The main problem is, for survivors only escapes count as win condition. As long survivor have to fear MMR loss people will hide.

Don't forget to mention Mr TatorHead. He makes awesome loop guides on youtube:

Just remember that each person is responsible for his or her own karma.

No idea what the true work ethics are at BHVR but it feels like criticism isn't part of the work environment.
As a customer it is feels like the outcome of some changes are driven by the goal to simply change something and not the goal to find the best possible solution.

killrate doesnt equal to win rate and win rate is very unreliable because survivors give up at the start or killer plays friendly and lets 4 man escape
you cant talk over win rate before talking over killrate because you have to kill survivor to win.
-
What killrate for your killer games would be fair?
-
Rubber banding + teleports too

I dont understand why you get automaticly transfered into the void when you open a portal.

theoretically, matchmaking is based solely on a hidden Rating (MMR) which is only influenced by escapes via gate and deaths (or for killers: Killed/escaped survs; hatch escape is neutral) so matchmaking wouldnt be based in playtime directly - you can have higher skill Level with less Hours played easily. As for completely new accounts: Their MMR needs to be calculated First and may drastically change between the First Matches
All that said: the current implemention of the MMR isnt hard set, you still get matches where the skill Levels vary to make sure Lobby times armer top long and especially lobbies where Players leave need to be refilled and there the MMR will be matched more loosely.
Also, and thats just me personal opinion, this calculation of skill Level isnt really appropriate, as perks, RNG, and plenty of other factors play a huge role in how a match will play out.
yes that is how the community thinks how the technical side works (i'm the 5000 hour guy from my example).
my point is mr cote should explain it and then maybe it get changed when he finds out how wrong the community thinks he is like it happened before.
-
If he read the forum, maybe he can explain how players with 130 hours get matched with 5000+ hour players in the same survivor lobby.
-
One factor is, people in different regions have different problems.
-
Yesterday i played against a comp player from south africa. That means he has a base ping of 200ms just because of his location. He could barley get two hooks in the whole match because whats on his screen didn't match up what on everyone else screen. It feels like currently your ping gets multiplied by at least a factor of 3 or 4 in the way how the match feels like.
And here just a small unrelated reminder how far it is from south africa to EU west server and why BHVR should think about a solution for players that a not close to an amazon gaming location.
-
Its like everyone plays with 300+ ping.
-
Why is nobody of the dev's commenting why this happens and how the player thinks it could change? Where are all the community managers to offer words of encouragement?
For me it looks like nobody at BHVR takes pride in their work anymore and the gamers have to suffer because of it.
-
All the changes and he will still be unfun to face as killer. He was / is not too strong, he is just unfun in his current form.
-
I just wanted to comment on one of the server problem threads that I saw since the last update and guess what.
yours is the only one remaining. the rest seem to have vanished into censorship somehow.

Darkness Revealed is the only aura reading perk in her build and, judging by the build and offering, it's a classic M1tress that wants to respect pallets and throw a hatchet right into you.
All in all, this is one of the worst possible arguments against Distortion nerf
One person with old Distortion would be enough to take out the whole pressure of that Huntress build.
With the new Distortion the Huntress knows exactly where everyone is every time and you can't even use OO against her because she is undetectable all the time.
Old Distortion was the only counter to this, in my opinion, broken Huntress build. So it's a strong argument against the Distortion nerf.
-
would someone from bhvr please explain how to counter this build / map offering in soloQ with the recent distortion nerf?
-
no idea why nobody wants to play survivor anymore.

I'm not having much fun with dbd at the moment.
-
it would be easy to implement basic server checks that would prevent a lot of the cheating.
they don't even have to be live checks. the current instant kill bot wave could be easily stopped by basic sanity checks if an account wins to many games to fast.
-
- dbd is full of cheaters that are live streaming and it takes bhvr two weeks to review videos that are 20 seconds long showing flying survivors
- a ultra high ping massivly increase your chance of winning as killer
- sexuall harassment (humping) is not and offence
-
Currently it takes over two weeks for BHVR to review vidoes of cheater.
-
Has anyone noticed that some killers start walking / moving before the pickup / hooking animation has ended. Lag, cheats or crapy net code?
Same for survivor and unhooks that are way to fast.
-
A big problem is lobby dodging on both sides and how the algorithm is fill the open player spots.
Usually i get matched with players (killers and survivor) around 3.000 hours and they fit my personal skill level.
But when someone dodge a lobby, players down to 500 hours will take the open spot and they are way out of the skill level of the rest.i can only imagine how extreme of a meat grinder it is in the range of 500 - 1500 hours for soloQ that get put into that matches.
there should be an option to increase lobby search time to find better suited teammates / killer, or faster lobby search times for a less accurate matchmaking.
-
- remove tentacle dragging
- add a delay based on the killer ping to the tentacle. it's sad when you get hit before the animation even starts
-
My guess is there is no matchmaking in chaos shuffle?
-
5 stack is for an endgame build not for a regular match
-
Guess the dark mist is currently busy grabbing powerful new victims
-
I like the 200% bonus.
-
The only annoying killer is Bubba. He is completely silent until he revs his chainsaw and then you go down. He proxy camps the hook and you go down and the person you are unhooking goes down.
I'm fine with the rest.
-
As a soloQ suvivor i would have changed only the following things:
- suvivors could destroy the drones but it takes 4 times as long as disable them. so survivors can choose between disable the drone short time and completly destroy them depending on the situation.
- no more overlapping drones aka, spamming the area
- base SM can no more recall drones if the is outside the drone radius. with an add on this feature can be re enabled.
rest could stay untouched.
-
His tail is awful to play with. His tail is awful to play against. On neither site the visual matches the actual hitbox.
-
Zanshin Tactics kills all mindgames. Whoever thought this is a good idea has no idea how a chase and a mindgame works.
-
The bump in player numbers on release day on steam was underwhelming.
That's probably also the feeling that most players have about this DLC.
-
I have the feeling the reduced the server tickrate a while ago and thats why even you and the killer has good ping the game game feels laggy.
-
No kill rates for the other killers?
-
I think the combination of map changes from mind game able loops to pallet loops and the devs aiming for 60% plus killrate with killer buffs makes soloQ very oppressive lately.
These changes make killers proportionally stronger towards the endgame while survivors have no ingame mechanics to turn the game back to their side.
The MMR system, which is not designed for asymmetric games and especially the lobby dodging on both sides, reinforces this effect even more.
For my part, I'm playing less and less. But the number of players doesn't reflect my feelings. That's why BHVR's course won't change.
Since it seems to be important to some people how many hours you have in order to weight your opinion, here are my Steam DBD hours (95% soloQ):
-
If you watch Hens, JRM or Ayrun you see they also can't drop the pallets at random times. Or the killer hits you, gets teleported to your side and then gets stunned.
It's simply a server issue.
-
They should rename it to "Block friend invites" because thats all it dose.
-
He is fairly new, give it some time, killers have to learn him first.
-
Do you have by any chance a memory shard challenge activated? These are bugged and create moving sounds around the map.
-
Still happening!
Map: Greenville Square (Withered Isle)
Watch "Dead by Daylight - Shard below the surface" on Streamable. -
I'm pretty sure they lowered the server tickrate with the xeno update.
Because of the lower tickrate a lot of the time critical actions fail or have strange outcomes even if all player have perfectly fine ping.
For example the wesker dash - jump into the locker bug.
-
Can we have 400% back please?
-
DBD is not a +18 game in most of the world.
-
Have seen p100 with less than 800 hours. I play mostly around p30 or less and have 4500 hours in soloQ.
Prestige level is not a good indicator of skill.
-
Yes they can if you are watched by a scout.
-
Got my first +rep's since years.
