I do tend to do that.. But whenever I attempt to do something like that, the next thing I know is a killer following scratch marks 24/7 and not even thinking about where I could go..
For example, I do gain some distance, hide behind the building or hill for a while to make the killer think that I'm running around it. Sounds like a good strategy, right? Wrong, that's the most predictable move, and so I stay still for a little while to confuse them. The next thing I know is that the killer has been holding W aswell, completely countering my strategy out of pure accident, and this does happen everytime. Every single match.
So, I think I'm gonna stick to predropping. The play is guaranteed and not a fifty-fifty gamble just because I am being unlucky.

There aren't as many pallets and window vaults as there have used to be, and generators do take more time than back then. That alone means that you're dissatisfied with how things are now, and would've probably stopped playing if you would've experienced how were things years ago.
Maps are getting smaller aswell, but that's just a little detail..

That is definitely one of the main problems this game faces; Competitive players who can't handle losing, having casual playerbase getting the short end of the stick in the end.. Unfortunately.
The desire to win is so strong that they're fine with tunneling, camping, using all sorts of META perks, add-ons, killers, and offerings just to increase the odds of winning, and then truly focusing on taking one survivor out of the match ASAP just to win. They don't even enjoy the game given how frustrated they get when the survivor outplays them and they leave the match..
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3544420#Comment_3544420
I wouldn't call them overnerfed, but survivors are certainly getting nerfed throughout the years. Even if I consider the killer nerfs overall, survivors were nerfed more drastically, affecting their playstyle a lot more than the killer's, and all of that just because SWF exists and they can use VOIP. If it weren't for SWF, survivors wouldn't have been in a need for nerfs for years straight.
The game design has changed a lot, as from what the community has voted for, chases are fun.. Hiding isn't, and so they're actually appealing towards the majority of the playerbase by designing more and more killers with oppressive chasing power rather than the killers to detect you, like Dr. Herman with his shocks to make you scream and reveal your location. The game got brighter, and all of that.. Partly because of cross-play getting involved, because consoles were having issues handling the game without constantly crashing, at least from what I have read back then and do remember.
10 seconds extra for a gen is hardly anything when you can spread out across gens.

Whats that even supposed to mean.

Blame that really on survivors being overnerfed. There is literally nothing survivors can do except hold W. Half of the killers forces all pallets and stealth to be non-existent or causes them to be totally ineffective.
Over nerfed? Hardly the case with how maps are just large and filled with pallets.
-
Slinger. The longest waiting non-licensed character to get one.

I think the problem there is the mentality. Killers expect to win all of their games and as long as there is killers that do that such as the above, then it kinda spoils the player. Why play a more balanced killer and win a little more than most of your games so the survivor has a chance to win when you can play Blight, Nurse, and others and win practically all of your games???
Too bad there is not a survivor you can pick and just load in and open the gate every time. It would really be boring for killers if they could never win against said survivor.
More like I would like to actually have decent chases where the survivor actually does something skillful and not hold W and pre drop basically refusing to actually interact with the killer. I know some killers don't allow for that but I've seen people pre drop against TRAPPER of all killers.
-
@I_CAME said:
People still pretending like Blight's only issue is his addons. I don't even think the guy with the 1500 win streak uses his best addons. How much longer are we going to let this ridiculous killer continue to exist in his current form?
The guy with the winstreak uses hyper tunneling, slugging, full slowdown and is on a region where the average skill of the survivors is bad.
-
Well blame bhvr for making unrewarding chases for lower tier killers. Im sure I would love to play someone weaker like slinger or trapper but when I'm 110 on a large map or a map with large gen spread then it de-centivizes me to chase and camp/tunnel or makes me go to play a stronger killer.

TCM actually losing players at alarming rate.
At launch it had 17k peak players count.
Now only after a month, TCM has 5,6k peak players count, and it can go below 3k at certain times.
The biggest killer was that they disabled crossplay, and the game has 0 security, so any cheating is possible, devs don't have any server validation/check implemented
I mean thats just steam charts and where steam players can only match with each other so people are obviously gonna leave when there's a cheating epidemic. I've seen the game and when crossplay wasn't a thing I would see WAY more lobbies filled with xbox and play station people than PC.

OoO was the best tracking perk and got gutted.
Why should killer side be spared?
OoO was genuinely OP against killers that have built in stealth or hell if people actually use oblivious perks/addons.

Calm spirit.

Making blight 4.4 wont do a single thing.

I understand your frustration but I kinda feel posting about it is a bad idea because doing so encourages more players to look it up and try it.
That would have been the case when the internet didn't exist. With it existing now it spreads like wild fire so trying to keep an exploit like that hidden is impossible given how it became very wide spread in less than a day.
-
Honestly im less surprised of the mmr not working and more surprised you found a P100 TRAPPER of all things.
-
If chasing actually felt rewarding to the point where I don't have to resort to camping or tunneling first hook without 4 slowdown.
-
Pre nerf Self heal efficiency was NOT a solution to bring it more in line with SWF. And as for wesker kill stats.... its not like even if it was 80% it would be legit anyway. The amount of times I see people just give up first hook against wesker is insane because he is/was the most played killer but might be falling behind xeno a small bit. I've even seen people admit to "I will kermit first hook if I get xeno or wesker".
-
Funny enough my friend had a game with a hacker not too long ago and despite a legacy dwight being in the lobby it wasn't him.
-
I get its a way to prevent the match from going on forever with the last survivor (which clearly is not the case as they could just start EGC after the 2nd to last survivor is considered dead). But the way I see it and the way a decent amount of people will see it is that the hatch is just a pity gate at this point.
-
You don't get it bro if you want the entire chapter in a single purchase you HAVE to spend the extra $5 for a skin you dont possible want.... At least with both the resident evil chapters you got a 2nd survivor. And before I hear anyone saying "you could just buy 1000 auric cells" well yeah but its so inconvenient on how I HAVE to go in game go to their store get the steam page open etc.
-
Drop pallet if he tries to uncloak fake and spam vault. Same if hes behind you and you're at a window.
-
People think trapper sack is good? Who in the name of dwight would run an addon that makes you unable to pickup traps for the small upside of having all traps upon spawning into the trial? Also yeah when all the maps left that are decent for trapper get reworked to either be so bright or little to no grass then it kind of makes the killer worse and worse.
-
You dont make footstep sound while crouching and the footsteps while walking is already so absurdly low that it's not the reason you're getting caught.
-
@TerraEsram said:
Lot of your idea are just worst perk than some already existing
Dunno but, if you want so much that perks can't stack, all perks have to be rework, not only haste and for survivor
All gen speed of regression have to lost the stackable effect
All speed perks from survivor or killer have to lost the stackable effect
It's that what you want? Or it's only, again, only one side ?
Honestly better than the unconditional 3% speed boost.
-
It was a VERY nice change contrary to what some people think. Basekit bt, making m1's more viable (at the time) and removing the god awful unhealthy DH for distance. But now sadly we got MFT which is a perk that reduces mind game potential and makes W holding more viable for simply... getting injured oh yeah and I guess you can't use lithe or sprint burst with it.

There's no secret.
The killer is overtuned as hell.
Eh not really.
-
An actual scythe.
-
Probably the classic "low useage = buff" All though the torch could be funny.
-
Its not nerfed. Its bugged to go slower somehow when they reverted the changes to fast vaults to prevent the same situation from happening vice versa if they only reverted male vaults. Funny how in the end males still end up vaulting further.
-
Not like MMR worked that well to begin with.

what ever you say chief 👍️
I mean it took me 20 seconds from wall to wall in both cardinal direction on dead dawg meanwhile on nostromo it was 20/24 so there's literally no denying that nostromo is bigger

Brother just because you can cross the map a bit faster doesn't mean its smaller. If you actually look at the shape of the maps, the Saloon is more square shaped rather than rectangular which is why you can cross it faster.
Also the Shattered Square is apart of the Decimated Borgo realm. The Nostromo is apart of Dvarka Deepwood, which is the same realm as Toba Landing.
I mean even on the short way it still took the same amount of time as dead dawg. So by logic it is not smaller.
-
And from my own tests i cross dead dawg faster than nostromo. So something aint adding up on the wiki. Given how on the wiki its under the same realm as borgo which it's not if it has an offering.

If explaining something = emotional breakdown then the internet is truly doomed.

Tell me you can't do math without telling me you can't do math LOL.
"Gain a stack-able 5% Cool-down reduction on successful attacks per Token" It's a percentage so the effect is bigger. 😉
8 stacks = 40% cooldown reduction. 2.7 (current weapon hit cd) x 0.6 = 1.62. The old hit cooldown with 9 stacks of STBFL if it was possible (which effectively what new hit cd is)? 3 x 0.55 = 1.65. That 0.03 is surely doing a lot even then the 0.18 from just the comparison of old hit CD compared to new isn't getting you any more hits than before.

Why look at facts when you just can say "It is most definitely not."...
I've done my own testing... 24 seconds length wide nostromo 20 seconds width wise. Lets see dead dawg which is usually agreed upon is a small map... 20/20 both maps wall to wall on a 115 killer. Nostromo definitely is not the smallest map in the game. Or better yet in blight rushes i can cross dead dawg both sides in 3 rushes meanwhile nostromo requires 5 length and 4 width base kit.
But lets be real given that nostromo gen spread is basically on the walls of the map it more than makes up for its "small size".
-
@Emoba said:
No. Nostromo is one of the smallest maps in the game.
It is most definitely not.

@Venusa said:
STBFL hasn't been adjusted to match the 6.1.0. update and it's been very over-tuned with full stacks since then but nobody wants to admit it out of fear LOL.
Oh no the 9 stacks of STBFL is too stronk.
-
Ultimate weapon. This just trumps every other tracking perk currently in DBD (except for maybe Floods of Pain). The power creep is so high that it even beats bbq for how much more available it is and harder to dodge. To sum it up.... its like playing doctor without actually having to play doctor.
-
@Xernoton said:

But they also manage to break you out of your power, dodge in ways that don't allow you to correct the aim and drop pallets at the right time. This means it is definitely possible to delay this killer in chase.
By frame perfect it means they can dodge stuff like linger and no mind games unless its a pallet or window where you can walk .2 meter sand they will insta vault.
-
@Xernoton said:
Aight. Because taking this killer's anti loop away using flame turrets is not an option. As is mind gaming, juking, learning where to run them etc.
The moment when bots can counter this killer perfectly fine but real players start screaming: "It's pay to win!" is the moment where you can no longer deny the massive skill issue on display.
Tbf the bots have FRAME perfect reactions

also, what do you mean by someone got found by it?
They're implying you're complaining about the perk as you were the third person while 2 of your SWF buddies were slugged while the 4th was already sacrificed.
-
I mean I see people complaining about xeno but I've seen people able to do extremely well with constant gen pressure and good turret placements. People are just complaining that it's another pub stomp killer which most killers are already.
-
@Melinko said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3529821#Comment_3529821
Don't expect instant, but when the killer can ignore the turret and get downs while running a loop, that is a problem.
The xeno can stay under constant fire for around 2 seconds without being taken out of power. If the xeno kept on going in range for 1 second then backing off then they got time to reduce the progress to remove their runner mode.
-
@PotatoPotahto said:
Ahaha
At this point I'm sooooo curious, how the hell BHVR manages to break so much unrelated stuff with each update
Well they did touch up on the distance fog in both dead dawg and ormond to be thicker. How that would correlate to a door not spawning there? idk.
-
I mean yeah xeno is just better nemesis with less thinking because no 3 hit chases and actually has map mobility.
-
That wesker is experiencing what I have for the longest time.

Last 10 matches (all against Xeno..what a shock) and it's been the same thing. Running higher add-ons that make the turrets almost useless against them. I watched one stay in crawler while on fire and just down a person at a loop with the tail.
If the turrets are supposed to be the defense for the survivors, they need to re-think what they've done with the add-ons that make them ineffective. They already made them more cumbersome to deal with then the EMPs which is a good thing, but then adding to it by giving add-ons against them was a bad move.
You do realize that the turrets don't instantly get the xeno out of runner mode right? Its fast but not instant.
