Hit validation shouldn't work like that in the slightest

So explain to me how this is seen as a proper hit.

The Game that massive drop where you have to go up some stairs and then vault down to the bottom floor. I vaulted into set container or whatever it's called and got hit somehow halfway into the fall the killer by the way didn't even touch the stairs by the time I made it to the vault so explain how his screen counted that as a hit when I wasn't even near that window. With also none of our connections messing up.

Helps to have video proof. Otherwise it’s anyone’s guess what happened

  • My guess is latency

  • Latency + medium vault at a drop down. Drop down leaves the hitbox behind a bit and so do medium vaults. The combination of the two + potential latency on either side will lead to egregious hits.

  • It does feel like hit validation was quietly reverted to killer-sided, instead of server-sided.

  • How am I supposed to get video proof if it happens out of nowhere.

  • as someone who plays with a below 30 ping against killer with red ping on a regular basis, i can tell you that you absolutly right. the game feels so much different when anyone has a high ping.

thats how sadly DBD servers work buddy , the game takes priority on the killers end for the hits , the only thing that they gave us to counter laggy killers.. were pallet validation + the ping indicator for the killer which pretty much doesnt help at all other than tell you "hey the killer is about to hit someone with their long arms" still hurts that windows and pallets are sooo inconsistent because that will depend if the killer is lagging or not , feels awful making a vault 100% on your screen and other can see that 2 , but the killer gets the hit from miles away just because their "bad ping" or "vpn".

and seriously people need to stop defending those problems which "this will make survivor strong" , because thats just stupid , like how u are suppose to express your skill at looping when the game favors the other side for those important interactions , feels so bad when u have a solid 20 ms and somehow u can still get hit 2 meters aways from the window or pallet just because the killer is lagging and also the server taking side for them rather than being server sided so the game rejects the hit with fake blood screen if the killer weapon didnt hit the survivor on the server screen.

You’re supposed to record all of your matches all the time on the off chance that something like this happens. 😆 Sucky but BHVR has an ancient reporting system set up.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL who said wraith was melee? he uses his chakra to form invisible chakra blades, that's why it was a hit, this is no bug, get yourself together!

I feel your pain. That’s why most reports go unpunished for cheating and griefing unless you’re a streamer.

It's not really reverted in the sense that it's never been a thing, at least not in the way it was presented to the community.

It's never worked to validate hits at high ping. The threshold they use for it, whatever it is, it's just too high. If I vpn'd to the other side of the world, all my hits stood and still would at 250 ping no problem. That has always been a thing since inception. I remind you that high-ranking devs are on record with the ludicrous statement that 150 is a pretty good ping. Which leads me to believe that the system is in place only to stop extreme lagswitchers.

The only situations where validation did or does exist were DH (doesn't look to be enabled anymore since the perk rework) and pallets. And the latter was heavily nerfed not even a couple of weeks after release (you could tell by m1s and also against any m2 that breaks pallets. It did validate initially, but now 9 out of 10 you get the stun score event and the pallet breaks stunless).
