 115% is like 2 or 3 sec. And that's if we're talking going from one end of Azarov to the other.
It's in looping that there's a stark contrast.
-
You can calculate the distance and catch-up time if SB is used right up in the killer's face.
However, that's quite frankly not an optimal play unless the survivors was just looping with 99'd exhaustion.
SB must be used early, in which case it could end the chase right there, or be a time sink that the killer can simply not avoid if they commit. And there's no playing around that, barring faking leaving chase. Good luck with that.
Or, it's used on unsafe gens to make it to a loop. And in that case, again, there's not much playing around that.
Do those buy you more or less time than DH? Hard to say. But if we're talking about lose-lose for the killer, you'll quickly find out DH is not the only offender, just the only scapegoat.
-
You need to censor gametag to avoid breaking forum rules.
You can only equip one instance of any specific add on. So, two BNPs is not possible.
It could definitely be a cheat, but I can't rule out a visual bug. It's dbd after all.
-
It's ok the first couple of times, then it just gets old very fast.
It's either just run around this pallet and he can't catch up, or he just cheap shots you out of nowhere and then you wait forever camping a pallet to see if he actually left or faked it.
And if everyone gets hooked, you know he's gonna be there.
It's overdone that I don't even get jumpscared when I run into him. It's just a snoozer.
-
There's no should. You let them go or you kill them as you wish, just don't drag out the match just for the sake of making it last as long as possible and no other purpose.
-

I wish I got to see Ormond and Crotus Penn. Felt like every game was Dead Dawg
Same. The other day my first 4 trials were on Dead Dawg. Then I closed the game and played shooters.
I wish they left maps out of events. Getting the same ones over and over is just boring out of this world.
-
Not a hack.
Don't blind a Legion in frenzy. You'll just cancel their cooldown. You can do it if they're already in fatigue, but they can easily dodge it.
You can also google 'forbidden Legion tech' to watch bad things that can happen with blinding.

@HugTechLover said:
I’m actually pretty certain it did get reduced. I’ve been noticing a lot of pallet-less spots that always used to have pallets.
I agree. There's a long pallet spawn upstairs, not sure how to describe it, it's a long metal structure on one side that gets low midway and a higher machine on the other side. That used to be a guaranteed spawn, but now I hardly remember to have seen a pallet in that spot for weeks.
In general, the map is in a weird spot balance wise in the way it's structured.
-
Backfill is by practical terms unlimited, regardless if killer or survivor. It's anyone who's in queue at that moment.
I think the worst instance I ever had was when I got a lobby of survivors all in the thousands hours, one leaves, I get an instant backfill and the player had 18h total playtime.
No matter how bad queues are, they should've never been matched against me as killer, even on my lowest mmr characters.
-
BHVR and the mods on here have nothing to do with Reddit. Completely different folks and not affiliated.
It was probably removed because you used the wrong flair.
-
+1.
-
Even if it activated after basekit endurance, you'd already be in deep wound. So, it would still be countered the same way.
To make it work, you'd have to make basekit bt work like MoM and not cause endurance, then have OTR kick in. And OTR should deactivate if you get healed.
-
The only thing unnecessary is the hindered effect. One shotting at full infection is already a powerful debuff that forces staying injured or going for a secondary objective that reveals your location.
The hindered is just power crept stuff and makes tunneling with him extremely easy and it simply wins chases for you.
For the rest, he's just buggy, like half the roster.
-
I don't know what the plot could be, but I look forward to the moment when this huge supernaturally-enhanced murderous creature plunges forward minaciously with bloody intent and they get stopped in their tracks by a meager piece of wood slapped on their head.
-
It's a black-or-white decision. It's dictated by the circumstances. The correct answer might be any one among:
- get healed and save the medkit for later, if there's no immediate pressure to repair gens;
- self heal because you'll give killer snowball at this moment if you're injured, but let others repair because you're behind on the objective;
- or, there's no time to heal at all, killer has too much pressure, just push gens.
-
Too much stuff in the lore for a single movie and a cohesive story. They'll probably keep it simple. Something like generic movie about people gettiing lost in the woods and waking up in a horror reality, then add to that some cult stuff to keep the door open for a possible sequel.
-
so looping a killer for 2-5 gens, healing, double pipping etc but getting facecamped after means mmr goes down, so worse teammates and harder games
Skill can be conceptualized in different ways. The one you pick determines the gameplay you're encouraging. Yours appears to be (and mine as well) knowledge of the game and proficiency in its various aspects.
On the other hand, BHVR values 'winning'. It's a result-oriented, individually-focused, goal-by-any-means-necessary view. It boils down to only you escape (kill), no matter how you achieve that (within the ruleset). It's a minimalist, ultra simplifying approach. It's not illogical per se, but it carries consequences that you're experiencing.
The main point is that they probably chose it because it makes their life easier, but not necessarily ours.
So, while you can be a team player and do all the best plays to maximize your team's chances to escape, but not necessarily your chances specifically, you can very well be classified as less 'skilled' than someone who's super selfish and throws their teammates under the bus in order to ensure their own survival. They win more than you do. They attain the game goal more than you do. Simple as.
What this does is to lower the skill-ceiling and compress players of different abilities in a smaller pool. The god-tier looper who makes also sound macro-level decision might very well be labeled as less skilled than the immersed gens-before-friends jockey who rushes the objective and gets out with Sole Survivor in their back pocket as plan B. The cracked killer who knows the ins and outs of their power, has amazing game sense, can pull off incredible skill shots, knows all the mind games in the book and goes for chases and hooks might very well be considered as 'skilled' as the guy who runs the strongest add-ons, bloodlusts their first down and facecamp with Deadlock to force an easy 3v1 that they can cap off with a final NOED kill if need be. They kill just the same amount, hence they win the same, hence they're equally 'skilled'.
That's what the devs have chosen for their game, which is within their purview, obviously. It certainly is really disappointing, as far as I'm concerned.

Eruption can be countered by waiting it out. Stop repairing until the person that is being chased is downed, the gen pops and you can keep repairing it. Hell with the new HUD you can even know when the non-obsession is being chased.
But let's be honest, no one is going to do that because it is "not fun" to do nothing until eruption pops, and that's actually pretty understandable.
And the exact same thing can be said about DH.
I hope you're trolling.

If the Knight defends a 3 gen with slowdown perks, it's either a loss in soloq or it takes forever. Even coordinated teams may not be able to break it depending of map rng. I imagine most people would lose any interest and would just move on to the next match.
This video explains and demonstrates everything if you're curious:

Killer's attempt to create a 1v3 early is similar in principle to how Survivors gather in Gen and act in groups of two or more. It's just going to be more efficient and Devs should try to balance the game with this in mind.
Multiple people on gens is actually less efficient, there's a speed penalty.
-
You can nerf DH into the ground for all I care, but kicking 3 gens like a bot and not chasing for more than 10 sec until the resources in the area are depleted and you'll get the down inevitably, it's a bit of a generous standard for playing 'good'. It makes the tutorial bot look like HAL 9000.
-
I put down 3 traps in the game, on my way to the other side of the map
I'm not denying that Trapper is a weak killer, or that gens can be done quickly. But here there's mostly a perception dissonance at work. You're running a full chase build on a territorial killer. Then, you waste time setting up traps that you won't be able to take advantage of because you're traversing the whole map. You can't conceivably imagine to have a fair shot at winning after undercutting yourself.
You're not playing your killer to his strengths. You have to expect to do poorly under those conditions. Because if that wasn't the case, then many issues would come together.
-
It must be Twins. Their perks didn't work, the power was bugged and literally all you had to do to stop was to hop in a locker. And I'm not sure it was already present in the PTB, but Elodie had a ear-piercing scream.
-
It's probably intentional, but if they don't want Nurses to track by sound, then hear damaging the player is not the way to do it.
-
Do you have crossplay disabled maybe?
-
It's a general bug. Select another challenge and play match, it doesn't matter if you complete it. Then you can go back to this one and it should be fixed.

90% is quite the exaggeration I believe, unless you mean not tunneling and camping crazily with holding back. Then maybe.
I do agree that killer is not in a terrible spot right now, though I would argue killer was the easiest before the solo queue buffs. Killers do still have frustrations to deal with, which need to be addressed, especially maps that are still terribly unbalanced. But so do survivors, especially in the form of tunneling and camping.
By holding back I mean not using what is available to a player in order to win, as I allude to in my whole post Tunneling and camping, for better or worse, are part of the game. And they're devastating in the current meta and not really difficult to perform against the teams encountered in public matches. If one is struggling under those conditions, then it's on them for not using what's available to them, not because the game handicaps killers.

It does feel like hit validation was quietly reverted to killer-sided, instead of server-sided.
It's not really reverted in the sense that it's never been a thing, at least not in the way it was presented to the community.
It's never worked to validate hits at high ping. The threshold they use for it, whatever it is, it's just too high. If I vpn'd to the other side of the world, all my hits stood and still would at 250 ping no problem. That has always been a thing since inception. I remind you that high-ranking devs are on record with the ludicrous statement that 150 is a pretty good ping. Which leads me to believe that the system is in place only to stop extreme lagswitchers.
The only situations where validation did or does exist were DH (doesn't look to be enabled anymore since the perk rework) and pallets. And the latter was heavily nerfed not even a couple of weeks after release (you could tell by m1s and also against any m2 that breaks pallets. It did validate initially, but now 9 out of 10 you get the stun score event and the pallet breaks stunless).

What page is this, time challenges? Previous or thos one?
It's the current level of the tome, one of the first survivor challenges.
If you want to play efficiently and not throw for the challenge, I suggest doing the other ones and just select this one in the end and forget you gave it on.
-
There's a mix of of stupid challenges for either side. Killer challenges might be slighlty easier because by design you can almost always rely on yourself to complete them. For survivor, there's very often something that requires the killer's or teammates' input.
-
Depends on the map on the killer. Cowshed and Borgo it will work.
Do it on other maps against anyone who isn't Pig, Legion, or Sadako and you probably killed your team.
-
I won't call it an us vs them post.
I'll just call it a Dunning-Kruger post.
Killer is objectively the easiest it's ever been, not just comparatively to the past, but also on an absolute scale. If you load into a match playing to win, then you'll win 90% of the time against pub teams. If you don't, you're either holding back, or you overestimate your game knowledge.
