I play 99% soloQ and this is my everyday build: Kindred, Shoulder the Burden, Deja Vu, Balance Landing
Usually i only unhook with burden if my teammate is second stage and these are the usual outcomes:
- I get in chase first and I'm the first person on hook and the killer is tunneling me so i never get to use burden
- Another teammate is at the hook before I can unhook with burden and the unhooker dont use burden so i can't take a hookstage
- The killer is tunneling the person anyways because it's still the weakest link even he has to get hooked one more time
- The killer switching targets and is trying to tunnel me out of the game because I'am now the most vulnerable target
- Burden is doing its job and spreading the hookstages
So yes, Burden can be a very strong perk but the missing communication in soloQ makes it hard to use it.
Survivor in soloQ are usually pretty thankfully if you use Burden on them. This boosts morale and makes soloQ more bearable. For this reason alone I leave the perk in my everyday build.

Trust me I'm sure they'd love to have more local servers as well, but kinda hard to do when Amazon doesn't have any infrastructure like that in the entire very large country that Russia is iirc.
And why they're in European servers in particular, look up a population density map of Russia. You'll see that a lot of the country's population would make absolutely no sense to put on asian servers.
amazon gamelift supports hosting on own hardware as well. so BHVR could use own servers in russia.

How does doing those two make map pressure? I literally ignore those two, and makes the game chill and pretty easy. What am I missing? Ty!
leaving hard to patrol gens to the end creates map pressure for the killer. ignoring them, like you do, as killer is the best you can do against uncoordinated teams.
-
My soloQ teammates love to do this gen at first followed by the topfloor gen and take all the map pressure away from the killer.

so your suggestion is to...change the target winrate to 45%, which is below an actual perfect number?
so a soloQ survivor should win / escape 50% ot the time?

if they use slurs or anything they can still be reported though so it’s not like they are actually protected from punishment..

I want my team members to be able to judge whether I fit their skill level based on my steam profile
Do people actually do this? Based on what??
Ingamehours, screenshots of p100s, number of comments, the friendslist or just the language of reviews.
-
A cheater once left comments on my steam profile even though I had anon mode on. So the anon mode is only helpful against honest player.
Personally, I'm playing without anon mode, as I only play soloQ. I want my team members to be able to judge whether I fit their skill level based on my steam profile. However, I'm not a streamer and am not really a worthwhile target for harassment.
I think the anon mode leads to more lobby shopping than necessary because players lack the ability to assess other players.

Most frustrating thing is high ping players. But I don't blame the players, I blame BHVR for no servers in the middle east and south africa.
Second frustrating thing is MapRNG, huge dead zones in maps or useless "loops".
-
I wish they would try a bare bones mode without any perks, items, addons or offerings.
-
One thing i would like to add to edgarpoop's true words.
Being the weak link is not always tied to the looping skills of a player. Some maps have simply gigantic dead zones after the two filler pallets are gone with two or more generators in it. When you got hooked inside these zone and you or your teammates don't have special perks for that situation you get tunneled out or you are just trading hooks with your teammates until all are on deadhook.
So i blame unbalanced maps a lot for survivor frustration.

You can get banned? How does that even work?
If your click the survey link ingame your player id gets transmitted and when you say strong insulting things in the survey you can get banned for that.
Just in case anybody want's to vent in the survey.

The devs have never told us why they don't have ping limits, but it's not difficult to figure out. Setting ping limits means fewer people will play, which means less revenue $. It's good for BHVR's bottom line, but it comes at the expense of player experience. It's a tradeoff that BHVR are OK with because people generally aren't leaving the game due to laggy in-game experience. If enough people started leaving the game due to this issue, I think BHVR would change their stance pretty quickly.
You are absolutely right. Dev's create the game they want to play by themselves. Nobody sane would want to play with high ping or against high ping player.
So the only game the dev's are playing is the money game.

And, do what exactly?
to bleedout other killers of course.
-
i like that the player cloud id is used for the survey. by giving the wrong answers you can get banned now.
this survey statement is wrong:
BHVR use a 3rd party provider (surveymonkey) for the survey. the data is at least shared with surveymonkey. that would be ok if it would be correctly stated.
-
Theres one Amazon GameLift Location in Cape Town, South Africa and Lagos, Nigeria. Both would reduce the ping for people living on the African continent.
No idea why they are not used because Dead by Daylight use Amazon GameLift Servers everywhere else. (Source)
-
I think killer should have a small stagger too.

Most likely a VPN abuser that one
possible but i dose not matter. the ping limit is set by the devs. players play within the limits set by the devs.
rizzo told me mandy is a dev (because she has a dev tag), so mandy can tell us why the ping limit is 2000ms and nothing more sane like 300ms.
-
based on my gut feelings:
- If you bring the event offering as survivor and survive you get normal and event BP
- If you bring the event offering as survivor and die all event BP get lost and you only get your normal BP
- If you dont bring the event offering as survivor it dose not matter if you die, you always get the event and normal BP
no idea whats going on with killers and BP.
-
This poor fella had to play with +500ms ping.
-
South africa has also a amazon gaming server location that is not used.

The issue with such a limitation is players in South America and in Asia are already very far from the nearest servers. Plus those in Australia are for some reason being placed in different servers constantly, something they cannot control either.
There is a amazon gaming server location in south america. It's due company greed that it is not used and players from these region have to suffer.
There is a amazon gaming server location in the middle east. It's due company greed that it is not used and players from these region have to suffer.
Haven't checked out the problems of the asian country's that have problems with ping but my guess would be it will come down to company greed.

I asked for killrates about a month ago. Mandy told us that the killrates haven't changed meaningfull. So there are still around 60% i guess.
I mean, they could show us the new unchanged numbers but where is the fun in that. Unnecessary building up conspiracy theories about killrates is much better. keeps the mind alive.
-
I like the new loopable elements. Had a lot of fun against a good billy trying out how curveable the new elements are.
-
Same on survivor if you die. Possible might work on suvivor if you a survivor
-
One factor that should not be forgotten is that due to the long 2vs8 where there were no pips, many are still trying to complete their iri1 in the last few days. That's why many people are currently very frustrated.
-
the cheater was banned in less than 7 hours
-
Holding shift or not holding shift change the hitbox of the pallet / survivor somehow.
-
That would be awesome! Starting the game feels like 3 to 4 business days.

Idk. It's sounds like bhvr is banning the wrong people if there are so many hackers these days. I just casually scrolled down fhd forum and seen at least 5 posts about hackers. Have fun in the fog lol
it was even more posts, at one point the forum guy just removed every new post.
-
Is the game +18 in every region?
-
Nothing wrong with pushing out skins like crazy, but you have to keep people happy or they just leave the game and no longer buy skins for they favorite characters.
-
Remember, Peanits tried to investigate whats up with the incentives and they moved him to another position so he can't investigate any more. 🤯
-
yes you are right. no idea why its not listed in the wiki
-
just faced another cheater nurse. he is also livestreaming his botting on twitch.
Love how well the war against cheater goes.
-
i love how something that dont affect Mandy by herself never gets any response by her.
-
That only happen when you have triple the amount of average mmr and the game trys to give the killer a fair chance.
Just kidding, haven't seen that a long time ago. Strange.
-
There is a lot of lobby dodging going on on EU West servers right now for both roles. Everytime I get into a lobby at least one person is already ready, or suvivors / killers are missing. That combined with a "low" player count is deadly for propper matchmaking.
Pretty sure that was one of that lobbies.

It's still 0% both roles, my region europe frankfurt servers
This. 0% on both on eu west.
Also several minutes wait time for survivor just to get into a backfill lobby.

They exist because at least one person thought it was a good idea.

The issue is I'm on the window, not him. It should have at least let me medium vault there.
you are absolutely right, the devs should add at least a visual indicator or change the window blocking hitbox to something that is visually fitting
-
The wraith used his hitbox to block the vault. It's not a bug but just game design in my eyes.
-
If you make it to a locker, because you are not the first one getting hooked, you don't get a matchmaking ban.
-
In my mmr range and region i barely see 25% incentives as a survivor. Not enough incentive to get me to play more than one game. And that's only because I've already started DBD.
-
BHVR Mandy says the killrates have not changed in a meaningful way. How much trust one can place in this statement is up to each individual.
-
@I_Cant_Loop said:
So we can get auto-detection and penalties for someone being AFK, but it's technically impossible to auto-detect any sort of cheating like moving faster than normal without perks, teleporting around the map, infinite uses of perks that should be limited use, etc. and we must require a complicated and cumbersome reporting system with video evidence to deal with cheating 🙄
It's even worse, if you face one of these instant hook teleport to basement cheater bots you get a DC penalty because you did nothing the whole match.
I guess that's how you tell your playerbase how much you care about them.
-
I guess these are the server checks BHVR was talking about they will implement against cheaters. But it's just bugged, because of tradition and bans the wrong person.

There is nothing worse than losing against someone because he just has bad internet.

This are the amazon gamelift locations:
I see servers in africa, middle east and canada. No idea why BHVR don't use this locations.
