Thanks for the video – genuinely. But this is exactly what I was referring to.
The footage starts 30 seconds before the first crow spawns. That’s… exactly the part that tells us nothing.Surely it’s not too much to ask for footage that starts 2 full minutes (120 seconds) before the first crow?
You know – the part that would actually show what led to the warning?Come on now. If the AFK system is so terribly flawed, I’m sure a full-length clip should be easy to produce.
Right? 😏Yikes. There's actually the full game footage in the yt comments
-
The punishment system needs to be deleted entirely. Not being able to kobe can stay BUT only for early trial (time/gens done/killer hooks or whatever).
-
And it will only get worse with the anniversary event as usual. It's a good time to NOT play DBD.

I agree. I find it ridiculous that the ability to take a chance at unhooking yourself is removed. Because now you need to keep bringing luck offerings/perks. It would've been better if it was on a time limit instead of being the whole game. So like, you'll be unable to take your attempts within the first five minutes of the match or something like that.
Same goes for the afk system. Completely went nuts with it instead of simply fixing 2v1 scenario where the survivors just stall.
-
Should have just made early game hook suicides impossible instead of this whole contrived system.
-
If two people are left and one goes down, killer can mori now yes.
-
Sadly I played a lot of Billy before 2020 so it puts him in least played killers
-
20 matches of no disconnecting to go back to 0 points
-
Why do killers bring map offerings every match?
They bring Midwich and they also love Haddonfield soo much. I think they should get rid of map offerings tbh and also rework maps and make more big just so it can be balanced. They bring map offerings just so they can win the game and make their matches easier and I think they should ban map offerings and also rework some of the maps. And before people want to comment and say just bring sacrificial ward but that’s not my point. I shouldn’t have to bring sacrificial ward every match just so I can feel safe why don’t they just ban map offerings just so sacrificial ward wouldn’t exist.
-
At the same time every survivor in DBD is apparently bad at the game but killers need to use the tunneling at 5 gens comp strat to win. Uh huh

There is a lot of complaining about the New AFK Crows, but it doesn't seem like anyone knows how they actually work, so here are my notes that I've collected so far. This information is good for the sake of discussion, so people can argue if some of the rules feel unfair:
Rules for AFK Crows...
1) 10 second grace period for not doing objectives
2) At 100% AFK point speed = 1/2/3 crows at 60/75/90 seconds
3) At 50% AFK point speed = 1/2/3 crows at 120/150/180 seconds
4) Not doing any objectives and not moving = AFK points happen at 100% speed
5) Being near the killer = AFK points happen at 50% speed
6) Moving (walking back and forth in a line works, because the distance threshold isn't big) = AFK points happen at 50% speed
7) Being in chase a few seconds = removes all crows
8) Repairing a generator for 12/13/15 seconds = removes 1/2/3 crows
9) Repairing a generator when it reaches 100%, regardless of seconds spent repairing = removes all crows
10) Healing a survivor for 12 seconds = removes all crows
11) Healing a survivor when it reaches 100% of a health state, regardless of seconds spent healing = removes all crows
12) Going into the dying state = removes all crows
13) Breaking a totem = removes all crows
14) Unhooking a survivor = does not remove crows!
15) Looking through a Springtrap camera for a few seconds (maybe 12 seconds?) = removes all crows!16) Opening a chest when it reaches 100% progress, regardless of seconds spent opening a chest = removes all crows
17) Hatch spawns or End Game Collapse is triggered = removes all crows
Things I still haven't figure out:
18) Potential grace period for being unhooked?
19) Potential grace period for being healed one health state after being unhooked?
20) Potential grace period for unhooking a survivor?
21) Healing a survivor from deep wounds to injured, regardless of seconds = removes all crows???
22) Healing a survivor from dying to injured, regardless of seconds = removes all crows???23) What happens with other killer powers? Does interacting with every killer power remove crows? If I disarm a Trapper trap, does that remove crows?
24) Do flashlight saves, flashbang saves, and pallet saves remove crows?
Concerns about AFK crows:
25) The distance threshold for moving (Rule 5) should be much larger. If survivors want to run long distances to get to a generator, or find totems, or whatever, then give them the 50% AFK point speed. But if they're literally running back and forth in a line, in a corner of map, they should still have a 100% AFK point speed.
26) Looking through a Springtrap camera (Rule 14) shouldn't remove all crows. It's too easy to bypass the AFK crows when Springtrap is the killer.
27) If you start a game, and want to run all the way across the map to repair a generator, you can easily do that because you'll be at 50% AFK point speed.28) Being able to remove all crows by opening a chest, seems questionable? If the killer doesn't have the Human Greed perk, do survivors really need to be opening chests?
29) If only two survivors are alive, and one of the survivors is in the dying state, the other survivor maybe should have their AFK point speed paused. Otherwise, killers might be further encouragers to slug for the 4k, hoping the last survivor will get AFK crows before the slugged survivor bleeds out.
30) Hex totems might be an issue, as some survivors might legitimately need over 2 minutes to find a totem. Hex totems might need to always show their aura to survivors in at least a 16 meter radius, or they might need to be loud like boons, or maybe something else might need to happen, to reduce the maximum time survivors need to find a hex totem. Also, this aura reveal might need to be immune to the blindness status effect.
31) Finding generators might be an issue at some MMR levels, as some survivors might legitimately need over 2 minutes to find a generator, especially if the generator is indoors and might not easily be viewable at far distances. Maybe if the survivor has been moving a large distance for 40 seconds, the closest 3 generators can be aura revealed, and this aura reveal is immune to blindness? An alternate trigger might be a certain AFK threshold (i.e. the survivor has 3 generator auras revealed when they reach 2/3 the AFK points needed for the first crow).
32) Are there any other times where AFK points should be paused? Oni during blood rush? Myers during (non-infinite) Tier 3? Haunted grounds during the 60 seconds of exposed? Are survivors expected to repair generators during these times?
33) I'm worried the PTB AFK Crows are just going to be a knowledge check, where people that know how to loophole the system will be able to excessively hide, and the people that don't know how to loophole the system will get AFK crows.
34) If a survivor is injured with Self Care, can they move around the corner of the map for 120-150 seconds, heal for 12 seconds, move around the corner of the map for 120-150 seconds, heal for 12 seconds, move around the corner of the map for 120-150 seconds, heal for 12 seconds, move around the corner of the map for 120-150 seconds, heal for 10 seconds (hitting 100% of the healing state resets AFK crows), move around the corner of the map for 120-150 seconds, open a chest, and move around the corner of the map for 120-150 seconds? And if blessing totems resets AFK crows (I forgot to check before the PTB closed), can a survivor just bless a totem every 120 seconds, to have an infinite way to reset AFK crows that doesn't alert the killer?
35) When totems or Jigsaw boxes are interrupted by a scream, can the survivor have a grace period to continue the interaction? Because it would be extra unfun to get interrupted by a scream AND get AFK crows because the survivor didn't complete the interaction. Because if Jigsaw boxes had a grace period, then the AFK crow rules could be "Completing a Jigsaw box search resets AFK points". But if screaming is going to interrupt Jigsaw boxes, then the AFK crow rule might need to be "Searching a Jigsaw box for 12 seconds resets AFK points".
36) Sadako tapes and TVs are more complicated. Turning off a TV probably shouldn't reset AFK points. But if inserting a tape always removed AFK points, then someone could just run tapes over and over, to excessively hide. Maybe the AFK crow rule could be "If a survivor inserts a tape, and it removes at least 2 stacks, reset AFK points"? Would that be too confusing, or would it be expected that survivors wouldn't normally inset a tape unless they had at least 2 stacks?
37) Victor will be able to start chases next patch, and I’m assuming this is so Victor can reset AFK points. This is a huge nerf for Victor, and it would be much better if being within a certain distance of Victor reset AFK crows, so that he wouldn’t need to start chases. Victor relies on not having chase music so he can avoid pallet stuns, because he can currently hear if a survivor ran past an undropped pallet, or if they stopped running right after the undropped pallet. Remember that Victor getting pallet stunned is much more punishing that of any other killer got pallet stunned, because it completely removes Victor, and places Victor on a long cooldown, and Charlotte is often somewhere far away at that point and has wasted a bunch of time. Twins are easy has a really low pick rate, and we don’t need to make it worse, by removing Victor’s ability to avoid pallet stuns.
38) Should AFK points be paused when a generator is blocked? If Grim Embrace blocks all generators for 40 seconds, then AFK points really should be paused. But what if Dead Man’s Switch blocks a generator that a survivor was recently repairing. Are they be expected to find another generator, or should their AFK points be paused so they wait for the generator to be unblocked?
39) Do invocations have a progress rule (i.e. reset AFK points after 12 seconds of invocation progress) or a completion rule (i.e. reset AFK points after an invocation is completed)? If invocations don’t have any progress rules, then it would be possible to gain all three crows while actively doing an invocation. -

I agree with you and its frustrating. Its been happening to me in my matches too. Correct me if I am wrong and I really could be here but on June 17th the FNAF chapter comes out with a QOL update for people who are not doing the objective after 10 minutes they will start to get afk crows revealing them to the killer?
At least that was my understanding of it.
It's actually way less than 10 mins but yes.

I’m genuinely curious — given your perspective, how would you feel about offering killers the ability to abandon the match after the gates are powered, just as survivors can now go next immediately once they’re all downed?
And please — I’d be especially interested in hearing your thoughts beyond the usual “killers still have agency” argument. I’m asking specifically about fairness in match closure.
I'm not against it. Killers should be able to abandon, as long as a killer bot takes over.

To be honest, I’m genuinely surprised to learn that there’s a group of players who equate finishing a match by hooking or mori’ing a real survivor with the kind of taunting that happens at the exit gates.
That said, if that’s your perspective, I have no intention of denying it.
However, for the vast majority of killer players in Dead by Daylight, the core enjoyment lies in defeating real human opponents.
There’s no sense of satisfaction in cleaning up bots, and the experience left behind is ultimately hollow.
Once again, I must say — discovering that there are people who equate the act of legitimately executing a real survivor as a killer and winning the match, with the kind of taunting and mockery survivors do at the exit gates, was both surprising and — in its own way — deeply revealing.
You've already defeated the real players. Like I said it's the same as survivors only getting the satisfaction of escaping if the killer shows up at the exit gate to see them leave.

But why does it matter if you hook the remaining player(s) instead of the Bots?
Everytime I heard this, the response was dead silence or "I don't get satisfaction out of hooking/moring bots". So the truth is it all comes down to rubbing the victory in, just like a survivor complaining the killer didn't show up at the gate to see them taunting.
-
I guess killer players also had a skill issue in old DBD.
-
Because op character = more sales

Duty of Care is apparently so op that no one uses it.

But why don't they type gg before leaving? Your argument no longer works because of the endgame chat change where old chats are saved.
No one cares. I don't type gg as survivor or as killer unless there was some special interaction that made the match unique
-
I wish they would just stop releasing new perks. The game is bloated with hundreds of perks which are neglected.

Modern DBD is still unbalanced btw so the game is both unbalanced and unfun.

For those of you swearing the cages move - then make this make sense.
Note, there are 3 other survivors alive and they are all on the other side of the map, you can't even say someone was hiding close by.
Any previous version of 2v8 would have teleported the cage. They don't move.

Doesn't that destroy the whole not wanting bots in matches if it just yanks you outta the match?
I think they said it won't kick you. Your killer slot is paused until the survivor match is over.
-
It's like hillbilly on constant overdrive and no turn rate limit. So yes

Is herbs being removed intentional? There's no mention of this.

I got camped in a cage by the killer. Because apparently the anti-camp doesn't work anymore.
I was wondering why I haven't seen cages move yet…
-
Eh it's the worst version yet for survivors. Herbs have been removed, legion is still in almost every game with giga buffed oni, useless smoke bombs in a lot of chests (which also incentivize teammates not do gens because they want them).
-
So… why did they even do this new long ass hooking animation? It's buggy af. I saw teammates falling through the map when getting flashlight saved.
-
Yes lol. Giga buff Oni but nerf Ghostface of course
-
Yes. I saw a Wesker getting stuck.
-
Boring honestly. Also it seems everyone is sweating their ass to get escapes or kills (not a bad thing because solo queue games seemed better)

But ghoul is bad now???!?

Using big words to sound smart doesnt make you look smart nor does it prove him wrong. It just makes you look cringe. Pro tip: Just be yourself.
What's cringe are these doom posting killer threads
-
I wish we had anti complaining on the forums instead
-
Just because you keep asking for it, I'm gonna say no now
-
I'd be curious to see personal MMR even if it's a one time thing.
As for Ranked, probably pointless if the goal is to make current mode more "chill". We all know people sweat even harder in events or "casual" mode like chaos shuffle so they still would be playing current mode. Maybe give cosmetic and shard rewards for prestiging or devotion instead.

Legion is only unfun to go against when you are stuck on a team that doesnt spread out and also doesnt body block against feral snowballing.
Seems contradictory I know but body blocking a feral chain is extremely effective and then you spread out again.
Survivor teams just make it annoying as they often run in the same direction, bunch up on the same generator, refuse to body block feral in mend for non-mended teammates.
Its not something that can be taught unfortunately.Tbh I only hate Legion in 2v8.

So basically M1s are still viable and the only reason to ever play Blight or Nurse is if you really hate losing EVER EVER EVER that hard and can't stand a bad game now and again. Makes sense, rings true to my experience anyway.
I feel like if you don't ever wanna lose, and don't want to make the game harder for yourself, then just go play Mario Party with bots?I can't win against "top tier" swf with perkless trapper therefore m1 killers are unplayable.

Well, BHVR stats exclude matches with disconnects so they don't tell the full story for solo queue.

I mean I wouldn't put it past devs if they can't get people to play the mode just to merge both regular and game modes into one queue
Oh. Probably
-
Just allow a killer bot to take over. It happens in 2v8 so why not in 1v4 if the killer wants to leave.

Then actually fill the queue before they are forced to merged regular and game modes together
What is that supposed to mean?

Have you considered the possiblity you're biased in favor of Kaneki?

What's the point of making each new version of 2v8 entirely killer focused instead of improving the survivor experience (the side that isn't attracting enough players)? Shouldn't the hype of playing killer with a friend be enough of a draw considering the long queue times in every previous attempt?
It's like adding at least a few new classes for survivors is too much of a task lol. But is it really surprising when they had the idea to include bots last time?
