This has been a problem since forever.

But I think I remember seeing that duo too or something like that. EU servers. Always lobby dodging.

It's always the Aces with the comp outfit.

well, when i was keeping track of my stats on a daily basis they were accurate from a survivor standpoint although here are some caveats why you might be pushing some misinformation although we can't be certain.
- the website updates once a day at 6 am eastern time
- the website doesn't update YESTERDAY's stats, it updates the day before yesterday's stats.
and so today's stats don't have todays stats or yesterdays stats included; only everything up to the day before yesterday. so if that's how you're accounting for your games on the site you might be missing games just due to the wonky update process.
it's also possible they changed how the update works on the site but this is how it was working during the anniversary event.
the only thing that seems to be tracked on a game by game basis is your match history although that has been the most inaccurate part of the site; for a few weeks that part of the site basically was nonfunctioning even.
No there's no missing data. I took day before and after it was updated.

The wording in that response was "you and their stats are unaffected" so idk. It seems that the match doesn't get thrown out for killers (much like if I die before someone abandons I'm guessing I still get a death) but I'm wondering if individual people might get removed entirely. I'm also really curious about the abandons that show up on match history as escapes, as well as genuine DCs. If these do change numbers, it might not make a huge difference, but it'll do something.
I mean yeah. From the killer pov it counts but not for the survivors. It's so stupid and I wonder how it impacts BHVR stats…

@runningguy said:
so just like i said….all i need to do as survivor is be the last one remaining (or last 2 remaining if the killer slugs). this puts me in a no lose situation where i can either escape via gates or hatch or get downed, abandon and void my loss. When you consider this effects MMR too, if i abandon 19/20 matches and escape 1/20….my mmr will remain neutral 19/20 matches and go UP 1/20 matches….. do this long enough and my MMR will increase.
simply….last survivor remaining can never lose which is what i said from day 1 when they brought in abandon feature and people were using it to bypass the mori.
100% escape rate too

But do your numbers reflect that? I think this is affecting survivor numbers more than killers. I have an 80%+ KR for the month out of 200+ matches. Almost every single match has a DC or abandon. If they weren't counted I'd have like a 50% KR out of like 30 matches or something.
But I agree, they're worthless. Not just worthless, but false data is detrimental to our understanding of anything.
I'm 100% sure killer stats are not affected by this or every match would get thrown out. Like I think the way it works is if YOU as survivor/killer abandon or dc and not another person. Eg all survivors abandon/dc and you're left with bots. If you abandon as well, then the match won't be counted. If you clean up the bots, it does.
-
Seems accurate to my games.

I've been tempted to uninstall just to see if it pops up, but how are we going to argue on the forums if it ends up being a completely different survey?
I do find it funny that no one has actually verified the issue, though I'm part of the problem on that.

We're going to get a 1 second increase to the basekit BT and anti-tunnel will be declared solved!
More seriously:
I think something has to go through. They've also pushed back other things on their schedule which is not easy for them to do and possibly impossible to do again anytime soon. And they've literally said their data shows people are consistently quitting over this issue, so not addressing it makes it sound like they are fine with people quitting and that they won't address their issues.
But BHVR has had a big issue on overpromising and underdelivering (reworking killers, new items for survivors, the go next system),. so getting anti-tunnel/anti-slug knocked back to 'sometime in the future' is certainly a possibility.
Will whatever version goes on the PTB probably be nerfed down (say shrinking the aura range)? Probably. Will what they nerf actually be the right call? Sigh, here's hoping.
Good luck to the devs. There has been already a huge amount of pre-ptb crying here and content creators are pumping out videos with DBD is doomed as the title, exactly like last time.
-
So how much are we betting the ptb changes will get reverted yet again?
-
The answer is they probably don't have enough experience with the game but I'm also gonna say too much altruism kills.

Kill rate doesnt mean that killer is strong because if we will balance the game around kill rate only pinhead, pig, vecna, freddy, sadako, skullmerchant will have to get nerfed hard and killers like huntress, slinger, nurse will have to get huge buffs and something like this was there before and it didnt worked.
If you think these killers that I mentioned will need huge nerfs because their kill rates are very high are broken than strongest is vecna (a-tier but now more high b-tier because of more pallets) than freddy (high b-tier, he had almost same or same kill rates when he was d-tier before his rework), pinhead (b-tier because of pallet changes, wont get touched probably untill bhvr get his lincense if they dont wanna end up in court), sadako (c-tier, have just teleports and thats all), pig (just traps that create new objective and stealth but just pure m1) and last skullmerchant she has still very high kill rates even the fact she is deffinitely worst killer now in the game.
I didn't mention anything about nerfing X because they have Y kill rate. Don't put words in my mouth.

I don't know. That's what I want to see. The survivor stats I'm fairly sure are vanity stats after that post about it (and the complete absence of clarification), but the killer stats might be slightly affected too. If two people abandon at the end and one shows up in recent matches as an escape, does it really not affect the numbers? We shall see. I've only been doing this for a few days and already have 5 of those instances, so I should get at least a little info.
I would love for someone who is okay using the abandon button to do the same test and see what numbers they get as surv. I believe a lot of these 60% ERs I see that don't make sense to me are probably 40% or lower because these people are just the last to die and hit he abandon.
I'm pretty unbothered about most things in this game, but the idea that the stats might be gaslighting survivors into thinking they're doing better than they are—and maybe their complaints aren't valid because of it—has really gotten under my skin.
It's definitely worth posting if something turns up
-
Just a quick testing from yesterday: 18 escapes 10 deaths (with abandons = death) = 64% escape rate
Now basing it off recent match history: 19 escapes 7 deaths 2 nulls = 73% escape rate if those two nulls don't count. Or 67% if you decide to count them. Either way it's slightly inflated.

we dont know because the wording has been "dcing and abandoning matches are not tracked, since your and their mmr is not effected. does this mean the match as a whole is thrown out or just for that one person the DC? if a survivor abandons and the killer kills the bot does the killer still get the kill or is it thrown out because of the abandon? if survivors abandon but 1 escapes is the match considered an escape for 1 person but void for the rest? are killers getting kills via bots but survivors not getting deaths?
with the mmr being included with this, it throws the hatch in question too. the hatch doesnt effect mmr either for either player so is the hatch considered a void match or an escape?
I'm actually going to keep track of my escapes now and see what's up in the 30 days escape rate.

Killer. My survivor stats are probably accurate as I don't DC or abandon, and I'd like to keep them that way. With killer, it'll be other people's choices potentially altering my numbers, not mine.
Isn't the killer stat fine though? From what I've seen it's only recent match history that is broken but the kill rate is accurate. Can't say for escape rate.

its possible, i play all night from about 8pm to about 4am almost every night. even as survivor im getting the same survivor players on cycle. if i get matched with 1 duo or a 3 man swf at the start of the night i will get them again multiple times throughout the night. the players rotation i get matched with is more reliable that the map rotation.
I mean yeah not a lot of people will play Dbd at certain hours.

Maybe you do but not even streamers that play this game every day get them all the time. Same goes to people that say they play against s tiers every match. Is the survivor pool in your region just of those swfs?

so because we cant prove this then you dismiss my experience and i dismiss yours and anyone else that gets different to me? interesting way to get current feedback on the state of the game…we only go by our own matches and ignore the views of others, fair enough. cant expect anyone to take your views seriously if you complain about anything happens in your matches
Isn't that what you're doing though?

im not saying mmr is perfect but high mmr does mean more chance of getting high mmr players. how else do you explain how some killers get solo casuals all the time and rarely get swf but some killers have the opposite and constantly get swf teams consistently? in my killer matches im getting mostly swf teams with maybe 1 or 2 matches which are soloq players. others are not having this experience.
No it doesn't. I've been watching streamers playing survivor and getting 3 digit hours killers almost every match and they're puzzled. This is also my experience with the occasional "High" MMR killer but in those matches I get not so good teammates.
-
@runningguy said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4020527#Comment_4020527
even the devs have said, if you sweat as a player then you will be matched with sweaty players.
logic says if someone is playing sweaty and winning consistently for months or years then MMR will go up. how else does someone get into high MMR?
but people that play chill and dont win as much as a sweaty player would obviously have a lower MMR.
IF your playing chilled, casual and still winning as much as a competitive sweaty player you must be 1 hell of a player lol.
When I get the wannabe comp blight with potatoes as teammates, it's because we're sweats right?
MMR is all over the place and that's a fact.

Then the first point would remain at the current Haste buff, and Survivors can still stack Borrowed Time on top of that if they wish. The main goal of my concept is to make the unhooked Survivor a less efficient chase target due to the combination of Haste, low scratch mark visibility, and quieter grunts of pain — assuming the Killer immediately pursues them after an unhook.
The Hindered debuff is designed to encourage Killers to hook rather than camp:
- A. Sit on the downed Survivor while everyone else works on gens.
- B. Leave the radius to pursue someone else, allowing the downed Survivor to auto-recover or be picked up.
- C. Camp the Survivor, get Hindered, and then struggle to chase teammates trying to save them.
Either way, it takes a long time for someone to bleed out, and Killers would almost always prefer to hook rather than sit on a Survivor the entire match.
Regarding the 3-second aura read, it’s short and conditional — only for first hooks and disabled if the Killer tunnels. It’s not intended as a buff to mobility-heavy Killers like Blight or Nurse; it’s a small, situational awareness tool. Even slower Killers like Trapper can use it to decide where to apply map pressure or prep setups. It rewards smart target rotation, not chase speed.
Someone also suggested using Killer Instinct instead of aura reading, which is a viable alternative. It may provide slightly less incentive for Killers who prefer to camp, but it could still fit within this system.
- OK
- I think it just punishes avoiding pickups due to flashlight/pallet saves. If a killer camps a downed survivor, they're throwing the game already so at this point the penalty is not even needed.
- It still is more useful to mobility killers but idrc about 3 seconds aura reading. 90% they already know where you are by game sense or guessing so OK.
Also thank you for making an actual discussion amongst all of these insufferable threads which are just bitching and moaning.
-
I mean… the first point is less "punishing" than current 10% + bt for 10 seconds. I don't see the point for hindered if a killer is camping a downed survivor. You're either avoiding a pallet save or throwing the game. For third, okay. Tbh I think aura in general is just a buff to mobility killers yet again. Trapper isn't gonna use the aura reading.

I don’t even think Lithe on its own is a problem. Like don’t get me wrong this perk basically turns any Survivor into a Neanderthal with two brain cells competing for third place but on its own I don’t think it’s problematic. I think the real problem is when it’s combined with perks like Finesse and W.O.O is where it actually becomes a bit of an issue. So no, you don’t need Nerf Lithe you just need to nerf the perks that make Lithe what it is.
Yes. Survivors who run WOO and Lithe are annoying and with the pallet density update even more. But they're not good at looping. Deadhard and Sprint burst are way stronger for decent players anyway.

My point was the handicapping part not the game mechanics part…
But as you wish…
You don´t need to tunnel to win a game and you can survive a match without touching a single gen via hatch or having amazing teammates.
Okay. Not using perks is the same as not tunneling. Wow same thing right because it's handicapping? Being blindfolded is the same as not tunneling. Playing at 10 fps is the same as not tunneling. Playing with two hands is the same as tunneling.
"You don´t need to tunnel to win a game and you can survive a match without touching a single gen via hatch or having amazing teammates."
???? You must be trolling or clueless if you don't understand why I said working separately is the same as tunneling (efficiency). I'm not engaging with you any further.

@Leon_van_Straken said:

It is the same thing not game wise but by handicapping yourself.
Just tell me a single reason why the Killer shouldn´t tunnel and I will tell you a reason why you won´t need to throw a pallet at all.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4020354#Comment_4020354
Yeah i know that feeling on Dead Dog… but I am guilty of doing the exact same thing XD. Its annoying but efficient.
An actual analogy to tunneling is survivors working separately on gens and not together! Not not using pallets.

You can win games without tunneling and Slugging. I did this often enough.
You can also loop a Killer without dropping a single pallet by just pressing shift W and use vaults.
Both of these are totally possible to archive but getting rid of a survivor or using pallets in chase makes the game much easier doesnt it?
Ah yes TOTALLY the same thing. Go do it on Gideon or a killer that isn't a baby. You're trying to sound smart but this is idiotic.

Ofcourse Killers tunnel, its a efficient way to generate pressure and cutting gen times.
It´s like complaining about predropping, its a efficent way to prolong chases without any pressure.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4020339#Comment_4020339
Also that. The point is not a single survivor who is half decent in the game would say nahh… 90% is to risky now lets regress it to 0%.
So this entire narrative that killers NEED to tunnel because x and y happened during the years is false.

Killers still tunneled at 5 gens with stronger metas and gen kicking, stop pushing this topic.

How do you think champions league would do if they did ?
DBD is not a champions league oh my god
