Please no. I never want to see old Dead Hard again.

That limit for Micky is only because of afk survivors and Micky farming off them
I don't agree with the limitation, I just know there's a cap there for a reason
If they could find a better solution to get unlimited evil, that'd be great!
Singularity has a mechanic where his power doesn't work on AFK survivors. They could just give a similar thing to Myers where you can't stalk someone who has AFK crows.
-
Honestly even 4 seconds would be enough. Or even just making it so the the stun triggers after you land so you actually get to use the full 3 seconds rather than wasting a second falling from the killers arms.

Guessing you're hoping for Stranger Things? IIRC Nov 6th is Stranger Things day. It's possible. I do think it's Predator though.
I am so torn on how I would feel if it were Stranger Things.
While I would love for it to return and a second chapter would be amazing, a second chapter being just a killer with no survivors is also disappointing.

I never use MFT, I never defend MFT, I dont mind of MFT nerf.
Its just their logic to convince MFT nerf is a buff is something beyond this world. It made me think of reasons why Ruin nerf was actually a buff, by using the same logic.
Ah fair enough. I misunderstood your comment sorry. I agree with you in that case.

Ruin, in fact, was a buff.
Pretty sure they are referring to the change that reduced Ruin from 200% to 100% regression and deactivate once you kill someone. That was a massive nerf.
These MfT changes also are absolutely a nerf. Yes it still has synergy with Dead Hard and other Exhaustion perks but it’s still going to be no where near as good as it is right now. It’s a massive nerf, and rightfully so. The perk needed a massive nerf. It will still be decent but it wont be the entire meta anymore.

Oh yes that's right I had forgotten they said Freddy was being pushed back.
I don't think Mikey is as in as much of a dire situation as Freddy is. Unlike Mikey, Freddy is considered boring to play as and against by the community. Mikey definitely needs some updating, and as a Mikey main myself I can't wait to see what they come up with, but he's still very popular according to their own stats. Mikey has a lot of fun builds you can do with him. He's generally enjoyed by the community.
Freddy is like the forgotten killer of Dbd. No cosmetics, no unique chase music, boring power, rarely played etc. That's the key thing with any killer. Weak or strong, if they're not fun to play then people won't play them. Its why Twins is getting a rework. They are considered strong but they're not really fun to play. So they're bottom of the killer pick rates. With Hag not far behind for similar reasons.
Oh I definitely agree about Myers. I think he needs some changes but Freddy should take priority over him (and pretty much every killer except Twins at this point). I only mentioned him because they said the same thing about Myers as they did Freddy “he’s on the list for changes but still figuring out what to do”.
Which doesn’t really bode well for Freddy if he has been pushed back so much and they still are only in the ideas phase of his changes :(
I really don’t get why he is so low priority honestly. I can understand Skull Merchant, but why was Trickster a higher priority?
-
Give him the ability to use his harpoon as a grapple hook!!
Seriously though he is pretty overdue for some changes, especially an add on rework. The fact that Huntress received a bigger reload buff than Slinger is still funny to me.

the issue is that the killer can purposely leave you when you have deep wound and detach chases. as a result, you have to mend or you cannot work on generators. DH is also single use perk so once it is activated, it turned off until you get hooked again.
If the killer has to break chase then doesn’t that mean the perk has done it’s job?

While this is true, they could have thrown Survivors a Bone in this Patch.
Survivors in this Patch only get Nerfs while Killers only get Buffs (including the Map Changes). AND this is a Killer-only Chapter, so there is not even anything new for Survivors in this Chapter.
I am the last person who would say that both sides should receive Buffs and Nerfs equally, but there is really nothing in this Patch for Survivors aside from Nerfs.
New maps is still new content for survivors though. And we don’t even know if they will be killer sided yet. After all, Borgo became even more survivor sided in its PTB rework before they adjusted it. Unlikely, but we can’t really make assumptions yet and say that it’s “nothing new for survivors” when it’s still something new, just because it’s not broken anymore.
And half the reason for the Trickster changes were to make him less annoying to play against as survivor.
Of course I would’ve preferred survivors receive something such as some old perks getting some buffs, but after how much survivor has gotten these past few patches I think one patch with nothing new is fine.

How do you know that?
They’ve already said Freddy is on the list for some changes, however Freddy was pushed back and last time they mentioned it they didn’t even have an idea for what they are planning on doing for him. So it’s pretty safe to say that his changes won’t be coming anytime soon. Same with Myers who is in a similar situation.

The Trickster changes look great and definitely make him a more enticing range killer.
My only worry now is that Deathslinger is a much less appealing range killer. He’s now slower than Trickster, still has useless add ons, and now MfT affects him disproportionately more than the other range killers. Hopefully he receives some changes soon as well.

Best survivor perks are extend chasing time. MFT fits exactly in the category. Best killer perks are extend the time available for them, which are slowdowns.
For how the game works fundamentally, those will always be meta.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3572332#Comment_3572332
I think of the opposite, all perks should be weak equally!
Yeah you are completely right about that. Which is why I'm fine with the current meta for the most part. The meta will pretty much always be the same just with a different coat of paint. As long as it isn't oppressive like Eruption or Dead Hard then I don't mind it.
MfT is probably the only problematic perk in the current meta and even then I would gladly take that over the old meta any day.
-
The one where she breaks your legs is her Mori.
The one where she just stares and you die is from her power where she can kill you if you’re fully Condemned.
-
The meta right now isn’t great, especially MfT and that multiple slow down is still the best strategy, but it’s WAY better than the past.
Eruption meta was probably the worst killer meta ever. Current killer meta is a lot more varied and going against full slow down isn’t as oppressive, even if it is still unfun verse. Eruption/CoB/Overcharge was just miserable watching gens regress while the killer avoided chasing anyone.
As for survivor, the Small Peepee (DS/UB) build plus Dead Hard was probably the worst meta. Literally removed any counter play to DS and Dead Hard was one of the most broken perks to ever exist. And this meta lasted a LONG time. MfT is poorly designed but I’ll gladly take that over the DH/DS/UB meta.
The meta is always going to get stale but as long as it isn’t overpowered I don’t mind. Only perk right now I think needs adjusting is MfT and Buckle Up, otherwise I’m ok with the meta.
-
Yeah in end game Freddy pretty much has no power. Especially since Adrenaline still wakes people up for some reason so he can’t even use his other power either.
I don’t see why he can’t teleport to completed gens. Just show them in a different colour so you know which gens are still to be completed.
And remove the Adrenaline effect. No perk should have an effect that specifically affects only one killer.

DS passively nerfed 6 times.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Q1ZGTHUNQBQ0/image.png
DH wasnt "strong". DH was nerfed because survivors generally getting alot better and better through years that made DH become the strongest perk. You dont hear any complain about DH far back to 2020 and previous.
As someone who has been playing since 2017, I can assure you that Dead Hard has always been broken and complained about. From what I can remember BHVR even had an entire section on upcoming Dead Hard changes in one of their weekly streams and how they were planning on updating it so it was less frustrating as back then it had no animation and the way the speed curve worked allowed survivors to fly over gaps or reach unintended areas and hold the game hostage.
And then after that there were WAY more broken things to complain about. Sprint Burst recovered mid-chase, DS was a free health state, Balanced turned certain maps into infinites. Plus no one really used it for distance back then because pallet vacuum gave you that for free and double pallets made it so you never needed to extra distance because you were never more than 10 steps from a pallet.
Yes survivor got better and that made Dead Hard stronger (although overtime it became less skilful as everyone just pressed E for distance), but the main reason it wasn't the 'strongest perk' back then was because we had other broken stuff to play with. The game evolved but Dead Hard didn't which is why it become so popular before its nerf. It was the last of the broken perks to be nerfed.
-
He’s not the best but he’s far the worst killer in the game.
Freddy and Trapper take that title.

So tunnel out 2 survivors. Yea, see that's not something I find at all fun. Which is part of the problem of a lot of challenges, though is not by far the worst.
You don’t need to tunnel, just play normally until you are in a position that you know you are going to win the game and then go and release the Haunts.

Is it? This is a question to ask. Is it honestly a placebo effect? 100% Idk. It could be I guess. I could be inside my own head but one wonders.
After years. I do feel a different game.
It is. Grades/Ranks haven't had any role in matchmaking for years. Matchmaking is based off of a hidden number that is based on how often you win. It is NOT reset during rank reset either.
You probably notice harder games as the season goes on because in order to get to iri grades you need to win, which increases you MMR number so you get harder games but not because of your grade. Each killers MMR is also different so you might have easier games with one killer compared to another because your matchmaking score is higher on one than the other.
Or maybe it's just to do with the time of day you are playing. Or maybe people play less 'sweaty' at the start of rank reset and now everyone's back to playing how they used to.
This event also encourages killers to play sweater because they can't really interact with the event unless they are massively ahead without being put at a disadvantage. So it could go back to how you like it once the event is done :)

I'm meh on locker saves. They really didn't serve much of a purpose for progressing the game nor did they help stop tunneling. Also, this is classic whataboutism.
Uhhhh, there's plenty of agency??? You are, for all intents and purposes, chasing two people.
You’re “chasing” two people, but once they pull it off they go back to 3 people on gens while your chase is reset.
Getting the down is still more pressure because after I hook them I am pressuring 3 survivors (one hooked, one going to save, once in chase) as opposed to 2 being “chased” for the first half and then only 1 once they pull off the FTP. Yeah they are going a bit slower, but they are still progressing their objective where as the killer is still not progressing theirs.
This also doesn’t take into account end game where it just makes you near invincible once a gate is open or if a survivor doesn’t just follow the killer around and uses it when the opportunity shows up.
-
Yeah I’ve been able to use it most games. Only been tunneled once, but it was a Nurse so I could just jump into a void portal and they literally couldn’t catch me.
I think it’s good. Not a whole lot to it and the rewards for entering aren’t that great, especially for killers. Once you’ve been in there once you’ve basically done everything and there’s no real point to going in there as killer. As survivor though it’s still worth it sometimes to go in there to avoid going down as early.
Overall fun event but I can’t really blame people for not wanting to interact with it, especially killer players.
-
Killing the survivor is the reward. Anything more would just encourage tunneling.
If anything, killers should be rewarded more for spreading hooks rather than getting someone out of the game straight away.
-
One of the best events. Very unique and fun and makes me hopeful that we might get more mechanics similar to this. The Knight outfit is also amazing.
If you want to experience the void you do have to throw sometimes, but I honestly would prefer that over events like the first Snowmen event or Anniversary where one side got insanely buffed and the other didn’t get much.
Only thing I don’t really like is how weak the Haunts are as traps. The hindered is so pointless and it’s already pretty hard to get someone to trigger them. Otherwise great event!

When you can score a massive amount of BPs by not being a sweaty player and needing that 4k, it is absolutely unneeded at the moment.
This is a perfect chance for people to prestige up another killer or survivor they've had sitting around.
Also, for most people I know who main killer, the appeal is the hunt and fear factor. The actual hooking of the death hook means very little to them, but again those people aren't playing the game to get their ego stroked. They play it for fun.
Not everyone cares about BP though. I know I don’t. I have heaps and can’t be bothered spending it. And not everyone has fun the same way. I don’t care for the “hunt and fear factor”, I play because it’s fun outplaying someone with a cool mind game or pulling of a well timed 99 stalk down with Ghostface. Getting a 4K is way more satisfying to me than getting 8 hooks and letting everyone go.
If people find winning fun, then there’s nothing wrong with that just like there’s nothing wrong with finding BP farming fun. We all have fun in different ways, as long as you aren’t an ######### then play how you want.

The funny part of killer players is those who play for fun, they would play low tier killers because its really kill doesnt matter for them (I main Trapper and 2nd to Myers, Spirit but mostly meme with her). Those who play only to kill will use high tier killers with no mercy in sight.
No they wouldn’t they would play who they find fun regardless of their tier. I main Ghostface because he’s fun, I don’t care if he’s low tier or high tier I’m gonna play him cause he’s fun.
If someone finds Blight fun then they should be allowed to play him. Just like how you play Spirit because she’s fun regardless of being high A tier.
If someone wants to have fun they should play what they find fun. If someone doesn’t find Trapper fun they shouldn’t have to play just because kills don’t matter.
Yes those who play to win will probably play high tier killers, but not everyone playing Blight plays to win. I see just as many, if not more, sweaty and toxic Trappers than I do Blight.
-
The tanuki is so cute it better win!
-
Thankfully haven't had many games like that. Only thing I've noticed is more survivors giving up for no reason (when playing both sides)
Also Dowsing Rods are personal so the killer probably won't be getting 100K+ BP with a Mori.
-
A bear.
Nothing special about it, just an ordinary bear that wandered into the Entity's realm.
-
Isn’t Bloodlust also lost when stunned? I swear every time I’m stunned/blinded I lose exactly 1 stack of Bloodlust.
-
Remove the escape attempts and make it a meter that takes 10 seconds to fill up. If another survivor helps you it fills up 4x faster (so 2.5 seconds is the fastest you can escape, which is the same as the setting time).

Not saying I don't belive you but its strange how many killers always have problems like this when they want something to be changed:
Epilepsy attacks because of flashlights
Feeling dizzy or sick seeing the post hit animation
Now is autism if they hear too many notifications.
Maybe you are telling the truth. But the community here lies so mucho to get what they want that I am more than skeptical.
All of those are valid though and most games now have features already to reduce motion sickness (being able to turn off motion blur, FoV slider for example) and don't have excessive flickering lights or sounds.
Every accessibility feature killers have asked for are because of the same 2 reasons:
- Awful FoV which make even the slightest change cause motion sickness because of how small your screen is. Once FoV is fixed most motion sickness complaints will probably be resolved.
- Something that is excessively fast and in control of the survivor. Both flashlight spam and notification spam is incredibly fast and unnecessarily so.
I haven't seen any killer players (outside of colourblind) ask for accessibility features that don't fall into one of these 2 categories. So maybe the fact that every accessibility complaint revolves around these 2 features should be a sign to fix these outdated mechanics.
And none of the things you listed had any impact on gameplay, so why bother keeping something if its only purpose is to be annoying and risk causing people real life problems?
-
Depends on a few factors.
As killer, if the chase has gone on for more than 30 seconds and I know I can't get the down soon I just break chase. This might be a bad chase if I didn't get any value from it, but if I got an injure, some good pallets out of the way, or 99'd them as Ghostface then I consider it a good chase as it still had some value and could possibly lead to a snowball later. If I get a down in < 30ish seconds I consider that a good chase as killer.
As survivor, it depends on how much value the chase gave my team. A 2 minute chase is good, but if my teammates spent the entire time doing nothing and no gens were finished then it didn't really matter how long the chase was. Alternatively I might go down after 15 seconds but that may have been enough time to give my teammate nearby to finish the last gen, so I would consider that a good chase.

I'll say what I always say. There's zero incentive to stay in a survivor game that looks like it's going badly. You aren't going to win and you aren't going to get any bloodpoints either. Especially true if you are a solo player. The odds of you making a comeback are very low due to how quickly things snowball for the killer. For less experienced players there's also a high probability of them being hard tunneled out so I kind of understand why they give up. The person who gave up might have just been tunneled out five games in a row. It's impossible to really know their motivation for giving up. Give people more of an incentive to stay in games if you want to solve this problem. I don't know how to achieve this but clearly something needs to be done.
This is kinda true, but a LOT of people give up even when the game is in our favour.
I can’t count the amount of times we are winning as survivor and then we just lose because someone decided to sacrifice themselves on first hook. Or where I’m killer and getting my ass kicked but end up winning because someone gave up simply because they messed up or I outplayed them.
An incentive to stay won’t necessarily solve the problem either as they’ll still throw just in a different way (AFK, hide all game, etc)

in a way, yes.
but, afaik, they are also aware that clown causes motion sickness. and nothing has been done about that.
Clown actually does have something in place to help with motion sickness. A little crosshair appears when intoxicated so you can focus on that and reduce motion sickness.
-
He doesn't need buffs he just needs some quality of life fixes so he doesn't feel as bad to play.
- Reduce the amount of survivor that needs to be visible to shoot them. Currently a branch can block it and that's just silly.
- If the targeting is cancelled, it should remain at the same percentage for 1 second so that something small blocking the survivor doesn't force you to reset your progress.
- After placing a biopod prioritise selecting that one for a few seconds. This would help the issue where you place a pod mid-chase, go to look through it, but accidentally select the pod on the other end of the map.
- Remove the anti-camp mechanic for survivors who are dead and currently being lifted into the air
- Remove the immunity to being shot period after using an EMP or reduce the cool down on pods when it triggers. Currently if you EMP a pod off you there is a short period where the survivor can't be shot again yet the pod cool down still applies which feels awful, especially since if you can tag a survivor right after that either you outplayed them or they messed up their EMP location.
-
Aside from Yoichi, no other survivor is getting a Blighted cosmetic this year.
And we are getting 2 Halloween costumes with Werewolf Jake and Fairy Claudette. And then there's Pumpkin Feng, Meg's outfit, and 3 void outfits.
So there is way more than just 1 blight outfit.

Distortion kills me as killer, I hate facing it so much and one of my friends refuses to take it off whenever we swf and I'm like ready to fly across the country just to take it off their build LMAO
Also I didn't even think about that take for Plague, but you're right. Why are you able to do that? Like it's only a sliver of infection so what's even the point of it being there as an option to do besides possible tunneling, but even then they're already injured? I'm pretty sure the reason why you get infected by unhooking a fully infected survivor just comes down to how the mechanic works, but I wouldn't be against them changing it so that it doesn't happen upon unhooking a survivor. Even if just to see how it effects Plague gameplay.
Nice to see someone else feels the same way about Distortion. I thought I was alone in not liking it :)
The Plague thing might just be me trying to justify my hatred for her but it’s really dumb. Even though it starts as a sliver, you are guaranteed to become fully infected now unless you cleanse. It just feels bad to outplay her and avoid her puke only to then become infected anyway and now you are permanently injured. Weaker and Nemesis can’t infect hooked survivors, so I dont understand why Plague can.
Getting infected when unhooking another does make sense from a mechanic point of view, but it just feels like you are being punished for no reason. You can avoid getting infected every other way from teammates but when they are hooked you have to become infected because you have to save them.
-
Slug them. These groups usually spend minimal amounts of time on gens, especially when all 4 are following after you, so you can afford to spend some time slugging them all to waste up their Unbreakables. Eventually they'll make a mistake and that will allow you to either get a hook or get them all down. These games a LONG but if know when to slug and can capitalise off the mistakes they will inevitably make you can win.
Alternatively you can run Lightborn or Franklin's Demise to counter the flashlights. Infectious Fright and Forced Hesitation are good counters as well.
Or you could just play Pyramid Head or Sadako and never have to worry about them as you can just cage/condemn them :)

Speaking of flashlights, they also changed how the screen looks after being blinded so it wasn't blinding ppl IRL too, lol. It use to give you a bright white screen to stare at instead of the reddish one we have now.
I completely forgot about that haha. That was awful.
-
Plague shouldn't be able to infect a survivor while they are on a hook. If the survivor managed to avoid getting infected during the chase then they just outplayed her. She shouldn't get rewarded for that. I also think unhooking an infected survivor shouldn't infect it you as you shouldn't be punished for doing what you have to do. (I just hate Plague honestly)
Distortion is one of the most unfun perks in the game. I don't think it's overpowered or anything I just don't like how a single perk can render multiple perks completely useless and I hate playing with teammates with it because it means that they probably are never going to be chased and the killer is more likely to involuntarily 'tunnel' because they can't locate the other survivor as easily. Same as when I'm playing killer, I don't like how it reduces the amount of survivors I interact with when I run aura perks because it's basically telling me to just keep going after the one guy without Distortion.

I noticed when they wanted to gut spine chill people immediately pointed out that it was a crutch perk for people who are Deaf or hard of hearing. They immediately acknowledged it because they realized they didn't really have any features in place to accommodate people with these issues. Seemed like it's something they may not have thought of. So they decided to keep it active for a terror radius for the time being, but now we have the heartbeat feature so a perk slot doesn't need to be used for a visual aid.
All this being said, I think that spamming noise notifications and its effects on people with certain stimuli to noises may never have crossed their minds. So maybe this thread will be another "#########, we never really thought of that. Yeah we can easily fix this" because as a couple of you mentioned, a cool down after two should be enough. After 2 the killer really doesn't get any new information anyway. Hope BHVR sees this thread and takes note of it.
Yeah that's a good point. A similar thing happened when people pointed out flashlight clicking was an issue for epilepsy and they reverted the wiping animation update when it caused motion sickness. And they are adding an FOV slider for that same reason.
So they do care about accessibility and hopefully this thread does get their attention.

Freddy pretty much is the worst killer in the game. After the trapper-buffs im almost certain of it.
His "power" if you can consider it a power, makes survivors oblivious while he still has a lullaby. The teleport takes a ton of time and even if you fake it, you have a cooldown for that.
Dream pallets make you the worst killer in the game period.
Snares are awful as well. Especially with MfT going around right now.
His "power" isnt there at the start and thanks to adrenaline it also isnt there at the end.
All killers can push survivors into scenarios where they struggle. Except Freddy.
He has no early game, no mid game and no end game either. His kill rate presumably comes from soloq survivors that dont know how to loop an m1 killer.
Sorry to disappoint.
This doesnt mean hes an instant loss, as you can see by my screenshot. Freddy does have his upsides. That being: Hes small and has dark clothing, which is awesome for mindgames and is very quiet. But even in that regard, Pig is straight up better.
And don't forget if a survivor is awake then his chase power only works AFTER you hit them. So if you're chasing an awake injured survivor, you pretty much have to down them without using your power.
And that's not even considering alarm clocks which make them immune to his already mediocre power for 30 seconds!
Absolutely the worst killer in the game.
